I had a CONFIRMED/ guaranteed reservation through dealing with customer secure via phone. That truck was at another location - the truck was still In Portland. I then Had to scramble to find a replacement for my move, and had to pay extra since it was now a bigger truck. Why offer a guarantee if you can't meet it? And then charge me more money for a forced replacement?! That was a bad experience and this new location thankfully came to my rescue.
Claudia F.My experience at Valero was not good. The amount of fuel in the truck was incorrect and the number on the dolly was incorrect. This caused major problems when I drop the equipment off. Corey at every Muffler went above and beyond to help get my situation straightened out. The gentleman in Valero didn't even have me sign the contract and did not want to correct the paperwork. Vikhyat G.We rented a 10 ft van with 110K miles on it. It has zip ties holding up the grill, and lots of dents. About one block down the road I noticed the rear view mirror was loose. I called the rental place to see what they wanted me to do. About 20 minutes later I got a hold of uhaul. They said I could bring it back for another or use the van and they would not charge me for the mirror. 5 minutes after reporting this I got a call asking if I could bring the van to a different location and they would give me a $20 credit. They sent the new location and credit via personal text. I had assumed this was to fix the van. Putting fuel in the van and gas would shoot out the side of the collector and half of the screws were loose that mounted it to the truck. After returning the van to the new location. I got bill for the rear view mirror and no credit for delivering the van to the new location. I filed a complaint. Had a photo and video of the rear view mirror with the text with the credit from uhaul. Photo was time stamped and geolocated. Nothing changed from the complaint. They sent a receipt for the repair work. Uhaul did not even credit the $20 for changing the destination.

All in all, it took me nearly an hour just to get approved and to return the truck instead of 10 minutes total. Unlikely to use uhaul again in the future.

I can tell he deals with a fistful of assholes daily because he was very professional and thorough doing his best to ensure I had no surprises. I didn't get his name. But he had facial hair and long hair and he did an excellent job. Ge deserves to be commended. I hope you can check my contract and reward him. The guy that checked me in was cool too.

Doug W.In your attempt to maximize your profits in lieu of decent customer service by digitizing the process, this experience wasted much of my time, cost me more money than I was told it would be when I made the reservation, invaded my privacy, forced me to provide information that is none of your business, and frankly, pissed me off. You have made this process a complete nightmare. Unfortunately, I may have to do this again, but U-Haul will be my last choice.

JAVIER ANTONIO B.The uhaul system does not sync well to this location. My reservation was nowhere to be found. Thankfully the had a truck available and were able to rent it to me "without" a reservation. And then when I returned the truck, they added in the rental protection without telling me so I paid more than I expected. My original reservation had the protection waived. The people were nice, but without it being an actual uhaul location, they are limited in what they can do and this makes it easy for them to make mistakes. If uhaul wants to continue doing business through small non-uhaul locations, they should invest more in actually getting they systems to sync to rentals are as seamless as possible. Going in and finding out my reservation wasn't showing up definitely gave me anxiety as it was my last day to move out and I had everything all packed. This was one of the worst experiences I've had with uhaul.

Cecilia Q.I think you could be more up front regarding our contract. You advertise $29.99 a day so my thought is that I could have it for 24 hours. During the day I get a message that the truck is due back 8 hours after I took it out. Fortunately I finished in time and nothing came up so I returned it before 5:00 pm. Secondly you should also highlight your gas usage about the the 1/8 full and the 39.00 credit. This provision is buried in an email just when I'm about to start. Makes me feel you guys are sneaky!!

He helped to make sure I operated the van with peace of mind knowing the right use of light buttons, adjusting rear mirrors etc etc before leaving the site and did it with patience and enthusiasm. He also made perfect calculation how much gas I needed to fill before returning the van. I thought he was the manager. It was great service and will definitely recommend.
