I made a reservation online for a 24-hour rental but when I went into the store we needed to upgrade to a larger size truck so the gentleman that helped us only as long as I was back with the truck by 11:30 the next day there would be no problem. I am legally blind and I am not able to read a contract however I am the one responsible for it and paid for it I just had a driver. Around the next day my driver received a phone call saying that he was late with his truck and the next customer was waiting and he was going to be charged for 2 days. Few minutes later I received a phone call the truck was as they had called a few minutes prior and the driver said he was in route which he was. As the responsible party and credit card holder it would have been nice to be informed of the issues going on before showing up at the store I'm being told I was being charged for two days, having a representative tell me that my credit card has already been charged for two full days. My driver got into a verbal dispute with the cashier representative as he was snickering, smiling and laughing saying I don't care your contract says 10:30 and it's 11 you in imposition someone else so now you have to pay for that day. I handed the rental agreement to this gentleman and he threw it in the trash. Not only did he throw it in the trash but he also released my personal information by doing so. I spoke to the alleged general manager he was also very rude when I explained that I could not read a contract he said that's not my problem and refused to assist us. He basically wrote a promissory note for $50 additional charge so that if we ever needed to use Uhaul again we would have to pay this amount before we could use it. Have no fear Uhaul will not be my go-to ever again

The employee I talked to when I finally got there was great. The storage unit I was promised over the phone (ground floor, drive-up exterior door) was not available. He told me they have issues with wrong reservations all the time due to off-site reservation staff not knowing what they’re doing or having access to correct information about what’s available. When someone calls, make it so they can talk to a person who is actually at the location they’re going to so they can get the right information. Every time I called I got an incompetent employee at a call center. First one was rude and hung up on me, second one didn’t have access to information on how the 1st month free storage promo worked, and third time I got it reserved but she promised me a unit that ended up not being available.

I returned the truck the night prior to it being due, and had to search for the key drop. It was further away from the well lite area for the truck drop off area. Worst off, at around noon the day after I returned the truck I got a call asking when I was going to return the truck. I was told I'd get a callback, but instead after a couple hours called back and then realized I had an email completing my rental.

Rented the truck on a rainy weekend and the truck had a leak. The inside of the compartment was soaked and so, I could not move boxes, et al., for fear of water damage. Also, I thought all trucks had ramps on them mine did not and when I made the reservation, there was no mention that the truck rented would not have a ramp. Other than that, the location was convenient easy to pick up and return the vehicle.

The initial drop off at 851 s Gregg road in Nixa was not open. We went there at 9am and the storage facility gate was closed. The office hours showed open but we were unable to enter the lot. So we then switched it to the Springfield location.

When I went to return the truck, I told them about my experience there and how it really delayed my moving time. They didn't seem to care and even said that people like me had been a problem for them all day.... So I'm not allowed to be upset that I was delayed over 3 hours when I had people waiting to help me move? I was very displeased with the customer service there and I had nothing else to say to them because they clearly didn't care that I had a bad experience. I don't think that I will ever use U-Haul again because of this.

On the same day rentals...the mileage charge adds up ... In a big town it's minimum 15 miles from one end to the other. A $29.95 truck ended up coming to $138 for the move.



When returning the vehicle I was told I drive 100 extra miles and my bill was approximately $50 more than what it originally to be. They did fix the bill but only after they checked the miles by computer mapping (mapquest or google). Plus I track my mileage by an app on my phone.

The only thing I wish would have been better is the ability of the roll door of the trailer to move up and down. It was difficult to move and when I picked it up I said something to the associate helping me to hitch it to the pickup. He assured me that it would be ok. It turned out to be a real pain and had to be just right. It was not a smooth roll up or down.
