I have to say, I'm kind of a loyal customer of U-Haul since I moved to LA. I have used u-haul's trucks many times before to help me move my stuff, and I was satisfied the first few times until this time, at your third partner pickup location. I made a reservation through the Uhaul website two days ago to pick up my 9' Cargo Van at The Auto Nest 645 Glendora Ave La Puente, CA 91744 on Monday at 4 pm. I found the car I needed to rent but needed someone to give me the keys before I could drive it away. So I started looking around for someone and saw the phone number online and on their door, but no one answered, so I finally called Uhaul headquarters and was told to notify the owner. About five minutes later, the store owner came back. More than 40 minutes had passed from the time I arrived at the pickup location to the time the shopkeeper returned, which would have been fine if it was the usual, but today I was in a hurry, and being more than 40 minutes late at this time proved to be the end of all my arrangements for the day. Honestly, as a customer I was angry, I watched the merchant drive by with my hands on my chest and a tight frown while your third party partner got out of the car and came at me in diameter, I wasn't sure if he was going to hit me or what. I asked the question 'Aren't you guys open today? ' He didn't answer me and I said I had an appointment at 4pm today. What happened next was the most absurd, ridiculous, and somewhat helpless thing I've ever experienced in the U.S. This owner told me to rent a car somewhere else, that he wasn't renting to me anymore, and called the police to tell me to leave. I was stunned. I didn't think the customer's status would be so low. The customer paid to be shut out of the door for 40 minutes, and the early arrangement was about to be ruined, and to ask the customer to send a smile in this situation? Afterward, the police came, the police handcuffed me and asked what happened, and after checking things out they released me, and the police were helpless. I would like to ask when a person has a certain identity, he is responsible for certain things. In this case, when a private businessman decides to be a third-party partner of another company, he should be responsible for his third-party partner's customers. I think it is very poor practice to leave a customer at random at work to wait 40 minutes without direct contact.I also got this third party counterpart Uhaul manager named Gary Smith, who I called after the police uncuffed me. In his mouth, it was a two-sided story, and I believe very much in his relationship with this third party, because Gary is the manager in charge of their part, and I understand very well what he said about the two-sided story, everyone sees it differently. If my fault is: why let the merchant see that you are angry? Then this third party process lies in not being responsible and shoplifting. Again, to be honest, everyone is very busy no one has time to spare to find trouble. I didn't get a word of apology from the beginning to the end because the merchant greatly affected the customer, Uhaul just told me to go elsewhere to get the car, and in the conversation with Gary Smith, it was as if I caused it all. I would like to say that the merchant can be irresponsible, and the customer can not show a little not to open up, I can only say, sorry, my mental quality is not that strong. I have kept part of the video and part of the recording of the phone call with Gary smith. I can provide it if needed.BOWEN C.

I walked in with a reservation # for my storage unit. I presented to Kevin who was working the front desk & he said my reservation was invalid & they were fully booked. He completely denied to provide me customer service. I then called customer service where they assured me they had numerous storage units available & were sure of Kevin being unprofessional. I tried once again with Kevin & he again denied to attend me & recommended me going next door with a competitor business. That’s when Norman stepped in to help me & immediately rented me out a storage unit exactly what i was looking for. Thank you Norman! They charged me for two days even though I returned the equipment within 24hrs. Had to sit on the phone over an hour to get that straightened out. This is after I was sent to this location which is an hour from my house so 4 hours total out of my way because the rental I had originally secured and was supposedly guaranteed got rented out to someone else. Overall pretty lousy experience. Most of the people I had to deal with were friendly and helpful (once I finally got hold of them) some were not so much.Cory D.

Uhaul truck I rented was not clean, infact previous person to rented the truck was sick and uhaul employees did not remove the scent of vomit from the truck before they rented the truck to me, also I did not receive a dolley as I had requested. I had to buy Saniwipes (professional grade disinfectant wipes) to remove the stench but it barely made a dent because the smell was trapped inside, also I had reserved a dolley online but when I got there they told me that they were all out because people weren't returning them. Not a good experience and unprofessional from their staff to release a truck with that type of problem during Covid, I would like my money back from this negative experience to undue what I had to endure, the only reason this wasn't an issue initially is because the truck was brought up to me as soon as i was walked out. I had notice a bad smell when i did get to the driver seat but would have never thought it was inside the truck because it was brought up to me by an employee Manny or Manuel, all I thought at first was that the smell was coming from the area outside as I was pulling away in a hurry but it became apparent that the smell was inside the truck as I kept driving. I will add that I know the truck wasn't cleaned with much detail not only because of the smell but also because I found the previous renter's paperwork still on the truck who was a man from Pomona, CA according to the information on the sheet of paper, this is why I will not recommend people to this location as it is not hazard friendly during these tough times.ERIK R.

The 26' truck had dirty windows and needs some maintenance. The windows rattle , the whole cab shakes. It was almost difficult to see the side mirrors because they also shake (not safe). The rear linkage bangs when you put it in reverse. Other than that the service was good . Got me in and out very quickly.RODOLFO C.

Prefer to have received the Uhaul with a full tank of gas (rather than the quarter tank I received) because then I don't have to worry about filling-up until the very end and I don't have to guess how much gas until it's at a quarter tank (if I need to return it with a full tank, it's easier). Instead, I ended up going over a full tank and Uhaul got free gas on my dime. Also, they didn't have the dolly I reserved. It was nice that they offered my the appliance dolly at the same rate, but that dolly is overkill (which is why I didn't want it in the first place for our needs) and just ended up getting in the way. Also, the driver side rear mirror was kind of loose and would sometimes move on rough road / train tracks. Then, on the opposite hand, the passenger side rear mirror was really stiff and hard to adjust. Everyone who worked there was very helpful though which compensated for the other faults hence the average rating.ANDREW C.

Unfortunately, I left very disappointed. Due to the pandemic I was forced to move my stuff out because I could no longer afford the bill. Closing out at the end of the month per my contract and always following rules I was forced with out sympathy and consideration to pay $5 for a key card I no longer had. The manager threatened to leave my account open until I came back with the $5 and told me “you have 6 days before you get charged a full months rent” (I didn’t have money because I was unemployed and barely surviving. A little compassion goes along way and I’m almost certain your company wouldn’t have went belly up by waiving the fee. God have mercy on this world. I reserved a unit so I could change to a larger unit from 1466 to 1612. When I arrived everyone was friendly and helpful but the new unit I had paid for was still occupied. I was told there was a delay in the previous occupant moving out and asked the staff to contact me when the unit was available. No one called to notify me but instead I received a call that I had left my existing unit unlocked at this time I asked about the new unit and was told it was empty. Storage size of units not accurate. Should haVe said approx size. Misleading. I wouldn't have expected this from uhaul. Also was not allowed to actually physically view the space to be rented until I rented it. Felt that they were trying to pressure me and hide something. Explanation was that prospective renters might move in before signing agreement. I asked for them to have an employee open unit so I could view it due to advertised space size discrepancy. Was told no way that would happen so I signed agreement and was escorted to space and it was already unlocked. If I wasn't under some personal time restraints I would have walked out Certainly not what I expected from uhaul after my multiple year dealings with your company. Really gave me a bad feeling.i also got a couple of other surprises as well both when i went to rent a van and to rent the storage space that I found very aggravating If you want to talk to me about those I will discuss them over the phone.
