When we arrived to pick up the vehicle there was some confusion over the reservation. When asked for the phone number to locate the reservation our driver opened his phone to look it up and the employee at the counter rudely stated "I'm asking you a question, put your phone away" when the driver confirmed he was looking up the phone number the employee did not apologize or change their tone. Additionally we were given a truck that was on empty with the instruction "you better head right to a gas station on your wont make it far at all, there's no gas in it." We rent trucks frequently in the summer to move or set pieces and props for shows, we will never use this location again and would strongly advise any other theatre company to stay away from the Trotwood location. The service and the equipment were both unacceptable.Ranger P.

My negative experience has nothing to do with the Trotwood location. The guy who helped me was actually very nice and got me laughing after being stressed out from my original reservation never being handled and never being notified that there was no truck for me on Friday 7/23/21. I had to drive 39 minutes out of the way Saturday afternoon and ended up with the biggest truck that was falling apart, then in order to even get that truck I had to do a round-trip and waste $140 in gas driving it to my destination and then drive it back empty. Then I was told that since it was uhauls fault that I didn't have to worry about mileage since I had to drive it back. So I was charged another $13-$14 for overage. The fact that I had to spend $140 in gas because they never scheduled my smaller truck is ridiculous. It was only a 2 hour 45 min drive one way. Plus 40 minutes to pick up the truck to drove 40 minutes back to just pack it before we could head to Toledo Ohio/Temperance, Michigan. I have moved more than 20 times so far in my life and have always used Uhaul. I can't believe no one called to inform us there was no truck for us ahead of time so we could try to figure something out.James E.

I payed for my storage by automatic payment 1 week before my move to my new house. When I requested a credit back they said no. I also rented a uhaul so I can clear my storage locker, I was given a broken vehicle. If "I was not persuaded to buy the 14 dollar vehicle coverage I would have had to pay for someone else damages on the vehicle. With my own eyes I saw uhaul charge a lady two times for storage yesterday. It is not right to steal and uhaul stole, that's why I will not recommend this to anyone.ARJUN A. | Overall Experience

Had a terrible experience during my check in process. The employee who was at the location ignored me purposely and was extremely rude. I attempted to ask him questions that would assist me with my SELF check in and he was nasty, short and refused to give me his name. the confirmation process to understand where we were to pick up our truck became an absolute disaster. Pulling a 5x8 trailer with Hyundai Tuscan. Trailer pulled like it was nothing once it was loaded. Recommend having no drop on your hitch as mine sat about 2 inches drop. Fuel mpg was cut in 1/2 and average 18 mpg for the 826 mile drive.Bart M.

The whole experience was not great. The Trotwood location was helpful, to an extent. I was supposed to pick up my truck at the Covington, Ohio location. The location was closed when we got there. We only got lucky in that a worker had stopped in to give another customer something. They said UHaul should have contacted me the day before because this location doesn't have trucks like I had reserved. They said that UHaul does this all the time - the let you reserve whatever wherever and scramble to find something for you. I then had to go to the Trotwood location to pick up the truck, over 30 minutes away (while I had people waiting at my house to move things). I get there and go through the app. I waiting for 45 minutes for the app's â€œapprovalâ€ so we could leave with the truck. Went in and the lady finally overrode the app so we could be on our way. So very disappointed in UHaul. Will go darn near anywhere instead of using them again.Ronald M.

Samantha Brackman called my wife and told her she was calling the cops if the trailer wasn't there immediately. The location had rented the trailer out two days before it was due back. The lady and gentleman that helped when we dropped the trailer off was very friendly and apologetic for the actions of Samantha. The facility was clean. I felt safe and received excellent customer service care. My vehicle was clean. The procedure for renting and pricing were explained explicitly. Even though it was a new employee, the manager assistant and explained things to his employee with respect and kindness. It's great that the employees are receiving excellent training. My name had been entered into system incorrectly. Everytime I went in to pay it took 15 to 20 min just to find my account. Twice I was double charged a late fee and was told sorry that's just how the system calculates. I feel that this was the poorest choice I could have made for storage. I will never use this specific uhaul location ever again. I am disgusted with how they handled my situation knowing they were in the wrong. I spoke with over 10 people in regards to my situation and they still railroaded me with fees that weren’t valid because they can do what they choose. I will continue to share my experience with anyone who asks just to make sure they steer clear of this facility and the crappy operating system. Very clean facilities. The only complaint is the lack of lighting and motion sensors in our area. The nearest sensor was not pointed out by staff upon the initial inspection of our unit but we figured it out later. I would have assumed motion sensors would be on each main aisle to turn on lights as you walk towards back of the facility. I had an awesome experience at your newer facility in Trotwood. I am impressed by the pricing, the layout and the innovative pickup drop off convenience of the truck and easy storage options. I didn’t have any issues until I passed the office hours. Around 7:05 my boyfriend tried to ask about the 24/7 service if it applied for the return of the truck. They completely ignored him while he stood at the entrance waving at the 3 employees inside. He asked me to give a shot as he returned to help us unloading the truck inside the drop off interior area. I then went and stood waving for 5 minutes. I had the lady give me the wait signal with one finger. Another gentle looked at me and said something to the gentleman who helped me with setting up my storage (after 6pm). The gentle who helped me with my storage looked me dead in my face twice and later walked around the counter and turned his back on purpose. It’s understood that the office hours were over. But I had a very simple question. Does U-Haul 24/7 option apply to my purchase. I called customer service and held for over10 minutes just to ask a simple question. I pray I have no other issues with my belongings being in their care. In the past, my experiences with U-Haul were positive. Unfortunately, this will be the last contract I will have with U-Haul. The customer service was the worst I have every experience ANYWHERE. The clerk was VERY disrespectful! And it appears no one is willing to do anything about it. Carts provided are too few and too small - requires many trips to unload. Only one flat cart and holds only 4 large U-Haul boxes. Would had been worse had we not brought two of our own moving dollies.
