Was told the 10x10 would be a drive up unit, very inconvenient to maneuver things through the building. Young man at the counter was rude and both times I had to deal with him.

U-haul rep Gabe was not the greatest rep. I rented another one way truck a month or so ago at another location and it went well. Gabe told me it was u-haul's corporate policy that the alternate phone number be called to verify it is accurate or he couldn't rent to me?? I have never heard of this. Furthermore, the truck was filthy outside and I had to clean the windows and mirrors myself.

Checking in took way longer than it should have. I get that training new employees is needed, but I should have been asked prior. Considering I was on a time constraint for getting the equipment back... also, there was no point in me checking in online... so why suggest it? Checking the trailer back in- I had to unhook myself since nobody was around... Highly doubt I'll use this location again

I reserved a 26' truck a week in advance. Days later I was told that my reservation was not good and I'll be down graded to a smaller truck. Then I get told I need to drive an hour away to Anacortes get this truck, not even where I made the reservation, Stanwood. I get to that location and they don't have my down graded reservation. The lady in Anacortes was helpful though. But then I get told if I want a truck I have to drive another hour in the opposite direction to Ferndale to get the truck. Over all I feel like making a reservation and having it cancelled numerous times, as well as down graded was a horrible moving experience. It wasted half of my day in driving and I had movers at my house waiting for me. Im not impressed with how Uhaul as a company handled my experience. I wasted a lot of money because of this. This was not branch specific it was Uhaul. I feel cheated.

At the end of the day, Uhaul did what I asked them to do: deliver one U-Box from Washington to California. I cannot fault them for that. However, there were hiccups throughout the pick-up and shipping processes that made it a very frustrating experience. The first issue occured when picking up the U-Box in Ferndale. I had made a reservation for U-Box self-delivery, but the truck that I had reserved was not on site. As a result, I had to drive to a different location several miles away to secure one. The truck that Uhaul found for me did not have a town hitch, and I was required to purchase one in order to tow the U-Box trailer. I was eventually refunded the cost of the truck rental and the tow hitch, but the whole pickup experience cost me nearly 4 hours. That there was only one person working at the site that day did not speed things up. The Ferndale location is understaffed and needs additional employees to handle customer interactions, phone calls, and property management. However, I do want to give credit to Cheyenne for her help in sorting out some of my issues. She was very understanding and apologetic about the issues I had experienced. The only other minor complaint I have about my U-Box experience has to do with the Uhaul website interface. The website does not update when the U-Box has shipped from its initial destination, so it appears that it is stuck in storage until it arrives at its final destination. It would be nice if Uhaul had a way of providing a tracking number, much as USPS or FedEx do when shipping a package.

I always use online checkout. This time it went very smooth when I arrived at the pickup location. However, the previous week I rented a trailer and did online checkout, when I arrived the associate helping me treated it like it didn't matter. She also verified that I chose trip protection when I hadn't. She literally said “I see you want the $5000 trailer rental coverage for only $8.00”. We both knew I didn't select it, so why say I did? If you want to pitch it or verify that I don't want it, fine. But don't lie about it. Plus this person demanded I provide an alternative number, someone who'd answer when she called right on the spot. Are you kidding me? This time when I rented the associate was polite, treated me with respect, saw my online checkin, and got me in and out of there without calling. I've rented several times from this place and only had the one experience like my previous one. I felt like I was being accused of something before I did it. Hopefully that previous experience was a onetime thing.

The two individuals at the front desk were very helpful. They were also fun and down to earth. They were both wearing masks. Which made me feel safe. They let me do the paperwork out in the car. They also let me open the door to the office while they were doing paperwork.Great experience altogether top notch professionals.

Given that we are in the middle of a pandemic I am very cautious about public interactions and touching shared-use surfaces, so I was dreading to have to rent a truck that requires me to touch a steering wheel, knobs, handles, etc., and a pen/paperwork. Well, my concerns were unfounded: the folks at U-Haul Storage of Ferndale totally had their act together and then some. Without any prompt from me they clearly were using best practices: well designed infographics that clearly outlined their comprehensive sanitation protocols, the employees all wore masks and gloves,were very conscious of social distancing and also provided a verbal description of their Covid precautions. The clerk even sprayed the paperwork with an aerosol sanitizer (again without any prompting from me). On top of that they were very friendly and efficient. It was like a military operation they were so organized. The people at this U-Haul franchise are operating at the very highest level of customer service, and I would (and will) recommend them most highly.

Well the whole experience pretty much sucked other than the trailer was nice. First you call the number that you think belongs to the shop in the location that you want to be and you talk to somebody in India who I saw your time only to not really understand if what you're looking for is at the location that you want so gives you the actual number to that location. Then I called the location nobody answers They finally do answer and confirm they have what I'm looking for so I reserve it. I arrived to pick it up there's nobody in the office so I have to stand around waiting for somebody to come out of the back storage area. and then the whole taking of my information starts all over again easy 20 minutes before I'm on the road. We finish up with the trailer go to take it back once again nobody in the office but there's a phone number up you're supposed to call. So I call it three times until it goes to voicemail No one answers. I just want to unload the trailer and leave but I don't know where to leave it because the parking lot small. Finally someone shows up and to say that he wasn't helpful is an understatement. there's no real dropping it off there You're expected to drive back through the storage facility and onto the far side of the property where you get no instructions on how to back the trailer up where they want it and because it's shorter than our pickup you can't see it finally got frustrated and just stopped got out and that's when he informed me that he could roll it back into position. yeah it might be worth the extra time to drive to the bigger center in Bellingham to rent one in the future or the local company although they're both in Bellingham so it's a little bit of a drive to go get it but seriously not the best experience.

Pay another employee. It shouldn't take 30+ minutes to check in or out. Don't try and charge people for things that are petty.

after spending time to fill out all the check in photo copies of everything reading all the optional information and submitting it I had to do it all again, this is not the first time this has happened this makes me believe that this process is a farce and total waist of time. and the part where you must have another contact to rent is stupid what if you don't have one or they don't want to be on a call list for them to have to call them at the time of rental really bad idea.

The Manager who ran this facility back in February was a gem. He was so professional, had a great exceptional customer service, even when people were complaining and not happy because they didn't prebook and had to wait. I would go back to this location again and again, He was promoted to a larger location so I hope the great service that he built continues.

The truck was clean and ready to go. The service was excellent I rented truck on spur of the moment no call ahead just showed up was in an out in 15 min. Return was fast and easy.

When we arrived, no one was in the office. There was a sign that stated the manager was on the property, back at 4 pm, for immediate assistance call. We called twice with no answer. After twenty minutes the manger came in. She was confused that there were extra chains on the hookup and had to call for help. They appeared to not know how to lift the tongue off. I told them the man just picked it up and put it on the ball. They did that and I finally left. They were courteous and that made the experience tolerable.

It is absolutely impossible to get a hold of anyone at this location, and i was charged a $20 return fee right after i booked the storage and i was told I shouldn't have been charged, but nothing was ever done about it.

My trailer pickup location in Birch Bay seems to be run by some folks who are unfamiliar with the website's payment processing. Ferndale people are wonderful!

The 25 furniture pads took up a lot of room since I was moving mostly boxes, there should be away to turn in the furniture pads that aren't wanted. Also moving help should have helped unscrew the bolted brackets that were put on the door. That used a weird drill bit and my tools were inside the ubox, so I had to borrow one and it was a hassle.
