Not only did they not have the key in the box ready for pick up at the time of the reservation but we had to wait for someone to come in and get the key and the equipment that we reserved since it was apparent the truck had not been detailed before we went to pick it up.Floyd T.

When I scheduled my one way trip from Florida to Oklahoma, I needed to be able to unload my cargo at a self-storage unit. I was going to Allen, Oklahoma, but the closest unit available was 1.5 hours away in Oklahoma City. I agreed to that location only because it was free for the first month (though I failed to think about gas for my truck - not free). Anyway, I was concerned that a unit number had not been assigned when I saw my reservation and called the location weeks in advance of the start date for my unit. I was told that units do not get assigned until you show up for your reservation, but was assured that everything was in order for my reservation. The day of my cargo and trailer drop-off, I received a text message that my drop-off location had been changed. I called the original location again, and I was transferred to the call center with a 39 min. estimated wait time. I hung up the first time because I didn't actually have that much time to wait at the moment. After completing my errand, I called again, was transferred to the call center again, this time with a 19 min. wait time, during which I was forced to listen to repeated messages about going to their website instead of calling. I wish I could have, but I was on the long 1.5 hour drive to Oklahoma City. When the representative finally answered he said he couldn't help me and needed to transfer me. Then there was nothing...no annoying U-Haul messages on repeat, no music...nothing. Still I had waited so long already and was trying to navigate the truck and trailer around an actual train wreck, that I decided to stay on hold for another 10 minutes. Then I disconnected the call and called in again to the location, the estimated wait was 10 minutes. I lost signal on the drive just as that 10 minutes was up. I called in again. The estimate was 10 minutes. I waited and the representative again said she couldn't help me and needed to transfer me, again I went into the black hole of nothingness for 15 minutes this time. Then I disconnected. The next time I called I already reached the original location, instead of being transferred to a call center. Donna said that unfortunately, they did not have my unit available anymore and found another location 15 minutes away that did have one. I changed direction and went there. When I arrived, they said they did not have a unit available that was climate controlled downstairs as I originally reserved, but they did have one that wasn't climate controlled upstairs (sorry no elevator). They called around to other locations, but only one location actually answered the phone and they didn't have the kind of unit I needed. I walked outside to look at the self-storage area and call the original location again, but could only reach the call center, which again transferred me into the black hole. I returned back to the office and the employee had called one of the customers who was supposed to already move in and they gave up their unit. What a relief that was! Then they forced me to buy a special lock saying it was required, although 2 of the storage units right next to mine didn't have that style lock. When I go pick my stuff up, I will have my new fifth wheel trailer in tow and I am not looking forward to maneuvering through their lot. I'm glad this whole ordeal with U-Haul is almost over. Their system and customer service could definitely use an overhaul! I would recommend trying another service provider.APRIL S.

Well, if you offer something and I reserve it, THEN HAVE ITâ€¦..an appliance dolly means just that. Let's talk billingâ€¦ and im aware of your standard verbiageâ€¦. Hold on at time of rental. UPON RETURN, a gap was realized as extra mileage happened, NO ISSUE WITH THATâ€¦â€¦. ISSUE IS WHY WOULD YOU PUT A HOLD ON THE CARD FOR THE GAP AT THE EXACT SAME TIME YOU BILLED THE ACTUAL TOTAL?? There was no reason to put a hold on the card for the gap. Maybe you should get folks with an IQ higher than 50 to do billing!DANIEL S.

Something was wrong with the mirror the entire time I was driving until I was forced to go to a facility that I did not want to go to I didn't feel safe with the brakes they felt like they were not stopping at the time of me pushing on the brakes it took a while for it to stopPRECIOUS M.

Communication! Reserved a truck and pick up location for any location on the NW side of the Metro. 2 days before picking up truck, I was called and directed to the SE location for pick up. This was extremely inconvenient for my move. I mentioned that location will not work. I was told it was the only location that had a 15ft truck. When arrived for to pick up truck on Saturday July 10th. I was told there were no dollies left rent out, when I had already rented a dolly.Amberly C.

There was a communication issue. We were told if we put gas in the truck (back to the level it was when we picked it up, which was documented) we would not be charged for gas. However, they charged us anyway. My husband didn't realize this and when we went back in to discuss the error there were 6 more people in line and only one person working the counter. When we finally got to the front of the line, the gentleman working was â€œnot a manager and could not make any changesâ€ however he said when the manager got back he would call me to make it right and I never heard from anyone again after that.Becky P.

I had issues with the website not recognizing my location on my phone for both pickup and drop off. Why can I not manually input this information? Also, I arrived back at the store at 7:05pm, they close at 7pm, but no clear instructions on how to return after hours. The location picked up the uhaul was nice and clean. But, there was only one employee on duty. I asked her where the help was, because she was slammed with customers, some nice some not. She said her boss was in back and wouldn't answer the phone. The other employee was getting drug tested due to a forklift accident the day before. Even thou she was over whelmed, she was nice and curtious. She got my truck, left it on to cool it down , put on my appliance dolly, and handed me the keys. She deserves a raise. Customer service at this location has gone down hill fast, i have left several messages for the general manager who has been there over 15 years and no reply , called customer service , no reply... i have been renting from here for 12 plus years and never had these issues.. Not very happy at this point and looking to do business with someone else in the future. If they aren't concerned about the regular customers they have and just concerned about the one ways they do then they don't deserve my money of my business. To this day still waiting on the phone call back which i will probably never get .. Hope management will see this because they are losing a long term customer .RENEE M.

When I walked in the door, an employee greeted me and then said she would help me in just a moment. She then put her backpack on and walked out the door. The other gentleman helping customers was very rude and did not acknowledge any of the customers that were waiting. David finally came out of the back and was helpful and nice. i asked 2 times for a dolly never received it....was told the gas was on 1/8 tank it was empty.....the truck kept stalling out and had a hard time getting it started EVERYTIME I started it....when putting gas in you have to drive it before it will even register...needless to say I picked it up on E and returned it on 1/4 tankCHRISTINE H.

Contacted UHaul yesterday via FB about a rental. I specifically asked if there were additional fees for dropping off in Tulsa, where I'm moving to. They specifically said no. I made the rental and somewhere in the fine print it said I had to return to Midwest City. Not only was I charged the return mileage, I was charged DOUBLE return mileage. I feel I was lied to. I am so angry with UHaul and I hope nobody I know uses them. I wish they were up front with me instead of deceptive. The lady on the phone at the Midwest City UHaul was very polite in saying it didn't matter what I was told.Steven P.

The lady at the call center was not clear on all of the rental details. I was not told that I had to go to the location to finalize the rental. I was not told that I had to use a certain lock. I was not told that my unit was upstairs. I am not able to navigate stairs very well. After a day of packing, I was very upset to learn that the only remaining unit of the size I rented was upstairs!! I had no choice at that point but to keep the unit.
