Everything went well EXCEPT that our reservation was rendered useless the night before our scheduled move. This isn't like watching a movie or concert, it's a house move and all other arrangements, a lot, are hinged on the truck rental. This wouldn't be workable if the reservation wouldn't be guaranteed. That's the point of making a reservation anyway. So if not for this, I would go for U-Haul again because of the great value, but this reservation issue is making me question if I will become a customer again. Thanks!Juan Sandino G.

Rude customer service. Website allowed me to book a small truck for 24h but when I showed up to pick it up, the employees there wouldn't allow me to rent it for more then a few hours despite my reservation. I even called to confirm my reservation a few days before and it didn't seem to be a problem then. They would only let me rent a van for 24h which caused major problems and forced me to make multiple trips.DANIEL K.

The worst employee (rude, sarcastic, entitled, unhelpful, impatient). When I nicely told him to be more patient and polite because it was getting increasingly uncomfortable for me, he refused and replied with poor attitude. The vehicle was also quite dirty as well and the grid seriously obstructed the drivers vision. The customer experience was even more unpleasant as the information (credit card, phone number) I put when signing up online were deleted and due to et complicated the process. Lors de la remise des clefs, le gÃ©rant a refusÃ©Â de faire le tour du vÃ©hicule avec moi car soit disant il Ã©tait neuf. Pour le retour je suis arrivÃ©e a 19h50 soit 10 min avant la fermeture mais personne n'est venu m'ouvrir alors que quelqu'un fumait dehors quelques minutes avant. J'ai donc du rendre le vÃ©hicule via l'application sans personne pour faire le tour avec moi. je n'ai pas vu de dÃ©gÃ¢ts mais le lendemain j'ai reÃ§u un appel pour un dÃ©gÃ¢t sur la porte arriÃ¨re gauche. Je n'ai pas apprÃ©ciÃ© le ton accusateur employÃ© alors que pour moi je n'avais rien a me reprocher. Et je n'ai pas non plus apprÃ©ciÃ© le fait de ne pas avoir le choix du garage pour la rÃ©paration ou avoir un 2nd avis. The employee was very aggressive. I think his name was Ram and Raum. We asked him to wear his mask while he was dealing with us and he told us we were complainers and if we wanted a truck we had to deal with it or get out. The way he talked to us was especially unacceptable. I would have left if we hadn't made plans with the truck already. I won't return here ever again after dealing with him. You should hire some professional staff, the they are impolite, and not helpful at all, they never answer the phone calls. My family and I had an awful experience in this place. They gave away our storage booked weeks before, they just tell you it's a system issue.IMAD D.

PlutÃ´t une mauvais expÃ©rience de location avec U-Haul. PremiÃ¨rement, mes piÃ¨ces d'identitÃ©s et permis de conduire franÃ§ais n'ont jamais Ã©tÃ© validÃ©s par l'enregistrement en ligne. Le check-in online me demandait une piÃ¨ce d'identitÃ© canadienne ou amÃ©ricaine. Comme je suis franÃ§aise je n'en avais pas. Le comptoir de service n'ouvrant qu'une heure plus tard, j'ai donc du attendre pour pouvoir avoir accÃ¨s Ã un membre de U-Haul en personne. Lorsque cela a Ã©tÃ© le cas, l'employÃ© qui semblait dÃ©jÃ impatient avant mÃªme que je ne commence Ã parler de ma situation m'a dit d'appeler un numÃ©ro d'urgence car mon dossier Ã©tait bloquÃ© en raison des diffÃ©rentes tentatives d'enregistrement en ligne. J'ai passÃ© plus de 20min au tÃ©lÃ©phone avec le service U-Haul pour au final qu'ils me disent qu'ils ne voyaient aucun problÃ¨me sur mon compte. C'est finalement le gÃ©rant de la succursale qui a rÃ©ussi Ã faire mon contrat. Chose que son employÃ© n'a mÃªme pas essayÃ©. Pendant que le gÃ©rant Ã©tait entrain de faire mon contrat ce dernier n'arrÃªtait pas de dire que Ã§a n'allait pas fonctionner. Heureusement que le gÃ©rant est plus persÃ©vÃ©rant et compÃ©tant que son employÃ© sinon je n'aurais pas rÃ©cupÃ©rÃ© le camion. Bref aprÃ¨s 2h de niaisage, je repars avec le camion. Au retour, je gare le camion et patiente pour faire le check-out. Le mÃªme employÃ©, toujours aussi dÃ©sagrÃ©able me dit de faire le retour toute seule en ligne parce qu'il est dÃ©bordÃ© et que sinon je dois attendre 30min. Ok... Je fais mon retour. L'employÃ© sort et me dit sur un ton toujours aussi antipathique, de changer le camion de place parce que je suis garÃ©e sur la zone des dÃ©parts. Aucune signalisation n'indiquait clairement oÃ¹ stationner le camion. Je prends sur moi et mets le camion au bon endroit. Finalement je remets les clÃ©s dans la boÃ®te Ã clÃ© avec hÃ¢te de quitter cet endroit et de ne plus jamais louer avec U-Haul. TrÃ¨s mauvaise expÃ©rience hormis le gÃ©rant de la succursale.Clara A.

Disgraceful business practices. Back in early may, I had booked a truck with U-Haul, as I was planning to move apartments at the end of June. I made sure that I booked my truck way in advance, since I was moving during peak season and I was mobilizing the help of friends and family. I compared a few companies for the same day and chose to go with U-Haul since the price was the most fitting to my budget (40$ for 6h). When I came to the office to pick up my reservation, the manager told me that U-Haul's policies changed the day I booked my truck, and the new policies is to charge the client not daily, but hourly. That surcharge is the equivalent of a whooping 464% increase of my previously quoted price. Despite my complaint and being shown my reservation that explicitly shows my price, the only answer I got from the manager is that he couldn't change the policies since it was globally enforced so the only way out is to â€œpay [the markup] or to cancel the reservation and go find another company.â€ When somebody books, months in advance, a cross-Atlantic plane ticket for 1000$, they don't expect to pay an extra 3640$ for the right to board the plane, even if it's during peak season. Same goes for a hotel night. If I'm booking a room during New Years eve for 150$, I don't expect to pay 695$ the day I check out. So why does U-Haul apply these guidelines?Aurelien T.

Overall I got great service, easy access, convenient location, easy payment. I had a couple of issues, though. I was supposed to get a month for free but the system didn't seem set up to properly to do that, and I had to contact U-Haul to make sure I would get my free month (they did honor it though). I also wanted to end my contract a week earlier but their system was down and I didn't go in during the week because of lockdown restrictions and my own sleeping habits. Nous avons loué le local 2042 UHaul Jean-Talon O de sept. 2009 à nov. 2020. Le service a toujours été impeccable. Au cours des années, nous soulignons la courtoisie du personnel à notre égard, l'excellent travail de Mme Line Vaillant pour répondre à nos interrogations et ses suggestions pour régler le PEU de problèmes survenus au cours de ces 11 années. Le seul commentaire moins positif (et pour lequel il y a peu ou pas de solution) est le peu d'espace de stationnement pour les locataires aux heures d'achalandage. Même dans ces situations, le personnel a fait son possible pour nous aider, quitte à déplacer des camions UH. The first time I moved in, September 27, the guy who did my contract was actually rude. He shouted at me and my husband to enter « one at time ». My husband and I were together. I had to go in alone. The guy was impatient. When I went back to pay my renewal yesterday, October 26, there were two different guys quiet and friendly who did not shout « one at a time ». The facility was secure, however the hallway was not well lit. The lights in the hallway to the room we rented were inconsistent.
