The truck they gave us was awful. The windshield had multiple cracks, the doors did not close or lock well, the handle to roll down the window was broken, I could not adjust the seat so I could reach the pedals. 1, The truck (according to its own dash) was due for an oil change (not a big deal because I was only going to take it for about a hundred miles, but for somebody planning a long trip........? 2. Took 45 minutes for checking in even with completing online papers. Filled gas right before dropping off but they still charged for 2 gallons which is definitely not correct. Make sure to take a picture of mileage and gas at pickup and at drop-off so you have something to argue with. I forgot so I just got to eat the extra cost.Ryan Y.

I had trouble with the U-Haul Truck Share 24/7 feature on my Android phone. It could not locate my location using the browser (despite allowing it) and the alternative (barcode scan in browser and via submitting a picture) was not working for me either. I switched over to my wife's iPhone and it worked instantly with zero issues, suggesting that U-Haul does not fully support Android. I have a Samsung S20 which is a fairly new phone so I'm disappointed it did not work. Other than that, it the rental and return process was fine. Thanks Heath and team!Wayne F.

There was no where to park when i got there for customer parking and i was on time. However My van was given away to someone else and so i didn't get the dolly i paid for in advance and this significantly increased the time to move my daughter from one apartment to the next. The staff assured me i would be refunded for the dolly charge and also not charged for any late return of the van. Also the van they gave me had low tire pressure so i was not able to see the mileage upon return because of the tire pressure indicator but there's no way i went over 5 miles total. Hopefully the refund takes place and if I'm not charged anything additional, i would have no complaints. Because I understand things happen. ThanksMelissa C.

I refilled the gas to 3/8 in good faith per my contract. Whoever checked my vehicle in deemed it was under 3/8, which is subjective, and charged me an extra $17 by adding 3 gallons. I disagree that it was not at 3/8 when it was turned in (I came straight from the gas station) but absolutely no way did it require the gallons. I feel like this is a scam.Sarah L.

Very quick mobile check-n and there was a mix-up RE: the mileage I received the truck at. Because the lady I spoke with while picking up sad to verify the gas level and mileage before I go, I had taken a picture and they very quickly corrected it and sent me on my way. 10+ years about I used this same store several times and the level of service has gone up considerably since that time. Had a hospital emergency. Staff was notified of this and told equipment would be late and equipment was in fact a day plus an hour and a half late. Staff charged 2 full days penalty. It seems that 1 day would have been more suitable. Even so, I would recommend them (the fellow who checked me in was very very helpful) with a warning!Ralph M.
It took until after 5:30 to pick up my 5:00 reservation. The self return barcode on the door doesn't work so I had to have someone check in the truck. Luckily they were still inside or I would've been charged $20 for them to verify my drop-off in the morning even though I returned it almost 2 hours early. The staff were not overly helpful with the process. I reserved online, checked in online, and when I showed up I still had to go through the entire process again. Then I was told the truck would be brought up front and after 15 minutes it still wasn't there. When I asked again, one of the employees took the keys to go get it and took another 10 minutes to bring it around the building. Huge time waste.Brandon P.

If your expectation is for me to have the fuel above one quarter of a tank, it ought to be there at least that when I pick it up. The fact you would charge me $30 if I returned the fuel below a quarter of a tank, but only give me a credit of $8 for gas, equivalent to less than 2 gallons, is absolutely ridiculous! I reserved two 2-wheel carts. When I checked in they said they weren't any in the store available. That it was first come first serve. It didn't matter that I reserved them over a month ago. That's unprofessional. It was a good thing if there was one already in the back of the truck I had reserved. I tried to check the truck over carefully when I picked it up. There were numerous marks on the side that were unmarked from previous uses. And the check engine light was on along with the oil. I could not find the hood opener, but was told everything was in working order. With the shape of the truck, it left me feeling very uncertain. By the time I left, I had spent nearly an hour getting the truck that I had already pre-registered for. All the workers were courteous. I was treated with respect. I have no complaints on the workers, just the process.David B.

Yesterday (7/18), I wanted to extend my rental time. I was put on hold three times. Within seconds after the associate picked up, she instantly put me on hold. Tried to call a second and third time, and never got help. She left me on hold until after closing time (waited until 715pm) and she never talked to me. Of course, if I hang up and call, I will get the automatic message that they're closed. I tried the mobile checkin but the van I needed was not labeled so I could not locate it. The staff inside were overworked to the point of not being helpful. there are not enough U-Haul trucks in Champaign-Urbana-Danville area. i only scheduled a truck for one day and it rained most of the day that day so i was going to need the truck for a second day so instead of just keeping the truck another day, i called to say i needed it a second day and they whole city is booked so i had to return the truck and then go rent another truck and spend another $146 when it should have just cost me another $39.95 so i'm not very happy at alljonathon S.

There was only one girl working at the counter at this location and she seemed very overwhelmed. She was kind and helpful, but she was so busy that she couldn't keep up with the customers. This location really needs more than one person on staff. That being said, she told me to leave my trailer in the parking lot and later that day I got a confirmation email so I guess everything went well here. The young man that I had phone conversation on Friday/Saturday was EXCELLENT. He was respectful, polite, informative, suggested insurance, told about access code or purchasing lock, whereas another man that I spoke to was ABSOLUTELY , 💯 % HORRIBLE.
