Online I wanted to order a 24' truck, but was only given the option to rent a 20' truck, which was confirmed. When we arrived to pick up our 20' truck, we were told they only had a 17' truck. Somewhere along the line of communication, there was a breakdown. I really could have used the 20' truck.

On August 8, 2017, I pre-reserved your 8’ truck online to be retrieved at your Western Avenue location (712023) which is very close to my residence, for the convenience and to avoid the lines; however, this was not the case. On August 9, 2017, around 11 am, I phoned U-Haul to make sure the truck I ordered would actually be available for my pickup time at 3:00 pm; she confirmed it would be. I arrived at the Western Avenue (712023)U-Haul truck rental location about 5 minutes early to retrieve my rental truck. There was only one cashier Leonard Cash Jr. who was assisting another customer. While processing the other customer’s order he asked me if I was picking up a vehicle, I told him I had pre-reserved a truck online, he then proceeded to pull up my reservation on his computer, while still assisting the other customer he was also working on my reservation. He contacted the guys outside for the availability of the truck I reserved. He told me to relocate my personal vehicle to the customer parking location and when I returned my reservation would be complete. When I returned to the office he was still working with the same customer. As I waited another customer came in to return his rented truck, so I had to wait and wait and wait while having to endure the customer’s profanity filled phone calls. I pointed out to the cashier that I reserved online so I could avoid the lines. He told me he had to complete the new customer’s return order since this was the truck they were going to give to me. So still I waited and waited and waited, only to find out that the customer returning the truck had some sort of issue with his paperwork and was told to return. Finally, after waiting almost 18 minutes, Leonard gave me my paper work for my truck rental at 3:13 pm and instructed me to go outside to see the guys that would assist me further. I gave the paperwork to the guy outside and soon after he gave them back to me and told me to walk around and inspect the vehicle that was just returned and was completely dirty. I was shocked they were renting me this dirty truck that had not even been serviced before handing it over to me. I inspected the vehicle and was left waiting and waiting and waiting yet again, while the guy assisting me was running all around like he was looking for something, so I asked him what was wrong and he said the keys to the truck were missing. It appeared the customer that returned the vehicle took the keys with him, so I went inside to yet again wait and wait and wait in their air conditioned office while they tried to figure out what to do. They finally decided to rent me the truck that was sitting in their bay area which was the truck that was originally confirmed for me prior to the customer returning his truck and leaving with the keys. Leonard arrived and we walked around to inspect this truck for damages. I discovered a big dent on the right rear side. After signing the paperwork, I got into

The process for after hours rental was a bit frustrating, keys were not in the lockbox and trucks that were dropped off the night before were blocking the exit. Had to wait for staff to arrive in order to get keys and have them move the trucks blocking the exit.

When I rented the truck, I emphasized that I would be driving over 2100 miles and wanted a good truck that had been checked out. When the guy showed me the truck, he said well the trucks come in from everywhere and we don't really check them out. So the 15 ' truck I ended up with had issues with the auto-trans, it would hang up going from 2nd, to 3rd, to overdrive and would get stuck for 5 to 10 seconds at 3000 to 4000 rpm before engaging gears. The truck was 2/3 full and I got about 8 to 9 miles/gal, not happy, as a result spent over $750.00 in gas. So, what can you do, make sure your trucks are working correctly and are more gas efficient.

Only had 1 issue regarding the express pick up. The code for the lock box didn't work however the service agent used a key. Only delayed the process a few minutes. Thank you for the express service very convenient.

Make sure the locks work and the tires are good. This year my 17ft truck wasn't there, the lock was broke and had to return to get another one. hen found out they are universal. Last year had to exchange trucks after it was half loaded because the tire was bad. Just inspect each truck. Lives matter!

Phone center for after-hours returns info-wise could be more plugged-in in terms of documenting real-time status of rental returns, especially exact time of return. Phone staff and site staff were extremely courteous and helpful/ efficient otherwise. (Incl. Christian who worked the yard and the African American bro who worked the desk the days I bought boxes and a few days later when I picked u my rental, I don't remember his name).

The Mexican outdoor guy was very unfriendly, unprofessional and unwilling to smile nor greed you politely. This things reflects on your company reputation. U-Haul and many companies in California need to select and train their employees to show appreciation and respect! Customer doesn't have to suffer to this kind of bad behavior. Company like yours spent millions of $$$ on marketing due to competition. Well, you may win your customers by hiring and training the right attitude and behavior when it comes to customer service. I believe this is the cheaper way to earn your customers. Not disrespect them. It's the only logical way of thinking. Also, please hire someone who can speak English and understand what customer service means. Wake up U=Haul!! This is BAD business!!

I called the day before my reservation to authorize my friend to be a driver and to pick up the open bed trailer without me. Everything was great until the day of reservation. I had reserved the trailer bed at 11am. My friend came at 10:45am and was told to wait until check-in time, which was totally fine. It took them more than an hour to do a ten-minute hookup. I had several calls and confusion about if my friend who was already onsite was going to pick up the reserved trailer bed. The lady who called me and started to question me immediately when I picked up in a stern and undermining voice saying, "Are you going to cancel your reservation? YOU are 45 minutes late." Which I had replied that my friend is already there and waiting for them to be done with his car. On his side (which was onsite) there was confusion on if HE had the right reservation and told him that he didn't have a reservation and that he needed to check in again while they were working on his car to put the trailer on. Absolutely ridiculous! Will never use the services at this location.

This is not the first time that I have had trouble with Uhaul. I had the truck less than 2 hours. They took an $80 deposit from my account. When I bought the truck back, they should have credited my account for $ 48.21. On Friday the 19th when my account was not credited, I called my bank who told me to try and solve it with the merchant before disputing it. I called Uhaul customer service who told me it is not unusual for them to not close the transaction. Furthermore, she gave me this long number 74445007138200119324394 and told me that I must call my bank back to have the money credited. My bank thought that was outrageous, and told me that they don't get approval numbers from merchants. I am now disputing the whole deposit with my bank. Since when are customers required to do the leg work of a company after service? Also the fact that the customer service agent mentioned that it's not unusual for them not to close a transaction after service is ludicrous! All this after having a problem with Uhaul earlier this month to which I was still unsatified? Not fair to the customer.

I had Reserved mi rental a day before- on the day of rental the unit was not available i had reschedule 5 different times moving from 1 location to 5 different locations. From 8 am until 12.00 was able to get mi rental. and had to drive over 4 hrs to multiple stores to have the trailer available. I had this problem 4 times already which i feel very upset due to my family was waiting for me to return to be able to take them on camping day....

There's nothing more you can do. I've rented here numerous times, and it's become my favorite place for rentals. The staff is always prompt, professional and extremely helpful. This says a lot for where this lot is located. They operate much better than some of the U-Haul lots near the South Bay area. I've never had an issue at this location and that means a lot to me when I'm spending money. Thanks for this opportunity.

In general uhaul is littered with hidden fees and shitty service. I generally don't think it's the employees fault, I get the impression that it's coming from the top down. My biggest complaint is that I couldn't ask for one furniture pad, I had to rent a plastic bag of five and once I returned I was informed that if I didn't refold and pack the shitty plastic bag of furniture pads that I would be charged $25. It's a perfect example of how bad the hidden fees are. All in all I was charged aver $100 for my 4 hour trip in a "$20" a day vehicle. Oh and I was also told that if I didn't return the van within the estimated time Frame I gave that I would be charged for a second day despite the fact that a one day rental is a 24 hour rental. So, in other words, by having the decency to give the rental location an estimate of when is have their vehicle back to them I risked more bullshit fees. All this just to borrow a junk van. I hope to one day be able to say I never need your services again. But as there isn't much in terms of a competitor for you, the only appropriate term I can think of for this feeling you give me is "I'm fucked." Thanks for listening.

The lady in the inside was very friendly, fast,and sufficient. The guy on the outside didn't say too much but also seemed very nice. The location was very clean and organized. The truck on the other hand was dirty on the outside and inside but it smelled very good. I would rent here again and also refer friends.

Employees should be more attentive to customers. Employees need to better communicate with each other when directing a customer with obtaining rental equipment and signing a contract. I had to go inside and outside the office three times before I was able to complete my transaction because, of communication amongst employees. Also, when I returned uhauls equipment, two days later, I stated to the employee that assisted me that, I was stuck in the snow storm that hit the previous night on hwy 138. And during the standard road check for vehicles with chains, highway patrol stated that the trailer was improperly secured and secured it. And that I did notice the difference in the haul. And since I did not have chains and my vehicle is not 4 wheel drive, I was stuck and my go cart, in the midst of the night and morning became missing off the trailer. I had 2 four wheelers and a go cart on the trailer. But, I did not notice it was gone until the morning. The employee laughed and stated, that he had seen the snow and people stranded on the news, did I want my balance charged to credit card. And that he would go inside and get my receipt. I don't think putting my safety at risk with improperly connecting the trailer and then dismissing it so callously is right.

There is only one person assisting. There needs to be more helo especially on the weekends. When i took the truck back. I was sitting there waiting for someone for about 20 minutes i finally had to go inside to get help and he was still busy.

The employee pulled out the wrong truck, blocking the driveway. Then he had to go get the right one, but did not get my appliance dolly I had reserved. Parking lot was a disaster, dirty and filthy. I will never return there.

I I was very impressed when I called and said I was going to be late in returning the truck. She told me to bring the truck anyway and put the key in the Dropbox. I was so happy because I didn't want to keep it overnight. I will be using it next year because I am moving in April

I would like more cargo vans which have the rear view mirror cameras installed for easier maneuvering through traffic for the driver of the van. I also still request California license plates on the U-Haul equipment. Most of the rental trucks have Arizona license plates.

This place was for lack of a better word, rancid. The truck was at least 20 years old and smelled. And then in the end after I cleaned the inside and back I get charged a 25$ cleaning fee for the blankets not being neatly folded. That's a joke. I rent from you guys at least once a month,sometimes 3 times in a month and I've never been so disappointed with your service. Then on top of that you have the gull to charge me a cleaning fee for that filthy, old truck.

You need to hire more people to keep the equipment nice and clean. Sometimes the vans or trucks there very clean, the windshields looks terrible when I drive them. The vans smells badly. Truck rental experience was good - especially because of the actions of the manager Iris. But as part of my move I rented storage from Uhaul and I was not only let down but it caused me a bunch of other problems. Iris fixed some of them. So she gets 5 stars but the overall uhaul experience gets 2.

The truck, its windows and mirrors were filthy. When I asked the idiot who helped me why wasnt the windows or mirrors clean, he just smiled and walked away. Just because the location is in the hood does not mean the uhaul company do not need to train your associates. You never know who you may have to assist and you have idiots representing your company.

UHaul had multiple errors. After changing to an earlier loading date, the guaranteed arrival date wasn`t able to be changed. Then, after I dropped the loaded box off, UHaul somehow cancelled my order.

I had to reschedule my movers because uhaul failed to have the boxes ready for pickup. Uhaul, also bolted the boxes shut and took a long time getting them off when I was ready to unload.
