I waited 10 minutes till someone wanted to come in and actually help me check out. I walked in, no one was there. I stepped out and saw a person washing trucks. He asks "How can I help?" I respond, "Here to pick up my reserved truck." He then says, "Wait inside"... he goes back to washing trucks. Was ridiculous is he sat there and washed two trucks before a different person came in and started helping. I tell the other employee of the situation and his response his "he'll get in trouble for that"...when did washing a truck mean more than getting a customer helped? Sad part is that I rented 3 trucks prior to this just a week prior and didn't have that big of a issue other than I was over charged for my furniture dolly.

I had the worst U-Haul experience. Normally this company is so wonderful to work with and I've always been so happy to take my business here but after this time I'm not sure I will again. I feel as if the employee took advantage of us when their location made a mistake in the first place. I feel like I'm owed compensation because I'm on a tight moving budget and this experience has caused me and my family such financial strain and constant stress days later still.

Awful pickup experience Reserved online on Thursday . Received standard email confirmation. It instructed I would receive a follow up contact, but I never did. Showed up at the selected location, confirmed in the email at the requested time (8:00am). When I went to sign in, it instructed me I was at the wrong location. I never received notification of the change via email OR phone. We drive the extra 15 minutes to the new pickup location (increasing my mileage and cutting down on my reserved time). When we arrived, I again attempted the sign in/mobile pick up procedure. At that time I was informed that there was not equipment reserved for my order. I called the number given for assistance and was aburptly told that "someone should be on site to take care of it". After my husband spent 15 minutes on hold with the customer service line, we gave up, got out of the car and hunted around the Closed location for an employee. When asked about the mix up and change in location we were told he didnt know anything about it. When we inquired further as to why we didn't have any equipment assigned to our reservation after 3 days, he told us we could wait until 9am (an hour after the requested pickup time) and they would assign it. So, against our better judgement, we waited the 30 minutes for them to open so that we could pickup our truck. The gentleman who ended up facilitating the pickup was very kind and helpful, which was the only positive to the experience. The online reservervation process is unreliable and has the "self check in" exhibits major process issues. IF we ever use UHAUL again (which were really not inclined to after this experience) I would go out of my way to NOT use any of the online features.

the vehicle was filled with tobacco smoke smell. the wiper blades were in bad bad need of replacing. waited 10 minutes before someone came to check me in. The gentleman that checked me in messed my closing paperwork up then questioned me why I did not catch the error before he printed the ticket. definitely needed more training. I had very good results with previous rentals from this location.

made reservation in advance trailer way in back lot but same type in front they did not give me spring on liftgate ineffective, gate almost impossible to lift AS ALWASY ONE PERSON AT 8AM ON COUNTER with advance reservation and the info to 'cut your time in half' per the website I was in the store one hour to get a 5x9 trailer.

No air conditioning for 6 hr trip was miserable experience. Seats were broken down to metal it was lucky we have some pillows we could sit on. On return the facility accepting said, awh that's too bad .... wow not a word of apology or what can I haul do to make us a company you would to rent for the future. By the way my brother rented a Penesky truck same day in McKinney his truck had good seats and air conditioning. No one in Texas would ever rent a truck in Texas w/o Air Conditioning. Extremely Grueling move thanks to the UHaul truck.

The guy who greeted us, well great is a strong word because he barely acknowledged my existence. He actually turned his back to me after nodding his head. He wad rude, it was hard for us to know if we were even finished because he hardly spoke to us.

Everyone was helpful and the process was quick and had no issue. My only concern is that when you rent, they want you to leave something of value behind like a credit card because they say there rentals get stolen. But if I was moving to another location, don't see how I can get my stuff back. Not every rental is returned to the location it was picked up from. Also, in cases like mine, where I used my bankcard to purchase the rental, didn't have any credit cards, so I wouldn't have been able to rent if I didn't have someone with me who did. I understand if purchase was done with cash, but I was using my Visa Bank card, so what's the point of using it to rent if you still going to want another item from me and they need to stipulate that somewhere if this is a requirement. I wouldn't recommend this location based on this detail.

The size truck we reserved days in advance was not available when we went to pick it up. We were provided with a larger truck for the same price but that was harder to drive and consumed more gas. The truck was given to us with almost a full tank of gas and was returned with the same amount but we were charged $6+ fuel charge. Overall not very happy with the whole rental experience and will not be using this branch in the future.

I booked online and presented my confirmation number. The guy in the store could not find it. The computer seemed to be very slow. It took forever to process. Perhaps some computer updates need to be done. Then I rented for 24 hours and they wanted the truck back 2 hours early because someone else needed it. The inventory must be low and it was only the 25th of the month with 6 days to go before a lot of people move out of their apartments.

despite confirming my trailer on 18.Aug by phone call to the facility, when I showed up to pick up on Sat, 19.Aug at 8.30 AM my reserved 6 x 12 trailer had been given to another customer. The "reserve" trailer had a burned out turn signal. Matthew, the manager, finally agreed to give me another previously reserved trailer, but delayed my moving plans for more than a hour. This a very good facility and well managed, but on this day, the lack of working equipment was frustrating. I have long term storage locker at this facility as well.

Send out the pick up location BEFORE the reservation time. My pickup location was changed from my preferred location; which was 20 miles away because no one had assigned a location by the time my reservation was.

I dropped the trailer off about 10 minutes before it was due. And at first I was pleased, the guys came out to help me disconnect reasonably quickly. He was nice, shook my hand and overall made happier than the last place. Told me he would email me a receipt and I was good to go. So I left. About 4 hours later I get a phone call from the U-Haul location where I dropped it off.. They want to know when I'm returning the trailer. I explain to him that I dropped it off earlier. I was probably a bit rude to the guy, but really only because this location seemed to suddenly join the first one in it's incompetence. While not as bad as the first, my short time dealing with this location combined with the first one, gives me the general idea the U-Haul does not have it's stuff together.

I do not agree with storage units not being prorated. I paid my monthly storage unit on time even two days before the due date. However, the unit was not needed for the full month. I moved out of it on 08/12/2017 yet it is paid up until 08/24th. I asked for a refund for the remaining days yet I was told that it was not an option by the desk person but it is paid by a flat fee monthly. But I had already called the UHaul customer service number and was told that I could workout a prorated fee but it had to he done at the location not over the phone which I drove over there in the first place ahead of time to work something out. Not only am i disappointed that I received two different responses to my question. But also that the unit will be leased again for the same price to someone else yet it has currently been paid by ME for the remainder of the month. I guess in this world it's about profit not about good providing customer service.

I rent from this location frequently. Even though I reserve online, prepay, and check in ahead of my arrival, it takes too long to get in/out. It is often busy at this location. But the time from when i first reach the counter until i go outside to access the equipment is far too long (usually 20mins for the paperwork, even though i did everything before walking in!). Once we're outside and at the truck or trailer it moves quickly, but there is typically a 20min wait to reach the counter followed by 20min at the counter and then 10 minutes checking the equipment. That's nearly 1 hour when I've already completed the paperwork and check in ahead of time. if there was an alternative in the area, I would stop using Uhaul in McKinney Tx.

I tried using the mobile app for easy pickup of the rental but it failed to work properly. The GPS said I was in the wrong place for 5 minutes and then the app stalled when trying to verify my picture and license. At that point I just asked to do a regular check in that went smoothly. The staff there were very friendly and helpful and had the app worked (or I had not used it at all) I would have rated this Excellent.

Somehow, during the rental process my return location was changed from where I set it up on the internet to the place where I was picking up the trailer. Also, I was sent out to a specific location to get the trailer and it was not there. I had to go back inside and have the rental agent tell the yard agent where to locate the trailer. It ended up the trailer number listed on my contract was not on the lot so the yard agent had to hand write a different trailer number on my contract. It was a very disorganized place and many of the employees grumbled as they moved around.

Had to wait in line for 20 minutes just to get to the counter. And that was after one guy walked out because he waited so long. I even used the express check out online. I can't imagine how much longer it would've taken. Truck was clean on the outside, smelled like cigarette smoke inside. Disgusting. Only had the truck for 30 minutes, and upon return, they couldn't get the check in machine to work. Said they would go inside and email me the receipt immediately. Just received the receipt, almost 24 hours later. Not impressed. If I need a little truck again, I'm going to try Home Depot across the street.

Please help me, as I received the receipt this morning in my email inbox, where I found that I have been charged for Missing Furniture dolly which I placed in the trunk of the truck when I dropped the truck. When I received the truck the dolly was inside the trunk of the truck and when I dropped I put the dolly in the trunk same way how I received. it was $20 that was charged extra. We went there to pick up our second truck and we were told that the truck was not there. The manager told us, "I don't know why you booked a truck here because we do not have one." I am formed him that Customer Service booked the truck there. In the end, they were able to get us the truck we needed, but it delayed us by a couple of hours. We were already paying the movers hourly at that point, so it cost us a considerable amount more.

We had to drive to McKinley to pick up another one-a round trip of over 30 miles out of our way, but at least they had one and offered to rent us a larger size for the same price. McKinney was very accommodating but Frisco leaves much to be desired.

Don't accuse your customer of stealing your truck, especially when the customer has a contract number for said truck. Don't threaten to call the cops. Don't ask me about a piece of equipment that was missing from the truck when I originally got the truck. It won't magically appear, and the contract has the necessary details in the details section.

Personnel resisted verification of brake fluid level in master cylinder, and when forced to check, did not recognize problem when cylinder was empty. Added fluid and sent me on my way. Made it 200 miles without mishap while assuming brakes failed. Found separated brake line upon turn'in.

The person who I returned the truck to was very nice and took the $40 for the extra day off of my bill. The reason I would not recommend uhaul was the overall hassle and the fact that they did not have my vehicle even though I rented on line in advance. I had to go out of my way to get the truck rather than close to my house. I stood in line for quite a while only to learn they did not have my truck. If someone would have called in advance and directed me to the other location I could have avoided the line and it would not have been so bad.

The trailer we rented worked great. The uhaul equipment is always sturdy stuff and well built. The exterior was showing its age with cracked and powdering paint and there was rust on a lot of the metal parts. So, I would say it needed some exterior maintenance.

After loading the truck the back door was stuck and I had to drive back to uhaul for them to fix it. No apology for the inconvenience but instead the guy said "you have to make sure the latch is locked". Funny I never had that happen before. Then when I returned the truck the guy helping me park angrily motioned for me to move it to another lane. One that was blocked by a car. When I said "I can't fit through that space without hitting that car" he responded "we'll get out of the truck and I will do it!!" I called the general manager and while he did respond his voicemail stated that "this was his only day off and he was spending it with his family and to "contact him back ONLY if this was an emergency- otherwise he would deal with it tomorrow". Seriously? I now understand why the staff is so rude. I have rented trucks from this location at least 7 times in the last year. Guess where I will not be going for my next rental? Guess who will be posting on the Nextdoor app warning ALL Prosper residents? That's right - this guy!

This facility was great. But they were fixing the fiasco that the Safe Ship (they supply Uhaul trucks after hours) caused earlier that morning. They had the truck there at 6:30, as promised. But they locked the keys in the truck and left. It was pouring and I got soaked trying to find the key. Customer service took me through installing the app, paying for it, seeing I wasn't going to get the key then played a game of handing me off to the next rep for an hour until someone finally directed me to this location near Custer. I ended up getting a truck at 8am, 1.5 hours late, I missed getting help because I was late. Even though this location made things better, uhaul as a company lost me as a customer due to the handling of my off hours request.

Train your employees on how to do simple repairs on the trailers you rent out. I had to show them how to replace a clearance light. One of the guys didn't know what a butt connecter was. The guys were very nice, but I reserved the trailer a week or two before I needed it and it should have been ready when I got there to pick it up. Other than that, it was a good experience.

I rented a car carrier. Everything was great until I went to release the tire straps and the right hand side one did not release. It took me 30 minutes with a screwdriver to get the belt off. I told the guys on return and while they did apologize I would expect something more. Very frustrating given the list of restrictions that was outlined to me on the use of the trailer yet it was the trailer itself that failed me.

We returned the trailer the day we used it and they lost our return. They then called and left me voicemails that I was going to be stopped by police and have it repossessed. They acted like I still had it. Finally I got in contact with their customer service and they said a manager would call me. No call came but a bill for three days was sent to me. Again we returned the same day! I then got customer service again. She told me that she would get my information to the district manager and request a refund and also a partial refund for all the trouble. The manager called me and gave the the two day refund but nothing in addition like the customer service agent suggested they would do. When I asked about it he said "did the trailer work" of course it worked! But it took days of threats and problems to get a phone call and resolve. What a nightmare of an operation!!! I will never rent a trailer from here again.

The installation of my new trailer hitch was fast and looks to be installed properly. I immeadeatly rented a trailer and away I went in just under 30 minutes! The staff was friendly and courteous, bathrooms were clean and the store was very clean and professional. You can't put a price on good service and unfortunately at the time I had no cash on me to tip the gentleman who helped me that day, so in turn I ask whoever is in charge here to give these gentlemen a raise and a firm hand shake!

Mileage/gas level did not match contract. The employee that was helping us hand wrote the correct mileage on the contract. When we returned, the employee that that was checking is in made a huge deal about the handwritten corrections. If that was not the way it was supposed to be done, take it up with the employee that hand wrote the corrections, not the customer. They did eventually correct the charges, but when I got home I looked at my credit card statement and saw that they still charged me the higher amount.

Great service. My only suggestion was that the unloaded trailer had a very light tongue weight. This brought on a lot of noise from the gaps in the receiver/draw bar. It would be nice if there was a easy/cheap solution that you could offer to take up space via a spacer or shims.

This was my second location for my pickup. After starting off at Uhaul on the 121/Custer in Plano, I made my reservation with a very helpful Jennifer. I also told her that I had a better price from another location and she said to bring it in the next day when we picked up the trailer. When my wife did that, the location wouldn't honor it and told her she had to go to the University Ave, McKinney location, 8 miles away to get that price. I found that to be the wrong thing to do, since they match pricing for competition, but not other franchisees. The University Ave location stepped up and took care of my wife, and she was thrilled with their service.

We hauled a friends belongings from Dallas Texas area to Eustis, Florida, a thousand miles, and could not have asked for better service from the U-Haul trailer. most of the time I was driving it was so smooth you could not tell I was pulling a trailer. I was very happy with everything. U-Haul personnel at both ends of the trip were very helpful and very polite. I will definitely use U-Haul again next time. Thank You.

The only thing that was hard to find was the night drop for the key. The yard was so full of trucks and trailers being dropped late in the evening that it made it hard to see where to place the keys and I had to return the next day just to deliver the keys which i'm sure tied up the lot with my vehicle return until I gave them the keys back. It needs to be illuminated and shown to any client planning to use it after hours just to ensure it can be found. Otherwise the rental was perfect and the staff was excellent in every way.

Someone from the store called before our trip to verify that I wanted a 6x12 trailer. I told them that I had reserved a 5x10 from another store, and I did not want a 6x12. They supposedly changed the reservation in their system to what I initially reserved online, but when my husband came to pick up the trailer, they sent him off with a 6x12, saying they didn't have any 5x10 trailers. They told him they'd give him the larger trailer at the lower price. They did not. I had to call customer service to get them to lower the price. The larger trailer was not what we needed/wanted (too large/bulky/heavy), and we found out at the end of our trip that the trailer running lights did not work, even thought they said they'd checked them. I don't understand why the online reservation system would have directed me to either dealer when neither had the equipment I requested.

I ordered and paid for a dolly. I arrived home and the dolly was not in the back of the truck. I called and they said to return to pick it up. I went back, which added mileage to my final cost. I put gas back in the truck, to the exact point to where it was when I started, between 3/4 and full tank. I was charged an extra seven dollars for gas. I can only think that this was to put the truck at full tank. The truck was returned after hours, and key left in the slot. Bottom line, company word against mine. I am needing to finish moving this upcoming Sunday, but will not use this location again.

I could not return the tow trailer I rented to the a signed dealer. The other place they sent me was the same one that refused me. I drove over 120 miles looking for dealer open for business, finally found one that could not take my trailer either, he was full but an employee said in couple it and it would be taken care of and it was.

Matt Vaughn was a lifesaver during our moving experience. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and ensured we had what we needed for our move from tx to nc. When we ended up losing our key to the uhaul and were unable to get roadside assistance on the phone or via the web, he personally called the field tech and had them at my location in less than 20 mins. My move did not go at all as planned, but Matt did an excellent job of putting me at ease and getting us the help we needed during an extremely stressful event. He is a valuable asset to Uhaul and your customers for sure!

I received an email telling me to drop the Uhaul off as this was the nearest location to me. I clicked on the link in the email and put that address in my Google Maps app. When I got to the location I couldn't see anything that said Uhaul so I went past it and thought maybe the pin was off slightly. I still didn't see anything so I looped around a second time and pulled into the parking lot. Still nothing labeled Uhaul. I finally just typed the word Uhaul into my Google Maps app and realized that the location was actually about a mile away in the opposite direction. When I pulled in and told the attendant he said "Oh yeah, I think there used to be a location over there." No, "I'm sorry, I know it's a hassle to drive a 26 foot truck back and forth up and down the highway looking for a location that isn't there." No, "I'm sorry you just put a bunch of extra miles on the truck that you will have to pay for because the link we sent in the email doesn't accurately reflect our location." And there were so many vehicles waiting to be checked in that we could not pull through in our personal vehicle to leave the facility after we dropped the truck off. So we had to exit out of the "Entrance Only" location onto a busy highway which is super dangerous. So, definitely room for improvement here.

I was over charged for mileage and fuel. Mileage was over fourteen miles. I had to drive 18 miles to the drop off place. I returned the the truck with more gas in it than when I received it. I can't figure this out. The pick-up point changed three times when I was picking up the truck. Drop off location changed twice. I also passed three drop off points to get to the one they told me to go to. These are my complaints and other than that the truck was great.

I was told to discuss getting a refund for the blankets we had not received. This took one hour to be issued a $10 refund. It ended up being out of principle rather than for the money. Terribly inefficient operation and business model. Very disappointed.

All of the employees were very friendly and helpful. However, when I went in to do the necessary paperwork for a trailer I had already reserved, there was only one employee working inside and one customer was ahead of me. I had a schedule to keep for picking up the item I had purchased from an individual. It was about 8:15 am when I arrived at your location, and having only 1 person working inside seems insufficient, since many daily rentals usually go out early. It ended up working out okay, but the delay could have been a real mess if the woman of the family from whom I bought the item was already gone. The husband had already left. I suggest you give more thought to the times of the day when customer flow is likely to be higher and more important to those on schedules like I was.
