The ladies renting out the trucks were not very helpful. I was a walk in asking to rent a truck and the lady behind the counter Thursday 1/7/2021 at 12:00 in afternoon. I asked if I could rent a truck and was told that they only did online reservations. I asked if they knew of any places that took walk-ins and they representative directed me to two other locations. I said thank you and was on my way. I thought it was obsurd that three trucks were out in the parking lot so i went to that locations website to see if there was an available reservation and there was. I waited for my reserved 1pm time and went in to pick up the truck. I dont think they were expecting me to be back in the store. I rented a dolly with the truck. No one brought the dolly out to me and i assumed it was already in the truck so i paid 7$ for a dolly that was not even given to me. I did not have a person come out to get the truck from me, i had to go in and give the key to the same person behind the desk. No one did a check of the vehicle with me. I was very disappointed and upset that the mention of trying to reserve the truck online wasnt given as an option. I only needed the truck for 1.5 hours. I had worked all night and needed to get a new washer and dryer moved to my house and i feel like the representative did not want to be bothered with renting out a truck and decided to defer me to save herself work. This is my first bad experience out of many cross country moves, many in city moves with uhaul.Catherine E.

I opted for the mobile pick-up, and even though it says head to the front of the line, I still had to wait a pretty minute just to pick up the key. If that could be worked out, everything will have been perfect. Still, I have no complaints. Awesome service.Ashley A.
Before I rent U-haul truck, the clerk asked me how many miles I will use? How I suppose to know how many miles I will use. Poor question!! I told him that I use U-Haul truck in local area. I was charged for going out of state. I picked the truck up at the appling and us64 location. I moved from Cordova to Bartlett. The employee was very helpful, courtious and seemed to actually care about me as an individual. The units behind the office entry and exit are not easy to load or unload when others are entering or exiting. My storage had a leak in it and damaged my mattresses also when I made my reservation for my uhaul I reserved a storage unit when I got there they said they didn’t have my reservation and the only unit available was way bigger than what I needed but only one available so of course couldn’t keep my stuff on the uhaul I was forced to rent the bigger unit paying more money and in return getting my beds damagedAmber S. | Overall Experience

Give better direction during the delivery of the truck. At my delivery location, the larking morning was small and it was a self return, so I didn't know exactly where to park the truck. Maybe say to the individual, â€œpark the truck where convenient and also not blocking any entrance, exit, or individual from leaving the premises. This experience was a nightmare from the very beginning between the girl hanging up on my husband, then getting a message that they had reported the truck stolen even though we had contacted them every single day, then they overcharged us by about $300 and charged a card that we repeatedly asked them not to charge that we would pay cash when we dropped the truck off horrible experience very disappointed and will never ever use U-Haul again. I've also called customer service I've talked to three different people the issues not being resolved and they haven't offered to try and fix it in any way they just keep saying we got the best price guaranteed I think notHeath K.

If a reschedule is required due to the extension of the previous customer needing the vehicle longer, the web options chosen seem to be reset to defaults. Very few pleasant service at the storage location on stage road. We had to rent a truck from another location. Truck rental was the worst experience at the location on Summer Ave Memphis we've - We were ask for a third person phone number NOT associated with the truck rental-that person unknown to us had a balance due..Your corporate office approved the rental.The Summers location did not. We went to Penske with our money, excellent service. Penske only needed my husband and I info and credit card not our random friends phone number. I would like to state the truth and the whole truth. Upon arriving, my wife met Dantonio, the manager of the facility, who was EXTREMELY HELPFUL! His service was quite pleasant and beyond exceptional. He went above and beyond to take care of my wife's concern's regarding hours which would accommodate our move, etc. -Just overall a great guy. Therefore, Dantonio should be exempt from this rating. The grounds were clean but the facility itself is really very old and honestly, out of 43 times of having to move, relocate, store items due to being a commander in the military, we have never seen an older facility. The positive side is, however, we have never visited a storage facility that had a unit so large. Maybe the unit size is normal but it surely works well for our needs. Now, I will proceed in telling you what our issues have been. Upon returning the truck, my wife received a telephone call from a young lady at the facility who, upon my wife answering, jumped down her throat (verbally), and alleged that we had smoked in the rental truck. My wife tried and tried to explain to the employee that she doesn't smoke, nor do I. Even more, my wive's father, who drove the truck, has medical conditions that would never allow smoke. We aren't sure if the cigarette butts were from the previous driver and city, but we are certain that neither of the three of us left cigarette butts in the vehicle. We cleaned the truck and refueled the truck. We were also under the mileage allowed to us, by approximately 45 miles. The employee informed my wife that she had been attempting to run our card (before speaking with us and ever allowing us an opportunity to hear her concerns or express our rebuttal). Luckily for us, Bank of America was quick to identify the duplicate attempts and block all charges. The employee stated that we had gone over our miles, but upon calling customer service, the agent clearly stated on U-Hauls recorded line that we were under our miles allowed, as I had informed the employee at the location. The employee also falsified information on our account that we had not refueled the truck. We hold fuels cards with two different well known gas stations and their both active with available credit. We fueled the truck up and returned the vehicle. Here's the thing: While the truck was being returned, the "same employee" never mentioned we were below the fuel. She walked around the truck with our person. She never found cigarette butts while in our presence, so honestly, I feel as if we are being manipulated. This isn't how you treat your customers, especially ones who have always used your services and who have..., might I add, never had problems with any other U-Hual location in the past. It surely isn't how you treat an active duty military family who has been pulled here and there, around the world, to fight for the good people of this country. My wife called customer service but still, we are receiving text messages that we have an outstanding balance at the location. We turned the truck in early and after we heard from the location, we called both the location and customer service and requested to go back to the location and clean these alleged butts. However, we never received a call back. A few days later, we received notification, via email, that we now have an outstanding balance at the location. This incident might end decades of us renting with U-Haul. We will consider Budget during our next move.
