I was charged the $25 cleaning and twice I asked via your platform why this was the case and I am still waiting for an answer. I am considering disputing the overall charge on my credit card on that basis. The van was clean but as it rained, it seems it wasn't waterproof and my bag got wet. The plastic portion of the key broke and we could no longer turn it into the ignition. When we had an employee from the Jean-Talon location come help us he told us to call road side assistance when we were just 1 km from the location to return the rental truck. It was not our problem that there is wear and tear of the plastic portion of the key from other customers and it should not be our responsibility to find a a pair of plyers to have enough torque to turn the key nor should it be our responsibility to deal with roadside assistance. The appropriate solution to this would have been to have a spare key at the location center or even for the employee to help us turn the key with a pair of plyers or even take over since we were 1 km from the return site. It should not be the customer's responsibility to care for the upkeep of your keys and you should have spares in case an incident like this happens when there is nothing wrong with the truck and the solution is so simple. I am surprised that a big company like yours doesn't take the appropriate precautions in case of incidents like these.Sahar K.

the representative didn't know where to find my reservation details. I gave the reservation confirmation number and my contact number but waited 20 minutes for him to find the reservation. When he directed me to the storage unit, it was dirty with debris. It wasn't clean at all. The lock of the unit wasn't working. The key is not working. If I wasn't in a rush to leave town, I would look for another storage unit. Is it really safe to leave my bvelongings there? Never forget to leave in truck ALL the equipment that the customer rented. What a customer can do if a dolley is not available in the rented truck? Wait HOURS until the office opens? The man at the front desk (Jean Talon location in Montreal) was very rude, aggressive and uncooperative. He showed up late to open the location, was dismissive and unhelpful, and when I indicated I had rented a dolly, he told me it was not in my contract (it was) and I could not have one. He was unapologetic for being late and despite my only getting my truck at 9:25, told me I had to have it back by 1PM or face penalties. One of the worst customer facing individuals I have ever come across. By comparison, your employee in the yard (Jamaican or Caribbean accent) was very helpful, polite, went out of his way to help customers (I watched him do this) and he even went into the office to correct my bill when he saw I had been charged for a dolly I did not get. First of all, employ more (both meanings) qualified people at the location and on the phones (total wait time on the phone was around 6 to 7 HOURS). One of the employees working there did not understand english at all making is pretty useless when you know someone who can only speak english comes in. I had to translate for the worker because the conversation was going nowhere fast. Only one of the two people working in the office seemed to know was they were supposed to do. The wait time is enormous and the cost gouging since it's the moving period is ridiculous.liam L.

1. I think you could improve your app. Ask the customers to provide photos of the car, of the mileage and fuel BEFORE they start their trip. I had an issue with the car were I tried to add fuel twice and the 2nd time, I pump 4 times fuel but everytime it would click as if it wouldn't feel up. I have never experienced this with any car or truck before. 2. The car was not clean, there was pieces of plastic, an earplug, glasses. How can I return a clean car if it wasn't clean to begin with? This is why pictures of the interior would also be good to provide before and after the trip. 2. I would also like to fill a complain for this U-haul and recommend to not take more than they can handle. I ordered a small polly for $7 and I had to take the big one and pay 10$ because they didn't have a different one. What is the goal of ordering a truck and polly 2-3 weeks in advance? Knowing it's the moving period, there was a lot of customers, and the overwhelmed clerk was telling me to get the keys in the black box (not the instructions online) and then later, when his colleague asked, he realizes that they were in fact with him and does not apologize. The management and customer service is 3 out 10. It's moving season, be ready.Alice L.
Please have the agents at the desk respect the procedure of the mobile / self-pickup. Once we fill all the conditions online, we are supposed to just show a screen image to the desk and get our keys (this image literally says to SKIP THE LINE). The 2 employees there were making us do the (long) line. We wasted 30 minutes because of this. It was very frustrating. Upon bringing back the van 15 minutes late I was told by the tech outside that I would be charged for two periods (72 hours). However going in to the store, I did not have to pay any extra fees because I had also picked up the vehicle 20 minutes late and was within the time limit. The truck had holes in it structure, so my objects got wet! The initial milage was incorrect in the file which cause delays when doing the return. I was not instructed to click on the link sent by message to do the inspection check on the truck. There was only one employee working when we got there so even though we got there 10 minutes early before our pick-up time, we were only able to start check-in 25 minutes later since the employee was cleaning a truck when we got there, causing us to be late when we were on a tight schedule. Furthermore, I had made sure to check the U-Haul website in order to confirm that I could pay with my debit card, but when i went to pay, the employee told me I could only pay for a van with a credit card and nothing else. I was then told that I could use a debit card to pay for the larger truck, which makes no sense. However, since I do not own a credit card and we were already late, I had no other choice than to pay more than I had originally planned in order to rent a truck instead of a van. This was extremely frustrating and I felt very misled by the information presented on the U-Haul website.Lila O.

If you're driving any large vehicle, you have little to no room to maneuver. We spent more time just trying to get in/park/allow other cars going the opposite direction through in the tiny lot than the actual time inside. Overall I got great service, easy access, convenient location, easy payment. I had a couple of issues, though. I was supposed to get a month for free but the system didn't seem set up to properly to do that, and I had to contact U-Haul to make sure I would get my free month (they did honor it though). I also wanted to end my contract a week earlier but their system was down and I didn't go in during the week because of lockdown restrictions and my own sleeping habits. Au cours des années, nous soulignons la courtoisie du personnel à notre égard, l'excellent travail de Mme Line Vaillant pour répondre à nos interrogations et ses suggestions pour régler le PEU de problèmes survenus au cours de ces 11 années. Le seul commentaire moins positif (et pour lequel il y a peu ou pas de solution) est le peu d'espace de stationnement pour les locataires aux heures d'achalandage. Même dans ces situations, le personnel a fait son possible pour nous aider, quitte à déplacer des camions UH. The Manageress, Line Vaillant, is wonderful!! She goes out of her way to do the best she can for her clients and is always friendly, hepful, and generally makes the experience a really good one. I finally closed my locker of 25 years as I am moving to Ontario, and I went to Line and opened a small locker for the overflow while moving.
