I had booked this rental for Wed, May 17 at 8:30am . Location was closed until worker showed up at 9am. I had called uhaul 2 days prior in order to request that the availability be confirmed for 8:30am (the earliest time available as per the on-line reservation). Message left at location was not returned. I had limited access to the moving elevator at my place and there were only negative reviews for this location. I really needed uhaul to make sure that the contract was honoured. I was told that everything was in order. I made sure that I had used your express checkout option on-line to help in speeding up the process. The hours on this uhaul location door showed 8am to 8pm. As a result of this delay, I was unable to complete my move and had to complete my move the next day, costing me time and money. I cannot understand how (given all the negative reviews for this location, especially where the timing was an issue) that uhaul still allowed this problem to happen to me. This shows that uhaul does not follow-up with resolving problems at their non-corporate locations. Confirmations mean nothing to uhaul.

I reserved a trailer and it was not there when I arrived. I was sent to another location who did not have my requested 5x8 when I was told it did. I was then sent back to the same location for a later pickup, they had no returned trailers. I then received another email confirming a third location with my trailer request. I called to confirm and they had one. I lost 3 hrs to a comedy of errors. Totally unacceptable.

When I selected this as my pick up preferred location I was not in their system at all to pick up a 10 foot truck. They had one but it was reserved for another guest, i was told by uhaul CS that I would have to go to the Richmond hill Ontario location . We had a time line and that was totally messed up. by the time we got everything sorted after I asked if I could get another truck available I was told I would have to pay a bit more. I was not happy and that I was now paying more for an even larger then needed truck, late for the drive from Toronto to Ottawa and late leaving the unit. Were were to be out before noon as they had a company coming to come. When they showed up we only had half the stuff out and they were not pleased at all. We needed a 10 foot truck one way for one day but it says on the bill it was for return on the 10th which also doesn't make sense. The trucks steering alignment was also a bit off, and when we got the truck it was on empty. I had to call the location back as when we opened the back of the truck there was a baby crib all in pieces scattered in the back which I have a photo of and some foam and an empty box. I would say this was my first experience with uhaul and I was a bit appalled how it all played out. The service from the poor guy at the location that had to try and fix everything was amazing and hope all of your locations have someone like him as he made everything seem less intense.

This location seems to be a one man operation. I booked to pick up at 9am, but the doors were locked, and no one there. 9:15 I called your customers service, and they quickly arranged a pick-up 15min away(Great!). I tried one final call to this location and the guy arrived stating bad weather for his delay. So ended up staying with this location, he processed and got me on my way 25min late. A little stressful, but both this location and your customer service were quick to resolve the issue, so all-in all, not Excellent (for the review), but the recovery was.

The locations hours of operation were listed as 8am-6pm. No one was there when I showed up at 11am to pick up car hauler. I waited at the location for over an hour while on the phone with u-haul trying to resolve the problem. U-haul ended up letting me take the car hauler in the end, at which time there was still no sign of anyone showing up to the location to assist. Disappointing considering I drove four hours round trip to purchase the vehicle and another half hour from there to pick up hauler, plus the hour spent waiting for u-haul to let me take it without attendant.

We had booked a mini van 9' at Stereo 1 location. An agent called me in the evening and said that I can't get the car at the location and the nearest location for this car will be 3360 Steels avenue west. I didn't like it but agreed since I had no choice. When I went there, I was told that they don't have any mini vans and the only car was a huge truck parked outside. I refused to take the truck and the guy went out and brought a smaller truck and said that that's the best they can offer. I took the car only because I needed to move mirrors by 11 o'clock but I am not sure I will use the U-Haul service anymore.

This location is very hidden and the trucks themselves are situated in spots that are extremely difficult to maneuver, particularly in winter. I am currently being pursued by U-Haul's insurance broker for damages to the vehicle that were already noted upon pick-up. I spoke with the drop-off location's attendant on the phone yesterday regarding the situation and she had stated she'd reported the damage because she had no record of any damage(s) being recorded prior and so she filed a claim within U-Haul. Is there not any escalation or validation process internally at U-Haul that gets vetted with the pick-up location dealer to verify the information before claiming that the driver is at fault? This is completely poor business practice and quite frankly is the absolute worst experience I have had in renting a vehicle. Further, the rental was returned on December 21st, 2016 and only as of January 26, 2017 is there any contact from U-Haul/U-Haul's Broker regarding damage; that is over 1 month of that truck being returned without any communication from U-Haul. How am I to believe or frankly be accused of damages when that vehicle has not been in my possession for over 1 month? This issue needs to be resolved and terminated immediately or I will be pursuing legal action. My original documentation shows that the damage on the vehicle was already present, as confirmed by the attendant at the pick-up location and was witnessed by another party who was with me at the time of pick-up. I strongly recommend that your business practices be reviewed and updated to ensure that future customers are not harassed over 1 month later with a claim that is clearly invalid, as I will certainly not be one of your customers ever again.

vehicle was in poor condition was very difficult to start the truck as the ignition was broken the truck smelled was dirty and was not impressed with the customer service from uhaul ..was quoted one price and when i got the bill i was charged more that quoted..reserved a 20 footer for morning pick up and was told it would be with in 5 kms of my location and when I CALLED BACK and not uhaul to confirm my confirmation was told that pickup would be at 6:00pm on Saturday night and the location was 20 kms away from me told them that was unexceptable but nothing was done ...had to get a 10 footer as that was the only thing available with a 9:00 am pickup ..your customer service SUCKS FUCKING ASS as nothing was done to help me out was basicaly told take it or leave it ..would really like to see better commication with your employees as one doesn't know what the other one does...

chains had "hooks" that were ground off completely from being dragged - didn't notice until we were loading the car - had to make our own clips to secure the load. U Haul should have inspected and fixed prior to renting. booking location was an hour closer to my home - the change in location was sent via email asking me to phone to "discuss" changes - put on hold for 15 minutes - when I was told of the change I asked and they agreed to send me a confirmation of the location change - which never arrived. New location required me to rent for another day to give me enough time to return it. Not a good experience overall.
