The gentleman helping us today was completely unfriendly and unhelpful. When we went to hook up the trailer we realized the wrong size ball was on our tow hitch. We had the correct ball in the vehicle but did not bring our tools to switch it out. We asked the gentleman if we could borrow some adjustable wrenches to switch it out but he told us his boss left and he has all the tools (a story I find hard to believe). He said we could purchase a whole new hitch with the correct size ball if they have one in stock. We said no thank you we will just go get a wrench instead. Luckily the customer service at Lowes was much better and the nice gentleman we came across let us borrow the necessary tools to swap out our ball. Unfortunately the endeavor wasted an extra hour of our time. If it weren't for the poor customer service we encountered we would probably use this location again because it has a good selection of equipment and is easy to access from the frontage road.JOCELYN A.

I will never use UHaul ever again. My experience has been a nearly 3-month long nightmare, and I don't even know where to begin. Between the poor customer service and having to fight to get an erroneous charge reversed, I am at a loss for words with how bad UHaul is. First and foremost, any attempts to call UHaul at the 1-800-GO-U-HAUL line requires at least two hours literally. I don't remember staying on hold and waiting for a representative any shorter than 45 minutes the first time. Hopefully, they don't hang up after a nearly hour-long wait or have to transfer you, which has happened to me at least twice. I have been passed around from representative to representative, and I'm on the phone with UHaul at least once a week typically now. Next, the UHaul representative placed my phone order for additional UBoxes wrong. In fact, it was so incorrect that one of the UHaul representatives told me, "Whoever placed this order had no clue what they were doing." I also had to convince a representative that I had a third U-box and inform them that it was not shipped. I have had to repeatedly call because there were so many mistakes related to this one experience. What else went wrong? I arranged the pickup date for the UBoxes at least one month in advance. They were late to pick up the UBoxes by nearly three days, and I had to call them to see if they were planning on picking them up. Additionally, I was threatened with additional fees if I did not fold all the furniture blankets. Oh, and did I mention that I was charged for shipping not once but TWICE? These are charges above $1000 each. Despite multiple calls and screenshots that I am being charged twice without a refund, UHaul has convinced themselves they have done nothing wrong. Tonight, a UHaul representative told me to keep calling and "don't give up" when I tried to follow up about getting the second shipping charge refunded. Moreover, they advised me to go to the nearest UHaul store and refuse to leave until a general manager came to speak to me. These are the lengths they expect a customer to do for money that they erroneously charged me. All they could do for me was reopen a "Customer Action Form" that I had already previously placed for all these mistakes. I am struggling to find any part of my experience that was positive. This is how UHaul, a big business, treats a small family. I am at a loss for what to do next. All I can do is advise you not to use them and save yourself the headache.Megan H.

We have rented many, many times from this location and always had good experiences. This was the exception. We were told the vehicle was full of gas. When we got in the truck I took a picture of the instrument cluster to document the starting mileage and fuel gauge. The gauge was already just below full. After we drove the vehicle 25 ,iles it required over 6 gallons of fuel to fill it. Almost $19 rather than $5 that it should have required. The lot attendant checking us in was very distracted when we dropped it off and only asked if we had any issues and handed my wife the final bill. We didn't get a chance to refute the "Full of Fuel" issue we experienced. We would appreciate a $14 credit be issued against this rental bill. Everything was absolutely wonderful EXCEPT on the ramp one of the straps was missing and in Arizona at 109* the heat ðŸ”¥ of the ramp was too hot to grab so pulling the ramp out & putting it away was BRUTAL on the one handâ€¼ï¸â˜€ï¸ðŸ”¥. Not necessarily the locations fault, but we had a right rear tire suddenly blow out on the freeway. It happened in a location where there was no cell service so the roadside assistance number was worthless.. Fortunately, this van had a spare tire and the tools so I changed it myself. The vehicle was in complete disrepair and unsafe to drive. This was not apparent until driving at freeway speeds long after doing an initial inspection. The steering alignment was dangerously out of spec, the passenger door would partially open while driving over bumps, and the weather stripping around the windshield came off while driving. The people onsite are efficient and helpful. I cannot recommend U-Haul though as there reservation system is terrible. I reserved a trailer about 2 months in advance and within 2 days of my pickup date, I was informed there was no trailer for me anywhere near the site of my reservation. The closest one was 1 1/2 hours away. So it was a 3 hour round trip just to get the trailer and then of course our 6 hour drive to CA. Ridiculous. This was the worst experience from start to finish. First off no on called to say when they were coming for boxes, they were just gone when we got back from moving houses. Then they took the boxes, with all of our stuff, and just disappeared with it. Did not move it from one house to the next same day as expected, oh no they took it to the storage facility. Not that they told us that, no i find out after going to the store and asking where my stuff is the next day. I called Uhual and asked to have a supervisor or someone call me to get it settled. here we are a week later and still no one has called. then after they finally get it to the house three days later I say I will need them for a week to unload. Next day the driver calls and asks me to move my truck so she can get boxes. My stuff is still in there and the only reason it wasn't taken back was cause I had a feeling these dumb non communicating morons would do that, and they did. I would highly recommend never using this company or its products or services. Oh an its a moving company that cant do anything or make any decisions on weekends, when you are using them and moving. 0 out of 5 starsMichael G.
This is one of the worst experiences I ever had with a company. The problem was the tracking and phone service. This location not picking up the phone, waiting an hour for Phoenix to pick up the phone and then getting transferred and getting hung up on. It says you can track your ubox, but that is not correct. Since my son had already moved his family across the country, I told him I would handle shipping the boxes from Tucson to Indianapolis. When it came time to ship, I went to the location on April 12, giving them the address, explaining this is a new address in a new sub division. I was assured they would be at the house on May 11. On April 25, I checked to find out where the boxes were, still at the warehouse. On the 26 I went to the location to see what was the problem( no one would answer the phone). The manager called shipping, and was told they had to put a new address in a different way. I was told boxes would be picked up by the April 28, and at the house on May 12, even though the movers were to be there May 11. Manager said no need to worry boxes usually get there early. Still no way to track. Boxes were not picked up until May 5, I got a email saying May 11 at the warehouse in Indy, May 12 at the house. My son had taken May 11 off to be with the movers. I was told he should change his day which he couldn't. No contact from uhaul, called to find out no boxes at the Indy warehouse May 11 night. Nobody knows where they are. Told my daughter in law to move movers to the 13th. Boxes were delivered to warehouse on the 12, the manager named Mason, got the boxes at the house around 8:30 that night. Movers came the next morning, but my son couldn't be there, so it was left to my daughter in law with my 5 month old grandchild to work with the movers. I know your going to say uhaul got the boxes there on the 12th. But I let my son down. It's hard enough to have to move to a new job, new city where you know no one, with a new child. He was depending on me and I failed. They needed them on the 11th. As far as haul, I'm putting this undue stress on you. If I had not check on those boxes, they would had been still sitting in Tucson. And they sat another week. I expect a call from someone in upper management to explain how this all happened. I had my rental on auto pay and my card quit working so I had my bank make me one. Unbeknownst to me my auto pay was interrupted, I received a late notice with a late fee. So my first thought was is all my stuff gone? I called Josh the manager at the store to get this straightened out. Once he explained about experation on card and cc numbers changing when getting another card. I would have thought the idiots at my bank would inform me about it. Go figure . Then the extra amount was a blow also. I know it is only $16 but right now every penny counts. Josh explained everything to me and he took off the late fee. Most places dont operate like this especially corporations because it is about the bottom line. Now remember I have multiple life issues going on now that the last thing g I need is another headdd ache. With josh taking off the late fee ( without having to argue about)made my day. Because of his kindness I will be renting for at least two more months at $76 per mo. Instead of paying the whole bill and closing out my storage with yall. So acting in good faith for me as a customer , your company just profited $132 instead of $16. Not to mention me talking to everyone about it and I have a big mouth. I have spoken with josh before and he has always been a professional but today he went over and above . He deserves to be recognized and not just by me. The staff didn't know you can check out on-line, may need training update. On the website it says to leave the key card inside the unit and close the door when vacating. But, you need the keycard to open the gate to exit the facility. This is confusing so someone may need to make a change to this. Otherwise, great facility. Can not lock storage unit. Friendly staff said they'd fix it and call. Haven't heard yet if I can start my storage. I feel as if I'm being charged although I can't use it, not sure what I can do. I asked that if I was not to have a prorated refund that my unit not be rented because I paid for the whole month. The representative (not wearing a mask) proceded to berate me. Telling me the only way they would do that is if I kept the unit AND returned the following month to cancel the unit. He (unmasked during the exchange) was hollering at me as I left. The staff at this location was less than helpful & I ended up having to get 3 units. 2 at this location and 1 other at a completely different facility & company. This issue would have been handled better had they given me the largest unit as I asked for in the beginning. The gentleman helping was not interested in looking or listening. Went the uhaul at 4040 ina where I was treated abusivly by the staff! Being gaslights repeatedly by a dispicable woman at intake,who repeatedly gas lighted me and was mislead by shop personnel to repair area! Causing damage to my vehicle!! Finally ended up at the one on the frontage road off of Cortaro where I was rescued from the horrible attacks at the 4040 ina location!! Service man accused me of being drunk! And in a location never had a dui in my life and was not Inebriated when I returned five hours early next day was again repeatedly abused by the same person! Was redirected to Cortaro location ,where I received proper treatment by staff that seemed to care! Joshua the manager there made things right for me! Thank God for him and his courteous staff!...please note something is very wrong at the 4040 ina location! I’m 72 years old a disabled American vet! I did not deserve to be treated abusively by the people at 4040 ina location! Was one of the worst experiences ever by co personnel!. The parking spots by the units are always permanently taken by trailers and derelict autos, in various states of repair. The storage facility is modern and very clean! This is the second time I used a U-haul storage and this one by far is the best one -- a sliding down door and metal wall interior. The previous one (Lubbock, TX) was all wood, concrete floor, but a swinging wooden door, like a barn. It wasn't as roomy. But, this one today was pleasantly impressive. Clean & modern.
