Claimed I did not full the truck. When returned, uhaul employee confirmed we had it filled to the correct amount. Now, 16 days later, they took 65$ from my account. Contacted then and they claim they did not take the money from my account. Now, I have to wait god knows how long to get my money back.

Ensure that more effort is made into providing the size of vehicle people reserve. We reserved a 14' truck which was already bigger than we needed and ended up with 26' truck instead. We were notified of this change only 24 hours in advance of our move. Not much we could do.

I often help people with their moving needs and I send them to Uhaul. However, this time I was moving me. Thing is this time the vehicle wasn't as clean as usual. Several hundred meters down the road I thought I smelled sewer gasses! I was on a tight time line so I drove with the windows down and finished what I needed to do. As I was loading my boxes I noticed a box of moth balls wedged in the wall which I pointed out when I returned the van.

WE just did not get a professional warm feeling, Had to go back for pad lock key. With this being the beginning of the journey home to the State of Arizona, The confidence was just not felt that it was a trip worthy vehicle. Before we got out of the Province of Nova Scotia the Engine light came on and remained on for the duration of the trip. Also I had to put oil in the Truck after the light came on in the state Nebraska. However this may be normal for such a distance of travel however, Perhaps the staff at the pickup location could have gone over a few things in more detail.

Staff was nice but location could not offer us the truck we had booked in advance. We did not know until day before we were not receiving the correct truck. We would have booked elsewhere had we known this when we made our reservation.

Honour your reservation guarantee. The company changed the time of my booking less than 24 hours before the pickup time and the manager at this location told me the $50 compensation for the reservation guarantee didn't apply because they gave me a different time to pick up the truck. That is nonsense. The guarantee is not worth very much if it allows the company to change key details of your booking without compensation.

The after hours drop off where you have to sign in and complete a lot of tasks is very inefficient. In addition it requires a cell phone that has multiple abilities (location gps communication, camera, data on cell, etc). This should either be clearly described when picking up uhaul or should have a simple option that does not require ALL of these steps.

Everything was good but the truck had a lot of play in the wheel very sloppy on the road due to the play in the stearin.... also the window trim seal was coming undone before I got to Moncton NB and I had to fix it to continue my drive .... I couldent swap trucks cuz I had no time to repack a new truck due to my wife was there waiting for me to arrive with the stuff .... everything else was grate the customer service we top notch..... thanks for everything

The location is ok but the website had 3 issues. It repeatedly tried to make me click other offers from other businesses before it would process my request to book a vehicle. Then when the online booking finally worked, the vehicle i booked was not available at the location the website said it would be so I had to change to an inconvenient location. Then when I returned the vehicle using the online process after hours, it tried to increase the mileage fee and I had to click 'I don't agree to the charges'. Some serious problems with the online service.

Give them some info on what is need when renting a trailer. ball size plug type etc. when I got there to rent a car trailer these were things that I needed and did not have with me. but had them in my inventory. so I needed to buy a plug or get my plug brought to me, would have saved a trip and less stress when picking up the trailer. The people working at this location were very good to deal with but little thing make the difference.

I was shocked to see a $30 service charge for fill up on the vehicle I rented. No one told me that when I rented. There was just over 1/4 tank in the vehicle when I picked it up and just under 1/4 tank when I returned it. Did you charge the previous renter $30 also for service that was not done? So do you charge all your customers $30 if they do not add fuel? How many times a day are you gouging customers?

I drove home and called and after being disconnected twice after long waits and calliing for the 3rd time I was told to pick up on windmill rd if I wanted a rental. I booked a 26 foot truck and was confirmed for it. Then I was told I could only get a 17 ft truck. i checked in the day before my move and was told I still had a 17 ft truck which I confirmed. On moving day I was late getting there and in spite of my having confirmed the day before in person they had given away the 17 ft truck. They only had a 26 ft truck available...not so impressed. The staff were very friendly and helpful but the whole process seems a little flawed.

The situation was confusing to say the least. Since I didn't have any paperwork due the system being down. The issue was with the extra kms. I was being charge for them. The women who call the night before told us their would be no charge for the extras kms since we were picking up in a different location. When we arrived at Dartmouth there was a charge. We had some arguments but the manager took care of it. He was very professional. Overall the situation was handled well.

Have someone at the return desk so don't have to wait until the person doing the reservation for a client is through.. There was a woman in the parking lot that we got to go check in the truck instead of waiting inside while the young woman was trying to register a client for a reservation and kept asking someone questions.. She was not a very knowledgable agent to habe working in the reservation area..

The young lady who looked after me was polite, professional and very knowledgable about what I wanted and needed. One suggestion: maybe 2 or 3 employees could have been looking after customers. The above lady was the only one dealing with customers - the wait time was over 45 minutes!!!!!!

The truck we ordered was avaiable on time and was clean. We had no issues eith driving it or returning it. However we were advised that the truck would come with a dolly and moving blanketd. As such we did not order extras. To our dismay, there were no moving blankets or dolly on the truck when we picked it up and we were left to scramble and figure out our move without them.

I was very disappointed with our first ever experience with uhaul. I called to confirm my order of a 17' truck three separate times and when my husband went to pick it up they said the only thing they had left was a 27'. My husband was not comfortable driving the 27', but was told that that was all they could offer us. We were also overcharged $5 for the moving pads and dolly, when the sign above the desk says you get both for $10 not $15. Upon returning the truck the young girl that served me did not seem to care at all about the issue I brought forward. The customer service was awful. If we ever need a truck again we will be looking elsewhere.

I booked the rental on my credit card from my PEI home. My grandson had to pay cash since I wasn't in Dartmouth at pickup with the card - wish I had been told about that in advance. I extended the rental by telephone for an extra day and went into UHaul Charlottetown to pay. I was rudely informed "You are in Charlottetown" and nothing further. I said I was aware of that. Next statement "The rental is in Dartmouth". I also agreed with that. Next comment "We can't do anything for you". That may be true but I resent the way I was treated considering I am a regular customer, not that previous leasing should be required to be treated decently.

Stop changing pickup/return times on customers, this can cause a huge inconvenience in many ways. I expect a call if something isn't working schedule related, not a random email or text confirming a change you suddenly made.

My reservation had many back and forth issues. In the end I discovered that it was due to a 24 hr rental policy. Had I known that earlier, I could have made a better plan. I invite you to listen all the calls associated with my reservation 88229037. It was tough not to be frustrated. That asside. I did get a truck from another location. It was in rough shape, but it did the job. Thanks, as they say, all is well that ends well.

The rental process is a bit confusing, when you phone and get a call centre, then have to call a scheduling centre, then go to the location. I was honestly not certain what vehicle I was actually going to end up with. In the end it worked out, though the reservation agent was not correct about what vehicle I would have. And the waiting on hold took about 40 minutes. The manager at the location was my check out rep and was fantastic to deal with. Likewise, the gentleman who I returned the van to (I don't have his name, but he appears to be of East Indian heritage). Extremely polite and efficient. There was a very long line today and the staff were working as quickly as they could. Some customers were not understanding but the staff was great.

Too expensive. You guys advertise as cheap but ends up being a lot. Also the set up for reserving online is complicated and confusing, just write some code that properly knows when trucks are available instead of calling and saying "your reservation is for a completely different time then you chose!"

The truck I was provided was very dirty inside and the oil change light was on. The gas level marked on the contract was wrong so that needed to he corrected. Staff are good but need to streamline the process when it's busy so people don't have to wait for 45 minutes after doing online check in.

Odometer was reading higher than what file showed. I was assured it wouldn't affect my rates, but was then charged $100 extra dollars for the 200km trip I took, when it was really only 20km. Now I have to go through an objection process and who knows if/when I get refunded.

I called on Aug 25th to reserve a trailer for a 11:30 pickup on Aug 26th. I had the clerk read the reservation back to me on the phone to confirm and it was correct. When I arrived to pick up the trailer it turned out the person booked me on the 25th instead of the 26th and my reservation was cancelled. They did find a trailer for me on the 26th but now I find out my credit card has been charged twice for the rental.

The wait time was very long due to a very long line up. The staff was efficient in putting people through but there wasn't enough on at the time. Staff at this location both inside and out, are always very helpful and Customer Service Orientated.

The self service option is not convenient. It takes a while to go through all of the steps and verification. The worst of it all is that I still had to go inside to get the keys for the truck from a rental associate. This made no sense and wasted my time.

My comments are directed for your location in St Stephen, New Brunswick where the owner/manager went out of his way to assist me in getting into a winding road by allowing me to leave the auto trailer and my SUV at his location overnight while I took the U HAUL truck to load/unload moving boxes. He took the vehicle off the trailer as well as securing it down when reattached to the truck, not to mention that he greased the tie down mechanism so it functioned much more smoothly without my asking. You might place this comment on that particular website as I was not able to.

Hi, I first need to know what your policy on paying for my bookings, can I pay with more than one card/transactions? If so I find that hard to believe and surprising. My partner drove to our location to pick up our cube van, when he tried to pay the price was up $100 from my online quote, one visa had 500 on it and the mastercard has a one thousand dollar spending limit per day. I was under the impression that my bill would be 944, but it was 1044 when we tried to pay. They sent us away since they said they could not accept two credit cards. When we went back to pick up the van it was left on the "tow" function; my boyfriend was unaware of this function, what it did or how to turn it off. After he had driven through NB blowing through way more gas than anticipated the passenger figured out the tow function. To no explain the functions of a vehicle to a customer seems unsafe and thoughtless, especially since the function can affect the gas. When we went to load our truck we found that there was no dolly inside, so I called and asked if it was on our order; the lady said yes we would have to go pick it up. Who would be responsible for my gas, bridge fare and time it took to return for something that should have been in the truck and checked off the invoice by the employee giving us our rental. I also asked her why my internet booking was less than the actual booking, during this process she told me not to yell at her while I was asking questions, she kept putting me on hold without notifying me, once when I told her I wasn't yelling would she like it I started, she put me on hold again. When I asked her who would bring my dolly she said no one, they don't deliver them, when I asked about me having already paid the dolly she put me on hold and another woman told me the dolly would be removed from my bill. I often use uhaul, this is my second long distance move in two years, I must say the first experience was much better.

I reserved a 15' truck online but when I went to pick it up they only had a 20' truck to give us. This made our moving experience more difficult because we had to maneuver in and out of small parking lots. Furthermore the millage and gas amounts that were on our rental agreement were inconsistent with the actual amounts in the truck. The gentleman who handed over the truck to us made a note on the rental agreement adjusting the millage and gas which he told us simply to put in the box after hours with the key so that we would not be overcharged. Of course the next morning I received my statement via email and I was over charged by about $55.Then I Tried calling the location but was put straight through to customer service and told that it would be 72 hours to process my claim. Absolutely unacceptable, I should have been able to speak to someone at the location to sort it out straight away. I spent about two hours trying to get in touch with the actual location but I kept getting put through to customer service.

Remind customers to lock all doors if they return a vehicle after closing time. Most people are accustomed to having all doors lock when they lock their drivers side door. They need to manually lock all doors.

Computer malfunctions slowed things considerably and I ended up being charged for the estimate on my credit card which was fine since the debit function was not cooperating. However I paid the bill with debit so now I have to call and straighten this little thing out. I know it will be fine. And this is not a complaint; just what happened..banking machines not working at a business is rarely the fault of the business. Thank You U-haul.

We were pleased with the staff, and the truck worked just fine. Our disappointment was in the fact that we had reserved a 10ft truck, quite a while ago in fact, and instead were given a 20 ft truck. We were given a "discount" of $55 to make up for the extra fuel that would be needed, but on a journey of 3000 Kim's, that doesn't amount to much! What's the point of a reservation if you don't get the equipment you reserved? Your own slogan is " the right equipment..". We didn't get the right equipment. We feel some compensation would be appropriate.

Before planning my move with U-Haul, I searched for reviews online and learned that the U-Haul call centre, as well as the website portal for rentals, was unreliable. I was advised to, whenever possible, direct call the location I was going to be dealing with, or better yet, to physically go and talk to someone at the location. I found this to be painfully true. Every time I was re-routed to the head office line, some part of my reservation or information would be lost. I learned pretty quickly to call twice and double check that the changes made on my first call were captured and reflected in my rental reservation. They often weren't - at this specific location, often times when we said we would be there at a certain time to load, we would show up and the boxes would still be at the back of the storage compound (this even happened when we would show up a short time after we said we would, so it was not a case of us showing up early) There's also a huge, HUGE issue with different U-Haul moving & storage locations not being able to communicate with each other. For a company that deals in one-way moves at any distance, it seems absolutely insane that my Halifax location couldn't look at the options I would have to deal with my U-Boxes at the receiving location in Calgary. The service rep helping me actually said to just send them there and call/visit once I was in Calgary to see what options they have. When it's all of my worldly possessions that I'm moving, that kind of uncertainty is very stressful. Despite these issues with rental details being missed almost reliably, and the abysmal state of communication across the U-Haul network, my stuff did arrive perfectly on time and in good condition. Also, please do your research and reading on how to use U-Haul equipment. They are a self-serve establishment and if you don't know the next thing about what you are doing, they simply aren't set up to provide help through every step of the process. I found the U-Haul online instructions and video tutorials to be very helpful. I would suggest anyone using U-Haul for a long distance move like I did to take the same advice I was given—be on the phone with your ACTUAL U-Haul location constantly, and do everything you can to follow up and ensure your needs are being met. Don't worry about being annoying when it's your stuff on the line. I would also suggest always calling before heading out to access your U-Boxes or rental equipment. If you don't mind having to plan, orchestrate, and follow up for everything, go for it—the price U-Haul charged me for 2 U-Boxes (storing AND shipping) was almost half of the cost of renting a U-Haul moving truck, and a fraction of the cost I was quoted from all-inclusive moving companies. In summation: If price is your bottom line, U-Haul can't be beat. Just be prepared to manage EVERYTHING.

When I took the truck 26' the gentleman who rented it to me said it was at 1/16 of a tank and said I needed to bring it back at 1/4 and gave me a $6.80 dollar credit. I only realized after when I filled up to half which cost $100..... 150L tank. So 3/16 of 150L which equals 28L of fuel. Pretty Sure I got screwed on this deal. Lawrence MacLellan

I have a small rental - just one appliance dolly. There was a part of the process I thought was a little weird that I'd like to address. When I first reserved and picked up the dolly in-store, I was given a rental agreement and was asked to use my visa on the payment terminal. I confirmed the amount and entered my pin. The 'transaction' was approved and everything was good to go! Then when I returned I was told that I still needed to pay - this felt weird because I thought that I already had when I used my visa on the pay terminal earlier that day. It was a very small thing, but it was a small negative interaction where I had to look up the agreement on my email and the customer service rep had to show me in fine print on the document where it said no payments had been made. My recommendation to avoid this "weird" feeling of being asked to pay twice (even though the first interaction wasn't a payment) is to train your CSRs clearly to tell the customer that the first transaction is just a "hold" on your card, for the reservation and that they will need to complete the payment when they return. If I had a clearer expectation then my experience might have avoided that one small oddity. Thanks - hope this was helpful :)

I gave my credit card and info to the man who took my order. But then we had to do it all again when my driver showed up. If I handn't been available he couldn't have got the truck which would have caused lots of problems. You even sent me a confirmation nut the next day the lady couldn't find it or didn't bother to look

Your trailers need an adjustible jack on the front of them so a person can raise and lower the ball catch to whatever height they need. I had to borrow my neighbours car jack to lift the trailer up to ball on my hitch. And then I nearly blew my back out taking it off my truck when I dropped the trailer off. Thanks

In the past two months I've used uhaul twice. The first time my rental was given to another customer and i was forced to use something else i was not prepared for with a tight time conatraint and of course no record of me making a reaervation in your system. The second time i booked way in advance to prevent this from happening and called to check in to make sure everything was correct a few days before. However it was not and this is almost comical. Somehow my reservation was set for Lynn Massachusetts instead of dartmouth nova scotia. Luckily the error was corrected in time and the pickup/drop off went without a problem. What can you do to improve for the next customer: Perhaps call them maybe a day or two in advance to confirm their rental or have a contingency plan in case what happened to me happens to them. It would be nice if the process was expedited in some way if (a) the customer has rented from U-Haul recently and (b) the item(s) being rented are less risky/less expensive. In my case, I rented a small trailer a few weeks ago, and I was renting one again for one day and I feel like U-Haul spent more in labour on me than I paid for the mere $15 rental.

Trailer tires had over 70lb of air in them. Tires called for 50lb max. Good thing I checked them before leaving the lot. Trailer would have bounced all over the road, maybe even caused an accident. But trailer was in good repair otherwise.

The woman at the counter was fabulous- friendly & informative. Absolutely no complaints about her! The sole reason I rented the vehicle was so my daughter could take her road test for her class 4 license. This is a requirement for school - if she doesn't obtain her class 4 - she forfeits her seat. She was not even able to take her test that was scheduled for 8:30 Aug 3rd, 2017 because the truck didn't have a left front blinker on the drivers side. It was not even burnt out - yhe bulb was not even the socket! You would think that the rental vehicles were properly inspected before they are driven off the lot! Now I have to rent the truck again this week so she can try to get her license once again.

The initial person we dealt with was very helpful and an efficient worker. The parking lot was a sh*t show and took quite a while to actually get my rental. It seemed like a free for all with the others waiting for their rentals. It was an hour after my pick up time before I left the lot. Once i received my rental I received no direction... just had the keys given to me. The van smelled gross. I couldn't figure out how to adjust the side mirrors so was driving blind until I pulled over and adjusted them by hand which took considerable time.

I was treated very courteously, the agent was friendly and explained everything clearly. Our wait was minimal for a Saturday morning. I guess my only suggestion would be that the staff make sure to do a walk around the vehicle with the customer. Ours didn't and I forgot to until we got to the residence . I noticed there were dents on both sides of the cargo part of the vehicle . I took pictures and then immediately called the location. I got the call center and explained things and the agent assured me she would make a note to my file so that it wouldn't be reflected on my rental. Overall I received excellent service. Thank you , you made a difficult transition much easier.

4 days ago I called James (902) 478 9889) here in Halifax to discuss all the issues we experienced during this rental. I left a message on his phone but have not received a reply yet. In all the rental experience was far below my expectations and I feel U-Haul owe me at least a 25% discount on the rental to compensate for lost time and additional fuel cost that resulted from the wait on the side of the road for KAL Tire to arrive. I had ordered a 15 ft truck for the sole purpose that anything bigger would not go up my driveway. Being upgraded isn't bad but when you know it won't fit up your driveway it's a different story. What would have taken 1 hour with a 15 ft truck took 3 with the 26 ft. I understand it's a busy season and such but I believe making the smaller trucks more available would be better. I'm not one to complain but this was my first uhaul experience and maybe my last. Thanks

Sort out the confusing prompts on your website. You quote distance travelled costs in c/Kms but the space for entering one's estimate of intended distance calls for MILES. This is Canada. U haul being a USA company is no excuse. You should provide the appropriate measures and be consistent. My understanding of you quote was way off the actual because of this error on you site. I don't understand why one day rentals are for 6 hours rather than the full day, except as a blatant cash grab knowing that most moves will take longer than 6 hours for two people to load/drive/unload. We were charged a two day rental for returning the truck 30 minutes late (1530 vice 1500)...ironically, this lateness was because the moving help we attempted to hire through UHaul never showed up, nor called to indicate that they would not show up (repeated calls to the provided number also went unanswered). So much for being "reliable" and "professional" as per the website.

Overall, I was impressed & happy and would go back. Check-out was easy...check in was difficult. I did the set check in on my phone. I spent 10 mins walking up and around looking for the truck. Couldn't find so I got another truck and found that fast. When I went to get the keys the worker could not find and said I will need another truck. After about 5 mins he found the keys, thankfully. If a person rents an open trailer, 6'X12', with a drop ramp at the back, would you think that the drop gate is 6' wide? I did. Train your customer service people on how to deliver effective service not lip service. - first I booked on line with a Reservation person to have a trailer hitch installed. I attended at schedule time and was told they did not install hitched on Saturdays and then had to re-book three weeks later and change vacation plans as well. - I called on line to try and order a bike carrier as the first customer service person told me I should prior to the install as I could receive a discount - after six agents, transfers and hangup, I still did not reach anyone who would order a bike carrier. One person did not know that U-Haul carried the bike carrier and I needed to walk them through the UHaul website to where they were located. - when I finally got to the install and explained the concern the young lady attempted to state that it was not UHauls fault and that I must have been mistaken. - If I could have found another location to get the job done I would have. - I dont think UHual is so large that they can afford to loose even one customer or receive terrible ratings. Good location, lots of choices, but my issue with my rental is I said no to the insurance and my boyfriend went and picked up the Uhaul with his truck and come to find out they charged me for insurance after we said no. Not happy at all about this and I was told I could not get my money back because I needed to get it taken off within 30 minutes from pick up. Not happy with my end experience at this location.

rented a 4x7 open trailer but when we arrived to pick up the equipment, found that the trailer was only 38 inches wide not 48 as indicated, had to drive 45 minutes back to Dartmouth and exchange for another trailer which when measured was the advertised 48 inches, apart from that the service was good.

I was slammed with a damage charge of 150$ stating a dent in bumper. I did not hit the vehicle anywhere and dropped it in afterhours. I even bought the insurance of 15$ and If I had slammed the vehicle anywhere, I would have asked for insurance claims, but I did not and I see this damage charge on my final bill. Please let me know where to register the complaint.

as a Uhaul regular user this last experience was the worst of my visits over 30 years , the customer care representive was poorly trained and quoted non policy costs as was the case when he stated to return the gas guage with more than the truck left -at 1/8 th he expressed it needed to return with 1/4 I drove a total of 17 km ,he requested a minimum of $15 or he will top it off at Uhaul gas charge , at no time did he explain the advantages or dissavantages of a 4 hour compared to 24 hr rental, had I been informed that it was the same charge my day's task would not have been rushed, the very reason why folks like myself use the Uhaul convience. he was rude, and unfriendly that being said we all have bad days, just don't pass that on to customers. The pick up in Dartmouth was fine. The tires were out of balance though. The issue was that we were supposed to pick up at 8 am in Kentville ("guaranteed" to quote the email I received two days prior) and at 730 as e we were getting ready to go get it they called and informed us they did not have the 26 foot truck I booked in April. Could we get it at 730 pm? Uhhh no. Not when we needed to move today. The only possible truck was 15 ft... not happening. Someone from a uhaul office called back a few minutes later and offered us pick up in Dartmouth which only worked because my father happened to be coming from HRM to help us move. He had no issues with the Dartmouth location but we are very, very unimpressed with having our "guaranteed" truck not only unavailable but also only being informed less than 1/2 hour before we were due to pick it up. If I could rate the Kentville location I'd give it 0 stars.

I could tell she was a little upset. I did the best I could and I would have been faster if I had the furniture dollies that I asked for. Overall it wasn't that bad and I will be using you again.

I drove 2 hours to pick up this particular trailer, confirmed the day before that it was available and what the requirements were to tow it. After arriving and hooking it up I found that the lights didn't work, it was an issue with the trailer's wiring. They hooked the trailer to my vehicle and tried renting to me even though it was a known problem and the trailer was already mark to be repaired with a red tag. The assistant on the lot told me it had a wiring issue after I asking him if a bulb was out. He was not surprised it didn't work. Why waste my time knowing it doesn't work.... The manager then proceeded to tell me my car could not tow this particular trailer and that it didn't meet the requirements. This appeared to be an effort to avoid repairing the trailer at this time by offering me a smaller one. Because I need that specific trailer and went way out of my way to get it, I was forced to prove my car's ability dispite already confirming it. The manager went from one accuse to another trying to get me to agree, but finally a mechanic looked at my car stating that's it is fine and able to tow it. After wasting time and dealing with that, I then had to wait for nearly 2 more hours to get the trailers lights working. What a horrible experience, I found that the manager did not want to listen and only wanted to argue her opinion. She was looking for the easy solution and did not want to fix the trailer. I could go on but I think you get the jest of it, worst management I've ever encountered. I can't believe I had to pay to put up with that nonsense

The whole process involved in renting a trailer remains inefficient and wastes a lot of time. The online check-in makes little difference; one still has to stand in line, then gets sent out to have the trailer hooked up, then have to return to complete the paperwork. It can be much improved by digitization and providing your staff with ipads, so that the whole process can be completed in the lot and the contract emailed. If a paper copy is required or preferred this can be picked up in the office. Please, PLEASE improve this! Most of your customers have limited time over the weekend to get their stuff done and wasting an hour or more just to get the trailer is just not acceptable. I give this feedback everytime I rent a trailer from you but so far it fell on deaf ears.

The trailer we rented was a 5x8 cargo trailer that Uhaul set a recommended speed limit of 55mph however the tires that were put on were rated for a lower speed. We took this trailer across the country.

They tried to tell us this was not the right location but that was location we had booked almost two months in advance and we had not received any emails that it would be a different place to pick up. They did not have right size truck so gave us way bigger truck which was harder to drive, used more gas, was hard to pack to make sure stuff would not move around. There were several trucks the right size in the lot but said they were for local moves only. Truck smelled of cigarette smoke but they said if we did not take that one they could not help us.

I waited in line at the counter for 10 to 15 minutes ( no problem there) When it was my turn, I was sent out to hook up the trailer and check the lights and then had to come back in, get in line again, wait another 10 minutes to get the paperwork done. Dumb system and very inconvenient. I don't mind waiting in line once, but twice is not acceptable.

Very busy. Suggest during long waits - clerks ask patrons if anyone is returning - I waited 35 minutes for a 3 minute transaction to return the trailer. Leaving the location an employee offered assistance, none was needed but I told her about the damaged wire on the trailer and she immediately apologized and marked the trailer US and to be serviced. Great incentive on her part and likely prevented a serious incident if the trailer was incorrectly rented without the necessary repair. Staff at this location very friendly and helpful.

Getting in a verbal fight with your desk clerk, about what I reserved, and I have a confirmation email on my phone, not good. Also when a customer volunteered to remove me from the line because he was in a hurry and didn't want to wait. I would suggest telling your customers they cannot have the trailer they reserved, even when I have a email confirmation, and than telling them to wait "overthere" for a manager. I don't think this is A very courteous way to treat your customers . Ps trailer worked well, but my stress level was threw the roof when I left for 7hr drive with the trailer I reserved.

The equipment and pick up location we ended up using were good, I did have issue with the change of location. We had chosen a different location, which apparently was not currently a uhaul dealer even though it still shows on the web site. We did not find out about a change of location un-tell we called the day before as no communication was given to us by phone or email. I had to make arrangements to get my car picked up from the far side of the city last minute. We called the Dealer we had chosen and found out they had not been a dealer for a long time before we selected them on the uhaul website. When we talked to uhaul on line about this issue all we got is a quote from the reservation request quoted to us over and over, very unhelpful. Over all I would rate my experience with uhaul a 3/10 was not impressed with the poor information and poor communication.

The pickup process was easy and the equipment worked well. I was told the van we ordered would be big enough to fit the 7 1/2' couch I was moving, and they were absolutely right. Drop off was simple, just checked the closing milage and fuel level and emailed me a receipt. Just be aware that the $19.95 short term rental works out to be more once you add milage and fuel costs. Still a very reasonable solution!

I'm not sure why you have to line up twice....you go in to confirm the booking then back outside to receive the equipment then back inside again to complete the rental. Seems to me that this could all be done at once when you get there.

I was moving a very short distance, but had to drive a long distance to pick up the vehicle. That was fine, but I was told I had to return this particular vehicle (cargo van) to the same location. I was always able to return to any U-Haul location, so not sure why I couldn't this time. This was inconvenient, and cost me more as that was a lot more kilometres added.

There was some problems (confusion) with getting a tow dolly. When I went to the U-Haul online website, the website recommended that I get a tow dolly for my 2007 Honda Odyssey. When I went to get the dolly and truck, I was told that I would be getting an auto transport instead (more $$), and that I would need to fill the moving truck first - this was an extra (unexpected) trip. When I came back in the evening, the tow dolly for my vehilcle had been given out. I was reassured that it would be returned off hours, and that I could come by first thing in the morning, and they would give me the auto transport (a THIRD trip back). Other than this incident, which set us back a bit for our travelling time, things were good. Reception was as helpful as they could be. The man assisting me with the auto transport and in explaining things about the 20' Moving Truck was very helpful and knowledgeable.

When I told them to refund the insurance , I was declined . So I spoke to Taylor (manager) and it seems she is of same opinion . My experience is very bad and it happened to me twice .

We reserved a 10' truck for one-way rental, but the day before the move we were told this was no longer available. Our option was a 26' truck or a cargo van. The 26' truck was far too big for me to drive, so I opted for the cargo van which turned out to be far too small for the content at hand. We ended up leaving behind an entire bedroom suite.

I was very disappointed that the furniture dolly I had reserved was not available because they had "run out." My reservation was done a month in advance. It made the move very difficult. I asked for furniture blankets as well and was told they were in the truck. They were not. On a positive note, both the front store clerk and the man who received the cube van when I arrived after my move, were both very pleasant. Hope I do not have to pay charges for usage of the extras and would appreciate some sort of compensation for this unfortunate event. Thank you.

Please don't take orders online promising one type of vehicle if you can not deliver it. They sent me to 3 different locations Dartmouth, east preston and bedford. Each time i requested a 10 to 15 ft. When I arrived at the dartmouth location to pick up my u haul I was told my 15 foot was not available but they "upgraded" me to a 26 ft. That truck can not be parked anywheres its the size of a tractor trailer. After driving to east preston (60 km) out of my way. After looking at the size of the 26 ft i decided i had to find an alternative because that truck would not work in the busy area of south end halifax I live in. I had to make alternative moving arrangements which ended up costing me 100s of dollars. The next day i called just before 9 am and I was in luck they found me a 10 ft at the dartmouth location, the service rep took my credit card information. Then she informed me someone had taken the u haul before I could click yes. I then asked to talk to the scheduling department, where the gentleman informed me the only truck I'm getting today is another 26 ft truck and i had to drive to bedford 40 km round trip added to my journey once again, and I would have to pay for those extra km. Out of desperation I said yes. I drove as fast as I could to get to the bedford uhaul dealer. I ended up asking the clerk on arrival if there is any 10-15 trucks. He said I was in luck there are two in Dartmouth a 10- and 17 ft. I told him I would take the 17 ft. I got back in my car drove to dartmouth and stood in line for 30 mins once again. Finally i was greeted by a nice bearded gentleman who helped send me to east preston the day before. He gave me the keys to the 17 ft and as an apology for what I had been thru promised a reduced rate and 10 free miles for my rental. I agreed that was fair and continued on my way. Received the truck in poor dirty condition. Also the truck would rev to 5000 rpm without changing gears burning more and more fuel and severely reduced performance. I finished my move dropped off the truck with 2 extra large boxes inside to take advantage of your return policy on unused boxes. I received my bill the next day without the 10 free miles and no boxes credited. Please give me a call 604-992-9207 and work this out.

Lined up for initial service (booked on line) then I was taken outside to hook up the trailer. I then had to go back inside and line up again to complete the paperwork. A customer should not have to line up for service twice for one visit.

I drop a star because I ordered a truck for 24 hours online and I didn't notice the fine print in the email confirming the order that they booked it for 18 hours. The person who called to confirm the order on the phone mentioned nothing about it either. Since 12 hours of our 24 took place over night while we slept this was a pretty big deal. I only found out because I called to see if we could keep the truck an extra day. We had two very upsetting days trying to sort that all out from our end ( how we were going to handle it). The redeeming factor is that when we went to pick it up they told us we could actually keep it for 23 hours. So, a lot of upset for nothing in the end and from that point on the service was excellent and very efficient. Better communication guys! And thank you for pulling through in the end!

The truck vibrates badly on the highway. May need either the tires rebalanced or an alignment. Other then that, it was very good experience.

Make sure the customer service centre gives out the right information as I was told I could do one thing but in store that was not the case and I had to scramble to find another option. Needless to say we were there almost an hour before we got the rental as the power went out aswell and there was no back up generators.

Wrong hitch put on, over charged as it was also more expensive than the one I requested, vehicle was not secured when hitch install was complete and left open in a lot behind the shop, trailer leaked and we were forced to dry clean items. Any issues brought to manger were dismissed and mocked. Manager is rude and confrontational.

While this is an excellent location and the staff were very helpful the parking area or yard was ciaos - a suggestion - a lot of the areas, we assume, designated to hold rental vehicles were empty, with a re-positioning of your on site units not rented it would free up significant space for customers coming and going.

The equipment, including a very new truck, was in good shape however, I had paid in advance so I could avoid standing in line and yet, was forced to join a long line of renters when I arrived. The stand-up dollys that I had pre-booked, were not available and I had to take to appliance dollys in their place. Neither was a big deal, but if you want to improve service in the future, honour these pre-booking orders.

I can honestly say that this was the single best experience with a mechanical shop that I have ever had. From the young lady who took it upon herself to contact ME after my attempt to buy over the internet hit a glitch, and followed up and booked the appointment, to my arrival at the store, and my meeting at the front desk with Sud, who handled every detail perfectly, professionally courteously and respectfully. Sud explained everything about Uhaul, the hitch, my car and it its ratings, he escorted us to the entry of the waiting room. He arranged for the car to be taken in On Time, he told us the job could take between an hour and a half to two hours to be completed . So Naturally we were prepared for 2, bracing for 3 and fearing 4hours. To my utter amazement the car was done in just over an hour and sud walked up the stairs to come get us, and to finish the transaction. There is NO WAY this experience can have been better. I feel like you folks have mastered this business. With people like Sud at your helm, you have little to worry about. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this Uhaul location to anyone. Stellar Job. Thanks Uhaul. Thank you to the crew who did the work, and who respected our time, and above all thanks to Sud, and employee any company should be proud to have.
