Peggy WThe check-in process was incredibly frustrating. Despite having good reception, the U-Haul app kept crashing, and I was left on hold for a staggering 30 minutes just to complete the check-in. When I finally connected with a representative, she mentioned that Sundays tend to be busy, but it’s puzzling why they wouldn’t staff appropriately knowing this recurring issue. Additionally, I was promised a $50 credit for the inconvenience, but to date, I haven’t received any follow-up on that offer. Also, if you are under 6 ft tall, you are going to have issues getting into the lockbox where the truck key was kept.
Kevin MMy Uboxes were infested with mice! I will never use U-Haul again! My things were damaged and covered in mice feces! There were dead mice inside one of my boxes! I can’t believe they have people pay hundreds of dollars a month only to have their things infested and covered in mouse shit!

We had it for not even two hours and never touched the ceiling of the van yet they're accusing me of the damages. I had one item in the van and now they're making me pay for damages that were there before me. This is bullshit. Never recommending anyone to this location.

Daniel HThe vehicle was an older truck and the ignition where you put the key in was really, really hard to turn enough to start the engine. On returning the vehicle, I told the person about that. I hope it gets fixed before the next person has to rent it. Also, the back gate was difficult to lift and lower. Those wheels could use a little grease/oil. I did not point that out to the person checking me back in. The service checking out and returning was very good.

Noel MThe employees need to brush up on their customer service speaking skills. Not only lack of explanation about ANYTHING.. I Either forgot my ID on the counter or the employee didn’t give it back to me, either way had I not went back the next day I never would have known THEY had it.. when I got to the location no one was in the store, appeared to be only 1 person working anyway.. but I saw them walking outside and followed them around for quite a while saying “excuse me” rather loudly a few times.. before they finally got to their destination and realized I was there did they turn off their ear buds and just look at me.. I used to work for the scheduling dept right above this location.. and I’m at a loss for words right now. Ear buds should be limited to 1 ear and not cranked so loud you can’t hear anyone around you.. employees should also carry a better device off some sort so customers can buzz someone from the desk.. I’m disappointed in this whole experience with using U-Haul for my move.. from the truck, truck issues, this was just the icing on the cake. Thank god for Kayla, Lynette & Kala (TCM) for being the ONLY positive

Mary KThe back of the truck I rented had not been cleaned. There was broken glass, screws on the floor, a dolly rolling around, and other assorted debris. I called in to report this once I was at my destination and lifted up the door on the storage area of the truck. I was quite disappointed with this and felt I should have been offered a reduced charge for the very dirty truck I had rented.

DON WI originally reserved the vehicle at a location closer to me, so I estimated ~10 miles of use, and minimal gas usage as well. 30 minutes before my pickup time I was contacted that the vehicle I reserved would not be available and my reservation had been transferred to a location further away. I confirmed with this person that I would no be responsible for usage miles over 10, as your inability to fulfill a reservation is not my problem. I am already being inconvenienced by having to drive further to get the vehicle, anything beyond that is UHaul's problem. When I went to pick up the vehicle the employee there refused to waive any mileage that would be incurred over the 10 miles. I wasn't in the mood to argue because I had stuff to do with the vehicle and didn't have time for it so I accepted the vehicle. I am writing to tell you that I am really annoyed by this. I know what the word reservation means, apparently you do not.

Robert BI wish the size description of the truck were more accurate. There are wheel wells, a gas tank bump out, and the upwards rolling door which restrict packing of larger furniture items into the truck. So, the interior dimensions provided can not be relied upon for actual placement of furniture. I had to lay an armoire on its side and disassemble a shelving unit entirely rather than stand up them up straight, even though the listed dimensions implied that they would fit upright. I think the interior dimensions of the 10' rental truck need to be updated on the UHaul website. Also, the back of the rental truck was supposed to be swept with a broom, but my truck had gritty dirt all over the floor. That was easily corrected, but I shouldn't have had to sweep it myself imo. The fully loaded truck drove 1200 miles across the country without incident, which is the important part and I appreciate very much.

I called and was told I could get reimbursed for not having one, but when I dropped the trailer off, I was told I couldn’t be reimbursed. At this point, I still have no been.

Luckily I had my own dolly and they were nice enough to let us use couple blankets for free. Overall, a really good experience in way less expensive than I was expecting. I'll be using them again.

There seems to be plenty of real estate, yet the outdoor storage facility was built the worst spot possible. I've never been to storage facility that had only one way access to my storage garage. I definitely would not recommend it.

I would understand if the service were outstanding or if anyone helped you move your stuff into your storage unit, but it was a pretty run-of-the mill experience. Clearly, U-Haul is in financial ruin and desperately needs the extra cash. I hope the company survives the next quarter.

William H | Overall ExperienceWe rented two 10' X 15" units and were able to get down to one a few years ago. In total we were with you for over 5 years. The management and workers were always good to deal with and allowed me to pay a year in advance to save some money. There were times in the past whan homless people would come in to get warm and use the rest room but your management solved that by putting in an extra check in process so only renters could get in. The biggest problem we had was lighting inside the unit. The new company we went with has an overhead motion light inside our unit and a full size garage style door that lets in more light.

I think a temperature range of 40F-80F in the climate controlled area is a bit wide, but other than that things were great. Staff were very helpful and made the move in and move out process easy and were stellar in getting me from an upstairs unit to a ground level one. if it wasn't for the fact that I'm moving out of state I would still be renting a storage space.

The door wouldn’t open up all the way so I had to duck under each time going in or out of the unit. When I would finally get it closed, after fighting with it to shut the left side would be out of the track and open enough to get access to my stuff. I just got my belongings out and moved them somewhere else as soon as I could. The facility was clean and well lit and a staff member did help me with the door the first time. He was friendly and helpful

She took time to help me find a different locker that was more convenient and what we needed, she was extremely helpful, pleasant and courteous despite what seemed like being understaffed, extremely busy and it was over 90 degrees outside. The UHaul experience has definitely gotten better over the years, but the great online tools combined with someone like Anne made for an above average transaction and experience.

Bradley S | Overall ExperienceThe move in experience itself was poor. The directions for finding the unit should have included a letter identifying the row in which the unit could be found. The map should contain the same alphabetical row lettering as in the storage building itself. I spent a massive amount of time trying to find the unit. The unit was secured against entry, I could not open it, no one answered the phone when I called the desk, I wandered around until I found a call box, someone came and opened the unit, the provided lock did not work, I had to go to the desk to exchange the lock, the swipe access card did not work properly, and I had to return to the desk to address that. In the future, take the customer to the unit rented, make sure the unit opens, and make sure the provided lock works. Everyone was helpful, but more up-front assistance should have been provided. This was a poor move-in experience.

I must have rented 15-26' trucks and 12 foot trailers. Should be a point system or something that if you rent storage for so long you can apply the points to rentals, Most likely do not have any affinity in the future for U-Haul. Think about it!!

When I arrived at the facility I was told the unit I reserved was not available and my reservation was not really a reservation and everything is first come first serve, but what do you know they have a more expensive unit available that is smaller then what i reserved, nice way to bait and switch and to upsell. I had movers meeting me there in 30 minutes, so i had no choice. Completely unethical way to upsell people. Avoid at all costs. The word games the friendly customer service person made were worthy of a skit on Saturday Night Live.

I called U-Haul and confirmed that my reservation was valid and they said yes. I added my nephew as an approved person to access the storage. When he arrived he was told that there wasn’t a reservation. 44 minutes later, I had to do everything online again. VERY frustrating that my nephew couldn’t get in quickly as we had planned. Very upset that the reservation number ‘wasn’t valid’ then annoyed that I had to restart all over online. Complete was of time. I’m thankful I only need to use the storage for a short amount of time.

daniel g | Overall Experience1-initially you gave me a unit on second or third floor. I’m 50, I can’t hall a couch and chair up 2 flights and down a very long hallway. I asked for a closer one and there was one available. Thank goodness. But why did I have to ask. Person should have recognized my lack of muscle power 2- my card never worked after hours 3- when closing account, I was in a hurry as I rented a pick up truck and I was being charged. Your person was in the bathroom for a very long time and there was nobody at the check out desks. I was waiting 5 plus minutes. Thankfully Menards didn’t charge me the 10 minutes I went over for the truck rental. And my card didn’t work picking up my stuff and your person was very slow walking to let me in. Train your people to hustle. Overall a very bad experience.

But we were taking stuff out of our unit during access hours when no one was there and accidentally locked our keys/key card inside the building. In any case there seems to be very poor moral. Ok, the puddle in the back of the truck wasn't water, it was motor oil. I cleaned that mess up. And, are the key cards not activated? Alarms going off everywhere. An employee said don't worry. Remember, moving is very stressful. You made it worse. Also, when picking up the truck early in the morning, it was a total surprise that we needed to call someone! Unacceptable. I could go on. Bad experience all around.

Reserving a unit online does not guarantee that they will have that unit available for the dates you selected. My "15 minute" check-in took one hour... and I was at the front of the line. The new staff was very confused about basic check-in procedures and I had several unpleasant encounters. Would not recommend going to this location!

Monthly rent should be prorated when that happens. I asked the local place and they said to call U-Haul. I called U-Haul, and they said to check with the local place. I have now been told that the rental contracts don’t state that. Very unfortunate, especially during Covid times when things are tougher on people

Sonya L | Overall ExperienceI reserved a unit online on Monday and went in on Wednesday, the date I'd chosen to start my lease, only to be told that the unit had already been rented. What's the point of reserving a unit if the reservation doesn't mean anything? Why even bother having that feature on the website? The location was what I was looking for and the staff were helpful and patient with my frustration so I rented a similar unit upstairs but not having the original unit I signed up for was a big disappointment. We move into our house we won't be using Uhaul for any other of our moving needs due to this.

While the facility is well lit, the storage unit itself is not and since we had a unit at the end, it was very dark, thus requiring us to bring a light in on each visit. The hours for access is also inconsistent with signs. You think you can access it anytime with the key card but that only opens certain doors and outer doors are locked. The unit has a mouse trap and there's definitely some rat droppings when we moved out. On our last day to move out, our unit was locked as if we did not pay the rent and we did. Staff apologized and did not know why that was the case. All in all, I say it is an OK experience.

I’ve experienced long wait times when contacting the office, as well as long waits in the office despite there being an abundance of employees in circulation. I would hesitate before using this service again. In fact, this was the entire reason I moved the contents of my home to a location over 45 min away.
