The phone # at this location had not yet been activated, but it is connected to a diner-restaurant, so the drop off-check in was done while sitting having breakfast. Good compromise!

Where do I start? The phone number for your u-haul location does not work. I had to call the restaurant and fortunately they gave me the number for Alex. Truancies has a bald right rear tire but I had to take it as it was the only one there. The fellow was nice enough to come out to meet me at 8 pm but that was after a lot of phone calls and it appeared that this was not the norm. I guess this is only a satellite u-haul location.

Excellent service, friendly and prompt. No line showing up or leaving. Would recommend if they have applicable equipment and it is located conveniently for you.

First of all, this location wasn't even a Uhaul service centre, but rather one of your Satellite/mobile locations which is absolutely BRUTAL. It is a restaurant and there was NO uhaul staff member or designate even there. The Chinese lady working the restaurant picked up her phone and called someone to take care of my request and the exercise for filling out the contract stuff was absolutely painful and discusting to say the lest. It took me HOURs to actually get on my way for a number reasons: 1. I needed to purchase a bar & ball for my hitch because I had travelled from Winnipeg & didn't want to put one in my carry-on because I wasn't 100 per cent sure of the drop-down requirement so I had to go to the Coventry location to make that purchase. Stood in line for 45 minutes. 2. Went to your Newmarket mobile location (a restaurant) to get the trailer and no one there and when getting on phone with someone he had difficulties accessing the Uhaul website on his phone app - nice system. It took over an hour again. 3. The bar and ball I purchased from Coventry which your rep assured me was the right one was anything but, so I slowly drove back to Coventry to trade for the proper bar and ball. 4. When I got back to Coventry with trailer on a BAD angle (not level because I took a level with me to ensure I would have the best possible set-up for the 2300 KM trip), the Uhaul rep and I had to try no less than 4 set-ups before we settled on an acceptable almost level set-up. Bottom Line the experience in Ottawa was absolutely unacceptable, I arrived at Coventry for my first visit at 7:15 a.m. and left my second visit to Coventry at shortly after 10:00 a.m. arriving back at my location to pack the trailer for the long trip to Winnipeg at just before 10:30. Now, how would most people view that experience, probably not so good since what should take no more than 30-45 minutes took over 3 hours. Not acceptable, but thanks for asking.

The U-Haul contact wasn't at the location when I arrived. The person had to be called by the diner staff. As a result of a long phone discussion, I ended up doing the self-check in online. Despite being on the phone for a while, the whole process was done online (and could have been done in advance had I known there wasn't really a means of doing it in person). The truck itself wasn't clean in the cargo area or in the driver area.

There was such a mix up with us picking up our 6 x 12 trailer. We had requested another major depot in Ottawa and it wasn't there. We were told that it was changed. It wasn't. So we had to go to Stans Diner. We were not very happy.

The experience through Uhaul was not fluid. But in terms of the location, Stan's Diner, it was great. Before I rented, I came and checked this page. I saw all the negative comments, so instead of just showing up and hoping for a better experience, I did my due diligence to make sure it would work well I called Uhaul on Coventry to ask about the pick up. They were forthright in saying their app wasn't working well, so to use my browser. That helped immensely Then I called Stan's. The lady working there gave me the phone number of the contact who works at Stan'sand is their "specialist" in terms of the Uhaul side of their operations. I called the number, and the gentleman told me to call later that day when I was at Stan's for pickup, promising he would help me at that point When I arrived, I called back. He sat patiently on the phone and talked me through the entire online check-in process. When I completed it, he had me go inside and pass my phone to the gentleman working at Stan's, just as he was about to closer the diner for the evening. My contact on the phone spoke to the gentleman working at Stan's, and only a minute later I was simply handed a key, without any difficulties. It took me maybe 12-15 minutes to check-in, get the keys and be driving off the lot. Uhaul has some overhauls to do in terms of how they're going about this, especially with the online check-in/app. But with unconventional transactions such as this, there is an onus on the customer to do research and help themselves. If you spend a bit of time helping yourself, it will save a ton of headache And again, in terms of Stan's themselves, they were extremely helpful. Just reach out in advance and be pleasant

Person who I dealt with wasn't there. The cook phoned him at home and did it all by phone. I do business face to face. I found this very unprofessional and the ONLY reason I went here is because my reservation was "moved" to this location. The phone number is also wrong on that was given to me, and wrong on your website. Next time have the equipment sent to the requested location. I reserved weeks in advance. This should have been done. I highly doubt I will ever use U-Haul again. To concept of customer service from this location. Can't wait to tell you about the drop off location in Montreal!

Pickup location was in a bar/restaurant and all the process was by phone. No one was available onsite. In addition, we found moving blankets that we had to remove/move to another trailer with no help. From phone I was told that I will be charged only for used days but I didn't receive yet any final invoice about my rental. Very disappointed.

No one there to assist. Just spoke to someone on the phone even though I pre-booked and pre registered and paid( to save time). Loaded the trailer as per the noted instructions inside the trailer. Travelled 300k to our destination and then unloaded. During the short trip to drop off the trailer we hit a small bump and the trailer detached from the hitch! Bad scene! Was able to get it stopped but questioned the safety brake activation as the trailer hit into my truck twice. Called the local service manager and met with him to examine the trailer and my truck hitch. Supposedly everything was fine? I need to rent this type of trailer again soon ( 6x12 covered) but am not really comfortable. If the detachment had occurred on the high-way fully loaded things could have gotten very serious . Not the greatest trailering experience I have had...B

Don't charge them for moving the truck around the city.

Went to the location and got handed a phone which took a very long time to get the registration confirmed, although I had submitted all the necessary information online. It took 30 mins on the phone with someone and I had to provide my Credit Card information over the phone which I did feel comfortable with, but that was apparently the only way I was going to receive the Uhaul I booked. I had submitted this information over the internet initially, so I did not know I had to provide it once more over the phone. The Uhaul agent should have been onsite for this transaction. I will not put myself in this position again, I was stuck and did not have a choice in this situation. I am very upset.

Staff should use a laptop rather than a mobile phone to conduct business. He was unable to print the paperwork required to pay for this service at the time of pickup. I was extremely pleased with this pick up, but only because after reading such poor reviews, I phoned ahead to find out that my pickup location had changed. I then phoned the new location to verify my reservation. That was the only reason I had a good experience.

The truck had less than a quarter tank of gas and hadn’t been cleaned by the previous user. This was our THIRD rental attempt, after the Innis Rd (Ottawa) location THREE TIMES rented us trucks that WEREN’T actually there. They even took our payment and told us to go out and the key from the lot attendant. Only once we were outside were we told that the truck wasn’t there AGAIN. Despite having a reservation made almost a month in advance and twice confirmed - including less than an hour before pick-up, there was NO TRUCK available. They told us to come back the next day - and confirmed AGAIN that a truck was available. However, there STILL WAS NO TRUCK AT ALL. They took our payment. Then we had to get it refunded. No attempt to provide an alternative solution was made. No compensation was offered. By the time we tracked down a truck OURSELVES (at Stan’s Diner), more than 18 hours of multiple phone calls (to the rental site, to uHaul Customer Service, to local uHaul Traffic operations ....) and site visits had been made. Absolutely unfathomably unacceptable business practices.
