I had reserved 2 dollys. When I arrived, I was told that the larger dolly wasn't available, and that they'd remove it from my order, and that I'd get just the smaller dolly. The smaller dolly was not inside the truck, like indicated it would be. The office did remove the dolly charge from my order upon returning the truck. However, having the dolly, or knowing that I needed to secure another dolly ahead of time, would have been appreciated. Not having a dolly required me to do more heavy lifting, of which i am still paying for 2 days later.Taylor M.

Ordered a moving van online and when we got there we were told that it was unavailable for the time we wanted it and that ordering online is more of a request or statement of interest in one but it doesn't lock in your order. If someone else goes in they can rent it right out from under you before you get there. I don't understand this if you rent it online and put in your credit card info it should be yours held for you until get there or don't offer it as available in the first place. Frustrating, so we left without one and spent several hours trying to find what we needed somewhere else. Inevitably we did not for the time frame needed. The process online should be changed to tell you what available or whats not and then assign it to you when you place your order. Online ordering is a convenience for all parties involved when it works properly, it reduced employee renter time of interaction therefore reducing dollars per hour invested in the process of a rental and SHOULD streamline it. Instead it took more time interacting at the business explaining this and trying to find an alternative at the agreed upon online price. In the end we got a lot of apologies for the process working the way it does and we left without finding a reasonable alternative for the time online said was available.Drew C.

I was just appaled that, having made the booking and organized my plans around this, that the trailer was actually 2hrs away from where I collected the truck. This was just a dreadful customer experience. It then transpired that the U-Haul truck had a headlight out. Rather than try to help fix it, I was palmed off to the phone roadside assistance service. The first two tries they said they'd send someone, when I phoned to check progress no record of a request. Then the third time they had to start a new request adding yet further delay to my plans. the truck in general was fine, but customer service as far as giving the customer important information is severely lacking AT renting agent made NO Mention of the fuel or that it needed to be back where it was when it was returned. NO walk around for damages was done at the time of rental. We were just handed the keys and pointed to the truck outside and sent on our way. The Driver was the only person asked about the fuel or condition when the truck was returned.Abram M.
After reserving a first uhaul more than two weeks in advance,it was a nightmare. I had to drive with my older mother 3 1/2 hours away because they didn't have a uhaul locally for me. That meant another 3 1/2 hours back. On the way back we saw uhaulsbparked in towns much closer to our home that were in a storage unit not being used. This office failed to attempt to find anything closer, nor did they attempt to bring the uhaul to our local office since I had reserved one more than two weeks before I needed it. They compensated me a little over $100 dollars which did not make up for the lost time and gas expense for us. Also since we were picking up the U-Haul in the off hours we had to get the key from a lock box. I was supposed to go online and go to â€œpick up my truckâ€ under the dashboard. I was unable to access this feature in my phone. After getting hung up on I finally found a man who tried to help me, but he couldn't get the dashboard to work either. So after 1 1/2!hours of trying he transferred me to his supervisor who had to do the check in over the phone and tell me the combination to the lockbox. This second uhaul was made available with only a few days of requesting it after my mother gave them an earful of our horrific and unnecessary experience the first time. Make sure when someone reserves a trailer you actually have it there when it's time to pick up. I reserved a 5x10 box trailer a week before pick up. I was delivering a bunch of Christmas presents and needed them out of the wind and elements. One of them was large. No box trailer with no explanation at all. Just a sorry. We have an open one. What the heck is that? What's the point? Take it or leave it basically. I had no choice. What a huge inconvenience! Really bad timing and completely unprofessional for a U-Haul representative..Richard S.

Overall things worked out but it was a little frustrating that I had reserved a 26' truck about 2 weeks ahead of time then received a call 2 days before I moved my 4 bedroom home telling me that there was only a 15' truck available. Lucky I was only moving across town and only put 16 miles on the truck. The people were all great and I would just say update the website better or more often so your customers aren't inconvenienced.Joseph I.

The front desk experience at the beginning was ok but I had a few issues in the trailer inspection the gentleman that was hooking up the trailer and my self were inspecting the trailer when he noticed the left light wasn't working he then continued to check the connectors and asked me to step on the breaks and turn in the left turn signal and he seemed like he doubted him self for a minute but he said your good they are working now so I proceeded to pick my vehicle up which was the reason of the rental I got pulled over for my left rear light not working luckily I didn't get a citation and one of the straps of the trailer was to short like it was either cut or was thorn off the ratchet were extremely rusty and hard to operate I mean I am a pretty big guy and even like that I struggled a lot on the return of the equipment I brought up to two of the employees atenciÃ³n what had happened one of them was the gentleman that unhooked the trailer and the other was a lady on the front desk and neither of them seemed to really care of the issue I was very unhappy with the service and any intention on solving the issueMIGUEL R.

I never rate things like this, but I really did have one of the worst commercial experiences of my life at the Yuba City U-HAUL. The employees and customers were loudly making explicit, homophobic jokes as we were waiting in line. Worst, the employees and customers were not wearing masks in a global pandemic, while laughing, talking, coughing indoors. They then went on to make disparaging remarks about us for wearing masks. We live with folks in their late sixties. Disappointed by the exchange, and will find another resource with my future moving needs.Adam J.

the truck smelled of smoke and the wiring for lightings did not work- we were sent to another location for a dolly where we realized it had not been inspected. our trip was delayed hours because of this. also the employees did not wear masksMadison H.
Normally everything is good to go but this truck was definetly older and there was a pack of cigarettes between the side of my seat and ash in the cup holder, I don't smoke but I could smell the remnants of it. Also the steering wheel was a little off so to drive straight I have to turn left a little bit, but it may have also been windy outside. Finally I have rented at least 6 trucks with uhaul recently and this was my first time dropping off after hours and I could not get the free return to wokr on my phone, it would not grab my location on my android, and my friends iphone couldn't take a photo. So I was lost on how to return the vehcile properly.Christian W.
