The truck had a large hole in the floor where the friend who was helping me move hurt themselves quite badly. I told the staff and they seemed to shrug it off. My rental was scheduled for September 2nd. On that day when I arrived there was a HUGE line up at the counter. I waited 20 minutes. when I did speak to an agent, they told me the truck I had reserved had been in an accident. This was true, I saw the truck. They did have other trucks in other offices, but I had to coordinate the moving of the reservation. It was very busy and the gentlman was very nice, so I offered to postpone my project for a week and not make a fuss. He offered to give me a discount for my rental. He asked me to contact him before the Friday the 9th Of September of the rental. I emailed the day before, and no answer. When I was in the office I told them of my situation, the agent said that they had no information and the person I had emailed had been on vacation for a week! this means they would have known that I would email them at a time that they would be on vacation. This may be why they did not put a discount at the time when they changed the reservation on the 2nd of September. This is highly unethical or at least very incompetent, but definitely NOT good customer service. So this is my reason for Poor Rating. Not Impressed at all Uhaul.Vikeine M.

When i initially got the truck the back was dirty, tires kept going flat i had to keep filling it throughout the week and had to fill it up before i left so no maintenance check was done before renting it to me. As well they put an "alert" on my name because i was 20min late due to me cleaning the truck that was dirty when i got it, so i wouldnt be charged.Kyle L.

Once again there was no customer service or support for us or any other people dropping off their vehicles. The online drop-off system is not user-friendly. However, the online providers were extremely quick to note the we owed them 12 more dollars for gas (in spite of us filling it to the correct level prior to bringing it in). This was on top of an exorbitant price for rental. We feel that an investigative expose of U-Haul's practices is warranted.Richard M.

I had no idea what was the gas I had to put in. I received my vÃ©hicule 30 minutes later than my initial reservation and still had to return it at the initial time. The truck was dirty outside. I had to clean the windshield which was very dirty ( insects traces ) . Also was reservation was for 8:30 am but the appliance dolly was not in the truck, as I ordered when I made my reservation. I had to wait 30 minutes until the location was open to got it. When returning the truck I waited for more than 15 minutes at the office to get my location released.Eric S.

U-Haul needs to get better trained customer service Reps, I was totally misled by an agent out of Montreal, I spoke with Maria @ phone # 514 684 3273 on Aug 11th at around 4,11 PM and told her that I require a 15 Footer truck for one way Dorion To Toronto, she said so you need a 24 hour rental I said yes, she says OK no Problem..and then she says if there's any problem that they will contact me, this was my expectation until I was advised by email on Aug 19th to pick up the truck at 306 Cremazie west instead of rue 607 Rue Chicone, when I got to 306 Cremazie I was told that it was a 3 day rental and I was charged over $1000+ I I had totally been misled and paid a lot more that I had expected.........NOT Happy with this rental.Nourang S.

Overall, Uhaul provides good service, but the booking experience is terrible. I needed a truck for 48h, you're telling me you have trucks but then someone from your office leaves a voicemail saying you don't. No real option offered, in a different location, a different size.... But if I pick up on Saturday at 7AM and return o sunday at 9AM (because it only opens at 9AM on sundays), you said you were going to charge me the 2 days. well, the truck felt a bit dodgy to drive. There was a message that the oil needed changing and even though I was driving for 2 hours on a highway, you can see the oil pressure meter kept changing values, signs of the need of a dire oil change, or something potentially faulty with the motor. Also, the steering needs an alignment, there was a constant 15 degree slant in the wheel to keep the car driving straight. Consider updating the pictures when client are doing their initial inspections. Almost every single picture I had as reference to identify defects I had to contest, some even twice. The trucks exterior was no where close to what I had been given as reference. This will save headaches on the dealers part for any new potential damage and also protecting the client for any additional fees they might get because there is such a big difference in the pictures compared to what you're actually getting (again, only looking at the exterior). Service was flawless. The people working there are extremely friendly and are very helpful when compromising KMs for your trip and return time. I think this location was the best experience I've had at a U-Haul store by far. I will definitely go back to this specific location if I need another rental. Otherwise it was cleaned freshly upon pickup and the interior was very well maintained. Thanks again for a great service!sean J.

The particular rental unit I had has a giant fan / air exchanger type machine blocking the space up above about 6 ft. The wall showed the signs that there was water damage in the past. For me there was no issue but if I wanted to rent longer with more belongings to store, I wouldn't be comfortable with that unit. On a réservé un espace de location un mois et demi à l’avance. Lorsqu’on est arrivé, on s’est fait dire qu’il n’y avait aucun espace de cette taille. On a donc du payé plus cher pour un espace plus grand. Votre compagnie est très décevante. Je ne la recommanderais pas à personne. D’ailleurs, on a aussi eu des problèmes pour la location du camion. Sans nous prévenir, ils nous ont changé le lieu où il fallait récupérer le camion et le nouveau était à 1h15 de distance. La compagnie n’a rien fait pour nous dédommager dans les 2 cas. Thé website for online reservations works however is problematic when trying to make a payment or upload ID. When trying to reach the location, i kept getting transferred to the central. The people I spoke to (3 people at 3 different times) could not reach the Cremazie location either. No one at the location was logged onto the chat even though it was during hours of operation. It took me over 2.5 hours of calling and waiting to finally be able to upload my ID which was already on file (the system wouldn’t recognize it) and process payment. I received no help from anyone. Then when I got to the location, a padlock was in the locker I had rented. I had to wait in line in order to get someone to give me access to my new unit. (I was transferring from a large unit to a smaller unit. I’ve been a customer at this location for 13 months.) I booked a 10' x 10' storage unit in advance. When I came to the facility on the moving day I was told that the unit I booked is not available and I can only get a smaller one (5' x 5 or 5' x 8'). I chose a 5' x 8' one, finalized the deal and went to check the unit to find out that it has a massive concrete pillar right in the centre (it's part of the building that just happened to be inside the unit that I was given). The staff were friendly, helpful and professional, but I would not recommend anyone using U-Haul storage services because of poor reliability. A l’arrivée, il est écrit no parking partout mais il faut bien prendre le temps de débarquer notre marchandise et aller au locker. De plus, nous avons parlé à un employé qui ne nous a pas vraiment accompagner dès le début, info de base mais comme elle savait que c’était notre première visite, elle aurait dû nous dire que l’on devrait passer au bureau récupérer un cadenas puisqu’une fois arrivée au locker c’était barré, pas de service avec lintercom pour joindre un employé, j’ai dû retourner au bureau à l’entrée, pas d’employé dans le bureau d’entrée, bref vraiment pas efficace et adéquat. The staff are fairly rude to customers. The organization of the drop off and move out is chaotic and un-managed. Granted its busy during peak times of the month there is still a level of customer service required when people are spending a lot of money with your company, even if they aren't. In a time when money is tight for most people and they are spending less, I would imagine that customer retention is high on the priority list for most if not all companies. I will not be renting trucks with U-haul any longer nor storing anything in their facilities.There are many companies that would be happy to have the business.
