I did not want to do a self service vehicle, but my reservation was made for one without my knowledge, so I went to business at 9:45 am that didn't open until 2 pm. I talked with customer service, and they were able to help, however I was on the phone for over 15 minutes before I even got a hold of someone.

My reservation sent me to the wrong location. I was sent to Jen's Furniture and the reservation was incorrect. I had to travel an additional quarter of a mile to find where my reservation was. Very, very inconvenient.

hours vary - i spent 20 minutes trying to park the truck only to find out no one was in the office - had to return the vehicle online and was almost charged for another day's fee. I did dispute the extra day charged and it was removed.

When we arrived, we could barely find a space big enough in the parking lot to put the truck. Went up to the building and no one was even on site. There was just a note on the door saying "Out for emergency". We left the keys in the drop box and assumed since there was no one there to receive us, we did not need to look over the truck with them and record it's state after we had used it. There was nothing wrong with the truck when we dropped it off and there was no one there to verify this with. We were told by the dispatcher of the truck that since we had purchased the insurance, there was no reason to take pictures or video of the truck, as we could not be charged for it. We received a call the next morning from King Alex Limo asking why we had left the truck there, as if they had not been informed by Uhaul that they were the drop-off location for the truck. Later that day, a $30 charge was noticed on my account from King Alex Limo. We called back to ask why we had been charged extra and they said it was to clean out all of the dog hair from the truck. I DO NOT own a pet. There is no way that I left any kind of animal hair in the truck when I don't even own an animal. In response to this explanation of 'we don't have a dog, we didn't leave hair, we didn't see any hair in the truck, we shouldn't be charged' the representative on the phone called me a 'bitch' and said to 'come down there and settle it then'. After this we called Uhaul saying we did not think this charge was legitimate, as we did not see any dog hair in the truck and they could have said anything was wrong with it because we were not there to verify it when they were inspecting the truck. To this the Uhaul representative replied that it is a legitimate charge and if we want our money back WE would have to personally contact the dispatcher and get the money from him since he gave us a 'dirty truck'. I believe it is Uhaul's job to contact THEIR contractors that they trust with their customers when the customers have a complaint and/or want refunded on something. The Uhaul representative didn't even seem to care that the contractor at the drop-off location had cursed at us on the phone and told us to 'come down and settle it then', when we included this detail. I don't have a pet. I just want a refund for the $30 cleaning charge associated with the supposed dog hair that I could not possibly have gotten in the truck. The Uhaul representative said that the money would be credited back to my account from the dispatcher, on a "good faith gesture", as if he's doing me a favor by refunding the charge for cleaning a mess I could not have caused/don't even think exists. Having to deal with this has made my experience absolutely awful, and Uhaul does not seem to feel like they should take responsibility for the problems that the contractors who represent their company have caused a customer.

Clean office and truck, friendly and efficient staff. High marks. One question: I was charged for ten miles when I only drove five. Is there a ten mile minimum? It's only $4, no big deal, just curious.

My comment refers more to the system of which I made my reservation. I made it online. There was no time specifics to use, but when it was confirmed there was a note that someone would call before 6pm that day. I received a text at 645pm that day. It had a generically picked time at my desired location. I needed to change the time. I called the location. They could not get into their system. The next day I was able to change the time easily. Apparently though the location I had picked did not have pickups. I had to change the location as well. I was on the phone with a pretty rude lady as she tried to find somewhere closer to my place that had pickups. All of this could have been avoided if I was contacted by a rep at the correct time and the reservation system let me choose time and make sure the location had what I needed.
