I rented this truck a week ago Sunday. I have been dealing with customer service every day since due to the lack of customer service the lack of knowledge and the pure ignorance of the associates with the U-Haul locations I've had to deal with over this past week as well as the poor responses from management with customer service center. First I only had the truck for about 3 or 4 hours I returned it under the mileage that was allotted to me and to the same location which was requested by U-Haul customer service instead of dropping it off at the location closest to my home they told me I would get a lower rate if I brought it back to the Chantilly location so I agreed to get the lower rate. I returned the truck after about 4 hours then on Tuesday my boyfriend receives a phone call from the Sterling Virginia location saying we never returned the truck and we will be charged every day until it is returned he proceeded to tell them that we did return the truck just a couple of hours after originally renting it and that it must be a mistake as we were told to return it to Chantilly not Sterling. The manager of Sterling. Incredibly rude saying that he didn't care it wasn't his problem nor his job to figure out what had happened and that he was going to charge us everyday until the truck arrived at his location. After this on settling phone call I reached out to customer service to explain to them what had happened as when I tried to call Chantilly location no one picks up the phone after being on hold for 45 minutes with customer service I finally was able to reach a live person. This person transferred me to a rental supervisor which the supervisor told me she was confused and didn't understand what happened and she would call each location to get to the bottom of it and make sure that it was figured out and that I wouldn't be charged anything extra and what in fact receive the lower rate of $58 since I was promised that if I returned it to the Chantilly location rather than the one closest to my home she never called me back Thursday I got a second receipt showing that I've now been charged twice once for $69 and once for $88 that's two charges equaling almost $200 for a three and a half hour truck rental. I called customer service again this time being placed on hold for 30 minutes finally spoke with somebody and they told me I was in fact charged twice and that this was going to be escalated and passed to the manager of this area so that it would be prioritized and taken care of as soon as possible as this is unacceptable I do not want to hang up the phone until speaking with a supervisor and getting confirmation that this would be handled as a priority. It's now Friday night I still have not received a call from a manager or any other representative from U-Haul. This is the worst experience I've ever had was any vehicle rental I usually go with Budget Rental because of the customer service that I've always received in the past being o

Our van wasn’t available, but they gave us a truck for the same price. I checked in on line, but it still took much longer than I expected. Also, the location was not in a convenient place for us, but other locations didn’t open early enough. Also, no one answered the phone when I called.

Overall experience with U-Haul was bad. Booking online would not go through so had to call and make reservation by phone. After taking credit card information and confirming reservation I get an email showing a different pickup location that is 12 miles away. At $0.99 per mile it means I paid $23,76 in extra mileage. Furthermore, you messed up the dates and pick up time, so had to call back to correct all this. Each time had to wait nearly 30 minutes to speak with someone at HQ. Location for pick up is confusing. Door to office is closed, then found out you need to pick up at adjacent gas station. Vehicle has 3/8 of tank of gas, so wasted more time filling up in addition to driving 12 miles out of my way. I asked them why they did not fill up the tank when we are picking up from a gas station he said they are no affiliated. How is that possible when they guy is standing behind the cash register where people are paying for gas. Whole operation looked shady. NEVER AGAIN!!

Operated out of a convenience store. Not very convenient. Transaction was done on a cell phone not any type of computer terminal. Ordered 60 furniture blankets but he told me they only had 6 and I would have to go to another hub to get them. He charged me $5 and didn't give me any blankets!

Didn’t receive the moving pads I requested or the mattress cover I paid for. The attendant was very nice, but it was hard to see the sign for the location, I had to call the help line to figure out where to go

This is NOT a U-haul pick up location. This is a sketchy trucker stop that holds a couple of U-hauls. They wanted me to write all the information I had already put into the website system on the back of a cigarette card board box. I was told by the gas station attendant that this is the way she always did it for the owner of the u-haul business. I called support and she resolved by called the property which they told her the system was down which is a blatant lie so in the end I had to drive off with no contract and spent a good hour sorting all this out as my moving deadline was nearing. I've rented uhauls before and this place is NOT BRAND STANDARD.

There was no jack on the trailer and I couldn't physically lift the trailer onto my truck. With the trailer loaded it is impossible to disconnect from truck. I had to bring my own car jack to get it on and off. When I called to get a quote from the caller center I was told the price included taxes. When I went to pick up the trailer they added the taxes at the pick up center. It at all thrill with my decision to get a uhaul trailer.

They asked me to put my credit card information on a kools cigarette carton on the day I picked up the truck. I informed the store clerk that I had already filled out my information online. She tells me I have to do it anyway, but I wasn’t comfortable putting my credit card and address information on a cigarette carton. Anther clerk walked in and called UHale directly and I didn’t have to leave any information. I was in the store for over 45mins to an Hour. Overall it was a horrible experience and I don’t think I’ll ever use UHale again.

Please have a computer system in place...the guys did everything by pen and paper, yet 5mi down the road they have an entire online system providing customers print outs of estimates and finalized stuff... it was not welcoming to see such backwards methodology being applied there. the ppl were nice, but will not go there again, was not too confident in their method of noting stuff down before leaving....

The location did not have any of the usual u haul rental slips and wrote all of my information down on the back of a cigarette carton. This included my credit information, not very secure, so I will have to keep an eye on my accounts for a while. The employees didn't seem to know all to much about renting the trucks and did not do any damage checks or a walk around before letting me take the truck. I have rented u haul trucks on multiple occasions from different places and never had an experience as odd as this.

I had an 8am rental. No one was available to assist. Twenty minutes later an individual showed up and proceeded to write the vehicle information down on a piece of card board. The so-called fast rental process took as long as the regular process. The only thing this place has going for it is it's location. No thanks, next time I'll either rent from the Home Depot store or travel the extra 10 minutes to the Stonecroft Blvd location.

Location doesn’t have a system in place and wrote down all my information in a piece of paper (including my credit card info) even though I made the reservation online prior to the pick up and had everything filled out in the website.

Asked for a receipt, was not given one. Then, had to respond to an email saying that we did not return the truck explaining that we did, in fact, drop it off. To top it all off, we are being charged for an extra day of insurance now because it was reported that we dropped the vehicle off a day later than we actually dropped it off. The rental was fine, but dealing with the aftermath has been a huge hassle. Not happy with this experience
