This was an easy move. We appreciated being offered early pickup so we could pack up and rest afterward before departure.

The vehicle I received I was asked to mark any damage I saw on the contract. I marked PLENTY on damage that was not noted in their system. Keep in mind they charge YOU for damage if they find it after you return it. I did tell the staff there was damage that wasn't noted in the system. They do charge for damage repairs so i feel like the damages should have been fixed. Staff was friendly, but did not seem to thoroughly go over details of the vehicle with me. Once I was approximately 3 miles from picking up the vehicle a notification "sound" kept dinging and I found the gas cap was broken. I called and notified them. They noted my file and I was not charged, but again.... they should have know of the issue prior to renting out the vehicle, and have fixed the issue! I had no idea how to use the system on the dash and had to call (again) to ask several questions. I do believe this particular uhaul site has friendly staff, but as far as stock and knowledge of vehicles I don't believe I would recommend this place to anyone unless they had no other choice.

There was a pitbull in the office. He was friendly, but it would make some people nervous.

The Historic Hwy 40 location was awesome - friendly and helpful. The "corp office" - not so helpful. I went online and reserved a truck from the location I wanted, the size I wanted, for the 4 hour block I wanted, with insurance, and an estimated 10 miles of travel (which I padded). I received a confirmation of my rental no problem with an estimated total of $48. Then about an hour later I received a voice mail saying they were changing my package and pick up location to make it more convenient and cost effective for me. They had changed me to a pick up location across town, with a base truck rental fee of $60 + the insurance - but I could keep it for the whole day, get 30 free miles, and additional miles for 40 cents instead of $1.09. The new estimated total was almost $90. I called back twice to try to get my original package reinstated and both people tried to convince me that the new estimated total of almost $90 was a better deal than the original estimate of $48. I had to go back online, set up another reservation the way I wanted it, then call "the corp office" and cancel the reservation "corp" messed up. Thank you to Historic Hwy 40 for making my pickup and return so easy and pleasant after "corp" tried to mess everything up.

For after-hours return, I was instructed to park the box trailer on the street in front of the place of business. The downslope of the street at that location means that the trailer would roll down the hill. Trailers don't have a parking brake! I had to turn it sideways with the tongue on the sidewalk. They need a better setup for late unattended returns.
