Have truck and equipment ready for customer. Employee was rude and lazy. If you have more gas in the truck than what you got it they don't give any type of discount. Before leavening the location I had to put the hand truck in the truck. When the truck was returned employee made me take out the hand truck for the truck. Gas tank was not full when I picked up the vehicle, and was charged to fill the tank. Just curious if it got filled or left for next customer so they could be charged again.Mark B.
I rented a trailer for 24 hrs and returned it 2 hrs before the time limit. Received a receipt the next morning charging me additional $60 penalizing me for not having the trailer returned until the next morning. I called when I got the receipt, could not talk to the local location, was on hold for 20 minutes was told someone from local site would call. They did not. Called second time, on hold again, was told that they would enter my call as a dispute and someone would call w/i 3 days. Did get a phone call the following am apologizing and saying the overcharge would be refunded. Being able to call the local site directly would have made this process much simpler and avoided the on hold time.JAMES P.
The truck was not clean one bit. Very unhappy with it. This day in age with COVID-19 I would have expected it to be much cleaner. The guy working that day really didn't seem to even want to be there and wasn't friendly. If there is something I can say about Uhaul is that most people that work at almost every location I've been to are extremely grumpy and unfriendly people and seem very unhappy. I don't have any issue with the Bismarck location. The truck wasn't available in Bismarck, North Dakota. In fact, the truck wasn't in North Dakota at all. It was four hours round trip away from us in South Dakota. That required us to drive there (at our expense) and drive the truck back (also at our expense). The compensation we received? A free day and 120 miles. But that is NOT compensating us for the extra work and expense. That's just opting to not charge us for it. Compensation would be covering the time required to drive there and back. Compensation would cover the miles put on our vehicle. Compensation would cover the fuel costs associated with the truck relocation. These are all things that we would be expected to pay when using YOUR vehicle, but isn't covered when we use OUR vehicle to relocate YOUR vehicle. I understand the problem of one-way trip logistics, but the short notice and the general â€œDo you want the fucking truck or notâ€ attitude we received when asking about some way to discount the rental cost to offset the abnormal and additional work on our part has left a bad taste in our mouth regarding this experience. Additionally, the truck was dirty. I'm talking used-q-tips and-gummy-bears-mixed-with-an-eigth-inch-of-dirt dirty in the cargo area. Additionally, the cab was covered in mud, not just on the floors but in the seats as well. The windshield had dirty rain water spots, so I ran the spray and the wipers only to learn the spots were on the INSIDE. Seriously y'all, what the absolute fuck?NICHOLAS C.

I had scheduled a pick up for 7pm. When I arrived at 6:55 the doors were locked. I called the Bismarck site number and no one would answer so I called customer service. The lady I spoke with was wonderful. She had me hold while she tried to get ahold of the man who was supposed to be working. Close to 7:15 a man finally came to the door to let me in. I heard him tell the lady I was on hold with that he was in the bathroom. He did not apologize to me, was very inconsiderate. After paying he had me drive over to the U-Haul I rented and it was 10 minutes before he came out to approve me leaving. I didn't leave there until 7:30. I still don't understand why he had locked the doors when they are open until 8pm. He could have put a note up saying he would be back at a certain time. Also he should have apologized and made an effort to make up for the time I waited.COREY T.

I was charged an over fee of 8.00 usd, I walked in for purchase 14.95 24 hrs. I could of reserved it it on my own but phone but was in vehicle and was a nightmare come true guy first said his internet was down like I could understand at times but for a company this size never. I am appalled at the level of service and the condition of the truck. The clerk in Bismarck was unfriendly and gruff and didn't explain the operation of the truck. I needed to travel almost 700 miles and the truck was dirty inside. The truck did not have cruise and that was not explained to me. In addition, one of the headlights was out on the truck and the washer fluid was out. In addition, both 12 volt adapters didn't work. It was an awful experience and I should get credit back on the almost $990 charge. Very disappointed.Kenneth J.

Charged me for furniture pads that I didn't use, truck was parked in a back row and I hard to find it then back it out past other trucks, I had to wait for the windows to defrost, truck was dirty inside and it only had a quarter tank. The running light didn't work on the auto transport. They had to send road side assistance to fix it. When they finally got the running lights working, we found out that the rear pass side running light and subsequent side marker light didn't work. Then I also noticed the left side license plate light was out as well. All in all it was a good experience. The vehicle pulled well and the auto transport followed behind very nicely. I just expect that all the lights will be maintained properly and working when renting like this. Especially in North Dakota in the winter when it gets dark so soon.JASEN K.
They stated the battery in the truck was shot and â€œthe battery stores were closedâ€ on a Sunday at 3:30. They didn't bother to tell me until I showed up, with moving help all lined up, that I wouldn't even have a truck available. Are you kidding? Go to Walmart and replace the battery. Or menards, or runnings, or interstate battery or any store that's open on Sunday afternoon. They lied to my face and the GM will not return phone calls and had a full voicemail. The online process is very easy and I appreciated it. Maybe the only improvement could be the possibility to choose which unit among those available? Because I have now 2 units, one on the 2nd and one one the basement floors. The human factor is less than ideal. There was no lock in either room, although the emails from the online booking specified it, and I had to purchase those. Every time I had a problem ( and I had many related to the in person renting process, as well as with the online ) the wait on the phone call for customer service was more than 1/2 hr and the person could not solve my problem ( the first time she could not even understand it). Kyle Wright sucks at managing this place. He had charged me for a late fee of $15, twice before the 6th day of the month. It clearly states $15 after the first and $15 again after the 15th day of the month late rent. So I had to pay extra just to get into my storage, and when I went in to get a bag out of my storage he stated he was going to call the cops because I wasnt allowed to go into my own things/storage without paying first which I told him I had paid that day and to go head and call who ever because I had proof I paid online. And then I finally closed me storage with them last month and now almost 2 weeks later he has charged me a " $25 cleaning fee" on my card which was only removing a 2 queen size mattresses. When I was closing out my account I had told the young man who closed my account for me they were in there and I couldnt get them out by myself because I am 8 and a half almost 9 months pregnant now and he said he would take care of that for me. Now to see Kyle is charging me $25 for that is ridiculous. This storage is way over priced and the manager, Kyle, is not fit to be running businesses where he can just rip people off like that and feels like he can do as he pleases with others money. Especially during this pandemic. He is a awful and I hope he gets replaced or demoted overall.
