Clean truck (at least a little). Put equipment in truck (they have done so at other locations), and most importantly - Don't intentionally overcharge me! I believe this to all be deliberate and intentional, and I imagine encouraged by UHaul.GEORGE B.

Awful service from the start. I had a GUARANTEED RESERVATION for a 26' van that I requested 3 weeks ahead of time; got a call from a regional to make sure the truck was needed and I confirmed it. Got a text a few days before to re-make sure I needed the truck and when the day came, the truck was not there. Everyone passes the puck to the other person, from the location I originally reserved the van, to customer service to the location I had to drive to to get a SMALLER van for a higher price. That's not all, when I called customer service to ask if the van can be returned to my original pick up location, I pretty much was told that there is nothing they can do; I HAD to returned it to the location I picked it up from or suffer then consequences, which was that I'd be charge 2 times my rental. Literally AWFUL service overall, no accountability and no sympathyWILLIAM J.

There was trash in the van and the cleaning solution scent only temproarily covered up the awful smell of what smelled like someone who had got sick in the van. The van had 1/4 tank of gas when received. As a corporate account holder this is ABSOLUTELY unacceptable!JEFFREY W.

I had a reservation for 8:30 in the morning it got change to 1:30pm because they didnt have the auto transport. We get there at 1:30 and still no auto transport said they will have it for 5-6pm we get there at 6:45 and still nothing at this point my move has been completely moved back. When i arrived the trailer its not there the lady tell me in half a hour its gonna be there i leave to come back she never call me i wait more than a hour! The lighting in the storage area hallways is only activated by sensors at each end of very long hallways. Which means people utilizing rooms in the middle of those long hallways often have the lights go out on them.Dave H. | Overall Experience

Disappointed that I had to drive to the Northboro location instead of Clinton or Leominster. I had to drive more miles than I normally would have...move was pick up in Leominster and complete the move in Clinton. Also overcharged 2+ miles!!JOSEPH D.
This was a terrible experience. The manager offered a discount due to my equipment not being available. I rented the largest 2 axle open trailer available and was offered a motorcycle trailer, but they helped other people who came in after me, making me wait an hour and offering me a $50 When I finally left with the correct trailer I was there for an hour and a half. I have used this facility for many years and have always been given equipment that was in excellent running condition. This time the truck I was given was far from perfect. The truck was very old and had steering problems. When I was on the highway I couldn't go 65 mph without the truck shaking. It is probably time to retire this truck. I notified the agent that was there of my experience with the truck.LAURA B.
â€œWe have a 15' Moving Van reserved for you and guaranteedâ€ is what the email from U-Haul told me the day before my reservation. It also said my reservation was now moved to the Northborough location instead of Worcester. This is much farther away and added a ton of inconvenience to my moving process, but fine I need a truck. Get to Northborough and I am told the day before my move across two states, â€œI don't have a truck for you.â€ After scrambling around the girl found a 20' truck for me instead. I completed my move and returned the truck to U-haul in NJ. U-Haul in central MA seems to need better control of their inventory. Also, please realize that people aren't always doing local moves and are not flexible with dates. And don't email me telling me a truck is â€œreserved and guaranteedâ€ (your words) when it is not. I would highly recommend you take pictures of your driver's license to speed up the check in process, but DO NOT under any circumstances prepay for your reservation. You may be paying for a â€œghost truckâ€. In my case, I was lucky to be able to switch to a larger truck but that might not always happen. I would rent a truck from U-Haul again, but not from this particular location.Joseph N.

I had prepaid for the month of October and cleaned out my unit expecting a prorated refund of the prepayment but they couldn’t give me the refund. Instead they told me to call the 1-800 number or come back the next day to speak to a manager. Other than that experience that had me waiting at the front desk for almost a hour trying to figure that out, it was good. Remove the UHaul sticker that is blocking camera for the driving assistance and was throwing errors the entire ride! This was on a new Ford van I rented with only 100 miles on it. Basically you are defeating the safety feature of the van by an oversight in sticker placement!!! You overlooked something very small but very important!Gary G.
This location is the worst. I was never meant to drop anything off here. Their workers fucked up the numbers and then they tried to charge me almost 3000. Even after calling and explaining that THEY where the ones who messed up all they cared about was getting money from me that they didn't deserve. Overall the process was excellent. I did notice a tie-down rail in the trailer was pulling away from the wall rendering a 2-foot portion near the door unfunctional. Also, the Right turn indicator bulb was out. This may have occurred during my rental as I believe it was working upon departure.Lars F.

I called to confirm my trailer was available that morning (and was told it was) and upon arrival was told it was stolen days ago and I should have been notified/unable to book. There also was metal debris in the parking lot that I ran over when pulling up to the trailer which fortunately did not cause damage to my vehicle. Make sure the staff who assist with attaching the tow-dolly are trained and knowledgeable. Young man you attached mine didn't know how the ratchet strap worked, and when he guided me onto the dolly, I was actually on an angle and didn't set squarely in the tire pockets. Towing was 'squirrely', and fender would bump my car during a right turn. Ended up going to a different U-Haul location to get car attached correctly. No issues after that correction.Brenda S.

This was the first and last time that I have used uhaul. The website is unnecessarily confusing and when I needed to change something, it wouldn't let me. Calling 800-go-uhaul means I have to wait at least 45 minutes. Even when I call my local uhaul I get forwarded to 800-go-uhaul. I was told that I "had" to let the destination location know when I was going to be there. For what? When I got there, I had to wait for them to retrieve my ubox. Other container companies that I have used have the process nailed down. Guess who I'll use next time...Ken V.

Their record-keeping is terrible. When I was there to hand over my space, they were trying to help a renter to get his invoice corrected. Who was upset as there was some billing issues and not recorded properly? I had emptied the storage two months ago and did inform the young lady at the desk. I have tried calling and emailing them but no response. Finally, I was able to speak to a gentleman and informed him about this ordeal, and made it to the house. I submitted a dispute about the $30.00 fuel service charge and gas charge of 6 gallons about this order. Shortly after I received a call from you saying you would remove these charges. I saw that you put $30.00 refund to my credit card. I thank you for that. But you did not refund me the charge for 6 gallons of gas. I don't think that was fair. The total mileage I used your truck for was less than 25 miles. How could the truck consume 6 gallons for 25 miles? Besides, I added more than 3 gallons of gas to the tank before I return the truck. Please either explain how your 6-gallon fuel consumption charge was calculated, or refund me the unfair gas charge!Jun M.

We measured UHaul's superiority over the competition in the following areas: - Customer service: We worked with Felix and Sarah in the Northborough location and they were truly remarkable. This aspect stood out most to us. Sarah went the extra mile to reserve two different sized storage units for us that were across from each other to ensure our convenience. Felix dedicated his time to both us and the movers and made the actual move date very efficient. - Cost: Comparable to the competition, but at this cost, the competition's storage units were not indoors and heated and did not sell moving supplies. - Moving supplies: Order a little more than you think you need and save the receipt. We returned all unused boxes and unopened items for a full refund. We were very happy about this! If you opt to order supplies online, allow for free delivery 2-3 weeks prior to move date. - Heated indoor storage (as stated above). - Several sizes of storage compartments from which to choose. - Access hours were far better than ALL of the area competition! - Indoor lightining and cameras go far to ensure security of belongings. Recommend that phone and in-person communication may provide a more fruitful experience than using the online.
