I will never rent from uhaul again. The customer service is so bad I would never recommend them to anyone. Your equipment is fine but employees on premises and on the phone are terrible and would rather make a sale and then charge you in the end and not care if you rent from them again

I’ve spoke to so many people regarding my Ubox and no one can help me. I picked my box up 5/11. My Ubox did not ship until 5/22 only after I called every day to change my reservation that no one changed. I wanted to open an action file that couldn’t be opened until AFTER my Ubox had been delivered but I can’t make a complaint about it taking 2 weeks to even leave the original location because now it’s been delivered by the guaranteed date (the date I only have because I called for a week straight for them to even give me the date.

Personnel at this location barely spoke to me. After we pulled in she grabbed the keys and moved the truck without so much as a single word. She then asked for our contract, mumbled a few words I didn’t understand, went back to the truck leaving us standing in the rain not knowing if we were finished or not. We stood there waiting until she returned. She handed us the contract and mumbled a couple words I didn’t understand. I said, “Is that all? Are we finished?” She nodded and went back inside. It was a strange and uncomfortable situation.

I am sending this in hopes that the problem will be solved. I rented a u-haul trailer for 05.30.19-06.02.19 & returned the trailer today, a day early. Picking up the trailer I dealt with a woman named Samantha I believe. She was so RUDE. NOT FRIENDLY. I brushed it off. But today returning the trailer, we saw she was outside already dealing with the other U-Haul returns, as she saw us pulling up she made the rudest & most disrespectful face ever. Then hurried & rushed us to park & drop the trailer off. I’m 8 months pregnant, so as I went to tell her thank you & goodbye she just waved no at me & gave me a mean look. I’ve never felt so humiliated & disrespected from a business here ever! This was my first time dealing with U-Haul, & I cant say I’ll use the company again. I’m so hurt, & we did not feel welcomed at all. Paying $122 for 3 days & returning it a day early, I’d think she would show some respect & kindness. But NO!

When we dropped off our rental, no one was in the office and there was a line of 5-6 people. The site was extremely understaffed and also rude. When the worker came in, he/she rudely announced to everyone that he has no available rentals and that we should just "leave right now." One gentleman then said he was there for propane and the worker said that "he's just gonna have to wait." The gentleman ended up leaving empty-handed. When we turned in our key, we let the worker know that the rental was infested with roaches that were now in my personal belongings. He/she then told us there was nothing he/she could do about it. Hands down the worst moving experience I've ever had.

Rental location changed by Uhaul 24 hrs before pick-up. The assumption that EVERYONE has a smartphone is ridiculous since, had I not sent the info to my wife's phone, I would NEVER have known about the change. When arriving at the location on the OPPOSITE SIDE OF TOWN they had no clue I was coming and the vehicle was not prepped and ready to go; they had to go pull from "display". The employee mumbled such that I had to ask him (her? could not tell) to repeat the question three times...for every question. No smile, no offer of assistance, walk towards truck without telling me not to follow, walk-around truck saying "there no issues, just drive off".

I am extraordinarily happy that the goods got to their destination on time and in good shape. However, the fact that the uhaul representative was not knowledgeable about the service I wanted or about the the web site did not give me much confidence. He was very friendly and cheerful which helped a lot. The day before the move he was able to assure me that the ubox was on site and ready for the moving helpers to pick up. That was good, but obviously he had never had to handle a situation in which the customer wished to have moving helpers load the ubox and send the ubox to another person as far away as Oregon. Uhaul obviously doesn't do this kind of thing very often, so it left me feeling very nervous about the whole process. Apparently the soft ware uhaul uses doesn't have categories for this kind of service. So they can't input into the computer that the customer isn't the one who will be receiving the ubox. Nor can it put into the computer which phone number needs to be used at the destination. I talked with many uhaul representatives on the phone. They were mostly friendly and sounded helpful. But by the time the ubox finally got to the house where it was supposed to be, I was really tired of hearing the representatives say they would put a note with the reservation and that should clear up all confusion. Those notes were apparently never read by the people who needed to see them. So the wrong names were put on papers and the wrong phone #s were used. Also, for some reason the moving helpers cancelled my work order about 3 days out from the moving day when I needed them. Uhaul sent me an email about the cancellation. Thankfully the company which was supposed to help me load the ubox sent me their own notice, too, by text message, telling me that my request for their services had been cancelled. I immediately texted them back: NO, DON'T cancel. So I had to call uhaul and make another reservation for the moving helpers. Somehow the representative on the phone gave me the incorrect payment code, so I had to make several more phone calls to get that cleared up. The moving helpers had not been informed by uhaul that they had to pick up the ubox and bring it to my house. They spent an extra hour and a half driving the 5 miles back to the local uhaul center, standing in a long line to get service, and driving back to my house. That made them late to the next job and made a one hour job take more than twice as long. Then the receipt came with a name on it that wasn't mine because the local uhaul representative had entered the moving helper's name and not mine. Sure, the moving helper returned the trailer, but I was the one paying for the rental of the trailer. That was strange. So I think if you want to do this sort of shipping from one place to another, with moving helpers, and from one person to another, it is extraordinarily important to call the day before to confirm that everything is ready. The U-Box I rented had roaches living within it, without knowing I put all of my things into the U-Box and when I got it back my boxes had been infested with the roaches also. Very disappointed.
