I ended up being charged for a cleaning fee when this was never disclosed that it could be a fee or discuss it with me, I cleaned the unit and swept it out so the fee shouldn't have been charged.

It was really good. We got a lot accomplished with the truck. Just the right size. Easy to drive and good view of the sides.

Bristin was amazing and very helpful. He even went beyond the call of duty and helped me find local help to offload. I would recommend Portola U-Haul to everyone with the highest confidence.

Portola Uhaul was great to work with, they really helped me out. Yuba City U-haul I have nothing good to say about them. I will never deal with them again.

We were unhappy that we had to drive all the way from South Lake Tahoe to Portola to get the truck we reserved 3 weeks ago to pick up in Tahoe. We were told for the inconvenience we would get 300 free miles and an extra day, but all we got was an extra day and no charge for driving 4 hours round trip to portola.

Do not use the online check in it's terrible. This location in portola will not help on sundays.

Rating:

The truck that I reserved wasn't available for pickup, despite an email confirmation and a phone call made on my end to ensure everything was locked on prior to arrival. I waited an hour for the change to be made. These folks at this location are lost, and have no clue how to properly run a business. Additionally, I was charged $14.00 for fuel the following morning, after return. I put fuel and took pictures, and should not have been charged. I was told “Corporate took the charges”. I called the Corporate office number and they demoted such a statement. How do I rectify this situation? This is not the way to do business, and I expect much more from UHaul.

I was called the day prior to pick up and was told I needed to go to a different location in NW Reno (about 20 miles from my original) When I got there they did not have my trailer either. I was told I had to drive an additional 100 miles RT to pick up the trailer. You don't give people any options when they leave the next day. I was only offered a $50 discount. I think I will look to another truck rental company the next time. $50 for 120 miles and 4 hours of my time is not a fair trade off.

Bristin McRae was well organized and very helpful!

My only criticism, and it's minor, is that the excellent folks at the Portola pickup could have let me know I needed a 2” ball and blade adapter for hook-up. It all worked out, however.

Rating:

The truck was clean, but the rear left tire was under pressured. A warning light came up in the middle of the trip, I was trying to add air at a gas station, but was unable to. It was very stressful to drive loaded truck with a warning light on complaining about an under inflated tire.

Don't wait until just before my pickup date to tell me the equipment is unavailable.

Only “game in town”, but nice people.

The location is remote considering pick up scheduled for Reno.

Adequate location, especially as they are the only “game” in town.
