The steering on the truck was very very sloppy which made it difficult to drive. Also too much air freshener was used in the truck cab and it was difficult to breathe. Also what the girl quoted me wasn't the amount. I was told 39.95 plus $10 for the cart. Nothing about mileage was discussed. Ended up $102!!!

There was a large snowfall the night prior so there were difficulties getting the truck to the location on time. The crewmember was very helpful and understanding of the process and checked me in almost immediately.

Couldn't get moved because it snowed and transmission was acting up in the U-Haul the lock didn't work so we couldn't keep anything in it smelled horrible dolly wasn't even attached to the truck told the guy there he said I believe it and gave us $10 off lol we didn't even get to use it and not by fault of ours!!

Location was only a problem due to the laziness of the company to move the equipment from my requested pick up location to this location an additional 16 miles away from my preferred and requested location. Due to the unforeseen change AND lack of communication I almost missed other appointments I had scheduled. I was given a $50 discount for the issue. Seems small that my time was not valued more than that. The other unforeseen problem is that the dealer I had chosen also loses out on commission since I was sent to a much larger dealer. Again the small business gets the shaft.

The truck was reserved but not ready when I arrived. The interior hadn't been cleaned or wiped down in some time. The seat belt alarm kept going off even though the belt was on. There was no windshield washer fluid.

Only chose location because of one month free advertisement. Once there they said they did not run that promotion. Even though it was advertised on van. Probably won’t use uhaul again because of this will just use more convenient storage

Reservations made for a frig dolly never got and never asked if we needed boxes just very rude! Then got there after hours and had to post pics late at night on a bad side of town! What happens if we didn't have a phone! This electronic stuff sucks!

Customer service was terrible, the guy that waited on us was horribly rude and not helpful with anything even when we needed to know specific instructions for drop of after close so that we don't get charged extra. Also paid for the padding that came with truck but when we went use it there was no padding included but yet we still had to pay for it. Just horrible service.

Truck had lots of problems!! Plug in for phone literally came out with the wires!! Driver side seatbelt had problems reeling back in which would allow it to get jammed in door. Tow haul would automatically come on and it took awhile to find out how to turn off. I tried calling location although they wouldn't answer phone. Backdoor was extremely hard to pull down and latch kept getting wedged. Truck needs maintenance! I reserved a 10 foot truck night before and it was canceled. Had to get 25 foot truck!! Couldn't check truck back in on app because it never showed me having a truck in first place. Had to call several times to try and make sure truck was checked in as being returned. Took 2 days to and many phone calls to get an email with info and receipt. Location is in a not so safe neighborhood and when ur trying to get an app to work it's very concerning. I called after hours number and they seen same thing I did. System glitch and I still had to call the location several times with no response. Moving is stressful enough!! Don't need all this hassle. If I ever find myself in this situation again, I will be going someplace else

No one called me when they were supposed too,i had to call them. Truck was dirty,late getting the truck and i was charged an extra day for truck plus insurance which was not explained to me. When i received the bill i called with these complaints and still no one has called me back or e-mailed me. It's bad enough we had to rent from you to clear out our daughters house because she suddenly passed away and we had just laid this child to rest now we're dealing with all this. I believe we should be reimbursed for the extra day and the extra insurance at the very least , and if i had the truck only 6 or 7 hours but charged for a day shouldn't i have had at least till midnight to return. That's the impression I had.

I was charged an after hours service fee of $20.00 that was not mentioned to me when I said that I would return the truck at 6:30pm. As you can see by your cameras, I did return it at promptly 6:30pm. Had I been informed that there would be an after hour fee of $20.00 I would have had the truck back before then. Please return my $20.00 as I was not made aware of that fee. Before I would recommend this location, I would say to be aware of hidden fees.

Back of the truck had the last persons clothing, paper, and plastic in the back. The truck also drove rough like it needed some work done. First time that this happened and I rent uhauals more than most.

I rented the cargo van and had to take it home from the U-Haul lot and clean the inside of the windshield so that I could see while driving. The staff at the Springfield location was friendly and helpful but the interior cleaning was a step that I hadn't planned on needing to do.

Lousy service. Poor attitudes, no ownership of customer's experience or even a concern. Described issue i had to guy checking me in. He pretty much said, sorry about your luck. Fuel saver 15 ft trucks should get more than 5 miles per gallon. My 29.95 a day experience, after driving just over 100 miles.....then having to put 20 gallons of gas to return full turned in to a $170 expense, including being raped for milage. Then, when the truck was reserved on Saturday but not picked up till Sunday morning, she was going to charge 99 cents a mile till i convinced her it was a Sunday rental and she changed it to 79 cents. Still ridiculous and very stupid that a customer has to explain uhaul's policies to a uhaul employee. 4 Rentsls in last 14 months. Will go somewhere else next time. I could have rented an Amish horse and buggy for less and had better service.

My only compliant is not with the local location or the customer service representatives. It has to do with the fact that most times when you call the local location the phone gets forwarded to your help center and the wait time is horrible and unacceptable. I called multiple times and the shortest hold time was 20 minutes and I was on hold for 45 minutes when I had an issue with the truck on moving day. Every customer service I spoke with were very professional and helpful. A second issue was trying to check in the by my phone. It kept saying it couldn't find my location and I had everything on my phone set correctly.

Generally I would recommend this location to other people and have had good experiences with this Uhaul location in the past which is why this poor experience is unusual. I had already reserved the truck ahead time, and in past experiences when I go to pick up the trucks I have a very fast turn around. This time however, it took a half an hour to from when I arrived at the Uhaul center location and began my "check out" until I left with the rental truck. The store associate was very slow, didn't seem to understand what he was doing, was distracted the entire time he was checking me out, kept messing up and erasing my information in the system and would have to reenter my information. It was very frustrating, and it made me late for my appointment. Then when I got into my rental truck I found it filthy! It had dirt, crumbs and sticky stuff everywhere. I then had to spend time to clean the truck and all touch surfaces myself before I felt comfortable. This is especially uncomfortable during this time with Covid. The truck cabin also had a heavy smell of cigarette smoke. Once I returned the rental vehicle no one came outside once I checked in so I had to go inside to hunt someone down. Overall, a pretty poor experience. Not a typical experience. I hope this doesn't continue to be the experience for this location.

Not sure if the mobile pick up feature was not available due to COVID-19 or what, but for some reason I was not able to pick up my truck at the time I requested. I feel there should have been some kind of notification during or even after the reservation to let me know I would have to wait until the store actually opened

This rental did not go as smoothly as my last. I did it online with my phone. The requested pads were not on the truck. The truck shown in the pictures for confirmation had the correct number and license plate, but appeared to be a different vehicle, with different side murals and decals on the rear. When complete, I still had to go inside the store and wait in line to get the key, which was not in a box. The sales associate was helpful and friendly, though.

Had no problem with the drop location. Although my whole experience would stop me from renting from U-Haul in the future. Giving me a rental with an empty fuel tank was moronic! Penske had a full tank of fuel....

The storage unit was very dirty and the doors aren't very sturdy. When we were moving out of the unit on Sunday, August 16, 2020, there was a woman and her 2 boys making a huge scene the whole time we were there. The boys were literally fist fighting in the hallway and parking lot while their mother screamed and cursed at them constantly. It was very disturbing and uncomfortable. When my husband told the attendant about it he said "Yeah, they do that all the time. I probably should've called the police or something." There are cameras all over the place so we knew the people in the office could see what was going on and they couldn't have missed the screaming. We were afraid they'd turn on us if we asked them to stop or got involved. It was not a good situation or pleasant experience what so ever.
