The manager tried her best but the entire process was a disaster. One of the staff put me down for a date or a hitch install but never ordered the part.. So the manager sent me to another site to have it done, but he didnt have the right parts either so had to order them and that took 4 more days past my move date. Then after getting the hitch installed, they gave me a trailer to use only to find it had a lock on it and no key. So i had to drive it back in to get the lock removed before i could start loading for my move. Once i moved i got pulled over in Texas because the chains were sagging and the upper left taillight was out. Very sloppy! They said they set everything up and it was a joke since day 1. The manager tried but the service was just a hot mess. Many mistakes, pushing my moving date by a week and all around disorganized. Horrible experience.Bill M.

Don't know why U-Haul has gone full inconvenient mode on established long loyal customers, but I'm not liking the taking pic of my drivers license EVERYTIME I rent, and seemingly redo of customer information everytime I rent. So, I've started looking at alternative solutions such as Penske and Home Depot (which I've already used twice). Lastly, my most failed rental attempt at the Cave Creek and 101 location in Phoenix resulted in the employees seemingly snickering at my anger of not having a rental truck available for me to check out. This used to be my go to location, but like how I dropped every form of AT&T services in 1994, I won't step foot in this location again. BTW, the lady yesterday said all the new procedures are a result of so many trucks being stolen. Really? So you're going to punish all customers, even the vetted ones of 30+ years. The young lady that took care of us at the counter was magnificent! She was fast and friendly. She made sure we locked in a storage space so we wouldn't end up empty handed on Saturday when we planned to move in. She even went to out the lock on and returned the keys to us. I would like someone to contact me regarding the incompetence and disrespect I dealt with last week at your camelback location. I imagine that most people seeking your services are having some sort of issues be it personal or financial. The stress can be overwhelming and this pandemic isnt helping matters. I am trying to keep this short. I called the 800 customer service line Sunday night for assistance as the office closed while we were there. I was given a unit that still contained belongings from someone else. Although it was just a few items, solid wood head and foot boards and a marble top coffee table, they were extremely heavy. I was given a smaller unit than i had originally reserved and since it was not empty, my stuff wouldnt fit so i called the customer service line. I explained the situation and the agent advice was to take truck back to my house as its still full and wait for gm to contact me the next day or i could lock the truck (which i would have had to leave the premises to purchase another lock) and leave it there and pray noone breaks in and steals anything. That made me extremely nervous as that is a high crime area and most items in the truck belonged to my mother. I explained to agent my dilemma and that the house is 65-70 (one way) miles from the storage and truck rental and I could not afford the gas or the over mileage and extra day charges. She assured me that I would not be charged as this was not an error on my part and I did was I was supposed to do. When the gm did contact me the next day, she was rude and demanding. She must have said at least 3 times that I was affecting someone elses trip and plans that had nothing to do with this. Well you know what, that mishap put me and my family behind by 2 days and she would not hear anything when I was explaining to her what customer service told me my options. She charged me for the extra days and mileage AND it cost me $120 in gas, 6 hours driving instead of 3 and to top it off she treated me so poorly that I literally was in tears that anyone especially a manager would so openly humiliate a paying customer . I cant imagine treating anyone the way she did to me. I feel sorry for her employees if this is standard practice for her, she needs to understand that she isnt better than anyone else and it is ridiculous that uhaul allows this behavior from a manager. I also would like to know what is happening with my account please. It is unlawful and unfair to tell a customer they will not be responsible for charges and then manager decides to keep your deposit and charge your card without permission. I expect a refund immediately as she had zero right to keep my deposit as well as run my card to cover the balance. I did what I was told to do and I expect uhaul to do what they said they would, I dont feel that is too much to ask. I would also like to know what will be done to reimburse me for all the extra gas that I had to pay for, Im sure she told me that was something else I was not responsible for. When picking up the truck everything was fine. I dropped it off 8 hours later at 4:30 the same day although I had rented it for 24 hours. The man at the counter said that he would be sending me a receipt within 5 minutes. I didn't get one until 10:08am the next day and they charged me a $20.00 after hours drop off fee. How is it possible to hand an employees the keys if its after hours. I'm sure there is video in the store and I can be seen on the video. I would appreciate it if that 20.00 fee was removed. It's not right to charge a customer a fraudulent charge.Cheryl A.
i ordered an 8' pick up and arrived to only 10' box. i'm 6'6" and my knees are jammed in the 10' box; I ordered an 8'; if it wasn't available; i should've been directed/offered a nearby location that has the truck available. (sure, I could've ordered earlier, in advance...) but it remains that i ordered an 8' truck ; and got a 10' box; i should have been made aware of this... it reduced my ability to perform my expected tasks; ugh... also, someone promised me credit for my meal; up to $20 since it took longer than 3 hours to help me after i locked the keys in the vehicle a couple of weeks ago... in a perfect world; me as regular customer; i think u-haul should refund my costs on the surprise-truck-swap-last-minute... and when i asked about the vehicle on the lot; the clerk was offended that i had questions...Bryce... and he didn't have basic answers....but after calling corporate; Bryce did call to confirm that the 8' pickup was picked up; thank youCharles H.

Park the trucks in a gated and locked area because the catalytic converters are getting stolen of the big trucks from the location at 43rd and camelback and the staff need to be sure to check the trucks before renting them out.BRIANNA G.
I had a reservation and they gave my unit to someone without a reservation. Then broken two units up to make up for it but then went to look at the units and one had a lock on it. They have no idea what they are doing and I was having a hard time due to my situation and I over heard the manager tell another employee idc I’m too busy because I was canceling. Was never informed of the facility's broken pipe, resulting in some water damage in the stored belongings. Also feels very unsafe inside and around the facility. Nothing done about homeless individuals camping/ parked in front of the entrances. The truck I received was all beat up with dings and scratches. The inside has a red sticky drink inside. Someone had smoked in the cabin - it smelled and there were ashes on the steering column. This location is very unprofessional and unorganized. They had lost our truck key when we got there to pick the truck up, then the person helping us was on the phone with his friends and they made him mad so he left us at the counter and walked away. Someone else asked us if we were being helped and they stepped in to finish what the original guy didn't finish. When we went to drop the truck off, there was a line of customers there. A bunch of employees sitting around joking while one employee was taking care of the line. The employees sitting around were very unprofessional in regards to the conversations they were having and being obnoxious in front of customers. Unfortunately, this location is one of the very few locations around me that has the size truck I need, so i will be going back here but i truly hope next time is a better experience.Taylor B.

The dolly wasn't in the truck before we left, so I'm glad we happened to check for that. It's also incredibly mind boggling to pay per mile and to have to fill the tank back to its original spot again. What's the point of paying per mile ???? When I went to the UHaul location to pick up the trailer and pay, they charged me $60 and told me 20$ of it was a refundable deposit that I would get back when I returned the trailer. Overall we have been happy with renting from U-Haul for the past five years for our college students. Our only complaint is the back of the Facility needs better cleaning and monitoring of people hanging out in the back.karin c. | First Impressions
As has now happened 3 times with different UHaul storage locations, I made a reservation online only to show up and it is not available. This is a very common problem with UHaul as they are allowed to overbook their units and can rent them out to someone else even though you have a reservation. It is absolutely maddening when you drive a full truck to a new location, arrive and not have anywhere to put your stuff. UHaul desperately needs to update their software to prevent this from happening. Nobody really seems to care though, they just say that it happens all the time and there is nothing they can do about it. We were lucky enough to get a different unit in this case, but it is not climate-controlled as we had reserved. Being as we will be storing electronics over a very hot Phoenix summer, we are not happy about this at all. But as they will tell you, there is nothing they can do.KAREN P. | First Impressions
