We feel the hitch locks are unsafe. Due to weather issues we needed to detach the trailer in our driveway. This physical location was great. There was a lot of equipment (40+), but NO staff. There was only 2 staff members on site! One was at the desk, serving a line of customers waiting and the other in the yard for all the other needs of customers. I had to visit the site 3 times to get a trailer with "fair" tires. Tires were balled and they couldn't/not allowed to change tires on sight. On my second visit, myself and 2 customers waited 15 mins. in the showroom with no staff there! On my third trailer, the tires looked good, but the next day before loading I checked again (900 mile trip). A tire rim was bent with the tire bulging and had to be replaced. I called roadside service instead of going 5 minutes down the road. No one to give service (manager not on site on all visits) and tires were not being changed when needed. Push the problem to the next U-Haul location.David K.

Online check-in should mean the keys are ready for you - I waited 45 minutes in a line out the door. Also, it was not the location I requested and I did not find out until the movers arrived to pick up the truck and it was closed. Then, I had to walk a quarter mile in 90 degree weather to get to the truck I had reserved - it should have been waiting for me up front. When I returned the truck there was no drop box for the keys. I waited on hold for almost an hour the following morning to let someone know where I left them. I was told the drop box was on the other side of the building, and that someone should have showed me where it was the day before. The website did not work to return my truck online because it could not find my location. The store said this is a common problem but did not warn me in advance, so I tried for more than 30 minutes, in the dark in an empty parking lot by myself, before giving up. In total there was not a single thing that went right with this entire experience, costing me time and money.Sarah W.

When I rented the cargo van, the price was shown as $19.95 plus .69/mile. That was the rate calculated on the website, and the rate that I agreed to when I reserved it. When I went to pick it up, the rate was now $79 plus mileage. This was a clear bait-and-switch. I didn't notice when the confirmation came through that it now said $79, so that was my fault for not cancelling. So, I might recommend this site because it's big and there are a lot of trucks, the people were nice, and renting was easy, but I'll tell anyone who asks that they need to be aware of deceptive pricing and to clearly check the confirmation.Patricia P.

Trailer was ok condition, rusted sticky latch. And they could not provide me with 4x8 size requested. They called two days before to switch the trailer size to 5x8 as that is all they had. Second time in a row this has happened. I didn't need larger trailer. The phone person said it would be same price but when I went to the location they upcharged. I had to catch it and tell them it was wrong. Then I had to look for something to tell me the price that was on my reservation. Luckily there was a note confirming what was said in the account. However, why was the price not fixed before I caught the mistake? I already had to take the larger trailer with worse fuel economy, and didn't appreciate trying to be $20 upcharged. Why can't uhaul stock the 4x8 trailers or at least not let you reserve them?!? I have not been able to get one in last 5 years.Trevor T.

I used to work for Uhaul so this will be biased. The basic service was fine. There's too much swiping and card reading and doors for my taste, but I get it. The counter is where the break is and always will be. No one knew how to use the door device, it took some time to figure out if it was the right one and if it even worked or not. Hire people and pay them accordingly so someone can be at the counter at all times and people can be out in the lot at the same time helping people. You guys never paid people for the amount of work you dump on them, and let them unionize if they want to Joe. I was offered a job if I wanted it, but really would not want to work for such a megalomaniacal greedy behemoth where the shareholders are more important than the workers. Sadly it is how all future corporations will be. Tell Bezos the same thing at your next rich guy meeting. Bethany I was there last night at closing. The poor woman who helped me either needs a lot of training or a new career. It took like 45 mins to rent the unit. That was insane. Then she didn’t tell me that ther was no elevator, didn’t tell me about the 2 levels of the price difference or there was apparently a free lock inside the unit after I bought one. Finding the zip tie on the lock was another unpleasant surprise since I flew in that morning and can’t carry a pocket knife. Luckily I had a nail clipper in my backpack. The alarm siren went off several time. Never did figure out what to do with the card key Since I didn’t need it to get in. Overall if was a horrible experience. The only good thing was you were open till 7. It is really wonderful in today's climate to deal with professional, knowledgeable and pleasant staff at a well-run company. The staff was always courteous and I never waited longer than 2-3 minutes if that for assistance. My storage unit was excellent the whole time I had my valuables in storage...no leaks, no wet floors, all inside, climate controlled.
