I had made a reservation well in advance and expected to pickup at a UHaul center since I had told them I also needed the hitch ball attachment and setup to my new truck My appointment was 9am and after running to another location twice to accomplish what I reserved -- I finally drove off this lot at 2pm --- I was extremely frustrated. the trailer was not clean -- had tree twigs in it. I was also under the impression the trailer came with tie downs which I did not know that I would have to buy from the Uhaul center. If I had known that, I would have came better prepared with that equipment.

I drove pass the drop off place five times looking for it because the place had no sign, no U-hauls in front and the place had no street number on the building.

Fix your mobile checkin and train your phone assistance people. They should be honest! The girl told me the manager was 5 minutes away when it was 20...I live in Melbourne and knew she was lying!

Because of the adversarial treatment by the staff at this facility, my customer service experience was so negative, it left me with the conclusion that I never want to do business with Uhaul again. It seemed like the staff at this facility went out of their way to take advantage of and nickel and dime me every chance they could. I dont know if it is company policy or financial incentive for staff to try to look for opportunities to extract every possible dollar, but it sure felt that. It started with rudeness. When I attempted to come into the office the young lady prevented me from entering by closing the door in my face, saying “please wait,” leaving me waiting outside for over 5 minutes with no explanation of reason or how long I would have to remain outside. It went down hill after that. She then handed me a broom and threatened me with a $25 “sweeping fee.” Sweeping fee??? The floor had only traces of dust and minor bits of paper, the result of routine use at worse. In fact it may have already been there when I got the truck in the first place. Anyway is it your policy to avoid even cursory cleaning of your trucks for the next customer? The most egregious insult came next. I was then told that since I took the truck 3/8 full but returned it only 1/4 full that there would be an $18 charge. This was a totally unwarranted charge since my total mileage was less than 30 miles and I had put in 3 gallons of gas from a station less than a mile away just before returning the truck. Either your fuel gage display is empty or they deliberately under reported amount of remaining fuel. I can provide records from my bank confirming the time and location of the gas purchase. Anyway I believe that at the very least you should refund that unwarranted $18 charge. In addition there should be some compensation for the rude and confrontational customer service by your staff. Clearly next time I need to rent a truck I will contact another firm.

The roof of the cargo area leaked so badly in the rain that I had an inch of water on top of totes, and many cardboard boxes were ruined, along with some of the contents.

Employee offered no instructions and very little assistance in attaching and the safe loading of the tow dolly. I took the tow dolly to the U Haul center in Cocoa because I was concerned that it wasn't attached properly and was given excellent assistance even though I didn't rent it there, but the original place in Melbourne is a joke and most of my questions were ansewered with "I have no idea" This place should not be allowed to rent trailers without training.

Put a large banner or sign up in the check out area or otherwise highly visible location informing customers who are dropping off vehicles to see personnel in the lot as opposed to waiting 30 minutes in a checkout line only to be told to go outside and see the yard attendant.

When you rent a trailer at 8 AM on a Saturday and the contract says you have to return it at AM on Sunday, you should either be open at 8AM on Sunday or tell the customer you are not open until 9AM on Sunday. When the customer comes back at 9AM after having been there at 8AM, and they tell you, you should take care of them first and not make them wait 20 minutes behind everyone else, especially when you sent them back to drop off the trailer and they come back to check out. You also ought to notice that the system charged them double because now it thinks they turned the trailer in late. And when they take two steps from the register and turn around and tell you they you have double charged them, you should take care of them and not make them wait another 5 minutes while you take care of the next customer who just walked up. It was a painful return for what should have taken 30 seconds to actually transact the return of a trailer.
