Initially (in 2017), I reserved a smaller A/C unit 6 weeks in advance. I even called a week prior to assure that everything was on track, which it was. The morning I was to take possession of the unit, I was informed that a man from Alaska came in and needed a unit ASAP. They gave him my unit. I was furious! They gave me a larger unit that was not air conditioned and was $40 more expensive per month. They gave me a small discount that month as a consolation. I was clearly dissatisfied. The manager did not care. Since then, my monthly rent has increased several times. I donated most contents just to get rid of this unit. I showed up on a Friday after receiving an email to let me know my U-box had arrived at the facility and that I will have access to it unless it is going to be delivered to my house, which it was not. I then book a truck and me and my husband drive 40 minutes to the facility to access my U-box. When I arrived, I was in formed that I needed to call and schedule to have my U-box brought out and that the guy who does it only works until 11am. So, I cancel my truck, they give me a number to call, and tell me it is Jason's fault that I was not informed correctly. I leave the building and immediately call the number to have my boxes out at 10am on Monday. The lady I spoke with confirmed the boxes would be out. I also book another truck for Monday with the option to pick up the truck using mobile. When I get there on Monday and follow the steps, the site would not accept my pictures of my Id but it didn't matter anyway because when I went inside for help, my keys to the truck were inside anyways. I asked Kimberly (cashier) to confirm my boxes were out before I paid, it was now 10:15. She goes to look, comes back, and said he is going to do it nowâ€¦ Thankfully she extended my reservation on the truck by 1 hour. Finally after a day of moving, my husband and I return the truck to a lane that says â€œstop and wait in your vehicle for associateâ€. My husband is tired so he leaves and goes to our personal car. I wait a few more then realize the day I have already been having with this company. I get out of the truck and go inside and the cashier is on his phone. He interjects as I'm walking towards him and says â€œAre you returning?â€, something he already knows because he can see from the window. As soon as I say yes, he looks back down at his phone and says â€œput the keys on the seat and shut the doorâ€. This was a beyond terrible experience from this facility. Guaranteed rental wasn't available had to go down to the size below caused us to have to take two trips so we had to pay double the miles and the truck still cost us the same as the larger truck so ended up paying like $70 more than if we had the 26ft truck.AMANDA C.
My reservation was for 7:00 AM on 20 June. When I arrived to check in the automated system informed me that I was scheduled for 0900 in person delivery. I had my team ready at 0700 on Father's Day. I called the day prior to confirm and ask about the details. When I asked about the mistake at 9:00 the rep was rude! I was also billed for the dolly on the back of the truck that I did not use. The only issue I had was the rates were raised after a year. There were no added benefits, or changes to the site, it appears (at the surface) to just be a grab for more money. A 10% increase shouldn't happen within a year. This is just my opinion though.David S. | Overall Experience

I ordered a 15 ft truck but a 10 ft was reserved. The ladies in the office were very pleasant and tried to accommodate but was unable. Steve took my reservation. The drop off was located 25 extra miles from the preferred location. I had to pay an additional $15.00 because of this. Also, the drop off location was not easily labeled with a street sign. The only way we saw where to leave truck was a small box in the wall after we accidentally turned into the parking lot. Milian management group sign was no where to be seen. The U-Haul location was great, but they don't handle scheduling of U-Boxes. Scheduling delivery with the U-Box service center was extremely backlogged and each time I called (5 times) it easily took more than 30 minutes on hold to finally reach someone. DO NOT USE U-Haul ON GILLESPIE STREET IN FAYETTEVILLE!!! Their odometer was WRONG, and they're insisting that I drove 200 MILES, AND ARE CHARGING ME $350!!!! I DROVE TO LEGION RD., THAT'S IT!!!! The new rental policy to provide utility statement/lease agreement/etc. plus additional contact information will cost uhaul money. It's an inconvenience and slows down pick up time and has made me decide to just go ahead and purchase my own trailer. It absolutely makes no sense as it is more restrictive to use a trailer locally than it is to go one way. Staff is great and pleasant it's just the new policy that has turned me away.Damon M.

This was not my designated pick up spot. Despite your guarantee of right equipment at the right place. I was scheduled to pick up at camden rd location. I had to wait over 20 minutes to get helped just to be told my trailer was not available and I had to drive 20 minutes further away from my house to pick up the trailer. I then had to redo the check in at new location all over again. And as I am signing the monitor I see your guarantee of having the right equipment at the right place. Windshield was dirty. I prebooked online the rental but neither dolly nor packing blankets were sorted and ready to go; I had to load dolly and blankets myself. There were three people involved with getting me in the unit. Tinessa, Vernon, and some other guy seemed like a new employee, who apparently was off work after checking me into the unit. First, I was told that my contract was not correct for a one-way (one month free) rental of a 10x10 storage unit, so I paid for the 10x10 unit and then called the person who issued the contract to have it corrected. Then, I was told it would not qualify even if it was corrected to a one way by both Vernon and Tinessa because the distance has to be more than 100 miles from where I was moving, but then that changed to 50 miles a few minutes later, and that the distance was between store locations and not moving locations, not at all what I thought the original contract was for. After several minutes of trying to fix the issue, I was then informed by Tinessa that once the unit was rented out that I couldn't be refunded. I hadn't even put anything in the unit yet!! Honestly, if I'd know that half my day was going to be wasted arguing over one month of free rent on a storage unit, I would have just rented a larger one somewhere else for what I paid here.
