From start to finish, this was by far the worst uhaul experience I've had to date (I'm a long time, loyal customer). First, the person helping me at pickup deemed my vehicle unfit to tow a trailer. Which, at first, really frustrated me because I've used my Toyota Tacoma to pickup and tow at least a dozen trailers from uhaulâ€”some of which from this exact location. If this was a safety issueâ€”then WHY was I able to pickup and rent a trailer from Uhaul previously? Literally nothing about my vehicle has changed from the first trailer I towed, to this most recent experience. A few thoughts that came to mind during that initial pickup interaction: (1) do uhaul associates actually care about the safety of their equipment and customers, not to mention other people on the road? (2) was this guy just having a bad day? (3) was it something I said or did? Decide for yourself. So, I (begrudgingly) obliged and returned with my Kia Soul that I recently installed a hitch on. But, I had to call the 800 number to ensure my trailer reservation was not cancelled while I made the trip home then back to uhaul. Thankfully the associate on the phone was empathetic to the situation, though she, too, was confused as to why Râ€¦..o refused to rent the trailer to me while I was driving my Tacoma. So I returned with my Kia Soul, and was told that my drop off location would be different than my pickup spot. That ended up being okay since the drop off location was closer to my final destination. Alright, now fast forward 6 days and it's time to return the trailer. I head to the drop off location on my contract, and I'm told â€œwe don't have space for the trailer so you'll have to take it toâ€¦â€ you guessed it, the place I picked it up from (8 miles away). At this point, I'm wondering what else I'm missingâ€”do I need to fill up the trailers gas tank? Is there a third wheel that needs more air? Why do they keep changing the goal posts, and why is this locations â€œspaceâ€ issue suddenly my problem? I was just following the contractâ€”so why shouldn't they? Again, I begrudgingly agreed to take it to the original pickup location (even though I was dropping it off a day early and clean) during rush hourâ€¦ after already driving 7-hours. Am I awakeâ€¦ are these guys this disorganized? I was told â€œtaking it back to the pickup locationâ€ meant that I wouldn't be charged one-way rates for daily rental and insurance. It probably doesn't come as a surprise that neither of those happenedâ€”shame on my for not getting that in writing. I was billed for full one-way rates. I'll be more diligent about my uhaul rentals going forward, and when it comes to running their errands and fixing their â€œspaceâ€ issuesâ€”next time I'll just unhook the trailer when and where it says on the contract. Otherwise, Uhaul should not only pay me for MY TIME but also my MILEAGEâ€”a pricing structure they are all too familiar with. I will be following up with Uhaul corporate to hold them accountable to the rates that I paid (one-way) since I returned the trailer to the pickup location. These folks are thumbs. Lastlyâ€”the wheel fairing was so damaged and bent towards the tire that I had to bend it away from the tire to ensure it didn't shred it if I hit a bump. Fix your trailers Uhaulâ€”the little (x) stickers don't make the issues go away.Travis H.

I brought the vehicle back with more gas than it had when I picked it up and I was charged for gas!. The vehicle was INCREDIBLY FILTHY!! To the point that we had to stop and get bleach wipes to clean it because it was just gross. I will never use this location again.Sherry M.
We had to return twice to get the proper ball hitch to pull our boat trailer. Once for the correct size and then after purchasing the right one, to get a pin replacement. I was charged for fuel wrongly. I dropped off the truck, showed my receipt for 5 gallons. I drove 34 miles. The gasoline I bought plus what the rental placed charged me came to over 7 gallons. This means the truck got 4.86 miles to the gallon. Impossible. I want my $ 8.08 refunded. If you calsulate mieage using my 5 gallons, the gas mialeage is 6.8 miles per gallon. I dont think the truck gets that low of mileage. Please refund my $ 8.08. I have rented multiple times in recent past From U-Haul. I forsee more in the near future. Is it worth $ 8.08 to cause me to move to Penske or another vendor. On the plus side, Rolondo is very professional and a real gem employee for you guys.VINCENT BRUCE G.

The customer counter is not visible from the door. It would be nice to be able to see where to go when you enter instead of having to wander around and hit dead ends. I rented twice here recently, and the steering wheel was sticky the first time. The second time, the wipers were old and chattered. It would be nice if these were checked more regularly.Todd H.

How many times to I have to deny furniture pads and dollys? I check in, get ONLY a furniture dolly. Return the van, they tell me I don't need to stay, they will email me a receipet. Man behind the counter texted me a U-Haul link to document any damage on the truck. The link had fuzzy low resolution pictures of all sides of the truck. I could see some large damage on the truck but could not see all the small scratches and dents I could see in person. Some already had "X" stickers on the truck and some didn't. The check in took a long time. Then the truck didn't have seatbelts and was dirty. The second truck ran very rough and smelled like smoke. Recently frustrating experience and those that helped us said they wouldn't rent from uhaul again.h P.

Manager is a tool. Rented a car dolly that didn't work.. told them what car I was needing to tow. Brought it right back.. customer service said that they could do a refund/ credit. I received a truck that had an awful smoke smell inside it was not clean. When I said something I was told that's odd then the other worker stated oh yea that was the truck that was return with cigarette ashes everywhere. I had no choice but to take the truck. Truck didn't run real well and brakes could use some work. Staff messed up my reservation multiple times, did not have equipment I had reserved available when I arrived (moving blankets), he said he just gave the last ones out. Was delighted to open the truck to find a bag that claimed to have 6 blankets but then discovered it only had 4. Broke a very large, very sentimental mirror because we didn't have the packing materials that were supposed to be reserved for protecting this item. And, I'd been led to believe that my first 30 miles were included with the truck rental but then found out that was only with one way. Also, one way is more expensive(?) Truck looked different than the truck in the pic on the online checkout. Staff doesn't seem to know what they're doing. I was very confused and stressed out during this whole transaction.Charlotte D.
This was the first time since you guys switched over to email links to assess condition of the equipment before rental. The person at the location was very worried about efficiency, part of what I'm paying for is service / time. He had no tolerance for when I ask any questions and seem to have very little time to spend on this transaction. When I was checking out the equipment and before I use the email link since it was my first time doing it this way I asked him if he knew that the running lights were not working he told me â€œif you feel unsafe taking it out, it's the only equipment we haveâ€. I replied, I was more worried about the fact that they(uhaul) might try to charge me for the damage. My first visit to the birthplace of U-Haul and probably be my last. PS: I carry a class A license, It's not about if I feel safe using the equipment it's about if it is safe to use the equipment.Tommy E.

It seems short-staffed at the end of and beginningnof the month. The staff have to really hustle, dealing with lines of customers, issues with moving trucks/vans, stressed-out customers. As an educator, I view this as a difficult work environment for staff. Part of what they do is educate the public on the trucks, storage, policies, etc., as well as solve problems. They do the best they can, but you need to staff the office with more people during peak times.I’ve found them to be extremely helpful and kind, but the stress they work under is obvious to any customer walking in the door.
