It would have been nice if at least the cab of the truck could have been pressure washed and the interior of the cab cleaned, including the windows .Also, the cargo area should have been swept out. Staff at the Gatineau location were very pleasant and helpful! Equipment worked great!

Completely unacceptable level of service, lineup about customers was at the door, with only two staff members working. The staff worked very hard, and did the best they could, but it was completely inappropriate the number of bookings at U-Haul corporate tried to put through that location. Day. There were not enough vehicles. There were customers screaming and cursing, it was started to rain, people were standing outside in the rain It is disgusting how a big Corporation tries to shove as many customers through in a day, completely neglecting customer service. I will never be renting from U-Haul again.

There should be more people serving customer during the week end. the waiting line was too long as there was only one person serving at the counter. Other then that, the service was good and I would recommend it to a friend.

Every time I've went to the counter, because there is often only one attendant, the wait time is very long, this isn't good service for that reason, the attendants are great but can only answer to one at a time, there should be at least 2 at all times. Today I went in to enquirer about movers, price and availability, but left after 15-20 min as there must of been 6-to 8 people to server before me. And things were not moving at all.

I called 3 times to correct my invoice because my brother in law didn't get the blankets I ordered with my reservation and my final invoice still has the charge of 20$ for them. Terrible after sales service.

The equipement was fine, except for the truck cab smelling like an ashtray. What caused me to rate this experience as horrible is the service i got from one of the employees at checkin. When i arrived at my prearranged time, i waited for over 40 minutes in line, which reduced my planned moving time but that much, so when i asked if the clock would start now i was told "we cannot plan for long lineups so we do not take responsibility for that" so i basically paid the same price but for t hours. I dont think that is legal, but i accepted since i had no choice. Then i was asked to get an emergency contact to answer the phone, i questionned its importance and was quickly reprimanded by the staff member. She made sure i understood this was important because they are renting me expensive equipment (eventhough i gave them my credit card, am taking the insurance they recommend, etc). I commented that perhaps they should let people know in advance so that the contact can be ready. I was blamed for not having eavesdropoed on other client conversations. I should have know this would be asked since the clients before me did it. I have worked many years in the service industry, and the only time i ever encountered someone so direspectful and agressive was with discruntled customers, not staff. This is not a storeqide thing. The other two enployees were absolutely wonderful to work with. I only feel bad for them as they have to deal with her every day. Anyway, i will pay more to another company before i ever go back to that nasty lady. So, 1) arrive 30-40 minutes early i order to have your truck for the agreed upon duration (they will mot honour this) 2)be veey compliant. Only speak when spoken to, dont ask questions thst may be out of line and have all paper work and emergency contact available or you will be sorry!

On the evening of pick up, the employer was very frustrated as our rental had been pushed back (by the company) at closing time. He was ok, obviously overwhelmed and understaffed, but there was obviously an organization issue. At drop off, it was 1 in the afternoon, there was a hand written note in the door saying 'be back in 10 minutes'. It was not a bad experience in itself, truck worked well no problem, but some things could definetly be worked on.

Nous avions une réservation à 10h. Nous sommes arrivés un peu d'avance et nous étions les premiers en ligne. Malgré tout, la fille qui servait a passé trois autres personnes avant nous, qui étaient derrière nous dans la file, pour aucune raison apparente. Nous avons donc du attendre qu'elle se décide à nous servir. Finalement, lorsqu'elle est arrivée à nous, elle nous a simplement dit que nous devions aller dehors en premier. Nous avons disposé de très peu d'aide tout au long du processus et cela a été très long de s'enregistrer malgré le fait que nous avions réservé en ligne et déjà entré toutes les informations. Finalement, nous sommes repartis un peu après midi, ce qui est complètement ridicule compte-tenu du fait que nous avions une réservation à 10h.

I booked everything in English, I requested a van in Ottawa near my post code. I then received and email saying I had to go to Gatineau which is very far from my house . I don’t speak French. Since pick up, every email I be received from Uhaul has been in French, I don’t speak French so why am I getting French emails when I booked it in English?? Seems very odd.

The floors are in such bad condition that I busted one of the wheels on a large unit I was pushing. It's also too bad that I can't access my storage after 7:00pm. Otherwise everything else was fine.

reservation went well with Arrianne, but when I picked up my trailer, the other lady was not nice, even rude, when I showed my reservation paper she said I don't wont it I want your name, , I was 30 minutes late , she had cancelled the reservation and gave me a speech about not being on time and compared it to a Doctor appointment, (She said the same thing to the next costumer.) I was able to get a trailer , everything was excellent except her attitude.

As usual I am very fond of communication with the personnel in this U-haul location. I took a trailer and had communication with officer Daniel and manager Tania. Besides friendly attitude Daniel promptly takes care about everything; if the need arises he helps as driver to park the vehicle with trailer to detached it, which is very in time if one is not very experiences with that.Tania is very good at organizing the team, to safeguard that everything in the location goes well and is kept in order, and every customer is served nicely. And do not forget they seem to have the largest inventory in the area. Thanks again!

If we call ahead of time and make arrangement via the phone, the person at the location should be informed and expecting us to arrive and already be prepare to finalized the contract. It was done in a good fashion but if you wanted to improve i would suggest be more proactive. the service was still good but could have been enhanced as amazing!

If we would get the vehicle full of gaz and having to return it full would be a lot easier for everyone. The girl that served us in the morning was Nice but the one for the return wasn't too pleasant. Other than that, everything went well.

Le service à bien été, poli et jovial. Après avoir vue quelques commentaires négatif en ligne, je dirais plus que les agents ont un approche directe et ferme ce qui peut être interprété comme mauvais, mais ce n'était pas leur intension alors qu'ils étaient clair et précis dans leur détails donnés. On m'a même preté une connexion pour remorque pour quelques heure, ce qui ma sauvé du temps de l'argent, merci. Seul petit problème, on m'a dit qu'il y avait des boîtes de cartons au sol laissé par le dernier locataire, mais lorsque je suis arrivé à la maison pour commencer à emplir la remorque, il y avait beaucoup de gazon en dessus des cartons que j'ai du nettoyer avant d'y mettre mon matériel. À vérifier la prochaine fois. Merci de votre service.

the employee took advantage of my wife who was picking up a 4 X 8 covered trailer as I was not there. They told her she had to take 3 days insurance out minimum when we were renting for less than 24 hours. Then they pushed her into buying a trailer electrical hook up adapter when it was not needed what so ever as my jeep had both a 4 pin and a 7 pin hook up. The employee at the Oshawa Taunton location was a a 'STAR' as he agreed with my thoughts on the above and credited me back the insurance and I was able to return the adapter for a full refund. What is up with the horrible Uhaul employees at the pick up location ?!?!?! Makes me not want to return to Uhaul again in future.

Je trouve ca tres aberrant de devoir payer pour de l'assurance quand j'ai la confirmation par ecrite de mon assureur que nous etions couvert pour leur camion aussi. On nous dit qu'il faut une assurance commercial pour ne pas etre oblige de payer leurs frais de $35.00 d'assurance pour 1 journée. Une belle facon de voler les gens. L'etablissement etait bien entretenu et proper.

J'ai réservé un camion de 15" 3 semaines à l'avance et le montant total était 164$ (taxes, assurance, 240km et un mois d'entreposage inclus) Quand je suis venu pour prendre mon camion je trouve que c'est un 20" et 210$ le montant à payer. Les employés étaient très gentils et il m'ont réglé le problème et j'ai payé 166$ Mais quand j'ai réservé vous m'avez dit à 10h00 du matin et moi j'avais des déménageurs qui sont venus à 10h00 mais vous m'avez donné mon camion a 12h45 Et malheureusement j'ai appelé 1 jour avant le pick up pour essayer de régler ce problème mais j'ai pu rien changer et j'ai payé 50$ de plus pour chacun des déménageurs.(100$ de plus au total) Merci

Le service à la clientèle est vraiment déplorable à la succursale de Saint Louis - Gatineau. La mauvaise attitude des employés, l'inexpérience du personnel et la mauvaise foie. J'ai toujours utilisé les services de UHaul mais il semble que c'est le temps de changer. Autre aspects, j'ai réservé 24h un trailer et j'ai rendu l'équipement 3h avant et portant l'employé m'a chargé pour deux jours !

The personnel was, as always, very helpful and polite.i had to use the trailer for transportation of the TV and furniture. So, Daniel asked what exactly do I need to deliver, dimensions of the item, than he dedicated the time to provide measurements, found and attached ideal trailer which I efficiently used the rest of the day. On the way back I was met by the manager Tania who, as any staff member, very kindly and quickly took care of releasing of the trailer and closing of the contract. I like that the staff really works as one team dedicating professional attention and personal attitude to any technical or communicative aspect of customer services. Plus they never have the lack of inventory, it is the largest I have ever seen in Canada. Thank you!

we made a reservation, when we got there, theirs was nobody on site, we had to wait an hour for somebody to show up to tell us they did not have the 10' truck we had rented, they could only find a truck somewhere in Gatineau, we lost the better part of the day and due to this it took us a day and half to do something that should have been done inside 8 hours

Although the location was clean & efficient, we did not request this location. Originally we booked for Bell’s Corners in Ottawa for a 6x12 trailer. Because of our timeline we had to go 1/2 hour into another province to pick-up and when we arrived there were no trailers of this size available & had to downsize to a 5x8 trailer which made packing difficult! We had called the customer service line the day before & although we spoke to someone initially, they put us thru to the Gatineau location which was closed. This part of the rental experience was very poor!

No sympathy or acknowledgement that uhaul changed pick up location at last minute from Ontario to Quebec location. Booking person failed to mention all costs and fact that pick up is subject to availabiiity. Very frustrating experience.

Ensure trailers are properly clean inside. Rented a motorcycle trailer and found 3 screws prior to loading the bike. Beyond that, amazing service

Nous sommes heureux de l'opportunité que vous nous donnez d'abord nous avons fait face `une gerante bete qui n'a aucune notion la gentillesse et du respect de la clientele. Le tout additionné d'un apprenti indigne de ce titre d'apprenti. Le tout couronné par un systeme qui existe pour voler le monde, inadapté et non pratique pour les gens de tout age essayant d'etre branché et up to date. Vous etes devenus la risée des compagnie de location. qui plus es votre incompetence, votre systeme de fermeture de dossier est malade et sidatique puisque si on n'a pas d'internet vous allez nous charger pour une journée spplémentaire. finalement cette compagnie ne devrait pas exister car vous etes la pire compagnie de location avec laquelle que les sages personnes sur terre doivent faire affaire. Everything was much better as I even expected nevertheless I had previous positive experience with uhaul in Ontario and Quebec. They have the largest inventory I have ever seen and probably the best bilingual personnel I have ever communicated with. These guys were very helpful in every issue, they really tried their best, they know their job well and are just pleasant people to communicate with. Melanie explained me all the benefits of customer programs and I decided to go on with them, like trailers, storage;when the needs arose she followed with me to deal with hitch, storage location, locks etc what I appreciated that they offered me the choice in entrance doors to storage, while I would agree to any of them as I did not have a clue that there is variety of storages, not only by dimensions but with other conveniences like door size. Storages are as 10 feet high. Daniel was very helpful to accept the trailer , he really saved my time and nerves suggesting me to drive my vehicle to the proper parking lot for trailers backwards:) He released my vehicle while I was finishing my trailer deal in office.he was very polite and cooperative too. Tania, manager, is efficient organizer and carer for customers: when there was an issue she immediately stop doing other stuff and switched to my issue calling to probably some head office to find the best storage for me according to all my preferences. She also looks to trying always improve service and training the personnel. At overall, very nice cooperative team in this U-Haul office, it has conviniant location (close to Ottawa and downtown) and it has the largest inventory I have ever seen. I'm an injured Canadian Armed Forces Veteran. I suffer from severe PTSD and was medically prescribed a Service Dod to assist with my rehabilitation. My dog goes with me everywhere. He wears a special harness that clearly identifies him as a Service Dog and I normally never have any problem taking him to public places, including malls, restaurants, hospitals etc... He is also authorized to travel in-cabin with me on airlines. I respectfully identified myself and my dog to the manager of the U-Haul store today and was greeted rudely. I was told that it made no difference what my dog was and that I was a Veteran. I was a paying customer getting a hitch installed on my car. By discriminating against me, in addition to being rude, the manager was in contravention of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. What if I had been a blind person with a seeing-eye dog? Same principle applies. Then there's the matter of the work I paid for. I was originally quoted two half hour periods of labour to install the hitch, which was recommended by UHaul and purchased at another store that had it in stock. It took them over two hours to do the job. My car is in like-new showroom condition. The technician argued that he had a difficult time "lining up the holes." He felt bad about taking so much time, but still charged me half an hour more than I was quoted. That wasn't my problem if their product didn't line up or their technician was inexperienced, but I was made to feel I had to pay extra anyway.

i had a proof of insuance with me sent by my insurer by email, i told them that i spoke to my insurance company and they confirmed i had an insurance for this truck, but I was forced to get an insurance anyways. One of the equipement i didnt use at all and i asked for a refund for it, i was told that it would help us for appliances but it was not helpful at all due the strairs at my new condo. Very bad attitude from these people. I was just looking for a good service and good advices thats all, not in my intention to ask for refunds but i deserve back my money.

When you book online and fill the express check-in for accelerate the pickup of your trailer, you don’t expect to wait 90 minutes before being serve. There should be an express pickup section to accelerate the process.

I drove 38 miles with this truck and i did put 30$ in gas and when i came back the guy said no it’s not enough, so i went back to tbe gas station to add another 10$ which makes a total of 40$ which is very weird for the miles i did, other then that the lady at the customer service is very gentle and professional

I found the application by internet quite satisfying. the transfer of information between your server and the local of servitude should in-prove. The employee add a lack of confidence on the system. But after verification all when great. The last time I requyer your service was in 1994 it nice that to see the same easiness to request one of your vehicle.

Forced us to buy a lock from them in order to give us the free storage included in our price even though we already had a lock. This is a secured location, and i even offered to wave liability but they still insisted that we have to buy a lock from them as per u-hall policy. They haven't been able to show us the policy though.

This location is good. BUT, we had to go there because the other location was closed, we waited 45 minutes, nobody showed up. Plus the lady on the phone when we called costumer service was sassy about it, telling us it was our fault because we changed the location we wanted the pickup the day before?! This is not the first time we have trouble with the online reservation, I would really recommend to go with an other company.

Le service de depannage du dimanche n'etait qu'en anglais, la preposee n'etait pas capable de lire le nom des villes quebecoise et ell m'a envoye a une addresse initiallement qui n'etait meme pas un concessionnaire U-haul. quand finalement un depaneur m'a contacte, il m'a indiquer comment ouvrir le contanat du filtre a air et instruit de nettoyer le filtre. ce que j'ai du faire a maintes occasion. Le service routier du dimanche est a revoir a mon avis...

J'avais loué un camion pour deux jours.. Mon client a annulé et j'ai dù rapporter le véhicule après une journée. On m'a chargé deux journées de location et, au moment de payer, lorsque je l'ai remarqué et mentionné à la préposée (Tania Masse), elle m'a mentionné qu'elle ne louait pas de véhicule pour une journée. Elle louait seulement pour deux journées. Je lui dit que si j'avais su je serais allé chez Discount. Elle m'a répondu que U-Haul n'était pas Discount. Un argument s'en est suivi et elle m'a dit que tous les vieux étaient des chialeurs et qu'elle n'avait pas besoin de client comme moi. Comme votre publicité sur place indique un taux de 39,95 $ par jour, j'ai l'intention de porter à l'office de la protection du consommateur du Québec. Je loue régulièrement des véhicules pour le travail et je ne retournerai définitivement pas chez U-haul et je ne recommanderai jamais de visiter votre succursale sur la rue St-Louis à Gatineau. Vous pouvez probablement vérifier mes dires puisque votre préposée m'a mentionné qu'il y avait une caméra et que tout était enregistré. Si U-Haul n'a pas besoin de client comme moi, je n'ai définitivement pas besoin des services d'une préposée qui n'a aucun savoir-vivre.

Completely awful experience, the worst one could imagine. After paying ~400$ for hitch installation 4 months passed. The initial hitch was not functional as the bolts were loose and the hitch receiver was rotating so the luggage basket was literally scratching the road. Moreover one of the bolts got broken inside(right side). After complaining about that, Uhaul removed the initial hitch but they were not able to put a new one because it was impossible for them to remove the broken bolt. So the manager there - Tania said that I should go to a third party garage to get it removed on my own behalf and that Uhaul will not pay for that. Of cause I have refused that and asked for full reimbursement and compensation. Today is March 4 2019, I do not have a hitch after 4+ months of struggling with Uhaul, long hours spent trying to get the hitch finally installed. Awful customer service experience from local manager - Tania. I got partial reimbursement for the hitch and labor. Still have the broken bolt from Uhaul in my car, no compensation offered. Never ever go to Uhaul.

45 minutes to get the truck even with a reservation! The customer service wasn’t that great .. they saw we were getting unpatient and just ignored us. Apparently we aren’t allowed to pace while waiting, it “really irritates” them (Yes I heard the employees complain between each other (Her name was Tania and a boss apparently ...) .

Avant d'aller a celui de gatineau j'avais appeler a celui de plaisance. Réserver un camion. Donc partie de gatineau pour me rendre a celui de plaisance et quand je suis arriver la. La dame m'avais réservé un camion ( classe 3) alors qu'on ne m'a pas demander si j'avais la classe 3 sur mon permis. Jai donc du retourner sur mes pas et retourner a gatineau pour pouvoir avoir un camion et finalement réussir a déménagé.... Jai trouver la situation vraiment chiante avec l'hiver qu'on a. Je m'aurais passer de faire tout ce millage supplémentaire....
