My experience with this UHaul location was excellent. Specifically, I'd like to highlight the exceptional customer service experience we had with Abby. Abby shared her home location is in the downtown Grand Rapids office, but was helping the Kalamazoo location that day. Abby was one of the most hard working people I have ever met - she was so knowledgeable and worked so hard to get us the right UHaul and trailer. She helped us put the new trailer hitch on the car and physically worked so hard. My family left that day and couldn't stop talking about how amazing she was and what a hard worker she is. I really hope she receives this feedback and gets some kind of accolades within the company. It's workers like her that a company wants to highlight and make sure to thank them - she was truly amazing.Kathryn R.

Location seemed to be understaffed with exceptionally long wait times due to only two employees present to prep trucks and run the front desk. Might want to run a bit more than just a skeleton crew for better customer service. Employees were very polite and helpful, but seemed rushed and hassled due to this. When I got my bill I will go to the 1895 over the telephone and it's on the website. When I got charged it was increased by $10 which I don't understand what for I denied all extra coverage because we have insurance. I wasn't happy that from 1895 I went to 28 I thought that was Malone and we use it for a total of maybe two hoursJames E.

The Staff here have always been so helpful and friendly. I really appreciate them. On a note to Uhaul. I wish you had an option of 6 hours unlimited miles for $49.00 insurance included. I'd jump on that verses renting from Home Depot or Menards. I do however love their stand up sprinter style vans and HD trucks with fold down sides.Robert P.

Rent adequately prepared equipment. The saving grace in this situation was the employee I dealt with (man at 1004 Portage Rd., Kalamazoo, MI location on 4/12) who graciously offered to refund me some of the rental cost. The truck leaked considerably in multiple locations and had I not been able to unload the truck a day earlier than anticipated, much of my belongings would have been ruined.Zachary Z.

The people listened to us and had the trailer ready to go with very good tires on it . We told them about the last rented trailer we got it had miss matched tires that made it Squirrley and we had five tires changed to try to get radials all around the tires we got went flat. The location was understaffed. The lone man there did his best to take care of all of the customers. He was very polite and accommodating. Truck had a low battery warning on and only 1/8 of a tank of gas. Truck was cleaned and disinfected.John R.

The salesman was very hard to understand. It's like he mumbled. Location was very understaffed. I returned the truck with exactly the same amount of gas and he still charged me $20.00 more on my card and I didn't even go over the amount of miles I said I was to travel. I received two bad trucks, 1st one ran terrible and was leaking exhaust into the cab, 2nd one ran terrible and steering was awful plus it leaked oil, this was the worse experience I've had with U-HaulJERYL LENARD J.

You need more employees working. Waited in line for 30 minutes just to get our trailer. Then had to wait another 30 minutes to drop it off. This location is always insanely busy when I need equipment. The employees were friendly and working as fast as they could, but they for sure needed more helpers!Briandavid W.

I have rented a truck from this location half a dozen times at least and have always had a perfect experience. The mobile pick-up option is NOT good! The second time I tried to use it, it failed for me as bad as the first time. Thankfully, the staff is always gracious and helpful. Five stars for the personal customer service I received this time, and every time!Jill W.

I had to wait for who seemed like the manager to finish BSing with the guy at the counter before i could pickup my rental. I felt like i was intruding someones personal space, like i was in somebody's living room, asking to borrow their personal car. Guy at the counter has a lifelong commitment to mumbling. Constantly asking him to repeat himself and stating that i can't hear him is not about to sway him to break the mumble oath he has taken. Upon returning the unit, i waited for an amount of time, because a customer was there, per appointment, for two hours already to have a hitch installed onto his car. Note:he wasn't angry that his car wasn't done yet, he was angry that this was the 2nd weekend he'd wasted at uhaul, and he was being asked to make a 3rd appointment, as his car was not even pulled into the bay yet. There was a very clear statement made from the guy at the counter that uhaul cant hire anybody, because nobody wants to work. I wonder to myself why that is. Is it because of the mumbling? The fact that nobody respects a customer enough to wear a mask properly? Is it because the front room--- where customers enter and do business-- stinks of cheap weed? Or the fact that you have a manager that either makes you feel like you're intruding on his Saturday, or just isnt around to handle situations? Im not sure, but my guess is that its some combination of those elements. Rental was clean thoughJacob T.

I've rented from here several times. They're always ready and prepared. Friendly helpful associates. I know I'll return. As for Uhaul. I would appreciate a $39.95 daily van/small pick up rate with 150 miles included. I can rent from Home Depot for quick trips unlimited miles for $19.95 per hour. Maybe come up with a frequent haulers program.Robert P.

Although the staff was very helpful, the truck was not ready even though I reserved it. It had not been cleared of snow and I had to return to the site to have the wiper blades replaced as the were not functioning. It was hard to hear what was being said because of the mask but also because the staff mumbled. It seemed that only one person did the work which was the manager so other customers had to wait while my truck was prepared.Paula G.
