When I rented the truck online, it said I could self check out at 7:00 am but this was not the case. I had to wait until 8:00 am for the store to open. The truck had a check engine light on for tire maintenance but the employee dismissed me. He did not have me document damage to the truck. I did this anyways. I could not document the mileage because of the check tire light. I couldn’t turn on the headlights because it was broken. Will not rent from them again!

I was charged 30 and I didn't even use the U-Haul. I ended up not needing it, It stayed park till I returned it. He tried to make me put more gas in it then was needed. I literally live less than a mile from the Valero. I didn't use up much gas at all.

The 3rd party vendor saved the day, when I showed up my original reservation was cancelled because he advised me the truck had been stolen. I never received any notification that the reservation was canceled. He allowed me to use a truck that was there for a 2:00 reservation. My original reservation was for 7:30am to 1:30pm. We had the truck returned before noon. I don't know where the mix-up was but kudos to the location for giving me an available truck to use.

For location yes, but vehicle had 2 low tires and the check engine light on the whole time- would not have felt safe using it for more than the 20 miles on side roads we needed

Our vehicle wasn't ready when our reservation started, but the customer service rep shifted the reservation so we could take a 15' truck that was assigned to someone else. I really appreciated that so I could move out of my storage unit and not incur any additional fees

The truck they tried to give us had warning lights on and they tried to charge us extra for not calling when they knew the uhaul system had been down for the entire day. They did not want to give us a receipt while we were there. Instead they wanted to send it later but email so that they could just charge our credit card extra fees. They also made us re park the truck after we returned it to lot saying that they did not have a drivers license and they wanted it in a different spot. I will not rent from this uhaul site again.

Location was fine except they forgot the dolly that was purchased so I had to wait for that. It was the experience to actually rent the truck that took over an hour working with the app, the website, and customer service teams

I was guven a truck that was just about 'empty' of gas. I asked if the truck was' gassed up' and employee said Yes. I had to go back to get gas right away Should leave trucks with at least half-tank of gas.

The app switched me from self pickup to having to get from a person. I wasn’t able to get the keys or anything and had to wait for the guy who worked at the the gas station to get there. It was early in the morning and there were homeless people and i was dropped off by an Uber. Kinda scary and still not sure why the app changed my pickup. It was even confirmed the day before.

Stop selling at that location. They do NOT check anything before they rent. They overbooked the few vehicles they do have. And they SCAM YOU out of your money. I have NEVER had such a terrible experience at any UHAUL and I have used uhaul since my very first apartment. This has completely changed my my opinion of uhaul period. I am so angry I will NEVER use uhaul again!

Outside of the truck was very dirty. Although that didn't bother me, It could some people. Inside was clean enough. Guy checking me in was on a personal phone call in the back when I came in and my husband a little bit later. I waited a solid 20 minutes until his wife came in and got him off the phone to greet us. Most importantly, when filling up the tank at the end of the trip we had been told we needed to return the truck with 1/2 tank of gas. No problem. Go to gas up and what started as slightly below 1/2 tank was still at slightly below 1/2 tank $50 later. Figured I needed to start the truck and stopped fueling. Started truck, nope, still just under 1/2 tank. So I started putting in more gas keeping the engine on. All of a sudden it jumped from just under 1/2 tank to just under 3/4 tank, no gradual increase, no in the middle. We vastly overpaid for gas in a truck that was clearly rigged to overfill/incur additional "non filling" charges. Decent enough experience ruined at the end because the final impression was that we were scammed. Not a fan at all. Don't know if it was a location issue or a UHaul issue but it really is unacceptable business practices.

The pick up and drop off situation was extremely confusing. When I booked the uhaul I set up an account because I was supposed to be able to see my reservations in there but they never came up in the website even when logged it. Then when I went to drop off the uhaul I was supposed to follow the instructions on the key drop off box but again I was supposed to long in my account and confirm my drop off but like I said I couldn’t even see my reservation in there. So I just left the key and asked for uhaul to contact me. They called me at 6:15 am…seriously. I just moved the day prior do you think I’m going to be up at 6:15. If I choose to rent a uhaul again…I will for one not be picking up at Valero and if I don’t not see my reservation in my account the next time I will not be picking up the truck or even attempting to. I will go elsewhere.

There was never a mention about an extra $20 service fee for "after hours" return. I returned the truck at 5:02pm to the gas station I rented from and because the same employee was still working that was there when I picked up the truck, I thought nothing of it. Low and behold, 20 minutes after I returned the truck I received a new receipt from U-Haul with an extra $20 service charge for after hours return. Pretty shady practice here. The employee didn't say anything about this and was sitting in the gas station watching TV when I returned it. He could have easily walked out and walked the truck at that time. I will not be using this location again.

The ramp was broken in the truck that I rented, which caused a few hours of extra time and stress. Luckily the roadside service new exactly what was wrong and was able to fix it quickly.

Receiving agent presented the most disinterested experience I can remember. Did not offer or give any proof that I had turned the van in on time. Said I'd "get an e-mail". Did not want to inspect van while I was there. He did, but it was exceptionally shallow. Did not want to hear of issues with windshield wipers (one broke and was replaced) or tire sensor lights (kept coming on and I could find no solution). Eventually said he'd "make a note" on some form. He was the only staff at the time but had only 1 other person come to store that I was aware of during my stay. After 1200 miles and $1500 it would have been nice to have had more reassurance that I had completed the trip satisfactorily.

I thought that when you return the truck, you get a receipt? Then I was waiting on a breakdown of all calculated cost in my email. Maybe I'm confused? But it would have been nice for more communication .

I scheduled pickup for a truck and dolly to be picked up at 10am. At 9:40am, the location attempted to contact me to let me know the dolly would not be available. Since I was prepping things for the move, I missed the call and found out upon arrival. I told the employee that it was a necessary tool for our move and he told us we’d have to find another one and did not offer and apology or any assistance. When I asked if he could help us locate one, he made very little effort to do so. He called two locations, one picked up and the other told him to call back in an hour. After that, he basically just stood there and could not provide any additional guidance. We explained that we were on a tight timeline, but he again did not offer assistance. After about 10 minutes and growing increasingly frustrated, we asked to get the key to the truck and we’d figure it out on our own. There was no sense of urgency from him and he expressed that he was confused as to what was going on. We told him yet again that we needed the key to the truck since we were on a tight timeline and now had to spend additional time finding the dolly required to move our belongings. Another employee walked in at about the 15 min mark and yelled over the first employee “we don’t have a dolly” to which we responded that we already knew and were frustrated because we needed it. He said “well it’s not our fault that two others had not returned the trucks and dollies by 7am as scheduled. We tried to call you.” My response was “well 20 minutes would not have given us enough time to figure it out, but maybe calling earlier when the returns weren’t there would have.” Neither of them offered an apology or any form of assistance, we just got excuses about it not being their fault and they continued to delay giving us the key. At this point, my boyfriend and I were incredibly frustrated and more stressed than we were from what had already been a difficult moving experience. After I filled out everything, the first employee continued to make excuses and we finally had to tell him very sternly to just give us the key so we could go. He finally went and grabbed the key and handed it to my boyfriend even though I was the one that has just provided my ID and paid for it. This was incredibly insulting and validated what had already been made clear, he had zero respect for me from the beginning. My boyfriend and I had to spend an extra hour tracking down a dolly in addition to extra miles on the truck and gas wasted. This further delayed us and causes others to wait because we couldn’t move the belonging were were getting from them without a dolly. I ended up dropping the truck off an hour after our original scheduled time. When I walked in to return the key, the employee that had walked in halfway through the pickup transaction was there. I told him I was there to drop the truck off and he asked if I was okay. I immediately told him that I was frustrated and stressed with this whole process and the lack of assistance provided when we expressed how important the dolly was. He then began to yell at me and told me it wasn’t their fault and that I was incredibly rude. He told me to check my phone and figure out how to return the truck myself after taking the key off the counter. Every bit of calm I had in me left my body and I lost it on him. He had no interest in listening to me and continued to scream over me. He also told me that U-Haul was very difficult and I should have known not to use them, so it was really my fault. I told him he shouldn’t be a contractor for them if it is that difficult and walked out. If you are looking for a place to rent a U-Haul, I’d advise you to avoid this place at all costs. The employees are rude, offer no assistance when needed, and will blame you for their inability to do their job. I will not be back for a U-Haul or for gas. I’ve also spread the word to others that use their gas station to go down the street instead. U-Haul, I strongly advise you pull your contract with this horrible business or you risk losing customers permanently.
