Slight delay in starting my hitch from my appointment at 11:45 but no big deal. Your service rep Layne is just an amazing person - happy, positive and smiling with great people skills. I really enjoyed dealing with her. She gives an extremely positive impression of UHaul so you should give her a raise!

The app is no good I still had to go in the store to pick up the vehicle, I had to change vehicles because the one they gave me have more miles then was signed put to me. The girl at the counter couldn't figure out how to adjust and she entered my phone number in wrong so I didn't get any messaging. Then after a 45 minute session at the store when I got to my first stop the truck stalled. I had to call the roadside number because the uhaul.com/help didn't have a roadside section as instructed only to find out there is a unique way to start the truck. Today was a very frustrating day to use uhaul, the only thing good about it was dropping it off and the person there checking in the vehicle for me.

like all UHaul locations we've been to, this one was not only short-staffed, but the one person who was working there wasn't even a normal employee of the location. They had our truck, but the dolly and blankets we ordered were nowhere to be found. The employee told us the equipment was on a first come, first serve basis, even though UHaul guarantees that reserved equipment will be available. The rest of my comments about our rental are about UHaul as a company, not this location specifically. - incredibly long wait times whenever you call - person we booked the rental with on the phone made no mention at all about a mileage limit on the rental, or a surcharge for going over that limit. First we heard about it was when we called to extend the rental. What's ludicrous is that if you rent the truck for one day, or three, the allowed mileage is the same. How does that make any sense? - Trucks are good but for crying out loud, it's 2019 -- why don't these things have backup cameras? Most people who rent these trucks will be inexperienced with large vehicles, and a camera would help avoid the worst mishaps.

Employees should tend to customers before cracking jokes with other employees. the fuel level should be more carefully checked as the level on the contract was stated higher than the actual level in the vehicle to avoid overcharging customers. i would recommend all vehicles are filled to max so that it is easier for customers to fill it back up before returning instead of having to calculate the fuel to fill.

I would not recommend U-Haul and I am very disappointed for that matter. They changed my pick up location to a very inconvenient one for my move with less than 24 hours notice and they also did not have the furniture moving dolly I requested and reserved in stock. This is totally unacceptable especially after reserving the truck and dolly three days prior to pick up. There is no excuse for this as customers are depending on the equipment and location reserved to make their already stressful moving plans run smoothly. Luigi Spada

The 2 front office clerk on duty AM hours on July 18th are very rude to customers including me. As a proud business owner I would not tolerate such attitude in my company. I spoke to your GM about their lack lustre attitudes. I hope this issue of poor custom service us redressed.

I found the amount of time checking in and dropping off excessive. We booked ahead and arrived at 10:00 sharp, and we're only able to leave around 11:00. Dropping off was not much better clocking in at 45 minutes. Otherwise facilities were very clean, equipment worked perfectly, most staff were friendly and helpful. Keep up the good work and hopefully shorten those wait times.

Improvement suggestion is for the U-Haul organization to review content on their website regarding hitch installation and clearly state installation wait times are dependent on first come first serve. Staff did their job just fine. While waiting for my hitch installation, I observed 3 instances where other customers were being abusive to U-haul staff in my opinion. 1st observation: male, white, 50-60. He was in for a hitch installation, whined constantly about why he had to wait so long, upset that staff could not provide a ETA, constant whining. Then asked staff how can he get to work downtown, then asked about renting a truck. Constant whining. He basically blamed U-haul staff for his short shortsightedness, his lack of organization and not being prepared. 2nd Observation: Male, black, 40-50. Observed he was feeding off the first instance above (he was in the store at the sametime as the first observation). He was loud complaining about some discount he should have received, then made everyone in store hear his proclamation "that the customer is always right". Referring to the gentleman in 1st Observation. Which I don't agree with depending on the circumstances. He later returned his rental and fed off the 3rd observation (below) advising that he was going to complain to U-Haul. This individual struck me as someone that just enjoys complaining. 3rd Observation: 2 males, Middle Eastern. There was some confusion about pricing/he said/she said. One of these males identified himself a lawyer, he basically called the staff member a liar and keep asking her to admit she lied. Disgusting behaviour for a human being let alone a lawyer (if he was in fact a lawyer). I should have video recorded it and posted it on a social media channel that catered to the legal community to show them why Lawyers get a bad rep when they behave like this in public. I'm wondering if it is normal for this particular U-Haul location to get alot of whiners/complainers. I commend the U-Haul staff for their patience, advising of policy and keeping their cool when bullied by customers. The Hitch installer was very good, he took the time to wire my hitch properly and took the time to explain how it works and what he would be doing for my vehicle and then testing it in front of me, This is the 2nd time I've had a hitch installed at a U-Haul and would do it again as well as recommend to friends and family.

I was very disappointed with my experience here. I booked a 26’ truck 5 weeks in advanced to find out that it is not available the morning of my move and only a 20’ was available. I had to call someone with a trailer to help me fit all of my stuff. Someone could have called me the night before and have arranged for another 26’ truck to be available. The 20’ truck I had should have been given to me at a discount or 2 trucks should have been offered to me equaling 26’ in length at lease.

i was initially given a quote on a half hour labour charge but when i arrived it was changed to .8 of an hour. in reality it took less than 30 mins but when i asked about this they said that they're unable to change it. i got charged more than i should have and the lady at the register agreed with me. sucks that i still had to pay extra....

Originally told to go to a location that did not have commodities for 20ft trucks. This led to me driving around different uhaul locations for 20 mins looking for the right one. Dont you know beforehand which locations are suitable for the truck I'm renting?

The counter service was sooo poor i didn't feel to go back and complain about the installation issues. 1) i was charged approx 50 CAD more than estimate 2) there was major scratch in the interior of my car. It was a fresh scratch and the technician wouldn't accept the fault. 3) over all quality was poor on ho they handed the car back 4) toyota highlander is a very common car and i didn't have any customization to increase complexity

The customer service was very slow when I was there. I arrived at 10am in the office, behind 5 people, and it took 70 minutes before I was helped. On the other hand, the team working outside was VERY nice and I enjoyed working with them. But the wait inside the office was very long and frustrating.

I had a reservation for 8am, I got there at 7:45 for the mobile pick up and the truck wasn't there! After 1:45h on the phone with a confusing customer service, I was told to go to another location to pick up a smaller truck! Which caused me to make 2 trips to complete my moving and with 8 hours extra to the moving crew (which U-haul doesn't want to pay). Terrible service, Run from U-HAUL.

The vehicle I rented had a rear flat tire. I only noticed this after the truck was loaded. I feel that the truck was not properly checked by Uhaul prior to me renting it. I had to seek out compressed air to fill the tire during my move which was an inconvenience. The tire repeatedly went flat. I feel that I should not have to pay in full for my rental as it caused me concern throughout my move.

When I picked up the trailer, the bed had a lot of debris in it (broken glass, plastic, dirt and dried vegetation). I removed this debris before I returned it so I wouldn't be charged for cleaning it up. I received a text message containing a link that implies that the trailer I rented had sustained some damage during the time I rented it. This is not correct as my move lasted only about an hour and was uneventful. The customer service area of the location is hard to navigate because of all the storage boxes stored in the area. Kind of like walking through a warehouse. This area needs to be better organized. I did do the online Express Check-in, and this was helpful and is a time saver.

This was my third time renting a truck from Uhaul but this truck was not only much more expensive than the others, it also didn't feel as safe to drive (on the highways the steering wheel/shocks felt unstable) and the back door was difficult to open and close.

I booked a 10 foot truck , I have an email that says the truck has been reserved and guaranteed . In the morning I went to check in and my reservation was change to a 9' cargo van. This is the second time you guys changed my reservation. The 9' van was too small to fit all my stuff and I had to make 2 trips. Stop changing my reservations especially if your email says it's reserved and guaranteed. My moved took an extra hour to finish because of the second trip

When I brought back the van - I had to wait 15 minutes for somebody to check it. When I asked a couple of workers standing around - one told me to wait, another told me to leave the keys, and it was confusing. One worker yelled at me to leave the keys and leave - which left me confused and upset with the service. Will never rent from here again - and the workers were very rude.

I was blamed/charged for a damage I haven't done. The vehicle was not inspected properly after the previous return (they found scratches on the roof of the van when I returned it) or it was damaged by one of the employees between rentals and they changed me for the repair. My only fault was that I haven't thought about checking the roof of the van when I picked it up. Just note folks: when you rent something from this guys check the roof as well. I had bought insurance for the van but apparently that doesn't cover the repair for the scratches on the roof and they charged me for the repair.

Make sure you have the reserved item. They did not have our trailer that was reserved. We were lucky they had an unbooked trailer available. Head office needs to make sure the inventory is available at the particular location before booking item.

EZ Ramp is not working properly. We just managed to pull out the EZ Ramp a couple of inches and then it get stucked. Reported it to uHaul contact centre but they did not resolve the issue.

I booked a 6by12 closed trailer. The system had me for an open back. I also booked for 4 days and the system had me for 3 hours. I was told that the person behind me had priority and had to return it by 7:30 same day. I thought that was very unfair. I ended up going to Ajax where i was told had a trailer once again open back which was no good. I came back to warden in desperation mode and had to settle for a cube van at twice the rate just to go to Brampton to pick up furniture. That was when my frustration boiled over when the reality of the injustice that i was facing hit me. I was paying 2 times more for 4 hours than i would have for the trailer for 4 days. I am paying for u hauls mistake. I don't have access to the system so i though anything wrong would be dealt with as u haul error but they made me feel as if i was the one in the wrong. I had no choice i had to pick up my stuff and go with my last option and twice the price. My out of town trip that took me weeks to orchestrate had to be cancelled. Thanks to u haul my Canada day weekend plans were screwed. The funny thing about this is i was told when i am renting the cube van that they will not give no discount after i explained my situation. I found that disgraceful that a company as big a s u haul don't have a better policy for customers in my situation. SHAMEFUL. This was my worst customer service experience in years. F F F

When a customer reserves your equipment in advance and also calls to confirm before picking up the equipment the staff should ensure that the equipment is there by a physical check. I had to wait for an hour and a half while a staff member drove to another town to pick up the trailer. We only got satisfaction after my wife was on the phone for an hour with customer service and was finally transferred to the regional manager.

The line up was long and slow. Took over 30 min to pick up equipment with a reservation. Drop off was a disaster. I drove the truck <30 km and was charged 3 dollars because I could not produce a receipt for filling the tank. I filled it with a Jerry can from home that was previously purchased. The ramp was broken on the truck this delayed moving and resulting in damaged furniture. The check engine and fuel cap light were on I mentioned to one of the ladies who let me know the they knew and the truck still worked and the side mirror wound now adjust.

Have a lock at the rear loading door so things can be stored overnight. I placed the dolly and 4 wheel platform but there was no lock to secure them. Also left the unit at Veronica St in Cobourg as requested by you and key in the deposit box. Filled tank with $50.00 with a receipt on the dashboard. It would be nice to have a portable guard fence over the overhead loading area over the cabin so things won’t fall off when driving. Thanks Al Mendes Toronto On Canada

My comments are for my overall U-Haul experience: 3 weeks ago I rented a pickup from XYZ storage - was treated like a king, and the process was easy - it was also a quick trip for some Sod for my backyard. This was an extended mileage rental - which was reserved at the same location. An online update of mileage and quote took a long time - miles vs km's were NOT clearly delineated when inputting details, so this was annoying. Then there was a van issue, leading us to 1555 Warden Ave. Pickup was easy - although it took a few minutes to process and then be approved for my license pictures + find and slide open to lockbox. 4 phone calls in the afternoon were needed to "help" me not incur a $500 fee to return the vehicle to another location. I was given an extension on my rental period, and again had to explain the situation at dropoff, to avoid an extra $120 rate quote. Easy.... but not so easy...

When returning my vehicle in the middle of the day, there was no one around in the lot to check me in or let me know when someone would help me, and when the guy finally showed up after waiting over 15 minutes, he couldn't find my rental in the system when he checked his phone and wasn't very friendly. I had to go inside to the counter and the woman there was very friendly and helpful and took care of everything quickly.

First off all they billed me for 2 days and I just rented for 6 hours. I picked up my truck at 7pm and returned at 12:03am. When I called the customer service the lady was very rude did not want to listen and she was cutting me off and showing her rude attitude I had to fix my bill and this lady did not want to complete me phrases. This lady should not work as a customer care. Secondly I have filled the file tank but on top of it they have charged me $15. I think your staff should know what to charge from customer and also how to talk to the client. I am very disappointed with you service. Very bad experience for me never again. Pls escalate this issue to the Manager or higher authority.

I understand renting a pick up truck is kind of a gamble with a moving company but the one I got was all banged up and you could clearly tell it was used as a salt truck in the Winter. For what I payed it would have been nice not to get such a dirty salt stained truck. Next time I'd rather spend the extra $40 and just use enterprise.

My gas level was correct , for one day u-haul ( in city)charged me $5 which should $1a day.after 3 times when to u-haul location , call and email , finally got a credit back. ( you never find the Manager At location on 1555 warden Scarborough, didn’t wast you’re time.

Next time they should have staff go out with the customer and check the km and gas together instead of rushing because its the end of the day. My truck was at 20,008 kms and on the paper it said it was at 21,008. That's a free 1000kms i recieved. I tried to inform staff they just said correct it and go. I found that very unprofessional. So i just corrected it and left. The gas was correct.

First off, I booked my 5x8' trailer at the Civic Auto in Scarborough. Show up, there isn't a trailer there. I had to go inside the mechanic garage to find someone to assist me. After waiting 10 mins (he was fixing a car), the man came inside and checked the computer and told me that my assigned trailer had been a 3day rental and he's not sure why they would book me a trailer that was already reserved. I then called Uhaul directly where the gentleman on the phone said that its showing on his computer that the trailer should be there. I told him I was standing at the location and that the man was telling me its been rented for 3 days. He then transferred me to scheduling to see if they could get me another trailer. I got Shamini on the phone. She was SO RUDE TO ME UNECESSARY. She started to raise her voice because I told her that I would be returning the uhaul after hours and she was telling me I would be charged for two days. It turned into a yelling match because I couldn't understand why she was raising her voice at me, when Uhaul was at fault for double booking the trailer. I then asked to speak to someone else since she wasn't helping me. She placed me on mute for 6 mins. I refused to hang up the phone and yelled that she transfers me immediately. She eventually got a colleague on the phone, who booked a new trailer for me at the Warden/401 location. I told the agent when happened with Sharmin and she totally dismissed my feelings and complaint. So now my entire evening was turned upside down as I wasn't able to pick up the items I needed in time with the trailer. I went to the new location around 7:40pm. The staff was having loud inappropriate conversations to each other but loud enough for me to hear. Then after I paid and checked out for my trailer. I waited for 25 mins until I had to come out my car looking for someone to hook up the trailer. After I finally found a girl, she said that they're closed. I said I was waiting for 15 mins (I had cashed out 5 mins before they closed). She said she was busy doing something (she was closing up the trailer installation garage and that she would have to call someone else). I waited ANOTHER 10 mins before a man came (so now 25 mins wait time). While he was hooking up the trailer, I was inside my car, he yelled to me to "check the lights". I asked him if he meant I had to get out of the car and check them myself. He said yes. I asked him since when are clients responsible for checking out the connections for themselves? He told me "I had to." At this point, I'm extremely frustrated with ALL the different angles of poor service that I have been receiving over the phone and in store. I am a long term client of Uhaul and rent trailers almost every weekend. 4 weeks prior, my trailer dettached on the highway and I have called both the location as well as customer services to file a complaint as my entire trailer connection is loose. I have not been able to speak to anyone about it as I keep getting the
