I rented a dozen blankets. They were not in the truck when I arrived as stated on your website. I had to carry the blankets myself to the truck...should have been done by the staff...as I had to walked 150 ft to my truck with to bulking bags. I found the "having to fold the blankets" to avoid a $25 fee to be annoying. But I get it, its another revenue stream for UHaul.

The original place I was supposed to return the uhaul was abandoned so I had to drive around to locate a new one. Had to take an uber back to my house because it was farther than the one that I first picked, which was right next to my house. Very frustrating.

the employees at this location/center were great. your corporate office (or whomever is out of orange CT) is rude, inconsiderate, and frankly lies to get what they want. I had issues with my changes made to my rental reservation made less than 24 hours prior to my pick-up. Then day of drop-off received phone calls trying to tell me agreed to drop off truck at a specific time when I didnt.

Sai reserved the truck at the Plainville, CT faculty but had to go to Manchester, ct location to pick it up. This location was 25 miles away which was very inconvenient. I think uhaul should have repositioned the truck to the Plainville location.

We never got the blankets we ordered. Our representative had a lollipop in her mouth the whole time and thus I could not understand her. Isn't that rude? The location was easy to access off the highway but we had to drive over an hour to pick up the truck and then drive back over an hour.

Last mins. decisions made it easy . I was in and out of there in Mins . The trailer was hook up for me and check before I left and because the trailer was in great shape with new tires . I was able to come home with it right away and I check it in just as quick as I check out I did everything in a matter of Hrs. Thanks

despite having reserved the truck and trailer online and completing the pre check in. "The system" was not able to release the rentals to me an a new order needed to be placed. my wife and I have rented in Hartford and in Manchester many times over the past 2 years and Hartford seems to have their act together much better. All the people are nice but the overall process is flawed..

Please fix your online reservation portal. It's so misleading. I booked my appointment for 24 hrs but it later overrided my reservation to less than 4 hrs. Your staff at this location did not show any compassion and instead accused me of not using your online scheduling tools appropriately. I am considering taking my business else where.

Truthfully, you have the most kick-ass staff I've ever dealt with at any uhaul there. Andrew Champagne spent 4 hrs helping me put the hitch on in 90 degree weather. Helping me get more for my money so I didn't have to deal with budget and driving back to New England for my car. He took alot time making me comfortable about my cars capabilities while going to virginia. Not giving up and sending me somewhere else has truly made my entire last minute move easier. The guys and management kept me comfy and entertained. I couldn't have done it without him and the team. They have a thankless job most of the time. Dealing with people at their worst. I watched people be mean the whole time and they stayed as professional as can be. I wish there were more like them everywhere. Thank you for hiring them cause I don't know where I'd be.

Reserved an auto transport first thing on a Sunday morning. No issue picking it up. It was 10 min worth paperwork and out the door. Friendly staff from reserving the auto transport over the phone to pick up/drop off. Definitely using this location again.

Initial customer service cashier was rude and not helpful. Once I called customer service they were extremely helpful and fixed the issue. CSR that made intial booking suggested that I book an hour later than I requested and told me I could pick up early if needed but rationalized by saying that I could not be late. When I arrived for pick up the counter rep at this location was not helpful and in fact was sarcastic.

Rental of a 26' truck worked out well. The only disappointment was our pick-up location was changed at the last minute to a further destination which resulted in having to pay for more mileage. We were moving from Suffield, CT to Windsor, CT. I made the reservation at a Windsor Locks location. It was changed the day before the move to Manchester. It was a bit if a pain having to drive further but these things happen. Overall we were very satisfied with the cost, efficiency and customer service at this location.

those ford vans are terrible to drive when not loaded with weight-plus they over rev- when given the gas. small local work fine for the average driver- but long distance driving would make the average driver have a hard time--- most over steer-ers would fishtail a lot...

First manager at the location treated me like crap was trying to charge me more than what I was quoted when I booked the appointment they told me the motorcycle carrier came with straps I specifically ass come to find out he said it didn't and he quote on quote said I would not give you straps I did not want straps to keep I wanted to borrow them because the girl told me that so I had to go buy my own straps causing me to get late to my destination to pick up the motorcycle I was so I definitely would not recommend this place or him as a manager I'm in management and I would never talk to a customer like that and I would try to satisfy their needs especially when somebody told them this was standard with the order

I tried using the mobile app to pick up the truck. The truck was not parked where the app told me it was. And the app got stuck while waiting for it to review my pics I submitted of face and drivers licence. So I eventually had to go inside the office...where she was able to help me with no issues.

My wife and I were notified less than 24 hours before needing the truck that the one we'd requested wasn't available and we'd be getting a smaller truck. We had submitted our online request nearly 20 days in advance. We understood that we may not get the exact size requested, but U-Haul had plenty of time to find us the truck we wanted or, at the very least, notify us in advance that we wouldn’t be getting the exact size. What if we’d needed every inch? Also in our online request, we reserved multiple moving blankets as well as selected a specific drop-off location and time. Upon arrival, there was not a single blanket available at the location and the drop-off location and time that appeared in the system was completely wrong. The two boys that “assisted” my wife and I claimed they could change nothing without a supervisor present (who was not around) and were extremely apathetic and unprofessional, using their phones while we stood there. When I reiterated to them that we were going to need the truck for additional miles and time than what were listed, we were told that “the miles don’t really matter” and we wouldn’t be charged any differently. Besides explaining that the gas needed to be at ¼ upon drop-off, there was no explanation as to how the truck operated, which gas it needed, or that I should take photos of the truck prior to departure to free us of any responsibility if damage was done by a future driver. One of them said they’d change the drop-off information in the system, but didn’t give us a printout claiming as much. Moreover, the radio in the truck was broken. My wife and I tried calling the corporate customer service number in an effort to rectify some of this, but it felt like we were an inconvenience. The woman (who was pleasant) told us that “she’d try to get the drop-off time pushed back,” clearly not understanding that under no circumstances would the truck be returned until our stuff was out of it; not to mention that apparently it didn’t matter if we got the truck we requested, so why would they care about the next guy in line? Never once did a representative alleviate any of our stress, or even compensate us for the $3 mattress bag we purchased at the store. This experience was unacceptable. Period.

The truck was very clean and good to go. The online check in didn't end up saving time as I still had to wait in line to get a key, however, that is not the end of the world. I was a little disappointed in getting charged for an entire extra day when the truck was brought back less than an hour late.

I had a reservation for a 26 ft truck reserved for 12 noon. I got to the store and they had changed my reservation to a 17ft truck to pick up at 530. I was told an email went out at last minute because they could not get truck, but really? I am moving I cut off my internet and can't access my email. I got to store they did not seem to care. They need to understand that when you change a reservation it can affect a person. I had to be out of my apartment within 4 hours and because my truck was late pickup and small I had to make multiple trips which in the end cost me more money. The assistant manager seems cold and un caring. I was crying because I was so frustrated and sat on the phone with uhaul customer service for 24 minutes and transferred to different departments 6 times to figure out why my reservation was changed to only in the end be told next time you make a reservation try not to on a weekend or make sure you rent very far out. Really? How is this my fault.. I tried to speak with the manager to see if anything else was in the area and she started talking to the customer next to me. I was so frustrated and very disappointed. Never again. If you want to rent make sure your reservation does not change last minute.

Be prepared. Don't change my pickup location without notice Have the pads I reserved on site. I reserved 2 dozen pads and they only had 4. Also, I called the location to see if I could pay over the phone. I was told yes. Then I sent my mother to pick up the Uhaul. The reservation was cancelled, put in her name, and SHE had to pay as you guys declined to take my card over the phone when she was at your location in Manchester.

Very professional to me.. However, the couple that came in next to me had a different experience ; wrong size truck, and no blankets. They wanted a credit but no one was there that could make that decision. Bad move. If I based my future decisions based upon what I observed today and how that was handled I would have given your store an "F" and go to another store.i feel pretty confident that will probably be posted online, like yelp. You should allow your staff to make a decision up to $50-$75.00 or have your Manager or assistant Mgr be available to take calls when neither manager is in the store and approve of a credit. This was all so unnecessary. Moving is stressful enough and then to have your staff not be able to make it right is poor customer service.

My only real concern involves the optional equipment in the back of the truck. There is a bag of furniture pads and a hand truck that is attached to the inner wall of the truck near the rear door, right in the way of moving large things into the truck. The only way to move these items out of the way is to break the seals and accept an extra $10 in fees (because breaking the seals means you've used the equipment). I own my own hand trucks and furniture blankets, so I have no use for the ones in the truck, but almost would have paid the extra $10 to get them out of the way, very frustrating placement. Please get these out of the way! Otherwise, good experience overall.

I rent at the buck land uhaul often and would usually recommend them. This rental experience was terrible. The 14 ft truck had a definitely problem somewhere between the hauling button and the transmission. It kept slipping. The customer service girl was not very professional upon my return. She didn't seem to care that I had an issue and she was pretty nasty when she was asking about the sealed bag of blankets. In the back. I told her they were there and I hadn't asked for them and didn't use them. She told me they wouldn't have been there if I didn't ask for them. I explained the guy who rented me the truck had to pull this one from the back. It wasn't in the front all checked. She mumbled under her breath and processed me out. Not a good experience.

My only issue is : I had my hitch installed, and reserved and prepaid for my trailer pickup at your Columbia, Ct. location which is 6 miles from my home and origin of my move. The day before pick up , I'm told i will pass several UHaul outlet/locations to recieve my rentaltrailer, 28 miles one way (56 miles round trip) from my home. That was not right or acceptable to me and I have passed that on to others contemplating long distance moves.

Pay attention to messages and calls from other departments of UHaul when they are being contacted to help a distressed customer. Improve inspections for equipment prior to it being rented. Pay more attention to how the customer will be using the equipment. I say this because a UHaul associate in Belfast, ME stated that the trailer I rented was a bit small for the vehicle I was using for towing. With that being said, the associates in Manchester were polite, professional and helpful upon pick up but that is unfortunately overshadowed by the actual experience with the motorcycle trailer.

While the overall experience was fine, I needed to change the dropoff location. This turned into a ridiculous series of phone calls each of which redirected me to call some other number. The change ultimately was made but getting there was an obstacle run that took about 15 minutes and multiple phone calls to numbers provided by Uhaul personnel.

Also, while the staff was handling it well, it was understaffed with only two workers for a constant 8-10 customer deep line during the 45 minutes I was in line.

Reserved 26' truck for 8am, got changed to 17' truck for 5:30pm without notification. Reserved 1 appliance dolly, 2 furniture dollys, the location only had appliance dollys, so I threw out my back because appliance dollys are useless for boxes. The truck was clean, but it had a strong stench which made the driving uncomfortable. I drove the truck 250 miles. Also, I purchased 2 mattress bags for a queen size bed. The mattress has a pillow top and would not fit in the bags. They were too tight and too short. They ripped apart while I was trying to stretch them to fit. I paid $8 for the bags, but they were useless to me.

Attendant could have taken more time with us plus we waited for 15 minutes for her to come back to the building. Billing was not correct charged on way rental and I wanted daily. I returned the truck 2 days early to the destination that she and I never spoke of and I am still being charged the extra days as well as the 2 extra days of insurance. I am not happy about this at all and when finalizing my paperwork over the phone just now I told the customer service rep this whom I had to ask the question twice too as if she was avoiding it. I just got I am sorry but you reserved it for this long and thats what you pay. I will add I have used Uhaul many times in the past but this was the worste customer service I have ever recieved the staff just didnt seem to try and listen or accomidate.

1 - Don't advertise self check-in when clearly your store was not capable of handling this service. 2 - Train employees to apologize when a truck is not ready instead of saying I don't know anything about self check-in 3 - if you say the truck is clean - make sure the truck is clean. 4 - If a customer asks for a handtruck don't say yes its in there with an attitude when in actuality it isn't in there.

I reserved a 26' Truck for 9:00 AM. When I arrived there were none available and the person told me to come back at 12:00 Noon. I settled for a 15' Truck because it was the only one available and needed to make 2 trips because of the smaller Truck. It was a significant inconvenience as I was moving furniture from the 2nd floor of a storage facility to my house to have to repeat the process and only had my helpers until 11:30 AM.

I set up the rental for pickup in Coventry CT. There apparently is a location there. Then I was told to pick up at a location in Andover CT. FInally I was told to pick up in Manchester CT. I an M not clear why there was so much confusion. I would have preferred pickup in Coventry. Instead I had to drive 20 +/- miles to pick it up. This is not a reflection on the attendant at Manchester. He was excellent.

Had a truck and car trailer rental - the units were not at the same location - how is one to get their car and the truck to a separate location. I mean that is why I needed the car trailer in the first place. Cost me hours of time and I had to pay someone else to drive my car to another location. Crappy experience, so disappointed uhaul should be better at this. I have one more trip for this move and I wish I could use another service.

We were scheduled to return the truck to 435 Main st Manchester CT, Smokers Dreams World. When we arrived they told us they don't do uhaul anymore, but they still had the large window sticker still on the window. They directed us to a gas station a few businesses down the road, they also tell us they don't participate. We called customer service, which was great, but told us they still had Smokers Dreams World as a Uhaul distributor. We will use Uhaul again.

My reservation was 3 p.m. on 2/24 till 3 p.m. on 2/25 for 24 hours. I arrived a bit early and the person at the desk adjust it to be 2:45 p.m., supposedly for 24 hours. I woke up on 2/25 at 7 a.m. to three calls from this location that I should have returned the truck overnight at 2:45 a.m. since that is what the contract said. The lady calling insisted that this is what the contract said and that she had the truck scheduled for other people. I insisted that the employee at that location made the mistake and that my reservation was clear, and she kept repeating the same thing. I was very annoyed and bothered on the day moving to a new home. I had no issues returning the truck as originally planned, but will not use or recommend this location to anyone I know.

The descriptions for the amount of room it had was not accurate. A 2-3 bedroom truck was more like a 2 bedroom apartment. Be more specific, it would have helped us plan for a bigger truck.

Customer service was excellent. However, standing outside in the rainy, snow while the vehicle is inspected upon return was a huge inconvenience. I know the point is to have the customer present so there is jo dispute but there should be covered areas wherebthe vehicles are inspected to better provide comfort for the customer whether its hot,cold or raining your customer is protected from the elements. Im a recent Cancer survivor and finishing Chemo with a low white blood count I could easily get very sick. It would have geen jice not to be waiting out in the cold,snowy,rain the day of return.

I was having trouble printing it from my email and the lady said I would have to go to the Uhaul where I rented the van. Really??? Can't put a receipt in the mail? What's so hard about that? I pre-registered on-line only to redo the process at the counter. We did not get credit for returning the truck early instead we were charged for traveling 8-miles. The uhaul was a distance from our location and I did realize running around town would be more than estimated 20 miles. We had to wait returning the truck; no one was at the counter or any explanation given. The youth working were not professional.

I planned for weeks to schedule 10 of my friends to help us move, booked the 17' van very easily online for 1pm last Friday. I hoped I'd get out of work a bit early so I could get started but didn't go to pick up until 5pm. When I showed up they had cancelled my reservation without a phone call, text, or email. Nowhere on the "guaranteed reservation" sheet or entry form does it say you must pick up within a certain window of when you book. To make matters worse nobody seemed to care and had no answer other than well we were busy and after 3-4 hours... so apparently they do this all the time. And all they had left was 26' trucks which I didn't think I could drive. Lucikily I have a friend who can drive anything and he was nice enough to pick it up for me. When I talked to Ryan the Manager the next day I at least expected some empathy, maybe something about re-training, but while he gave me a discount every thing he said was followed by the word "but". We shouldn't have canceled it BUT you were late, it doesn't say it on the reservation BUT... so he was basically blaming me. Unacceptable and I hope UHauls corporate office reads these. You can bet all of my friends have heard about this and will do what they can to use other vehicles. In fairness on the vehicle's end - it ran well and had plenty of power
