The storage part of the store closed early one night and was locked when I brought a full load ready to unload at my storage unit. I had checked the hours online, as well as called the location to confirm the hours, before I went to load up my trailer to bring to the storage unit. The employee I talked to on the phone informed me that it closed at 7, which matched what it said online. When I got the storage unit around 6:40 the outside doors were locked. I called the store and talked to the same employee, and she told me that it was closed and that she never said it was open til 7 and that I would have to wait until 9am the next day. I begged and tried to plead my case on the phone for them to just come open it for a few minutes so that we could unload our stuff. They refused and argued back. Terrible customer service. They then locked the doors to the store and said it was closed too so that we could not talk to them in person. It would have maybe taken 10 minutes tops for us to get everything unloaded and into our unit. Instead, because of that employee, I had to bring all the stuff back to where I had gotten it and unload it and wait til the next day to do it all over again. Pretty ridiculous, especially after I had called to confirm the times just to make sure nothing like that would happen. Last minute was told I had to pick up at this location which is 13 miles further away from the Uhaul store I originally reserved my van from and was told it was â€œguaranteedâ€ to be available. Employee behind the counter was laughing at me when I told her it was frustrating to be told to drive 22 miles with such a short notice to pick up the van. Returned the van to the location I originally reserved the van from and then got a call that I would be charged $220 for returning the truck to the â€œwrongâ€ location. I wasn't ever told I'd be charged or anything. Had to drive all the way back to the store I dropped the van off at and then had to drive it back to this rotten store to avoid the egregious â€œwrong location charge.â€ Unbelievably frustrating experience and will never rent a truck from this location ever again. I don't leave reviews for places but this was such a rancid experience that I felt it was my civic duty to tell the world of how bad this place was.Tyler T.

Was told the storage units were open til 7pm on Saturday’s when I signed up. Called around 5:30pm on Saturday just to make sure facility would be open til 7 and also checked online. Was told 7pm again. Showed up with a full trailer of things to put into storage around 6:40 pm and the door to the storage entrance was locked. Called the front office and they told us they close at 6:30 and they said that they never told us they close at 7. That was only the beginning of the rude conversation. (I know the workers were just trying to skip out of work early.) They also then locked the doors to the main area so that we couldn’t talk to them in person. Because they wouldn’t allow us the couple minutes to unload all of our stuff and put it into our storage unit, we had to bring it all back to where we got it from and unload it again. Will have to do it all over again at another time because of the employees. Because of this, I can never recommend this location to anyone.John C. | First Impressions
We pulled up to what should have been a quick hook up as we filled out forms and paid on-line prior to our appt. Unfortunately our car was not getting power to the trailer for lights and blinker. The attendant Yolanda not only patiently worked with us to figure out the problem but did it in the pouring down rain and assured us we would figure it out. Where do I begin.... 1. The employee helping me had terrible customer service, she had no knowledge of the storage units or anything regarding uhaul. She could not answer any questions I had. An example of a question she did not know the answer and did not do anything to obtain the information for me; "How do you access the storage units that are not on the ground floor" 2. She was slow and very unhelpful 3. Yolanda at this location told me over the phone that if I had the truck back before 7 pm that I would not be charged an extra day. But i was still charged an extra day. 4. The units are over priced and the location is unsafe. 5. My unit door barely would go up and down, we had to switch out of 2 units before getting the right one because the employee booked me the wrong unit 2 times in a row.KATEY P.

I had two uboxes that were to be shipped together from California. One arrived on time, while the other was marked to be stored in CA. First, let me say that everyone I spoke to along the way, both in CA and AL (or wherever I was calling), was extremely helpful. After many phone calls and transfers, my second ubox eventually shipped but when it got to Birmingham, it was again marked for storage, not for delivery to my house. I was told they couldn't deliver it for 3-4 weeks even though I had a reservation #. I decided to rent a truck and unload it myself. The issue seems to be a communication one. Everyone I spoke to seemed to be making sure they were putting in notes and entering information correctly but it didn't show up on the other end, causing me to have to call multiple times, going thru the phone system and on hold for 10-20 minutes each time, as well as being transferred multiple times to get it resolved. Everyone I have spoken to has been caring and helpful but this has been an extremely frustrating process. Thank you, Nanette HartNanette H.

When I called the day before pickup to ask what time the containers would be picked up, I got conflicting answers. One person said 9AM-12PM and another said 5pm-10pm. As it turns out, no one showed up that day to pick up the containers, because apparently no one told the driver about the pickup. Luckily he was able to come the day after in the morning, which was right before I was moving away. Everything ended up working out, but I'm hoping that was a rare occasion because aside from that the process was pretty smooth.Truth I.

It was not necessary for us to use the truck and we turned around and brought it directly back. However we still had to pay for the rental of the truck that we didnot used. Round trip we only travel 6 miles. We are a Non-profit organization and are picking up food to give to the needed.Isaac D.
My original location was changed and moved to the 28th st location. I didn't receive notification of the change until I went to my original choice and they told me I needed to go elsewhere also I couldn't pickup the van when I requested I had to come back at a later time. I went by twice in person to ensure my truck would be ready. Even went through the app to Ag an appliance hand truck. When I got there, they did not have my one way truck in ANY size and no hand truck. I had to return the truck the same day. That cost me mileage and precious time. I have to move stuff from storage soon and will ABSOLUTELY never use U-HAUL AGAIN!Bob C.
