Manager, Alyssa?, has a problem wearing a mask because "I have asthma". In a retirement community, with covid killing elderly at high rates, I think she should not be in the building if she can't wear a mask. I booked a 15-foot truck through one of your on-line schedulers on December 18th for pick up on December 29th at the Lakeside, Arizona facility. I was assured by your scheduler that my requested truck was available for that date. On Sunday December 27, I drove down to that facility to confirm everything would be ready for me. The agent there informed my they had no such truck available nor was there anything in their computer showing my reservation #85394392. I asked them what I should do and they said to contact the Corporate schedulers. When I contacted the Corporate scheduler I was informed that the nearest truck was located in Springerville Arizona which is about 55 miles away. He said they would allow me an extra day and an extra 100 miles at no charge. I had no choice but to agree since I had to move my belongings out of the house we had just sold. I received an email with a link that stated the extra 100 miles and the 3 days plus 23 hours. Upon opening that email again on January 2nd, I found that the link had expired and was no longer available to view. When I went to turn the truck in on January 2nd in Sun Lakes, AZ, I was informed by the local agent that there were no notes in the system about the extra day that was offered at no charge. I ended up paying an additional $56.70 in order to settle up with them. They informed me I would have to take up my complaint about the extra charges with Corporate. Having to drive to Springerville was the first strike against U-Haul's customer service. It cost me extra time and money for gas for both my personal vehicle and your truck. In addition it put me behind schedule moving out of the house we sold. I do, however, want to be very clear that the agents at both the Springerville and Sun Lakes U-Haul locations did everything they could to accommodate my needs, and I have no complaints with them. On the other hand, your Corporate Schedulers are a tremendous disappointment. They either are not trained properly or they are incompetent. Their actions represent unprofessional and untrustworthy customer service for U-Haul. I will never again use one of your on-line schedulers to book a truck if the need should arise. What action is U -Haul going to take to prevent future screw-ups such as this? I await your reply.John K.

The storage lot is not well maintained because the tree above my space is never trimmed or cleaned up. The leaf debris is messy & dirty on the camper. The gate code I was assigned didn’t work at first which means I had to go back to the office. The staff said it was a glitch in the system and went out to let me in but 4 months later when I went to get my belongings from storage the code worked.
