I have used this location multiple times over the years. Customer service and equipment are always great... unfortunately, there is apparently a new "policy" of not allowing customers to park on the lot! No warning of this fact until I drove over to get the truck and was told "sorry, you can park several blocks away at the Total Wine and More parking lot." When I asked "how are folks supposed to pick up their rental?" I was told to take an UBER. Unbelievable... but a true experience I had today 3/30/2023.Glenn W.

You don't give enough miles for a trip. I told the guy I had an hour and a half drive to my destination and then a drive back to the drop-off location and I was charged an extra $26 for going over the mileage. That's completely ridiculous. The truck we were given had no fuel, no fuel cap, and the previous user's garbage in the cup holder. The truck was literally on empty when we received it, and the fuel light came on within a half mile of the facility in the middle of downtown Seattle. I used the truck, put 18 miles on it, added 3gallons of gas and they charged me for 3 more gallons of gas - $15. This is like an institutional theft program. The meter is an old gauge that is imperfect at best. They handed me the receipt and made no indication that I was being charged for additional for the fuel. I had to read through and point it out before the woman addressed the charge. Clearly not wanting to discuss it. I complained and have heard NOTHING from the manager, Garrett. I did feel being discriminated in the store. It was the general manager Garrett who was too rude. I felt being discriminated by race. So I was in the queue for exactly 30 minutes. And when my turn came , Garrett asked me if I brought my car with me. I said yes and he asked me to go park my car first before he would even begin start discussing my contract. I asked him if we can finish up the contract, and he could not hand me the keys to the U-Haul. I will park my car before I take the U-Haul. He said he won't talk to me until I park my car. After parking my car at Total Wines and walking back 0.7 miles, I asked if he can take me up first. He shouted and said I need to go back in the queue, so waited for another 10 minutes. I was helped by another guy then, who was very empathetic. Forget racism, isn't this so basic that he could have asked everyone stepping in to park the car first, or sign the contract and hand keys later. When I told this to my friends, they told me that they had faced similar behavior from Garrett. We were thinking of posting this online, but we thought of leaving a feedback first. When we rented the UBox we loaded the box halfway, told the Uhaul location we'd be back the next day to finish. We come back the next day and the UBox was taken from the location to somewhere else in WA. We were talking to an associate about getting the box returned and said he'd have to talk to his boss, Garrett. Garrett comes up to us and asks, â€œdo you have more than 1 trip to do? Or is this it?â€ And we say we have a couple more trips. And he says, â€œok so we need to get it back today.â€ And then proceeds to walk away. We talk to the associate again who is doing his best to help us, but we were really put off by the manager's, Garrett's, customer service. He just walked away from us and said nothing else to us. He had a terrible attitude, was drinking and smoking on the job from what we could observe. It took 3 hours for the UBox to be returned to the location. We finished loading the box and thought we were done. A few days later, I get a call saying there needs to be a lock put on the box. We were not told that we needed to put a lock on the box before shipping. Uhaul says they will put a lock on the box before shipping. When the box arrives in San Diego we thought it would be smooth sailing from there. We get the box delivered, but we don't have the key to the box. We ask the delivery person if they have a key. They say no, and say â€œI would've brought the bolt cutters if I'd known you didn't have the key.â€ We didn't have the key because uhaul put whatever lock on there and never did anything with the key. So I go out, buy bolt cutters to get the lock off the box. Overall, I had a very poor experience with Uhaul. There was a lot of miscommunication and poor planning. I would not recommend anyone use Uhaul in the future.NICHOLE S.

The lady who took my reservation was very helpful with helping me book my trunk and she immediately had answers for all my questions. When I arrived to this Uhaul location the nice gentleman behind the counter was very helpful as well. The staff were all very friendly and the lady who helped me book my reservation she gave me a tour of the storage units which were a lot smaller than I thought they would be but she was going to work with me if I needed a smaller storage unit as well which I was pleased to hear because moving is a pain. Thankfully I was able to fit everything in one larger unit instead of 2 units. It's rare now a days to find great customers service especially in this line of business where it seems like people are not grateful. Nicole was very helpful when I picked up the trailer. When I wanted to return it early, i called the number on my receipt and after waiting on hold ~ 15 minutes I got someone who refused to make the early return notice in your system, requiring that I go to the website. I did so and the website would not function to make the change. I had to drive back to the pick-up place to provide notice in person and make sure the trailer was accepted as returned. I had an overly complicated move from a two story, plus attic duplex to a house. The folks at U haul Interbay made it extremely easy to rent the truck. When our keys were still not available at truck, pick up time, they were able to accommodate us later in the day. The customer service rep that I spoke to on the phone. It was so incredibly helpful and guided me towards hiring day of movers. Mansour and Adib Arrived on time after very short notice on New Year's Day. They had our truck filled in record time and we're so thorough, communicative, and friendly. I have never seen two people work so hard. I purchased a storage unit online the day of move-in. When I got to the unit, after office hours but during access hours, my unit had a lock on it that was from the U-Haul office. This lock, and any instructions about the lock were not mentioned at all in the materials I received when purchasing the unit. I was on the phone with customer service for 40 minutes with 3 different agents, all of whom said the lock was not supposed to be there. None of them could help me get into the unit or transfer to a different unit. I ended up having to leave and come back the next morning which was an extreme inconvenience for me and my friends helping me move. Come to find out, this particular U-Haul location started putting locks on their units because of a recent break in, so you have to come in person during office hours to get the lock removed and get a special key card. None of this was mentioned during the online purchase, there's obviously a major communication problem between corporate and individual locations, and unfortunately the customers have to pay the price for that. You probably know that this facility has been a nightmare for a number of years. I had a storage unit there for a year and a half and the few times I was there (picking up moving boxes, etc.) you had been some of the most bizarre, angry and unprofessional people working AND it was always a huge disorganized mess. Your computer system is completely inadequate for the volume of business you do at that store! The person waiting on me Saturday said he had been brought in to clean up the mess but the office and store area is still trashed and you seem to be understaffed. However, he was professional and friendly - a huge improvement. I can’t answer the questions about available hours and up until Saturday I would have rated everything beyond poor- it felt dangerous. So, some of my comments are shaded by the unprecedented experiences I had in the past.. NOTE: I hadn’t been at the site August 2019. I would say your grade would be NI - needs improvement.
