I waited in the left turn lane on 28th street for over a half hour to return my rental because the driveway was full of parked vehicles that needed to be moved to the back. It was very stressful and there is no way I would ever rent from this location again. Understaffed or disorganized. I'm not sure which but it is not acceptable.

Here's a suggestion. I just spent $1,000 on a 15 footer with tow dolly and had to spend an extra $100 just on straps and moving accessories. Why should I have to buy it..? At the least a couple straps & a few moving blankets should come with the rental. Especially when spending that kind of money

I reserved a 10 foot truck online from the Alpine Ave. location in Grand Rapids. I got confirmation emails as well. The morning of my move I got a call from the Alpine Ave location saying they actually didn't have that size truck available but the 28th St location did. So they changed my reservation to the 28th St. location. I then got a call from the 28th St store saying they also didn't have 10 foot truck but they could get a 20 foot truck and for $10 more. As this was about an hour prior to when I needed the truck I agreed. When I got to the 28th St store I explained that I was not happy that my reservation had not gone through like I had hoped. They did do right and gave me the rate for the 10 foot truck so that was good on their part. When I went to return the truck I had to wait in the turning lane of 28th street as there is only one lane to return trucks into and it was full. There was also only one person checking in trucks and he was spending a lot of time going through each truck before moving it to allow more trucks to come into the lot. That could have been better too.

The workers were very friendly and did a great job, management needs to understand that two employees can not handle the work load on the weekends. Had to want 30 mintues in line to pick up my uhaul even though I checked in online and when I returned my uhaul the equipment drop off line was filled all the way up. There was no more room to park. I asked the employees if it was always like this at this location and they said it's always like this on the weekends

We rented a cargo van for two days on weekend. The return on Sunday was awful. REALLY "one" employee in the store taking care of approx 8 standing in line to make returns! Will never rent from you again!!!!

Becasue of the rain,I specifically inquired if the 15 foot truck was in good condition. I was assured it was. It was not. When I reached my destination I found a hole in the root that resulted in wet wood flooring and cabinets. very frustrating.

Was a horrible experience. Had a reservation at 7:30AM and walked in to a line with no one at the counter helping us out. I later found out you only had 1 customer service representative working at this time. 5 minutes after I arrived, the line was to the door with several upset customers. You must know how many reservations you have on any given day so you should be staffed accordingly. My time was limited as I needed to be back to Grand Rapids by 3:30PM for my sons prom. Waited well over 30 minutes before I even was able to talk to someone about my reservation only to find out U-Haul had the wrong cargo van reserved for me. I was rushed packing up my daughter at Central Michigan and I was late from the picture session for my sons senior prom. I am not satisfied with the service and am not pleased with having to pay full price for the service level that was displayed. I would expect U-Haul to credit my account back half the amount I paid on Saturday April 22, 2017. This is the only thing fair in my mind.

I went on-line to reserve a trailer to haul a motorcycle. It stated some of the trailers have integrated chocks. Once the location of pick-up was confirmed, I called the location to verify it was a motorcycle trailer, and if the trailer was designed to hold one or two motorcycles. I was told that "Yes" all the trailers had the integrated chocks and that the trailer I reserved had them and that it could hold two motorcycles. When we arrived at the initial pickup location, the trailer did not have the chocks. We were sent to a different U-Haul location. The trailer they brought out did not have chocks. They finally found the right trailer, but it only had a chock for one motorcycle. U-Haul needs to do a better job of having the right equipment (that was reserved in advance) at the correct location. Plus, I called in advance to verify the equipment was as requested, and it was not. Very disappointing. It wasn't the fault of U-Haul at the Centerpointe location. But isn't the whole point of reserving in advance to have the correct equipment available for rental? Plus I called to verify, and was given incorrect information from the Burlingame location which was the original location to pick-up the equipment.

I rented the trailer on a Saturday, presumably the busiest day of the week for U-haul. There were only two guys working the counter. The line was out the door. At least in the morning hours, you need more people working.

When calling the local store the call is forwarded to another location who claims to be at the local store. The reservation was not communicated to the local store. had to wait get 1 hour for ubox.

My rental was a last minute decision and was the busiest day of the week. When I walked in there were several customers, so I was expecting a long wait. But the store was well staffed and the line moved quickly. Plus, the employees were pleasant in spite of the work load.

The biggest complaint that I have is that the insurance is a complete gouging rip-off. It was 50% of the rental price and while $10- does not sound like much you add it to the fee after fee after new fee and the price goes from reasonable to a bit ridiculous. Give a basic flat pricing and stop playing games.

pulling in to return truck would have been helpful to have on the sign that directed 'returns here '; to stay in vehicle or park and go in to complete return. There was a sign under canopy but it was not visible being 3rd in line.

The eastbrook 28th st location is my choice , I've rented equipment at a lot of locations, however 28th st , even tho it is a busy location, is the most professional, thorough and fast group they have. There's not a close 2nd. If you want to be in, get your equipment and out back to work, and installed properly, then that's where you go.

Was told on my initial call when renting a storage unit on the second level that there was an elevator available only to be told when arriving with all of our furniture that there was no elevator and no storage room available in the size I rented on the main level. The attendant was frustrated and said that the person who took my call doesn't work at their location and shouldn't have promised the elevator. I felt better knowing that all calls are recorded and was confident if checked that the promise was made by the UHaul person. Also, when pricing a truck rental or storage unit, I suggest that UHaul discloses all probable fees and expenses up front. I was not told on the phone that I'd have to buy a particular kind of lock for the storage unit.

I added enough fuel to make the gauge 3/4 but subjectively someone has to tell me that it is just under and will charge me $15. But he took 1/2 off to make me feel better. But in theory, it could be missing approx. 1 gallon of gas which is about $2.50. Whatever...it was a long hard day of moving and I didn't want to argue over $7.50, but I did just put 5 gallons of gas in truck and only drove a round trip of max 35-40 miles. If your trucks are supposed to get 10 mpg then you do the math...I did and that's why I added the extra 1 gallon to be over. My gas should have covered 50 miles round trip! Again...like I said long day...and I didn't want to get into an argument over $7.50, it was a matter of principle and Math!!

Poor service. Didn't have my online order correct at all. Nothing was ready. Had to ask three times for my TV box which was a joke... Just a box that expands with a small thing of foam in it... What a rip off. Truck drove terribly. Felt like the engine was struggling the whole time. Not to mention the whole outside looked like it had gone through a grinder.

They charged me $64.37 for an extra day when in fact I returned the truck the same day. It is not my fault that they checked it in after 9 am. They charged me for an extra day and an extra day coverage plus fuel charges. Would not recommend this location because apparently workers are slacking checking in truck/equipment on a timely manner and customers are stuck with the extra charges.

We rented trucks to move in and out of the West Michigan Home and Garden Show. We reserved them for the earliest we could get there. Without even texting us when we weren't there, you cancelled our reservation. Furthermore, if each truck comes with 6 blankets and I order 6, then I expect to find 12 blankets in the truck. Not impressed.

Pros: Reasonable monthly prices, clean. Cons: No lights, had to crawl in, not a 5x5 as stated, on 2nd fl with no elevator, staff not friendly and one guy in the back handling trucks was rude.

Everything was good but I wish there were lights inside the storage unit as I had to walk out to `trip` the hallway light on several times.

for 3 weeks of our storage rental, we did not have a security card for enterence. This was an inconvenience because that meant I had to go into the office and have someone unlock the door for me.

Had to purchase $10 Uhaul lock Then new lock did not fit latch to storage unit! Staff drilled out latch hole but this diminished integrity of latch. Oh well at that point I didn’t have another choice

Difficult to reach a person from the actual location instead of call center, the unit had a dirt floor all my furniture got dirty-pest trap in said unit. Moved to better facility
