The vehicle I was given had a very bad stench inside the truck as if someone had used it as a bathroom. Even with the windows down driving the truck the smell was still awful. Spraying aerosol lysol inside helped a little but not by much. Other than that the truck served my needs in a last minute move that came up.Talvin J.

1 complaint: When I got in the truck and started it, it had only 47 miles to empty?? I have never rented a U-Haul truck that was on empty upon pickup. My first stop had to be at a gas station. That was not in my plans that morning!! What ever happened to the tank being full, and you need to return it full??Patrick R.

When you drop off the truck I would advise anyone to make sure you go inside to let them know you've dropped it off if you don't whoever is cleaning the truck can take their time and it will seem like you are a day late that's what happened to me and $69 of my money was taken and the truck was back on time the person told me don't worry I'll take the key and it's okay but when they're late on putting in the information in their tablet you will get charged and unfortunately they took my $69 unjustlyDEBORAH K.

Explain to customers especially customers who have not rented and no knowledge of how uhaul works far as the mileage, refueling the gas, returning the truck the price they estimate you but then turns out you paying them way more money or you put a deposit down and they just keep all your money with out any explanation. The customer service is not professional and they need to be retrained they don't work together on the knowledge of uhaul to better help customers understand how uhaul works. I'm not happy with the two employees that was assisting me because of the lack of knowledge. Uhaul can be a great place when training is more informed with the employees and knowledgeable of the rules.TIFFANY G.

Before I start, let me clarify that Erika was great. It is not her fault that the site was understaffed and poorly managed. I overheard her say that it was supposed to be her day off and she came in voluntarily. What I am irritated by is that I had to wait in line for over an hour to pick up my rental vehicle. The skip the counter process was not as simple and intuitive as I thought it should be. I had to go back in to get a copy of the rental contract which stated the mileage and the gas in the vehicle. I don't think I ever received that in an email. Which took extra time.david B.
When I went to pick up an auto transport, unit # AT6692R, the fold down fender was bent. The agent tried to kick it into place and that's when I told him I wanted another one. He then issued me another auto transport that was in good condition. I asked him if the trailer numbers were going to be changed when I get to the drop off location and he told me it would be handled. He then hooked the trailer to my truck and I left the yard. Upon arrival at the location where I was picking up the car that I was hauling, I noticed that the agent had not tightened down the trailer to my hitch. AT ALL! I tightened it down and drove to my drop off point successfully. This is poor customer service as well as poor service for U-Haul in general!ROBERT B.

I was traveling from Charlotte, NC to Houston Texas with a trailer. Along my trip I was being flagged down my other drivers trying to tell me something about the trailer. To find out the chains had come off and they were sparking as they hit the ground and was smoking bad. This location didn't put the chains on correctly. This delayed my trip. Upon arrival for my 4:30 pickup (which I had confirmation for and was supposed to be contactless, but the app then requested I speak inside to a representative) I was greeted by a 5 minute wait inside alone while the customer service agent finished up their personal phone call outside. Once the employee was gracious enough to put their call on hold and check mr in for a rental. I was informed â€œwe ain't got none of thoseâ€ to the cargo van I had requested and confirmed hours earlier. To which, the employee then stated â€œwe'll put you in somethingâ€ no problem, I'm understanding and I only needed to make one trip to the storage unit, a total of about 4 miles. The agent then resumes her personal call and states: â€œI'll finish with you after I go to the bathroomâ€. Again, no problem, I feel I'm being reasonable. But then the employee takes 10 minutes and finally graces me back with their presence (all while continuing this personal call, which by all means didn't sound to consist of more than general chit chat with a friend). Mind you, it is by now 40 minutes after my scheduled pickup time, and I had a pretty tight schedule to keep in my day/evening. I was finally sent on my way outside to acquire a U-Haul box truck that was filthy and reeked of smoke and sweat, but was â€œsanitizedâ€ in front of me. Whatever, I'm here now and might as well finish the task at hand, I'm to far now. So I then take the unit, complete the hour task I needed to be done and returned the vehicle to the location with little fanfare. Task done. All in all, the location is filthy and over run with homeless who pester for money while having the most â€œI don't give a sh*tâ€ staff ever to exist.AARON S.
I don't write reviews usually, but this interaction was absolutely ridiculous so I'm gonna share. I showed up at the location at 10:45, 15 minutes before my reservation. The line on this Saturday morning was out the door. Apparently from what i could hear between the employees yelling at one another is that someone took a 10' truck and didn't return it? I was there for a 10' truck, and so were 3 others in line, i knew this from the associate asking over everyone "Who's here for a pickup? and what are you getting". When everyone said they wanted a 10' truck, the associate shook their head and looked back at the computer. I was called up, long story short, i was given a 15' truck at a discounted rate. No other information was given to me, they didn't tell me i was getting a 15' truck, they didn't say where it was in the lot, they said "here's the key, go find it in the back it has a number up top." Note there was nothing said about check in or anything about receiving, i just uploaded a photo of my license, that is it. Then i left. On my invoice I had a dolly, which they said "there's one sitting in the road right there, you can get that one." I had no clue where "the road right there was" so I never got it. I also ordered pads, those weren't in the truck, because as soon as i got the key - the associate was onto the next person. I took a photo of the dash that had how much gas / mileage was on it at 11:30am before I left. I called at 3:30 that day and asked to extend my reservation, that was simple, that was the easiest part. The next day when I returned the truck, I walked in and the place was dead empty, when i got here, someone said "someone will be with you soon" i waited like 10-15 minutes, when someone came to the counter, a person walked up and said "can i get a truck" - there were hand written signs everywhere that said "No walk-in's on the weekend." I slid the key over to the clerk, she said "we will send you a receipt in the email." I proceeded to say, this piece of paper says the gas tank was full, but when i left the lot (i have a picture from 11:30 when i left) the gas tank was half full. I dont want to pay for the gas I didn't use, also I didn't get a dolly, or the pads that I originally had. i'd like to not have to pay for those ither." They said "There's nothing i can do about the gas." i said "I have picture evidence that it's different." I asked, how much is the gas, they said something along the lines of 4.30 a gallon or whatever, I said, can i just take the truck back and go full it up for 2.70 accorss the street? She slid they key back to me. (The truck was blocked in by others drop off so I couldn't move it now.) - She stared at me blankly as i said, "Im not trying to be difficult i'm just tyring to not pay for stuff i didn't use. - I said, can you just give me af inal invoice of how much evreything will be - she said "take the key outside and the gentlemen there can help you." When i took they key outside, the "gentlemen" said can i help you ( dude didn't look like he worked there.) I said i guess im giving this key to someone to give me an invoice?" he said oh I'll take it im in a hurry we will email you the receipt. I just gave him the key and said blankly "i'm probably just going to call coporate on this one, because this is ridiculous" he raised his voice and said "Woah! do you have a problem" - and i genuinely thought that he wanted to help me, I said "yeah i do" and he yelled louder - "No i mean do you have a problem with me? because I didn't do anything." - i said trying to calm him down because the dude was ready to scrap, I just said "no not you, i gotta go." This was, in my opinion, a terrible experience from start to finish. I reserved a truck well in advance to pick up at 8 a.m. on a Sunday at a location reasonably close to my house. I even called customer service to confirm the reservation as well as the logistics and the timing. On Saturday, I received an email saying that my pick-up location was not at the one closest to my house, but instead was at a different location on the other side of the city. On Sunday, the day I was supposed to pick up the truck, I arrived at the designated location at 8 a.m. expecting the keys to be in the lock-box, but the keys were not in the lock-box. (Another family that was supposed to pick up a truck that morning at 6:30 had the same problem and was there waiting when I arrived.) I called customer service and, after being on hold for several minutes, I was told to wait until the Uhaul store opened at 9 a.m. An employee of the store did not arrive to open the store until 9:22. By this point there was a fairly long line of people outside waiting to get in. Once I got inside and talked to the employee who opened the store, she said that Uhaul had not assigned me a pick-up location for the truck -- even though I had received an email designating that location as the pick-up location. I asked why this had happened, and she said, "I don't know why they do that. It happens all the time." She finally had to cancel my original reservation and make another reservation for me. It was close to 10 a.m. before I was handed the keys to the truck. (I had movers scheduled to appear on both ends of the move who I now had to call and reschedule.) When I went outside the Uhaul store to retrieve the truck, it was parked between two other 20-foot trucks in such a way that it was impossible to get out. Another gentleman trying to retrieve his rental truck had the same problem. We therefore had to locate another Uhaul employee who eventually (and seemingly with great reluctance) moved one of the trucks and made it possible for us to get out. It was an extraordinarily inefficient and disappointing process.PHILLIP L.

There was some confusion when I returned the vehicle on how to return it. When I tried to pick up using the "virtual" app it would not work so I went inside and the representative helped. When I returned it the person outside collecting the vehicle said " leave the keys you are good" but that was not the case and I should have closed out in the app. Part my fault, part theirs.
