The gentlemen at this location was not to happy.

The man who rented the truck was rude. My truck was rented in one location but I had to pick it up 10 miles further which was inconvenient as I had movers waiting. I would not recommend U Haul at the pick up location. This man was very unprofessional.

The first location on E Natoma didn't have my truck so I had to go to the above mentioned location. I was told the truck had 3/4 tank of fuel. Several miles down the road I noticed it did not. I knew right than if I didn't turn around and go back I was had. I was on a tight schedule. I went directly to my apartment in Folsom and from there directly to the storage facility in Lodi which was one block off freeway and before Lodi. After that I got gas and went to Lodi drop off. I was told I went 2 miles over and would have to pay 86 cents extra. Really.....That is stupid.

This business is for sale per the owner !!!! He wants to retire, so customer service pleasantries were non existent...a simple "good morning" would have been nice at pickup.

The manager is one of the rudest people I if have ever meet. He should not be working with the public ....He never walked through the trailer with me or for that matter ever said more than tree words to me ...NOW YOU WANT TO CHARGE ME $10.00 CLEANING FEE THAT'S B.S.

Make sure customers know when Dan takes lunch and is out of the office.

The person who checked me in and out expected me to both hook up the trailer and unhook and put the trailer away on my return. Not good customer service.

The manager of the location was awful. He was extremely rude, called me the f-word because he didn't like how slow I backed up to the trailer rental. I guess he was in a hurry. Said he was grateful he wouldn't be driving behind me because I was slower than his grandma.

The owner Dan Friedman who appears in his 70's is one of the rudest human beings I've ever encountered. This guy was using profane language while his employee JOHN (who happened to be polite) was helping me with renting a truck. The owner is a mechanic in which he does automotive repairs on site as well as run his U-Haul franchise on the same premises. Mr.owner Dan IMO needs to retire. He's obviously not a happy guy with his VERY NEGATIVE DEMEANER walking around the place trying to look busy but rather just looking for anything to B@&?H about! When I returned my truck rental I was waiting behind one gentleman who appeared to be renting a hitch trailer after I already parked the 26' truck I rented. I needed to get my receipt for the final charges. As I was waiting in the very compact lobby that was a very unorganized mess of u-haul moving products and automotive repair clutter everywhere all over the service counter. "Mr. Owner Dan" out of nowhere blurted out something while standing in front of what looked like a desk top computer...he then blurted out again something I couldn't quite understand and since he was just on the other side of the service counter,... I said "excuse me?" Mr. Owner Dan responsed "did you replace the gas in the truck?" I said "yes" Mr Owner Dan then while never looking at me, gave me a "Shoo away" hand gester saying " Ok get out of here". I stood there for a few seconds thinking WTF??? I wanted to respond with a "Who the H&@L do you think your are speaking to me that way?" But rather... I simply replied "have a nice" and walked out. Mr Owner Dan is obviously not a happy individual. But as owner of a business myself, RULE # 1 NEVER BE RUDE TO YOUR CUSTOMERS. I walked out of that place thinking "wow" the brand "u-haul" as big of a name they have in this country, they will sell their franchise to anyone. About 20 min. later I received my final receipt with charges via email. I called back to Mr Owner Dan's u-haul where I rented the truck to speak with "polite" JOHN the employee to go over final charges...remember I was Shoo'd off earlier by Mr. Owner Dan and was given no opportunity to receive my final receipt with charges. After verifying the charges with "Polite" JOHN the employee, I mentioned Mr.Owner Dan was a rude and grumpy guy....JOHN replied "Oh yeah". I would recommend renting a truck from another location. My advice to you Mr. Owner Dan...PLEASE RETIRE!!!

Convenient location. Owner a little overwhelmed. A/C was not working properly in truck. I'll be back because it's conveniently located and the owner tried hard, just had a lot of work.

The gentleman working tonight when I dropped the trailer back off was easily the rudest person I have ever experienced. He came out to my car without saying word and started taking the trailer off. Then he mumbled something a pointed behind me so I went in the office to wait for him. After waiting for quite some time he came into the office and rudely told me that I didn't need to wait in there and I could go. When I asked about a receipt for my drop off he snapped that it would be emailed to me. He made it seem like I was an inconvenience and that I was bugging him by dropping my trailer off. A hello or how are you would be nice when a customer arrives at your business and it wouldn't be that difficult for him to explain the process to me so that I didn't waste my time waiting in the office.

I dropped the trailer off, the checked it in. It doesn't get easier.

Extremely rude person at the front desk. I waited 10 minutes for him to slowly walk to me from the garage, and once he came over, he was mumbling and I couldn't hear him clearly, which he clearly showed was pissing him off. He mumbled my last name, which I didn't hear correctly, so I said, "My first name is ------", and he responded, "Your first name doesn't mean a damn thing. Is your last name ---, why would you tell me your first name, so I ask you if you are --- and you don't respond, what are you doing?" He kept mouthing off for a good 5 minutes before he finished my check-in and rushed me out the door. Extremely terrible experience, and I will never use this location again. TERRIBLE

Hello, The manager/owner, Dan, should be in a U-Haul training video to teach new leasers exactly how not to behave with customers. Every 2-3 sentences you're basically reminded that he doesn't give a dame about your business--rude, disrespectful and belittleing. If I didn't need the trailer right then I'd have pounded my fist on the counter several times to get his attention, then state my feelings about his intolerable behavior, then leave. I'd be truly surprised to find out he hasn't been roughed up by a customer by now. Maybe something has happened to him or his family recently or having a terrible week--we all know if happens. On the positive side (sort of), I was able to reserve the trailer a week in advance and was there when I picked it up. It wasn't the trailer I expected or that was shown on the website reservations system. There were no rails to tie down on because it had taller wood sides and only 4 hooks on the outside. More for moving appliances I think. He did not make me pay for another day as I brought it back a day later--I had said I might. That's enough. Thank you -- Gregg

When we returned the truck & parked it in a safe location in this relatively small lot on a busy street, the gentleman who worked for Uhaul was perturbed/angry where we left it!? Trying to safely return equipment should not produce an attitude!?

Everything worked fine, as expected. Good experience. Thanks

Craig R. on

John was great and efficient. Only drawback is he had to both process customers and connect us with our equipment. It would be nice if he could hand off customers to a yard guy. Nevertheless, I was in and out in 25 minutes including the waiting line.

Rude owner even at pickup, then processed unauthorized fuel charges. Unwilling to discuss the fuel discrepancy, makes employees call and give the message. Will be disputing this with corporate and my bank.

Dan always comes through when I need to rent from the Folsom, CA location.

The trailer was very old with multiple cracks in the body. The floor was cracked as well. The older gentleman at the Folsom Auto repair counter was very rude. I have rented from Uhaul multiple times in the past, but will definitely consider other options in the future.

Dan was the only person at this location and rented us a tow dolly that was not the right size for my car. He warned us it was the only one he could get and to be super careful in turns as the dolly would dent the car because it was too small for the towed vehicle. It made our trip twice as stressful, knowing we had the wrong equipment and in fact, the dolly did dent the trim in one of our tight turns (the road had a hairpin turn we had no choice). Thanks for some of your help I only wish we'd had the time to find the right size for my car.
