Stop trying to thieve from your customers! It's been a couple of months since we rented & returned all equipment. Trying to charge my card $200 one day, then $20 another day then something else another day. When I'm asking what are the charges for the representative kept literally throwing guesses at me. Maybe it's for this and maybe it's for that. I had to report my card & get a new one or else uhaul would have taken all types of money from me for no legit reason. Staff was friendly, I got transfered to this location from my original reservation in Bellerose 15 minutes before my reservation time. I don't mind going to another location but I'd appreciate if necessary transfers are figured out earlier so I have time to change travel plans and don't have to take a cab last minuteDaniel B.

I am still supposed to get a $50 credit for the inconvenience. I originally reserved my cargo van online for the Elmont location. But the truck he gave me, adam is his name, had bad brake lights, no washer fluid, and so many a scratches. He directed me to 168-11 Douglas and promised me an inconvenience credit if $50 since I needed the van at 7 and didn't get one until 1 PM and had to pay $23 for an Uber to a different location to get my late vanDAVIDULRICK F.

I had no issues with this location, but i was scheduled to two other locations prior. I was promised a van from the scheduling manager (after reserving two days before). This pushed back my plans for the day and was irritating. Other than that the last location was a piece of cake.CLAUDE V.

The office was okay but the employee doesn't have a good service because he didn't explain to me how returned the key in right way he just give the key and said when I return back just go online and drop the key to the side pocket door that's all I need to do but I customer service and someone ask me if take the dashboard picture before dropping the key and nobody tell me anything like that before receiving the keyMOHAMEDS B.

The U-Haul was not where I was told it was going to be and it was blocked by two other U-Haul vehicles from the front and the back. It took me awhile to get it out and I did not want to walk all the way to the front and tell a representative.Mark D.
I will NEVERRRRRRR use uhaul again for storage!!! While the workers that walk around the units and help were all very nice, the people at the front desk (with the exception of the two men that were there the day I officially moved out) were NO help. Uhaul owes me $30 and said they will have a manager contact me… that was 3 YEARS AGO!!!! Still haven’t gotten a refund or even a call back. They charge you over $100 to put your stuff in their dumpster, like what is the dumpster for if not to discard things, I paid $92.90 a month for a box and they still make you pay to throw out furniture. The worst experience I had ever. My new digiral piano was broke. And the staff was not helpful even I wanted to open U Box. So I can open the U-box almost week after it got arrived. I didn't know how much back and forth from my home to U-haul location.Pyung C.
The counter clerk was very unfriendly, i would think she was rude. i was early for my pick up and she bluntly said "you are early come back at the time you booked". But the system did not allow me to book the earlier time and when i went back to get the truck that truck was there since i went the first time, it did not move. I was very disappointed, when I asked about a military discount I was told there is one and to mention it at check out. when I did so I was told nothing of the sort existed and that I had to call the UHAUL main number. I had to wait 1 hour to get my reservation. Then I was sent to walk 1 block to a truck was blocked in by trucks and trailers. No one answers the phone. I walked back 1 block to front office to get help. I then had to walk 1 block back to the truck with a staff member only to walk back again 1 block to the front for a truck that was available at the front the entire. Meanwhile, My clock was running. Returning the truck was a horrible experience. I tried the app which I always use and the app knocked me out. I went inside and the counter guy Bhupinderjot Singh was rude, nasty, and disgusting. Instead of asking me, what my issue was, he immediately starts in so you're saying you didn't go those number of miles? I asked him did I say that? The only person willing to help was the young man that cleans the trucks. I've been using uhaul for 7 years for my business. I've used other locations with no problem. I have had the worst experience of my life for the past six months dealing with the Jamaica location. My family has used Uhaul since I was a kid for storage. But with this last experience I will not be returning and I am very close to writing a public review, since no one will get back to me or call me from customer service. My unit had rats, which fine- no big deal - it happens. I asked to walk away from the unit and leave the damaged goods behind. After months of no one following up with me, Melessa Toussaint reached out and gave me a refund for the months I had to wait and assured me there was nothing more I needed to do. Great! Moved on with Life. Fast forward, for months I receive late notices on the unit. I sent them to Melessa. Radio silence. Finally I contact customer support. She emails me I need to sign a letter of abandonment. After I have my questions answered about the letter by Cynthia, I sign it and send it over. I ask Melessa to confirm she received it. Radio silence again. A month goes by, I receive notice a LEIN is being placed on my CREDIT due to late notices. Over a unit that is CLOSED?! What? I call Melessa. I call customer service. No one can help me. Finally Melessa emails me back on e poorly written sentence that I have to sign the letter. I forwarded her the email, and resent the PDF. She just didn’t see I sent it? Then proceeded to ignore me for three more days. Then said she received it and said something about waiting on a dumpster to arrive? This has nothing to do with the fact that my credit has been wrongfully affected by Melessa’s Oversight. She literally ignores my emails completely, she has never even acknowledged her multiple errors during this entire experience. And no one has ever cared enough to even reach out to me and hear out my concerns. I was told to reach out to Will Wolof, I have called his office four times. Radio silence there too. I text him as well, nope. Nothing. How hard is it for anyone at Uhaul to give me a call? Ever? I am not crazy, or irrational. I just wanted basic decency and assistance which I never got. I got a call that the unit has been closed. Great. This doesn’t change the fact that no one has ever reached out to me, my credit has been damaged on a unit I never ever failed to make a payment on. The staff always have an attitude. The phone is hardly ever answered, my storage unit was so hot that my clothes were sticking to me. I had to keep walking down the hall because the light sensors would go off like every 5 to 10 minutes and it would be completely dark. My unit was not handicap accessible. So I had a hard time carrying beds and dressers up the stairs alone. The loading area is way too small. Cars and trucks were blocking each other. I've seen several large roaches to the point that I had to pay a service to throw all my belongings out for fear I would bring roaches to my new house. The bathroom was gross both in the storage facility and the main rental office. After all of that I wanted to rent a smaller 5x5 for some sealed plastic bins, but the way the staff treated me on my last visit made me just say forget it and I will NEVER use this company again nor will I recommend this company to friends or family.TENIA T. | Overall Experience

I cleaned my storage at the beginning of December and called the same day to your 1800 number to let you know storage is empty for no more charges and you can track that call ... after that they charged me twice even with a late fee... Didn’t understand why if I had automated payment. They call me early January to confirm storage was closed I say yes and ask to please verify my late fee and extra charge to be refunded ... She said someone would call me back and nobody did... I call to your customer service trying to solve that and same thing happened never called me back... they called me yesterday from storage location 1/21 and the representative was rude and even hang up the phone on me cause I was asking about the extra charges you made to my account... The only reason why I couldn't say "Excellent" on my overall rating of the U-Haul Storage facility at this particular location is that there is just one problem that I had with the place. The problem is that they have these extremely loud, ear-piercing alarms that keep going off intermittently at that place.. The sound of those alarms are so shrill and so terrible that prolonged exposure to them would most certainly damage a person's ear-drums. The elevators are of a type that I've never seen before; they're like something from a previous age of man's existence on this planet, and the elevators themselves are wired to set off a horrible super-shrill, ear-drum piercing alarm that goes off for a few seconds while the doors are closing. So this is my only complaint about the place. I would recommend that they install modern elevators, and then relegate all those annoying and quite frankly, extremely unhealthy alarms to the after 10:00 PM over-night hours. I say those alarms are unhealthy because of the potential damage they can cause to a person's nerves and ear-drums, and maybe even the brains too, to a certain extent, when a person has to be there working and packing for 3 hours or more. So I think they should set the alarms to go off after 10:00 PM at night, which would be the "after hours" time period, so that people who come in there to do work in their units in the daytime can have peace & quiet, and be able to return home with the healthy nerves, brains, and ear-drums that they came in with. So apart from this one thing concerning the terrible noise of those alarms, everything else about this Storage Facility is WONDERFUL!Elizabeth J. | Overall Experience
