I reserved a 10 x 20 online weeks in advance. I showed up to the facility the day before move in to check in and complete any paperwork. Only to find out that this location did not have 10 x 20 and we would be receiving two 10 x 10 next to each other. When we show up to move in the next day they give us (4) 5 x 10 . This ended up being such an inconvenience as the units were so tight it made it very difficult to stack our items. We ended up having to buy another unit due to this. If I would have been informed prior to what we were actually getting the day before when we checked in I would have choose a closer unit to the house. I choose this location as it had what it advertised we needed. Very unhappy with this location about happened and I feel the staff basically lied to us about what we were getting and knew we would be getting the 5 x 10 the day we were moving in.saxja b. | First Impressions

Get a new manager. I was encouraged to download the app and self check in. I spent the time to do so. Upon arrival I filled everything out took pic's uploaded blah blah. The app told me to go to a propane site and find my truck. I walked over and no trucks. There was two employees standing there doing nothing one lady on her phone. I asked the gentleman how this works he said go inside. Then the lady on her phone pauses her call and gives me some instructions to look for a number and put a code In and all set. I replied i need to wonderaround until I find the truck? She said what's the number? I said BP 3070C she said thats a truck you need to go to the counter to check out and resumed her call. So the app was all "save time" check in and go. So now I stand in line for 20 minutes waiting for the counter to finish the customer. She did greeted me "can I help you" i said I needed to pick up a truck i checked in on the app. She replying you can't let me see your drives lic and the card for payment. I asked if she was a manager she "no I can get you one" didn't make a call for anyone,I asked if the manager was the lady at the propane station she said yes, I said nevermind I see why this place is ran like sh*t. Her response was "I don't have to dispatch you a vehicle" me "why" her "you're rude". I stopped saying anything just finished my chcek out process. Upon return I again waited for 3-5 mins while 3 people were behind the counter. Same person check out said "can help you " I said truck return she looked up and a screen and didn't say anything else to me. Very awkward didn't Know if I should leave go outside wait what. She finally says "you're all set" and I walk out. I understand its hard to get employees right not but common. When uhaul encourages me to use self checkout and save time so I made plans to pick something up at 830 and check out took 45 minutes it a little frustrating. Please don't call me to apologize just coach staff. Very unpleasant experience. I know the cameras are going to pick everything up and you can see. My new address in Argyle TX was showing in Missouri, in the Ozarks, when trying to find the best return locationâ€¦major computer glitchâ€¦new address, so I understand if it can't find the street, but should at least find city, but the computer even find Texas and not even a neighboring stateâ€¦there were about 4 damage areas I photoed and it said 3/4 tank of gas but barely had over 1/2 tank, but I LOVE the ability to dispute and take the pictures!! We set up our rental for auto pay each month. The first month we got a late notice on the day it was due along with a late charge. Simultaneously, they also reached out to the emergency contact person we were required to provide upon leasing the unit. When we called and asked what happened to the auto pay we set up, the agent checked on it. We got a half-hearted “oops…I guess the paperwork was never put into the system.” All that…including bothering our contact…because of THEIR mistake. Each time we have needed to get questions answered, it’s like seeing a deer in the headlights…confusion and lack of knowledge. After all of that, when we couldn’t get a reputable moving company to help before the end of one month of rental but got everything out the first day of a new rental month, U-Haul wouldn’t give us any kind of a pro-rated rental. They demanded a full month’s rent for a few hours. We were out by noon. While moving out, we could hear another hugely dissatisfied customer arguing about how he had carried out his end of the agreement but U-Haul hadn’t kept up their end. 🤷🏼♀️ We won’t be using the U-Haul at 1100 Los Rios in Plano TX ever again.Nancy H. | Overall Experience
U-Haul team forgot to put appliance dolly in truck. I had to make 45 minute round trip to pick up dolly. When I returned truck at 4:45 pm I was told no one could do the propane fuel so they'd send a email invoice in the morning. Rental was 21.4 miles yet there was a 8.4 gallon propane bill (2.5 mpg). When I called to ask about it I was put on hold for 9 minutes and no one answered. When I called back the person who answered didn't know and got someone. The person said there was nothing they could do that I'd agreed to the charges when I rented. She continued to talk over me, was rude dismissive and hung up on me.JOHN S.

I didn't get the dolly that I needed Not too worried since the money was returned but Calling me at 8:30 AM the next morning to tell me that my uhaul wasn't returned when I returned it an hour earlier than I was supposed to is ridiculous. The Manager Anita and all her staff was EXTREMELY RUDE. They always tell you to call 24hrs in advance to access your U box. When you get there the next day they say oh ok let me go get it. This happen to me 3x. She wanted to argue and holler at like I was a kid because they was wrong. Then told me well I don't have to let you in your U BOX. We close at 4pm and it's 3pm I just looked at her like she was crazy. So then she told me I can clear my box off and go somewhere else. Her staff kept giving me wrong information and she would just say it don't matter there new. I called at 939am and got there around 230pm next day and she kept saying it's 24hrs. I had to remind her you know that's more than 24hrs. I still had to wait for them to pull my box out. The most rudest Manager and staff I ever did business with. I ask for receipt after I closed out my transactions and she always had a problem with it. I didn't feel comfortable at all. 2nd time I wanted to access my Box it was 5 staff members in there just smirking saying they can't help me because they didn't drive HI-LO. Last time I was in there she ignored me and went outside. She is very nasty with no CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS WHATSOEVER. Contract # 21758611 PLEASE CALL ME. Our son was not advised of the need to call 24 hours in advance to access the Ubox and was denied access on the last day before being charged for a full month's storage thereafter. (He did have access on a drop-in basis 1 or 2 times prior.) I have personally called to mitigate the charge (to my credit card) and was told 2-3 times I would be called regarding the outcome of a review. I have not been called by this facility and will therefore submit a dispute with my credit card company. I have to wonder if access on last day rentals is denied in order to charge a month's future rent.Sharon O.

Check that plastic ties are intact on blankets and dolly prior to renting. Add confirmation to renters check list. If you don't check prior to renting, do not assume the renter cut ties, and then bill the renter for using equipment that was not used. I made a reservation for a unit online only to find out when I arrived that online reservations don't mean anything. Instead of being helpful, the employees that we spoke with told us, "There's nothing we can do. You need to take it up with whoever made the website." I asked if they had any units available, something that they should have offered me, and they told me that I could probably make due with one unit that was slightly smaller. I went to the unit and realized that there was no way that my things would fit. I went back to the office and they gave me two small units that were about the size of the unit that I originally wanted. When I drove back over to check them out, one of them was locked. I drove back to the office and was told that they needed to contact the person who was currently occupying the unit. I told them to call me when they figured it out. I waited for 3 hours and called them as they were closing within the hour. They told me to come back and they would give me two other units. Hassle free for pick up and drop off. Easy to reserve. Good location for me. If I could offer any suggestions for improvement, it would be faster phone service. I was stuck at a gas station and couldn't restart the van after filling it up. I knew it must be something I did or didn't do. I was on hold for over 15 minutes and no one picked up the line. This location is well managed with helpful staff (in my opinion). I always feel safe and that my belongings are safe. There are “working” alarms, and cameras are everywhere. They make pest control a priority. The building is always clean and well maintained, and carts were always available when needed, at no charge. The ONLY a negative is that sometimes the loading/unloading area is not unavailable. The cars parked there are unattended (sometimes with sunshades are up in the windshield), so clearly NOT loading/unloading). Though the staff was friendly, the overall experience was less than stellar. Almost every time I went, one of the gates was stuck open (lack of security). I kept getting calls from management telling me I had crates delivered to me(?????). My AUTOMATIC BILLING somehow got messed up and because my account was a few day late MY BROTHER IN NH received a notice of delinquent account in my name! To be honest I had an awful experience with the manager at this location on 8/6/21 as she tried to CHARGE me for a Day of rental service that I did NOT USE because I was returning the truck within the allotted time frame! Actually 20 minutes earlier as well as VOID the INSURANCE policy that I purchased. She stated that the insurance DOES NOT COVER the BODY of the truck nor the tires or overhead and I was wondering what did it cover she failed to tell me that but she presented almost $400 worth of charges to me and I had to dispel everyone of them because I purchased the insurance that she did not understand. I scraped the skirt on the truck which would have been the eighth noted damaged spot on the truck that was rent d to me because the rest of had claims stickers due to being covered by the insurance policy…. But in my instance the policy was going to be VOID if I did not pursue the manager for CORRECTING her mistake. She tried to humiliate me in front of her staff and customers…. We moved from Michigan to Texas. We made a reservation for a storage 10x15x9 and when we have arrived, the storage WAS NOT available. They truck was due on 8/2/21. We were moving a 3bedroom home. They offered 4 storage units of 10x5. These DID not work. The storages were too small for our belongings to fit. This pushed the moved in back a day. They also explained that there was nothing else they could do. We were able to locate a storage the following day in Plano on N central parkway. When we arrived he told us that the storage we selected could not be used for the “one month free” and that we had to pay for it. So, with the truck being due on 8/2/21 at 9am, we were not able to have it back in time. It was all such an inconvenience. This is the SECOND unpleasant experience I have had with U-HAUL. We’ve used you guys twice to move across country and it’s been a problem EVERY time. I tried reaching out to customer service several times and the GM from where we picked up our rental, but I was not able to get the problem solved. We had to pay for the storage that was promised to us FREE $170. This was in fact NOT in the budget. We also had to pay for gas as well due to having the U-Haul longer and having to drive. Difficult to ever reach a human in the office on the phone. The computer system often messes up billing. Even on auto-pay I have been sent late notices and late fees applied. I got such a case even after closing my account both online and in the office. This notice even says my closing date was 7/11, but it was closed 7/5 and verified closed on that date in the office! That tells me in took your system 6-days to close the account which then put me past due on 7/8. Other than that, my climate controlled space was kept clean. I'd say above average for the price and proximity to my home, but far from excellent. The RV parking has issues: the gravel lot is soupy in some slots which will rot tires. Consider adding gravel to get it above the dampness and mud. The limited access to electricity, is disappointing and unusual. It's best for the RV to remain on a trickle charger - it takes very little power. There's quite a bit of trash/junk that appears to spill over into neighboring pads. No one seems to be enforcing any rules. I suspect the 1 free month offer attracts less desirable short term tenants. A couple of false starts - the initial site given to me had a car parked in it and the ground was wet and soft. Back to the office. Got a new site, but this one had the electrical box locked, so no power. Tried to call 3 times, but know one answered. Back to the office again. Another 15 minute wait. Staff was courteous and mostly knowledgeable, but they were understaffed to handle the Friday morning load. (I'd hate to see what Saturday looks like.)Rick R. | First Impressions

1012 unit was clean. Unit door has outside scratches and damages around door and door guide rails rubber cushion comes off of metal rails as door is opened and closed. This is a minor issue of just having to raise the door and pressed the rubber cushion back onto the railing after opening and closing the door.George S. | Online Move In

Several times we found the gate wide open and when reporting this, the office staff was quite aggravated with having to deal with a report of something they needed to fix. The facility and uhaul truck rental was great. Perfect size for what I needed. They man that helped with my reservations was really great. The day I actually picked up the truck the staff was not super professional and were having personal conversations instead of explaining the process.
