The passenger side mirror almost fell off my truck 10 miles into the rental. I drove over 100 miles without a passenger side mirror.

My credit card has now been charged three times for three varying amounts. I tried calling customer service yesterday but was disconnected by U-Haul. When I tried to check the truck back in, the online system wouldn't let me enter the actual mileage, stating that I was trying to enter one lower than what I had started with, which was not the case. So I entered a higher mileage in order to complete the check in process, which resulted in a massive overcharge. Please help.

The early check-in and pickup of the truck was great. When I returned later that day after the truck was loaded to get the tow dolly and car loaded onto it, the service could have been better in my opinion. Getting the tow dolly hooked up wasn't a problem, but then I was asked if I wanted to load the car onto it or not. I think that it should be a given that most people wouldn't have a clue how to put a car on a tow dolly in the proper manner. There also was no instruction on not backing up with the tow dolly attached. It says it on the tongue, but that should be emphasized so that someone doesn't think they can do it.

The 5X8 trailer was in disrepair. The inside tie-down rails were loose or missing, not usable. One or more running lights were not working. This location had dozens of trailers available, they should only rent out units that are serviceable.

I was surprized the unit was "not water tight" which we read in the literature. We put a hose on it to test and it did leak, so I had to then tarp everything inside the trailer. I think they should be water tight.

Originally, starting in Illinois, I was scheduled to drop of my rented trailer in Missoula, but found that I could fit everything into my truck for the final leg. The helpful and courteous staff made it possible for me to drop it off in Bozeman and at short notice rented me a storage locker. Happy people making families happy! A+++ Service

Used 26ft truck, truck itself had a warning light in the cab and the front end popped when turning. Service personnel were fantastic to work with. Equipment was sub par though. Also found better mileage rate at another company, but still chose U-Haul.

I had many two break downs with this truck, both involved the battery. The first occurrence happened when I was attempting to leave Bozeman. I was able to have a neighbor jump-start the truck long before Uhaul roadside assistance was able to get a service truck to me. The battery died again in Rexburg, ID when I stopped to refuel. After an hour plus wait a service truck was dispatched with a battery. I had no further problems after that, but the delays and aggravation were profound.

My only complaint was the blankets I rented were soaked along with my sleeping bag. It prevented my furniture from getting ruined. It was raining the second day on the drive out to Montana. Water leaked inside.

I drove the vehicle a total of 18 miles and put 3 gallons of gas into the vehicle before returning. The attendant explained that I will have a gas fee of $11 dollars as the fuel gauge does not reed 7/8. Please explain to me how you read a gauge to an accuracy of an 1/8 when they are only 3 marks to read from. I am very unhappy about that. The policy should be to return with a full tank and then there will be no arguing.

I arrived to drop the trailer off a day and a half early. (About 10:00 am Saturday). A worker quickly told me he was too busy to help me and that I could just drop the trailer and leave, so I did. Today (Tuesday), I received a voicemail indicating they had not yet received the trailer so I "will definitely be charged for an additional day." I called and they were able to resolve the issue, but again, horrible experience! I have always had good experiences in the past, but this time was nothing but problems. I'm very dissatisfied!

Our Bozeman U-haul needs more people. I know it is hard to find people who want to work. I would but I am already holding down 2 jobs. It is really expensive to find housing here, for workers but sometimes companies need to pump up the living wage for Quality workers. Just saying.

This was the worst experience in terms of rental and customer service ever in my life. Emily ( store assistant manager) in N 7th Ave mislead me at first regarding an exchange of a truck and couple days after when I was questioning her on the phone about misleading me and extra changers , she hung up the phone. I called again she noticed my voice and hung up again. absolutely absurd

The female employee at the bozeman north 7th location needs to be talked to. She didn't have a name tag on so I don't know her name but she was extremely rude both times I went in, both to me and to other customers. If I wasn't in dire need of a uhaul, I definitely would not have rented from you. I've never experienced such bad customer service before.

Promised a 6x12 but wanted me to drive 400 miles out of my way to get it. A bit ridiculous if you ask me! Your employees in both Bozeman and Boise are wonderful, but I felt as if the corporate heads could have done a better job at reimbursing me for such a hassle.

Call earlier to inform the reserved size/type will not be available. Calling the day before does not allow much of a planning horizon. The agent in Bozeman went out of is way to apologize and make sure I had a good replacement trailer for my needs.

The website has not been updated in at least six months and does not give complete information, as I gound when dealing with a manager that just made the situation ten times worse. They did not have our truck available. Then they continued to claim that it was not reserved and when I tried to show my order number to the guy at the counter to confirm our order he didn't even look at my phone (where the order number was pulled up) before telling me "yup, it is." They told us we had to wait an hour and go to a different location. So I pulled my order information up online to make sure I had set everything up on my correctly (because they claimed I hadn't) and my pick up time and date and trunk was set up for that morning at that location. Even after calling and telling them this, they continued to tell me that those changes were made by them for the other locations (which was not true, because it was set up for an hour before the other location opened and it was set up for their current location). They eventually called and told us that they did get our truck for us and was sorry that "transit" didn't do their job. They took zero responsibility and even went to the extent of lying to me. I will never use Uhaul again nor recommend this company to anyone.

This location was great the people where friendly and helpful. the ordering process online has been the worst experience I have ever had. I never received a call confirming my reservation. When I filled it out the information online I put the location and the time I needed to pick up the trailer, Neither where correct when ( I CALLED TO CONFIRM). They said it was booked for 12pm - I said 8am.

I am not happy with the charges. I drove 1,700 miles but was estimated at over 2,300 mile. Also arrived 3 days early. There should have be some consideration and the price lowered. Next time I will use a company that charges actual days and per mile.

Hooked up the first trailer and found out that one wasn't currently registered at that location so we had to switch trailers. Then the second trailer had a worn out tire which blew out coming down a steep mountain pass! Almost wreck my truck because of the flat on the trailer. Then I was stuck in remote Idaho without cell phone coverage, had to disconnect the trailer and drive to cell coverage to call Uhaul. After getting a hold of Uhaul waited over an hour for the repair man to come. Mostly I am upset that I was given a trailer with an extremely worn out tire!! The entire sidewall of the tire blew and nearly caused a multiple car accident! None of the Uhaul employees were sympathetic or concerned about the stressful and dangerous situation their poorly maintained equipment put me in!! Not to mention all the time I wasted dealing with this nightmare. When I asked for a refund or at least discount for my troubles no one wanted to own up for the trouble and each Uhaul employee I talked to said I had to talk to someone else to see about a refund. I am very unimpressed with Uhaul customer service and furthermore very concerned about the road worthiness of their equipment!

I rented 2 dozen moving pads and received them in 4 seporate bags. all the Pads I used were thrown back in the truck after use. When I returned the truck, I was informed that there were 3 missing pads. I looked for the missing pads and couldn't find them in my storage unit, house or vehicles. My fault for not double checking if there were actually 24 pads in the bags but, I think the stores may need to do a double check as well. Friendly service, good equipment.

Good place and nice folks. Had a burned out bulb on the trailer we were renting but they fixed it quickly and we were on our way. Good selection of equipment and moving essentials. Store was clean and well maintained. Inside of 6x12 trailer we rented was clean. Outside was nasty. Not sure what your equipment washing policy is. Agreed that they can't very well be washed that frequently but this one was ugly; to the point that even the marker lights were grungy and I had to clean them off at a gas station so you could see them. Otherwise, good experience. Mechanically, the trailer delivered exactly what I needed.

I have used this venue more than once on short notice and it's been great each time. Of course, a rental may not be available, but when it has been, I am able to pick it up with a minimum of fuss or hassle.

I continue to be impressed by the team of Jesse and Emily who run the U-Haul franchise on N 7th Ave in Bozeman. I needed to rent a 9' cargo van for a run to Salt Lake. The winter weather was not ideal for driving a rental vehicle on the snowy, icey roads. I was advised against using the van on my first rental attempt because, they warned, the rear-wheel drive trucks did not do well in heavy snow. I was advised to postpone my trip until better road conditions were forecast. On my second attempt the roads were better, but winds were expected. They offered me the use of a new front-wheel drive unit they had just gotten in; same price, better equipment. How many businesses would behave in such a caring manner? I will always use the N 7th Ave U-Haul Center whenever possible. Thanks Emily for looking out for my safety.

The store attendant said all lights worked , the left blinker didn't and I am not so sure it did when i left. I questioned the high rate of $480 and was told when I get there there could be an adjustment. But of course not. And then feeling pressured to buy extra insurance when paying $500 is more than enough.

The driver side windshield wiper on the vehicle I rented was worn and absolutely useless. The alignment was also drastically off. These are very important things that put my life at risk during operation. Especially because I was driving in snowy/icy conditions. I got blasted with a snowcloud from a passing vehicle and literally could not clean my windshield to see. That is not acceptable!

We made a reservation. Checked on the rental physically at the store, a considerably large one was available but we decided we had no choice. When we came to pick it up, they only had a truck twice the size of the original reservation. It caused considerable stress and danger as well as damage to our landscaping. Plus, the headlights are not sufficient nor I would guess to say even legal. Difficult to see in even clear weather and certainly not in any sort of snowy weather as was present when we rented it. It was stressful to pack, needing more ties downs, extremely stressful to drive, needed to drive from hotel to hotel to find one where we could park it (more expensive too), more gas, more time on the road, damage to our landscaping to even get it to be able to park at the bottom of our hill (illegally but we had no choice) and we had to hire helpers to unload it as the distance was far. A considerable cost due to not honoring an original reservation nor the slightly larger truck we physically look at that they gave away. Bad all around. I agree with your customer service that suggested to submit a claim for full reimbursement.

The staff are rude and incompetent. I was charged $90.90 THREE TIMES = $272.70 because the manager did not know how to properly reverse the initial MISTAKEN $90.90...My total charge to rent the 17' vehicle was $46.54 but for some reason the initial charge was for $90.90 - as though I was renting with cash...I was not...so the manager supposedly reversed that charge...HE DID NOT...he charged me 3x...overdrawing my checking account in the process...So thanks corporate America UHaul for nothing...the experience sucked beyond measure...I still don't have my $272.70 safely in my account...your customer service people are rude and incompetent too because no one could or even tried to assist me with this dilemma...so once the final drop to your account is complete for the fraudulent $272.70...I will file a fraud charge against UHAUL as well as a complaint with the Better Business Bureau

Uhaul needs work! First, the staff in Plano was not very sharp. I show up to pick up the Ubox and no one seems to know how to "process" the order. Finally a girl helps out and I was charged twice for the same charge $17.26. When I went back into the store, the manager (Ranko) told me I wasn't charged twice but one was a preapproval and one was the actual charge and that I needed to get with the bank for them to remove the preapproval from my account. So I called the bank...guess what...yes, it was two charges...NOT a preapproval...two charges. I haven't worked up the energy to call Ranko back and tell him he was wrong. So then the box heads to MT. I tell Ranko to put in the comments section of the order that when they go to charge the credit card it won't go through because it's my elderly mother's card and she doesn't get her social security till the 3rd of the month. He tells me he will put in comments section that Bozeman (the place we are shipping to) should call me when it's time to run the card and I will give them a good CC. Well I get a call on 10/3 and Jessie in Bozeman says the card got declined. I told him yes, I knew that would happen and that it should say in comments section that he was suppose to call me so I could give him a good CC. Well it's obvious he never read the comments section...he just picked up the phone. OK fine, we pay for the transportation. I tell Jessie that my brother will unload the box on 10/8. Well on 10/7 I get a call from Jim at the Bozeman facility wanting to know when I'm going to come unload the box and what's he suppose to do with it. I tell him that I've already talked to Jessie and that my brother will come unload it on 10/8 (which BTW is on the order itself). I tell Jim I'll call my brother and tell him to reach out to Jim and firm up the details on when my brother will get to the Bozeman facility and unload it. I call my brother and he says he'd talked to Jessie the previous day and told Jessie exactly when he'd be there and what his intentions were. Obviously, Jim and Jessie don't communicate with each other or else Jim would have known this. So my brother has to make another call to inform Jim what the plan is. Good news is the box is unloaded and we are finished with Uhaul. Throughout this entire process I received 14 emails from uhaul. Yes, 14...I just counted them! Overkill! Why I needed to receive so many darn emails is beyond me. Then to top it off...I get a survey email from the Bozeman facility and another survey email from what I'm assuming is "corporate". I start to complete the Bozeman one first. Type out my comments and it won't accept it because it's more than 200 characters! So I guess I have to count each letter so I know what it will accept. Typically when there's a limit to the number of characters, there's a counter that decreases as you type so the end user can see they are getting to the end of their allotted characters...but no, this is the Uhaul experience that just keeps on

When I showed up, the pre-check in that I set up online was not in your system, so I had to do this again. There were no employees in the store when I arrived so I had to wait around for about 10 minutes before someone came to help me.I was asked how long I needed the UHaul for and I said I didnt know, about 4 hours possibly. I was then told that the timeframe wasnt relevant, my rental was for 24 hours. I received a call after 6 hours and was told that I needed to return the truck right away because it had already been rented to someone else. I told the woman on the phone that I was still using the truck and had 24 hours and she was extremely rude to me and ended up hanging up on me. I will not be using this location again.

The installation of the hitch in San Jose included faulty wiring installation. Wiring was not secured to the vehicle, it was tucked into creaveces. It vibrated loose, made a lot of noise, and was worn away from dragging on the roadway. However, your employees in Bozeman were wonderful, the made the repair quickly and secured the wire. They turned a sad moment into a happy one! Thank you Bozeman employees!!!!!

It was a pretty smooth transaction. The only recommendation I have is that if you say you are going to call to confirm that someone actually calls. This happened the last time I used Uhaul as well.... I reserved a truck online and it says on the final screen that someone from the location would call me the day before to confirm. I ended up having to call in, both times, to confirm. I ended up leaving a day later than planned since I didn't know that I couldn't pick up the truck until noon until the day before.

The van I rented for fourteen days was in great shape. The staff was pleasant and helpful during pickup and dropoff. I took the vehicle to Burning Man and was not hit with any extra fees when it was returned. I plan on getting a van from this location again next year.

My running lights did not work. The employee did not fully inspect them and I was unaware of this until I was pulled over by law enforcement. I had to drive 4 hours in the dark without running lights. I'm lucky I wasn't hit by a car from behind. I checked the wiring to the best of my ability using a multimeter but I was unable to fix them due to serious wiring issues. Your employees need to do a better job of inspecting lighting!

Picked up a 6x12 inclosed trailer. 3 marker lights were not working. I pointed out that one lense was missing and that one lense was replaced. The other marker lights were not working. Instead of replacing the bulbs. He just marked on my contract that they were not working. Was hoping to have all marker lights working for my 1100 mile trip home. After driving 158 miles I checked the tires and the temperature of them. One tire was very hot. Check the pressure on all four tires. 3 tires were 58 lbs. and the hot one was 31lbs. Filled it to 58 lbs and no heat problem after that. Great trailer though and it pulled very nice. I would rent this trailer again.

Our reservation was "lost" even after we completed an online check-in the day before. The local UHAUL representative did provide us with a rental truck 12 hours later, but offered only 10% off our rental fee. If you have any other moving truck options, I recommend choosing a different company in Bozeman.

Due to family issues I had to rent a U-Haul in Bozeman to return to AZ. I ordered and was confirmed a 10 foot but when I got there no 10 footer available. Got a 15 foot which I did not need based on additional fuel burn. Drove off with the vehicle and went 2 miles finding out AC was not working. Took truck back to the location, they said nothing available call roadside. Called Roadside got the run around asked to call another number to get another truck at other location. Found me a truck 87 miles the wrong direction so 170 mile out of the way. Decided to call back roadside asst, New guy was helpful but could not work anything out. Drove a U-Haul with my son from Bozeman Montana to Mesa Arizona in late July and it was the worst experience ever. Got a little rain helping the heat thank God for about 10 miles but the WS wipers were blades were bad and I could not really see. So that was not much better. This was a ridiculous experience. 100 plus head most of the way and no AC. The pick up location in Bozeman was fine, clean and they tried to help.

I've used U-Haul at multiple locations before, but this was by far the best experience I've ever had. We didn't have to wait for the truck as I have had to do in the past; it was ready for pick-up right at 7am as we had reserved and we were on the road by 7:15am. The pick-up and drop-off processes were also very speedy, which I greatly appreciate on such a busy moving day! Thanks a bunch!

Our experience was a complete joke with U-Haul. And the man we returned it to was a total jerk. After all we had to go thru with your services it was MORE stressful than ever. We were charged extra money for having to drive around and find someone to fix our tire because uhaul was closed and they couldn't help us. Until the tire blew in a no cell service zone and we had to find service to get ahold off them and the made us call a ton of different 800 numbers. Finally received help after sitting on the side of the road for two-plus hours with a 2 & a 5 year old and my parents who helped us. Once we finally get there to return the U-Haul the guy says you drove extra miles on the truck so owe more money. In my eyes being all the trouble we had to go through just to get some help and sitting on the side of the road for two-plus hours in 90° with two children under the age of 5, you guys should not have been charging us a dime you guys should have been giving us money back. Again the guy at Bozeman Montana U-Haul return not exactly sure who he was but he was extremely unprofessional and extremely rude.
