The woman who assisted us in obtaining our vehicle was phenomenal. To be honest, we only chose U-Haul as all other trucks were booked in the city. There have been 2 other occasions in the past couple of years where we had a truck booked and walked out of the location without a vehicle due to awful service so this was a very welcome surprise.Josh H.

Horrible customer service, at the counter was great but the staff outside at return were rude, impolite and after i asked him a question he said give me 2 mins i said no problem thinking he was going to ask inside. He proceeded to walk away from me and ask a man that got there 15 mins after me hi i can help you. Then when i was shocked i went inside the lady told me i had to go back out and when i came back he shouted at me *WHYD YOU GO INSIDE* i ignored his comment and he asked again shouting. The trailer number that I was assigned at the cash was not actually there on the lot, so I had to go back inside and ask for a different trailer number. The staff was friendly and professional and was able to correct the issue efficiently.Philip S.
Advise the person renting about the return information...we waited in line 20 minutes to be told to go outside and find someone to finish the transaction. We had been outside at the truck for 10 minutes prior to waiting- no one approached us....35 minutes to return a truck.....on top of a long day moving.Mario F.

When my son rented a truck for his move, when he arrived that morning, the truck was unavailable and he had to wait for one. It was suppose to have a dolly,and it was missing, so he had to go back again to get one. I rented a dozen blankets and was not informed that it was a daily rate and was charged for 3 days when I would have brought them back a day sooner had I been informed! There is a lot of stress that goes on with a move and you can't think of everything so they should inform people so there are no surprises. I was quite upset as this is a money grab that wasn't necessary. When I asked the manager she said she couldn't do anything about it because it's all electronically done!rachel P.

I did my pre online pick up as it said it would save time. I waited 30 minutes in line. There was only one persone for customer service. They were four people in line. She was also answering the phone. Took care of an employee that was checking in for work from an agency. Called the agency' for verification, signed off on paper work, talked on the phone with other U-Haul stores. There was another employee that was checking stock in the shelves by the registers and didn't even look at the line up. So much for customer comes first, more like we don't really care.Jean L.

Staff was friendly and knowledgeable the only issue we had was using the Uhaul app to book the reservation and online check-in this was supposed to save time by taking photos of your drivers licence and paying in advance. That didn't save any time it actually took longer as I had to do a second transaction on my credit card to pay for the tax and had to present my drivers license and the agent took photos again. They definitely need work on the app and online check-in.KEVINB M.

Albeit it far from my home(25 mins in one direction) I'd happily return! Melanie and Eric were so gracious and helpful. They are such excellent employees and a true asset to U-Haul. The location was clean and really cool! I loved it. I hate only giving glowing reviews, if I were forced to point to a place of improvement it would be the way the parking lot is arranged with parking. It seemed a bit cramped. What a gong show! Manager took the truck that I had rented and was not back by pick up time. Took for ever to get the keys to another truck even though we had pre-registered. We were handed the keys but not shown to the truck. When another employee started to direct us, the rental person said "they can find it". After 10 minutes of trying the key in different door locks she finally came out to help another customer and we asked and were directed to the correct truck. Even though we pre-registered check in took 1/2 hr. Truck return was smooth and easy. Overall, very unprofessional.Janet M.

I purchased the 75 dollar insurance package, at the pick up location Collingwood they said just drive into the drop off location Ottawa, and leave it. Ottawa was not busy but the attendant ran me through the gamut, blinkers, brake lights, fuel gauge, does the insurance matter at drop off any more. The driving fuel economy gauge is basically useless if the accelerator is directly linked to the gauge which it is. Every little bit of wind or hill is tied to the carbeurator which uses more gas and sets the fuel economy gauge to max. the gauge is a gimmic not a rental feature.Jeff M.

If you did the online checkin, you shouldn't have to wait 45 min to get thru the line to the check-in desk and then wait outside another 20 mins to get your rental. Their should be a line for online check-in. Your paperwork should be ready. One signature and go, if needed. I rented a trailer, but I could see all the van / truck returns being cleaned holding up the line. Maybe the staff should be in 1-2 hours early on busy days to have everything ready to go.John W.
You need to understand what a "reservation" means! Don't allow people to reserve trucks that don't exist! And don't call them 2 days before at 7:30 PM to say there are no trucks avalabe in the entire city! Moving is a stressful time and uhaul makes it far more stressful! I do appreciate the person who was able to find a (smaller) truck, but this added stress shouldn't be on the customer.Patrick L.

I had the worst costumer service in this location. First of all the line up for pick up was so long. I waste more than one hour of my time. When I mentioned to the cashier, she didn't care. She told me that she can not extend my time. If I am late even a minute, it's counting 30 minutes and I have to pay 20 dollars extra. Then the employees for pick up killed my time again and came to sanitize and swipe the uhaul at my time while I was even one hour late due to the lineup. The worst location ever. I don't recommend anyone this location.Mohd D.
I reserved truck in month advance and still my location changed and i was picked 20 km from my desired location, but reason was given several booking ans month end, still i agree bcz mine is big move i rented 26' truck but the day i went on 29th of my . I requestedfor utiliy dolly and furniture dolly and the sales person said they dont have anything available. I said booked online but they said its not worked that way . I think it's digital and i belive i uhaul should update technology bc if someone renteed a truxk and they need equipment as well . So i end up with pitchy furniture dollly and i have to arrange the utility dolly and purchassed as well. I book a reservation for a 20' truck and they called to inform me that if I want to pick it up from Innes and returned back in barrhaven I should go to Gatineau at 10 o'clock, even my reservation was for 7:30 am and when I inform them that it's not possible. they told me that 26' truck will be available at Innes at 7:30 but I have to returned to Innes which caused more waste of time and money.Ayoub M.

The whole experience was a nightmare considering that the truck I rented 3 week prior wasn't provided to me. I was left with a 26ft truck (10ft more then I needed). The truck was quite dirty on the inside - which we needed to clean prior to leaving for our move. Cup holders broken. The gas tank was completely empty- contrary to what we were told. Very frustrating trying to return after hours. I made the mistake of putting key in lock box before getting milage and gas level . Needed to turn on ignition to be able to see odometer. 20$ return fee seems unreasonable. No fault of location but of corporate policy. Improve your website. Arranging/securing an online reservation is cumbersome and frustrating. Having page after page of repeatedly having to click to opt-out of unnecesary and expensive add-ons is maddening; it's greedy. I came very canceling and renting from a competitor. I got charged late fees while the money was in my account so many times. I even called last month to ask why the payment did not go through and why I had no emails, the lady helped me and tried to reprocess the payment and it still did not work. I decided to empty my unit and use another storage. The staff at the Orleans location is helpful however the general Uhaul number is useless. The Manager (Young Guy) was very disrespectful. opened my storage without notifying me and additionally treated me very disrespectfully! There is a female employee who works only day shifts from what I have noticed.... long dark hair. She never smiles, never a pleasant welcome... does not look happy to be working. We have encountered her three times. In the beginning of my rentals she was to have the manager call me (Paul) as we first booked on line and what we booked was not available (not our fault the website was not reflective of what was available) so I told her that I wanted to have the same price of a unit t that we booked online for. She said she couldn’t authorize that and would have the manager call me. Never received a call. I called 3 times to speak to Paul and talked to the same girl 3 times she said Paul wasn’t in ... so I asked her 3 times to have Paul call me. Never got a call. I was so frustrated that I just gave up on trying... it ended up that I needed and second locker which aggravated me even more because I didn’t want my stuff all over Ottawa. Most of the staff that work there are not welcoming... there is one other girl with long dark hair who is very pleasant and always smiling and the manager Paul is very pleasant Based on my experience with that First Lady ... and other unfriendly workers And feeling very unwelcome as a customer..... Regarding closing the account: I was surprise to find out that their was no pro-rata per day with U-Haul. I should of read the whole contract at the counter in front of your cashier employee before agreeing of taking the storage unit. Unfortunately its impossible to read the find print of your contract when the booking is done over the phone or at the counter. IF I MAY SUGEST, this should be clarify at the time of the booking on the phone or at the counter by your sale team, this would certainly prevent a disappointment, frustration and hard ship when money is tight. Overall satisfied. One issue was that the map did not match reality and the unit we were originally assigned was a different size and we had to go back to the office to wait in line and get moved to another location. Not a huge deal, but also a bit strange. While we were waiting, the couple in front of use were clearly having the same issue. A bit strange that that if the map is wrong that it would not be corrected or at least that the staff would not know which were which even if there had not been time yet to fix the maps. Upset that the walk in reservation was not "Saved". I called 2 days before my check in and all data was lost i had to go the reservation process. I also couldn't check in on line I was always getting an error.. Regardless of the protection glass your staff should still wear masks... The indoor storage space was great. The problem I had over and over again, is that I couldn’t get in. I wasted time and money when I was trying to move out, because the code was not working. I called and told them the next day, they said they will reset it,I came back after work and couldn’t get in again! There is no one to call after 7 pm. I had to wait again till the next day. Then there’s the confusing issue of 2 boxes, to punch your number into, and you have to punch in your number to the one on the left first... if you punch it in on the right before the left it will look you out- no one explained that until I got locked out- it makes no sense why it has to be that way- , anyways my number did not work in either boxes.Then I realized there’s a 3rd punch in box. There should be clear instructions. It was a very frustrating experience to go there 3 times, and be looked out all there times after getting reassurances from the staff that my code works and that I should be able to get in.MAGIDA K. | Overall Experience

During my telephone conversation last week, i was quoted 124.95 for a storage space equal or relatively close to the 15ft moving truck I rented. But. on august 29, when i brought my items, I was toll that the price was 269.95 per month with the first month free. That is not what I agreed. My rental trucks air conditioning wasn’t working. It was very hot and uncomfortable. Also the service is very very slow, you need to hire more people. I left the lineup because I couldn’t wait..you can’t have 1 person working, and answering phone calls and 10 people in line. The facility is excellent and well equipped. The washroom was really appreciated. Some improvements in the website when signing up is a little difficult and when you check there are items that in there that you did not selected. Signing in is hidden at the bottom in Manage you account. Also reservation is hard when I select storage to reserve and checking out I received an error, double check everything but still error.
