Although I would recommend individual rental stores, my experience with Uhaul has been hit and miss. I say 2 bedroom apartment, I get a 15' truck and have to rent a cargo trailer a week later. I say 5x10 storage unit plus some furniture and I get a 6x12 cargo trailer and now have to make an additional trip.

Service in turning equipment in was poor. Three employees on site. One was managing desk and walk ins. One taking returns leisurely and a third that sat out front in a trailer. Smoking. For the hour I waited.

The staff at this location (Court Street Pasco, WA) were very curt and rude. The lady who was there at 8a for pick up especially but the one guy when I went to drop off completely dismissed the fact that we had an issue and was pretty unfriendly himself. It was bad enough I will be using a different location.

When I rented a truck, I used 3 miles less than my estimated distance and returned it an hour early. Instead of receiving the $2 credit I was supposed to receive (as stated by the representative who I returned the truck to), I was charged an additional $13. Only after calling and explaining the bill to the u-Haul representative multiple times was my $15 refund processed. Hopefully, I will see the refund in a few days.

The truck was ok.. I was thankful they gave extra miles and I think a day but the extra cost of fuel for the truck took everything we had and the appliance dolly was broken and we had no choice but to use it as we drove to anther town just to find out they don't carry that type of stuff from Uhaul it was about 60 miles out of our way in our own truck and fuel I know that I should have called but I was already stressed out the head lights on the truck are just flat scary could not see 2 feet infront if the truck when we turned it back in we told the guy about them then we seen him and he was like ya they where scary bad I have rented and worked for you all and I can't believe how the equipment has declined the way it has and they your employees don't look out for the company the way we used to the place we dropped off the truck was awesome he made sure the dolly was tagged bad and said they will check the lights.... I hope in the future when I have to rent a truck witch I will one more time that I don't have the same problems as it is just me and my hubby moving and that dolly hurt him.....

Front end was congested due to large truck blocking drive. This wasn't due to uhaul, the folks explained that someone dropped the truck off without leaving the keys. Better solution might be to have large trucks dropped off in the back of this location.

We were not shown the truck that was rented - it was only pointed out by the clerk from the desk and said "there it is". I was charged for furniture pads that were not in the truck, nor did I have a need for them. I have talked to customer service and was told I'd be contacted in 3 days. The original person I talked to hung up on me and when I told the next person when I called back, I was told I would be sent the tape. Why do I need the tape when this is an internal problem? I'm not happy with the follow up care at all.

Two things : First, my credit card has been charged more than I was told for the truck. It should have been 39.95 for one day. I replaced the gas and just noticed I was charged double on my credit card. I returned the truck at 8:00pm after the store was closed on the same day. Second, I initially rented a 5x5x10 at # 1612 or 1621 i forget but realized it was too small and asked Christopher to credit my card back for the 2 months I initially paid for. He was busy with other customers so I left but not before he promised that he would credit my credit card. I have yet seen the credit on my card. Also, last night on the rental uhaul truck the cargo light in the back did not work as well. I had to use a flashlight to see in the cargo area ( in the back where you load the shipment ) I hope these issues gets resolved otherwise I will contact corporate office. Thank you, Leroy Nelson

Get your booking and tracking system sorted out. It took more than 15 phone calls over two days to secure a vehicle with two wrong reservations being made. It's much easier to rent a truck from Home Depot or Penske.

When I reserved Truck, I asked what the cost was for a day & was told it was $29.95 + $.79/mi. ($20.70). The actual amount charged included a $14.00 SafeMove insurance chg,, a $1.00 environmental fee and a for a total of $71.49. I think the extra chgs should have been disclosed at time of rental.

It was the best experience I've had at any trailer rental business. The workers were very efficient and courteous.

When I returned the truck the clerk ask me wher the truck was an I pointed to the right side of the building next to the other trucks. He told me that for them to check it in I needed to move the truck over to the check in area. I explained to him what was the difference if I had dropped off my keys in the drop of box it would not mattered where I left the truck as long as it was not blocking traffic which it was not. I felt belittle by the agent. there were three agents at the counter and two of them where not busy with customers when I tried to drop of the truck. I would think that customer service would of said something to the effect that it is okay this time but if you rent or return an item in the future it would help speed things along if you could delivery the truck in this area. This is not what happen. My other encounters with making reservations and picking up from Two other agents was very helpful and pleasant.

I reserved a u haul on line and utilized attempted to utilize the self service option to avoid the long waiting lines. First, I had to re-provide all of the information I provided on line for the reservation which totally made the effort I went through worthless. Then I tried to utilize the self pick up option to avoid the long wait period which failed miserably. The truck that was reserved for me was not in an accessible location for me to verify during the process, then when selecting "i can't find my truck" online the process kept defaulting me back to the "locate my truck" option. In the end i had to wait in line for almost 30 minutes to get mmtge reserved vehicle. I told the representative I couldn't utilize the self checkout option at which point he said"that's because the truck was out back". Uhaul needs to fix their issues if they are going to offer these services. The pick up / drop off locations should have the vehicles ready for self checkout if the option is going to be made available, the online service should maintain all information input by the user when reserving vehicles so the process should not have to be repeated, and the representatives at the uhaul locations need to be a little more respectful of the people they are serving. I have rented many times in the past and this was the most horrible service I have received to date from uhaul. The only bright note was the drop off. The representative was courteous and punctual. Sad that getting rid of a rental truck was more uplifting than that of renting one. I for one will not be renting from uhaul anytime soon, tgat is unless you fix your issues.

Pickup went smoothly. I notified the guy at the front desk that the third party moving service was only available at 10a or 1pm and I wouldn't be back in town until after the 1pm time so I had to schedule fro 10am the following day. The truck can only be scheduled for 24hrs but the third party moving service provided was very shallow in their operating times. First guy I talked to understood this and said to call in the AM to remind him not to charge me. Got a call the next morning of a guy being short with me basically saying he was going to charge me the extra day. Kept cutting me off and not letting me explain. Get to the store and I have about 8 cardboard boxes still in the uhaul. I tell the guy I forgot to toss them at my apartment I can go back and toss them or did they have a dumpster. Says he has a dumpster but I have to break down the boxes because its a small dumpster. I say ok ,break down about half the boxes then carry them over to the dumpster, its locked. Guy goes and asks his manager for the key (same guy from phone convo) says he'll charge me extra for throwing away boxes in HIS dumpster. At this point I say fine, F it, charge me and let me get out of here. Manager proceeds to help guy in front of me for about 20mins without calling help to front desk, had 3 people behind me as well. Guy outside notices, comes in and one clicks something on a phone and charges me an extra 100 for the mileage I went over which took all of 2 seconds. I realize it must be slim pickins on this side of the world in this small town but good lord. That guy ruined any chance of me ever going to that uhaul ever again. Just utter shit customer service. I will be documenting my experience with other major review sites as well. You are lucky this is the only uhaul in town that opens on weekends. Ive heard similar stories from people here and that I should have went with Budget rentals. Will be taking my business there from now on. Good day and hope you can hire and manage better in the future.

My issue with the rental was that the truck wasn't there and i had to delay my cross country move by a day. There wasnt a lot of communication about what they were doing to fix the issue. Also my reservation for my tow dolly was cancelled and never replaced. So that slowed things down the next morning when i was finally able to get my truck.

As a first-time user I did not know where to go or what to do when I got there. There was no one in the area to indicate where I should go ever where I should Park and what I should do. The guy that helped me out, although very nice and professional, seemed overworked. Although I was just hooking up a 5x8 trailer, my time from arrival to departure was over 45 minutes which seems excessive. Other than that the equipment worked fine and as expected.

I was interested to learn that not all U Haul locations (centers vs. dealers) were required to keep the vehicles or trailers at the same standards (cleanliness, tire pressure, etc.). I'm glad I rented from a center.

Things to make customer's feel more welcomed at this location could include: installing new chair at front desk (worn), put a stool as well at the counter, update and keep up on cleaning restroom, label direction to restroom, have free coffee, acknowledge customers even if you are on the phone, perhaps have a number taking system so customers could sit down while waiting rather than standing in line for an extended period of time. Overall my experience was fine and good. Just some ideas for continual improvement to really make it great. Thanks.

Again, you need to change your confirmation system. I planned my entire weekend around the fact that I had a confirmed reservation of a truck in Yakima. If you don't have a truck at that location, don't say that you do. I will never use U-Haul again. I am very disappointed and will tell everyone I know about my experience. You added a lot more stress to an already stressful situation.

We were given an old truck with no Cruz control, hand crank windows. All the new trucks they keep for the local runs. One would think that U Haul would want to make sure that their patrons on their long hauls were taken care of, for what we pay. Than we dropped the car trailer off earlier before our final destination and was charged another 110 dollars. That was over 800 miles less. Saw some other people on our trip from Washington state to Florida and they were driving a Budget truck and it was a very fuel saver and comfortable ride at a little less than I paid.

I paid $10 for 1 dozen furniture pads which I was told were put in the back of the truck. Turns out the only pads in the back was the 6 pack which was in the sealed packaging. So I paid $10 for half the number of pads I was supposed to get. Which is fine, mistakes happen. But when I returned the truck and told the guy, he basically ignored my complaint. I didn't see the sense in complaining over $5 so I didn't push it...it was none the less annoying.

The gentlemen that completed my contract was nice, friendly, and had a great sense of urgency. He misinformed me the limits of safemove coverage after I pointed out existing damage to the top portion of the truck, which likely could have been charged back to me if it was noticed at check in. Mr. Peralta, the gentlemen that checked me in did a great job of going over the return process. Took note of the broken windshield wiper, checked lights, and asked me if there was anything they could do to make the truck better for the next customer. Thank you!

My main problem with the pickup was that my reservation was to pickup in Yakima. I was notified the day before pickup that what I needed was not available in Yakima. I had to drive 70 miles to pick up the truck & trailer. This was devastating news since I was on a limited schedule.

The trailer we re need was so dinged up it was difficult to find a spot without damage. I would have appreciated if I was told in advance what Equipment that Would-be needed. The rep asked for the year make and model of the truck that Would-be pulling the trailer but did not inform us that we needed to bring our adaptor, instead when we showed up having left our adaptor at home they keep trying to make us buy theirs. They also informed me that I would be refunded for unused boxes and never did so.

Make sure that the equipment quoted has the features. I asked to make sure there was a ramp and no ramp was on the model chosen. Missing the visor on driver side Mirrors didn't adjust. I Filled the tank before return and still got charged a fee on top to add another $8.50, The staff was to concerned to fill propane tanks than to finish out my return when I brought the vehicle back, I should have made them do it while I waited. This will be the last time I chose U-Haul. I had the truck back in under 4 hours so I know that it was available to rent again.

I had a very rude/customer service skill lacking clerk at check in, I was led to believe I could rent a truck in the town I lived in but right before I was to pick up the truck I had to rent it at a location much farther away than all the locations in the town where I am located, which of course made more money for uhaul thru miles. I didn't find the online rental procedure user friendly at all, I had to make several calls to make sure I actually had a rental reservation, it would be impossible to wait till the day before renting to know all the details of my reservation since reserving online does not insure I have any choice in my rental experience at all.

While it was clean, it was very full, so not so inviting - boxes and stuff in the aisles, it appears they were being staged for customers. It was understaffed at the time I was there, so it took awhile to complete my transaction. They had a wide selection of accessories.

My 26 foot Uhaul truck rental ran poorly. Many times we were very concrned truck that truck performance was so poor that we wouldn't complete our move with this specfic truck. Uhaul should have better performing rentals for most one way moves. This truck should have never een rented for a 2000 mile move. Truck running performance was a "F" rating at best. This truck may have been OK for a local rrental but never a one way rental. Very disapponited in Uhaul. We would never rent a one way truck rental from Uhaul, AGAIN. My original reservation was to pick up a truck in Walla Walla on Sunday, 7/16. I received a call on Saturday, 7/15 when I was out of cell phone range, telling me the location wasn't actually open on Sunday as advertised and I would need to pick up from a different location. It was too late on Saturday when I picked up the message to arrange for another rental in Walla Walla. I ended up having to drive with a friend to Pacso, an hour away, to get the truck on Sunday. It messed up my moving plan and made everything a LOT more difficult. The people in Pasco were great, but the original pick up location was NOT.

Cab of truck was dirty with ashes everywhere and butts and ashes in the with sticky stuff on floor. Manager did call and say they would take car of it and note the gas and that it was dirty so I wouldn't get charged for it. Ended up getting charged for cleaning at the drop off location. Called customer service a few times to get this resolved.

tire blew out 1 hour out of town on a dangerous freeway. Cant believe this was a recap tire. Then from the blow out, the tail pipe got jammed up against the side of the truck and burnt a hole. So lucky not tragic happened during this trip. We are very thankful for that.

When I arrived at the store, I saw that his practice was to put people on hold as a way to blow them off. There were other staff members around who could have helped with phone calls, but clearly that was not a priority. The guy who was there when I dropped off the truck was great.

I reserved a truck more than 2 weeks in advance. The guy ordered me a 17 foot truck, when I called to confirm my reservation they failed to let me know there was no 17 feet trucks available and that they had bumped me down to a 15 foot truck. No warning or time to get a new truck since they called to confirm the call after 1pm and I was scheduled to pick up the truck the next day at 7 am and they had me scheduled for 10 am. They gave me a 50 dollar credit, but in the end the truck was not big enough and I had to leave things behind. I was very unsatisified. I will be needing another uhaul if you would like to help me out that would be awesome

I normally always write a review on my experiences with Uhaul, because they're usually great. Not this time. I showed up around 7am on a Saturday, and from past experience I know that Saturday's are usually pretty busy and to expect a wait. The girl working the counter was very short with me, told me to drive around the back and get hooked up to a trailer. I've never been to this location, so I had no idea what she was talking about. Pointed in one direction and think she meant go the other way...where all the night drop truck returns were blocking. She seemed to not have any sense of urgency when I came back in, and didn't seem to care what the customers had to say about their reservation, that were being helped before me. The general manager was at the counter but didn't acknowledge any customers and kept interrupting the customers being helped by the lazy girl, to complain about inventory and an inspection coming up. That's not customers' problems at 715am, especially when there's 5-6 people waiting to be helped and you're messing around with inventory...that probably should have been done before the front doors were unlocked at 7am. The GM ended up completing my contract, didn't go over anything on it, to include roadside assistance, phone number to reach his store, or my contract number...the simple things. He also was not wearing a name tag, but knew that he was a manager by the green shirt (managers at Uhaul wear green). The trailer I rented had a door that didn't have enough pre load on the spring that keeps it in the up position. I had an incident that left me injured and I plan to open a claim when that department opens Monday. I'm relieved it was me that got hurt and not my toddler that was walking around with me while I was loading. Overall, the manager and the guy that hooked up my trailer were friendly. I don't know that I'd suggest this location to anyone I know though. The trailer got my belongings from point A to B, so I'm thrilled that worked out right.

Where shall we start. I rented a full size pick up truck for 4 hrs quoted 20 or so dollars and .59cents/mile. At pickup time given a vehicle passenger door severely damage. Tiresearch are low pressure as sensor is illuminated, and got with 1/8 tank of gas. Upon return as had it only 2 hrs got charged for 2 days. Thus had to go back to location for paperwork correction and refund as kept being transferred to reservation national call center whom told me had to contact local office

Girl in front was very rude. Went in and she told me there were no trucks but had a trailer. So went borrowed a truck came back. Waited in line again. Told us we had to go pick up the trailer then get in line. So did that. Get up to pay with a gentleman, and I hear this girl who was giving us the run around tell a lady that she had 1 truck and just needed to call and see if this person was going to pick it up. Person didn't the truck and so she gave it to this lady! I had been in there for well over an hour asking for the same thing. To me that is very very rude. I said something to the guy I was working with and he blew it off. I have never had good service with UHaul and hate working with that office. But to tell one person no you can not have a truck but the next one can that is just bad business and discriminating.

You should explain how the wiring installation will be done before doing the job. I have never heard of "internal" wiring and frankly should not have a wiring harness loose in the back of my van except when I'm using it. I should not have to have the wiring harness hanging out of the back door of my van when I'm using it. Wiring should be integrated into the hitch! I'm not very happy or satisfied with the job.

Worst experience I have had with U-Haul. The people are nice, but basically tell you anything to get you to rent a truck. Online I saw may choices for rental, but when I called the places no one had the equipment I wanted except the Pasco center. I told the Pasco person that I had to drive extra milage to and from that place. She suggested I talk to the manager when I came in to see of he could help me. Of course he could not and she knew that, but just wanted to rent me the truck. The person that helped me was the manager. The place was understaffed for being Saturday 9 AM with only 1 person to help the 10 people in line. The manager finally came in and helped, but had a line of people to talk to him also. He ended up helping me, but jumped over to another customer in the middle of my transaction, I left with a feeling of missing something, but I needed to get going with my move. He charged me 80.00 on my 1 day rental since I used a Debit. I had a charge card, but he did not say anything about that. Other than it was 80 becuase it was a debit. The estimated charge was 52.00, the final charge was 58.00. But actually it was 80.00. I called after later on the day that I returned the truck and asked what the final charge was. then had not processed the paperwork yet though. I asked if my Card would be credited the amount, if it was under the 80.00, which I new it was going to be. The person said they credit the card, I said fine I will look for the charge and also the email that he mentioned would come my way. Yes, I received an email on Tuesday, but it was the orginal receipt for 80.00. that I received Tuesday. So I called on Wednesday to see what the actual charge was. I found out the difference was being mailed to me. WTF is that about? I told the person they did not even have my mailing address, so where was it going. Which of course they did not use my mailing address. The used the address that the truck was being used at, for the mailing address. Which will likley take weeks to receive, if I ever do. So the charge is 80.00 actually, not 58.00. So now I have to deal with the manager again to fix it. If that is possible. One person should start and complete a transaction. If using a debit card a full explanation should be given on how the transaction would proceed.. Also a clear explaination of refunds or credits given. I think it is dishonest and deceiving to charge someone an overage amount then the estimated charge on your debit and then instead of crediting it, mail you a check. While in line I heard numerous stories of people waiting for this manager to talk to, all looking for explanations on charges. Hmmmm maybe that should have been my clue to LEAVE and NOT USE UHAUL.

My frustration is not with the 3212 Pasco facility, but with the corporate reservation process. The entire region was locked down the weekend of June 10-11. I needed a 1-way truck on the 11th and was repeatedly told that nothing was available from Pendleton to Tri-cities to Spokane to CDA. Yet Sunday morning there were at least 15 trucks parked at one CDA location. There were plenty of vehicles available all over but 'nothing was available' for a 1-way. Not exactly credible customer service.

Couple reasons why I rated this location that way. 1. There was a moving dolly and a bag of moving blankets in the back of the truck I asked the ladies inside to remove them as I didn't want them and they were taking up space that I needed. They said they came with the truck and can't be removed. I explained I was using the truck local for 8 hrs and when i returned they could put them back. Both ladies were quite rude and dissmisive of my request. So I'm renting a truck and can't use all the space because the dolly and blankets are strapped in with Uhaul seals which if broken they will charge me for using them. Very upsetting. 2. The check engine light was on and the A/C kept shutting off. 3. Used local for 8 hours and it cost me over $300.00 unbelievable.

When I asked if they had another trailer, they said the trailer they gave me would work for my car. I could not pull my car all the way forward because of the stops up front were too tall for my front end to go over them. The dealer I returned the truck to did not check the truck in with me present however, as I was leaving the lot he went out to the truck and checked it in without me present. 20 minutes later I checked my bank account and noticed a $59 charge from that dealer on my account in addition to what I had already paid. He charged me for an extra day! He also charged me for something else but I have not received a receipt.

The entire experience was terrible, from poor customer service to faulty equipment, that had us stranded in the middle of nowhere. If you are gonna have a hitch installed go somewhere else. These people have no business anywhere near electical anything. Oh, and road side assistance doesnt exsist. Don't bother and save your phone battery for a game or something you'll get more out of for your time.

Pasco was difficult to communicate with, and when phone calls to inquire about pick up and drop off did go through and not be re-directed, I was often put on hold for 20-30 mins.

Yet my reference was called and told that we needed to report the truck as stolen. All days after its return. That would be a big procedural thing to work on. We have rented several times & will continue as we are moving furniture from storage to a hotel opening. The hotel was not ready to receive the furniture so it is stored in several storage units. I was surprised & disappointed when we brought the vehicle back to Pasco instead of Richland by accident. We have never returned it to Richland before & accidently returned it to Pasco. There was a fee for retuning it to the wrong place. They tried to wave it knowing we are renting often. They were told no at the dispatch or corporate? I did get the move completed. On the receipt however it is written that the customer receives "lowest price guarantee" even if a combination of rates are needed to provide the customer with the best rate available. I paid a higher rate and spent 3 hours on the phone with no resolve.

The customer service by Christopher at the pasco location was less than stellar. Our hitch installation was to take an hour. it ended up being 3 hours and we were stranded, waiting there until an hour after closing time while he finished as he was helping others and the other staff weren't at the desk. He had a bit of an attitude when we asked how much longer as it was supposed to be an hour. He made excuses on all the other people he had to help. We didn't understand if they were short handed why they gave us such a late installation time of 5 pm . We didn't leave until 8 pm that evening.

This place was a nightmare. I checked in online to make checkin once I got there quick; it was not. I stood around waiting, without any word, for them to bring around the truck for about 30 minutes. Several other people came in, checked in (or even initiated a rental) and had thier trucks (and were long gone) by the time they FINALLY told me that the truck was almost there; 5 or 10 more minutes after that, they finally brought the truck around. So Manny, the manager, told me that he'd at least let me have the moving blanket and dolly rental that I got with it for free (to compensate for the long, long wait); I just got the receipt; nope, fully charged. He claimed that the battery had gone flat and they needed to charge it before bring the truck around. OK, it must be their only 26' truck, right? So, I take off, and got maybe a quarter mile away (or less) just enough to get on the limited access highway, up the start of a bridge, where there is no shoulder, and bam. Truck is full dead, will not restart, nothing. The police came and pushed it over the bridge (with their cruisers) so that I could at least not be blocking traffic and was somewhere I could get out of the truck without near-certain death. Meanwhile I had called uhaul, and Manny was coming. He brought... you guessed it, another (newer, nicer) 26' truck. WTF?!? Why didn't they just give me that one in the first place? Manny is, once again, all apologetic, and says he'll make it right when he checks me out. Fine, I need to get this move done. So, I get the move done; it takes me 2 days instead of one, because a) I was late getting started and b) snow and ice suck, a lot. I return the truck; apparently after hours. I pull up and some dude kinda waves at me and says pull the truck over here, then jumps in a pickup and takes off. I pull the truck over there, then get out and look for whomever is going to check me out, or at least take the key. I wait, and wait; the dude is pulling trailers in and parking them, I wait (did I mention it is single digits F outside? No? It was); finally I figure that maybe I need ot go inside; I glance over at the door and see 7 am to 7 pm repeatedly, so I figured I was good to head in (it was around 6:45 by this time). I walk in and no one is there; lights are on, door is unlocked, but no one is home. I walk out for a minute to put some stuff in my car, then return and wait. Eventually the dude comes in and yells at me: "What are you doing in here!?" like I was robbing the place. I told him I was waiting for someone to come in so I could check out. He said that they were closed, but he took the key, at least, and said to call back during business hours. I'll admit; I was exhausted and forgot to call the next day. The day after I called in and asked for Manny; they said he was out, so I asked if I could leave him a message to call me back. The agreed. He never called back. I did, however, get checked out; I got emailed the receipt. Needless to say no "taking

For one of the biggest rental conpanies out there you would think you guys would provide vehicles with 4WD. And if not at least provide some way of dealing with that issue. Cost me a lot of money to get unstuck 11 times in a 24 hour window. The location itself wasn't so much the issue.

Service at the site was good enough - especially considering I was picking up the trailer in 20-degree weather with snow. Only real issue has nothing to do with the site, but rather the online reservation. I was moving locally in Benton City, but chose this busy Pasco pickup location 30+ minutes away because the online reservation system said that was the closest location with the trailer I needed available during the time I needed it. During the move I visited the local U-Haul agent in Benton City to rent an appliance dolly, and discovered that they had several of the same trailer sitting available on their lot (which the person I talked to confirmed were indeed available). If the reservation system had allowed me to reserve one for pickup there, it would have saved me 2+ hours of driving and fuel for pickup and return.
