U-haul needs to fix their website issues. I placed a credit card number on the website to pay gor the U-haul truck, and when I got to the U-haul pick up place, I had to give the card number again because the website didnt keep the credit card number I gave online.

We returned our truck after hours. There were signs all over the door (some) handwritten; extremely non professional looking. The area was down a little side road and not inviting at all. I did not feel safe. The lighting needs improvement.

The computer system was not working properly, and even though I waived the insurance for the vehicle, I was mistakenly charged for it. It has been two weeks, and have not had the charge credited back to my card.

TOP NOTCH A++ owners. My van broke down at Wal Mart and they came to pick me up and took me back to their office for a 10' van. I was very very pleased with this experience and I would recommend them to every person in Galax VA area looking to rent a Uhaul. Best of the best!

I was contacted less than 20 hours in advance of my rental, regarding major changes in my rental and pick-up location. The truck I received was bigger than requested, and I received a car transport trailer rather than the towing dolly I had reserved. Thus I paid $55+ to have the drive shaft removed and later installed, which in the end I didn't need to do. The truck I was given had very worn tires, one of which blew out on the highway in New Mexico. After a 1 1/2 hour wait, the tire was replaced and I was on the road again for a short while. At my next stop for gas, I discovered that the tire blow-out had bent the tailpipe upwards by about 8 inches, which resulted in a hole being melted in the plastic skirt, where the tailpipe was not putting out exhaust and heat. The first mechanic did not check or notice this damage to the tailpipe. After a second 1 1/2 hour+ wait, the tailpipe was fixed and I was back on the road. The delays, however, necessitated that I add an extra day to my move, and an additional hotel stay, which cost me an additional $60. This move cost me a fair bit more than it should have had Uhaul been more on top of it's game. In addition to the $115 that I paid for the work on the driveshaft and the additional hotel stay, the truck and trailer that I received got worse mileage than the equipment that I had reserved 2 weeks earlier, costing me additional money for my move. I called customer service over a week ago to discuss my frustrations and extra expenses, and after a considerable wait time, I was told that I would be contacted by a representative within 2 days. Over a week later, I still have not heard anything back from Uhaul representatives. I am on the phone again right now with customer service, and have been on hold once again for an excessive amount of time, though the recorded message keeps asserting that "one of our representatives will be with you in a moment". These calls are costing me more money, as the cell phone I use is one which I have to buy each minute used. This hold time, and the accompanying message are also just frustrating on their own. A company which cares about the time of its customers would offer a call-back service during times of higher levels of calls/ extended hold times, or at the very least let the customer know approximately how long they can expect to be on hold. I have had nothing but positive experiences with Uhaul in the past, but this last trip had more than its fair share of frustrations and delays, all of which could have been easily avoided.

Originally went to Wythville Appalachian self storage where I was charged for a 26 foot that I ordered then he tried to give me a 20 ft. truck, when I spoke with him and asked him to try and fix it after he charged my card he became rude hateful and threatening. Individual then gave me a wrong number to Uhaul where luckily they forwarded me to his regional office that helped me and did cut some of the cost, but I had to take more of my time to go out of the way drive farther to get the truck. The truck had a broken seat belt on drivers side, the manual handle for rolling the window down was missing parts, truck given didn't have the power needed to pull my honda crave on a trailer up the hills, so forced my wife to drive her vehicle costing me more in fuel. Truck needed a tune up bad and used extremely too much fuel for trip. Will definitely ask about truck more if there is a next time. No one at the place I picked up the truck keys left above visor for me, had no choice to use due to time limit to get to Missouri with items and back to West Virginia to return to work. Was very disappointed and surprised to find out individual at Appalachian storage still allowed to be a vendor if that is what the call them. Please review the recorded call you must be able to hear him in the back ground my wife was parked in an easement of his property where I was walking down to her as I was making the call and he continued to come at me in an aggressive and threatening manor! I pray you all do read these! The $223 dollars off and extra mileage was not worth the undo stress crossed by this incident! Especially when I have had multiple heart attacks and have PTSD as it is..........

Make sure that the fluids are filled, oil changes are well maintained and not send someone out while I am broken down to rig the truck where I have to fill the fluids myself and have the oil changed and pay for all the motor work myself! The chip and crack in the windshield got worse as I was driving and my windshield wiper fidn't even work! Due to the motor issues and transmission problem, the gas fees were insanely expensive as with beyond costly to have the motor worked on! After all the stress of going through all that nonsense, while in mid of unpacking, I had a massive heart attack that took 3 1/2 wks of my life away!!! Thanks for trying to kill us!!!

Staff was very nice and helpful, and dedicated to get us what we needed. The downside was that the brakes we not working properly on the first truck. We were given another truck and all was well. We were charged over a 100+ dollars more for the rental than we were quoated. I think, though, that this was not the local dealers fault. I contacted the folks that I had made the reservation with and they said that Customer Service would get to me in a few days.
