This location was 50 miles in San Francisco Bay area, about 2 hours commute time from my pick-up location preference which has about 30 U-Haul locations available. This took us 4 hours out of our way just to get the trailer and set us a day behind scheduleRobert H.

Honestly everything was so hard to find. I couldn't figure out where to drop off the vehicle and then I had issues with finding my storage unit and then I couldn't find the key drop box. My overall experience was terrible. I reserved a truck nearly 3 weeks in advance to be picked up at the Danville location at 10am on Saturday the 17th. On Friday the 16th, at 3:08pm, I received a message stating that my reservation would be ready at 3pm on the 17th at the Pleasanton location. After all of that, I go to drop off my vehicle at the location I was told to leave it at, when the manager runs out and tells me that I can't leave it there and that I have to take it to another location, 6 miles away, so I drive it there last minute. I finally tell the associate at THAT location all of the issues I've experienced in the last 48 hours and he tells me there's nothing he can do about it and to call the 800 number if I need to complain. He was kind enough though to tell me that he needed to charge an additional $10 since I went over the mileage. Thanks, UHAUL!Erik T.

Overall would recommend uhaul and was pleased with the communication on Washington's end, California was non existent. Hence they could learn from Washington how to communicate with customers. My ubox was not ready to unload when I came at the scheduled date, and I had to come back in the afternoon to unload and move into my new rented storage. I’m only giving 5 stars because of how great your employee was, although the situation I had to deal with was extremely frustrating. The guy who helped me (I can’t remember his name but if U Haul cares about reviews I can get it) is a great asset to U Haul and provides outstanding customer service. I’ve worked in retail before and understand how angry customers can get when they get screwed over but he genuinely felt bad and had helped me throughout the whole process. He deserves a raise and/or a promotion. Seriously. The only issue I had with this facility is that I was assigned a storage unit and after moving everything in realized there was no sliding lock on the door to attach to my lock. I showed him the situation and could tell he really felt bad about the bad news he had to share with me. Luckily he found me another unit that was close by and although it was frustrating to have to move everything by myself after my roommates left I was happy he found me one close to my storage unit. **For Uhaul** If my review affects this guy’s job in a negative way then you are not reading my review. He did an amazing job handling the situation and doesn’t deserve any negative feedback towards him. It was out of his control as it would be impossible to monitor hundreds of storage units by himself. It should have been in the system that there wasn’t a way to attach a lock. Doing the online reservation and check in was long and cumbersome. Will not do that again. The gas level was wrong but I was unable to see it during check in. I rented a van that was different from previous vans I have rented from this location. It was an older model and did not fit my bed like the previous van did. If there are differences in the vans that should be noted upon purchasing, instead of advertising all the vans as the same.Wynn G.
I only drove 24 miles, and I filled the gas before I returned the truck, but I was still charged for 6 gallons of gas. The fuel level shown on the contract was not accurate, I took a photo of the dashboard when I entered the pick-up, but the staff at the rental location didn't have the permission to change the system. I had reserved a cargo van via the app, entering all my details, confirming the reservation etc. I arrived to use the mobile check-in process but for the second week I'm succession it simply didn't work. The app would not load my reservation so I had to wait in line for 30 minutes to be served by an unapologetic member of staff. Fortunately when I returned the vehicle your employee â€œAnnâ€ greeted me. She also took good care of us when we rented a vehicle last week. I have used UHaul corp. for many years. I would not recommend this location on 5555 Sunol, Pleasanton,Ca I have always had the customer support go over the vehicle before driving and upon return. This location the person named Anne helped me when I walked in and when I returned. She did not do either upon return she only looked at mileage and gas. She did not check van for damage or look at vehicle at all. Not inside the back of van for items that might be left or even trash. Which there was none. I watched her. I was told that I would be charged more money due to vehicle not being returned with a full tank when I got into van it was at 3/4 tank. I used a quarter of tank due to staying in town driving it do shopping and moving furniture from stores locally. I have my gas receipt also. I paid $15.00 to replace what I used. Returned it as I picked it up. I have rented vans & moving trucks for years from different location. I am disappointed that I am charged extra now which is truly unfair. She was not into checking this vehicle she was there to do computer work. Very unsatisfied customer service. I will continue with Dublin Location unless you can fix my charges. I had 3354.0 mi out and return usage: 3385.0 you can see I used the van locally so I did not use that much gas. The vehicle was not FILLED UP when I got into truck it was at 3/4 and that's exactly what I came back with. Thanks, celiaCelia C.

I found the facility interrior clean and once inside well kept however I did have two issues when I arrived at the Pleasanton facility: 1. Access to storage in the rear was not apparent, I had to inquire where to go and 2. The description of what could fit into certain sizes of storage were very misleading online. When we arrived at the storage facility, it was obvious that we were not going to be able to store our items in the locker we had chosen and we needed something bigger. I rented a 10x10, but when I got there it was not vacant. Apparently, there was a mixup of some sort and so I was left without a unit. The assistant manager was grumpy, and not helpful. The lady that helped me was awesome. She took me around to all of the available spaces until I found the best option. She has shoulder length dark hair, is slim and energetic. The employees were very friendly, however this was about the most unorganized and incomplete move in experience. 1. Although I was allowed to moved into two units (and booked weeks in advance), I still only have one unit under my name because the employees said the “system wasn’t cooperating.” I still only have one unit under my name and cannot get ahold of anyone at the front desk to fix this. And when I got my receipt, it still only shows the one unit. 2. My keycard never got activated even though I visited the front desk twice. I still cannot access the building during off hours yet I have a unit. 1.Blled, even threatened w/ lien for a billing error while I was out-of-country. 2. My units were padlocked by U-HAUL even after mistake was resolved after I returned. Because of COVID I couldn’t be there to empty units. Movers could not get in! This EVEN AFTER I called that movers were coming! Too much trouble and embarrassment for me!
